Kanata GymnoSphere in Ottawa is recognized as a vibrant hub for children to learn and enjoy gymnastics. Parents appreciate the creative space available for kids to explore, with a variety of obstacle courses and engaging activities.
Some highlights of the center include:
- Great Coaching: Many parents commend specific coaches for their exceptional ability to engage children, helping them to develop skills while having fun.

- Diverse Programming: From gymnastics to parkour and birthday parties, there’s a wide range of activities tailored for varying age groups and skill levels.
- Positive Experiences: Users have reported fantastic experiences during camps and drop-in sessions, with many children expressing excitement about returning.
- Accommodating Staff: Several reviews highlight the welcoming atmosphere and dedicated staff who ensure a good experience for both children and parents.
However, some concerns have been raised:
- The pricing structure can be confusing, leading to unexpected charges for drop-in sessions.
- Some parents have noted moments of inconsistency and miscommunication regarding scheduled activities and class sizes.
- Busy drop-in sessions have raised safety concerns, particularly for younger toddlers.
- A few instances of staff not fully addressing children's needs during classes were reported.
Overall, Kanata GymnoSphere remains a popular choice for parents seeking an engaging, active environment for their children despite some noted room for improvement.
Kanata GymnoSphere: Opinions
Negative experience: We enjoyed the homeschool drop in for a couple years. As parents we loved that our kids could be creative and use the blocks to create their own obstacle courses and move around some of the gym equipment. At some point there was a new employee manning the gym area. He made his own courses throughout the gym and none of the kids were allowed to adjust any of the blocks. It’s become a disappointment because of this and I know other homeschool moms are not bringing their kids back because of this one employee. It sucks the fun out of being there for the kids. Too bad! We really enjoyed it when there weren’t such strict rules. Maybe kids under 6 would enjoy this but considering it’s a homeschool drop in time, there’s usually older kids wanting more creativity to play.
Positive experience: My daughter loves coming to the drops in but the price is very confusing. Whenever we go and there’s an older gentleman, he charges $12. Every other time I have gone and he is not there I am charged $7. I pay with my card and even online on the website it says $5 cash or $7 card. It doesn’t state anywhere that it is $12. It is only when this man is working. Not sure if he is the owner or not but it is very odd that he charges more….
Fantastic experience: My three year old attends a recreational gymnastics class here and loves it. The coach, Joannah, does an exceptional job and makes the difference! Highly recommend.
Fantastic experience: Kids love it , so much to do there
Fantastic experience: Awesome experience! I highly recommend the day camps Winter and summer!
Fantastic experience: Great place to bring my grandchildren. We had so much fun.
Thank you Dale!
Negative experience: Bought tickets a week ago for family day drop in. Arrived and were told they were full. Explained we had a ticket. They said it didn’t matter first come first serve. That was not explained on the ticket that we had to rush to get there, buying a ticket should secure your spot. The manager said “too bad get here earlier next time”. Our whole family was there and I had to tell me kids they weren’t able to join them and take them home which had my children and family in the gym crying. We did end up getting a refund but will never come back here.
Fantastic experience: Great spot for the kids. Lots to do and amazing staff.
Fantastic experience: One of the better gymnastics places for kids in Kanata area. Good facility and great coaches. My kid is being taught by Khawar and I think he really puts in a lot ( and I mean a lott!) Of effort in making sure that the kids in his group learn well.
Fantastic experience: Love this gym! Fair price for drop in and very clean! Even smells like they clean regularly. Great times for the appropriate age groups.
Positive experience: The drop-in was good, the equipment is great and the kids have a blast, but it gets too crowded so it's a bit prone to small accidents (head bumps, etc)... Not the place's fault, though. Just a heads up for parents who plan to go there...
Thank you Bernardo! We appreciate the heads up to all our members in drop in as we rely greatly for active parents supervision during the drop in. We have two coaches on the floor overseeing and drop in rules are posted throughout the gym to ensure children’s safety.
Fantastic experience: Excellent customer service and follow through! Owner and staff were committed to ensuring everything went perfect for my son birthday party. The team was very engaged with the kids as they varied in ages and ensured everyone was having fun. I highly recommend !
Thank you so much Sharla! Your vote of confidence means so much to us! Kind thanks from everyone at GymnoSphere!
Fantastic experience: We just had our son’s 8th birthday party at Kanata Gymnosphere and it was awesome! The kids had a blast and got to do such a variety of activities. The Coach, Lyne was amazing at engaging the children of different ages and keeping them moving safely through fun games and activities. Party room was great too and had everything we needed. I would highly recommend!
Thank you so much for the positive feedback! It means a lot to our business to know we contributed to great memories!
Negative experience: I signed my daughter up for pd day camp and when I dropped her the kids were watching TV and when I picked her up they were on the TV. If I'm paying that much money for one day a TV should not be a form of entertainment for these children. Make the effort and find other ways to keep them engaged.
Hello Amy,Thank you for your feedback. PD day is between 9 and 4. That being said we understand kids may get dropped off early a bit and late a but reason for which we offer a complimentary 15 min before and after care. We give kids the option to either watch TV or play puzzle or colour between 8;45 and 9 am and 4 and 4:15. Some of the 4 years olds arrived very tired and our supervisor who is against the idea of having TV on confirmed the TV was in for 5 minutes at 8:55 and at 3:55 simply because the kids were very tired when they arrived and then exhausted when they left. We reassure you the children had a very active camp day, coaches Alessia, Ingrid and Quinn taught them many skills and it was an atmosphere full of joy and laughter of playing group games and exercising on bars, beam, vault trampoline, parkour. Our camp supervisor tried reaching you out over the phone a few times to discuss and adress your concerns. Please do not hesitate to contact us. Thank you!
Negative experience: Rude staff
We would love to hear more details to ensure this is looked at. All our staff are trying to be as welcoming as possible but we appreciate any feedback helping us improve our customers experience. Please feel free to call us and provide us more details. Thank you,Madalina
Fantastic experience: Kid has been going here for 7 years and loves it!
And we love ❤️ the best gymnast of all times in our gym, only 13 years old and a national athlete, proud of Julia on all levels: as a gymnast and as a person! Thank you yo your family for the loyalty and the continued support!
Fantastic experience: Great little getaway for a weekend exercise trip. Full day classes are great too.
Fantastic experience: Amazing place and amazing service. So much to do for the kids. Will be back many times again!
Fantastic experience: Great teachers and setup. Our 2 year old loves it.
Thank you so much Matt,It truly warms our heart to hear your family is happy in our facility!Thank you!Kanata GymnoSphere
Fantastic experience: Great facility and love their recreational gymnastics programs. Very high quality and would definitely recommend.
Fantastic experience: This was an AWESOME time after 2 years if I'd being stuck indoors. We'll definitely be back. :)
Fantastic experience: Great gymnastics classes for toddlers. The open gym hours are an awesome and affordable way to kill some time and burn energy for kids
Thank you Nicholas!
Fantastic experience: Great place to bring kiddos. Lots of space and fun features. The staff were also super nice and kept things running well.
Thank you Jeremy!
Fantastic experience: Everything was outstanding. I could not have been more impressed with the venue and the staff went above and beyond to ensure that the entire party had a wonderful experience.
Thank you so much on behalf of our entire team! Your words of appreciation mean a lot to our staff!
Positive experience: My kids love the place..coaches are nice especially the one for kindergarten her name is Natasha... Parents area is so small
Thank you Maysoun! We welcome parents of little ones to use the extended red floor in front if the viewing area to use as needed as well!
Fantastic experience: Best indoor play gym for small kids. Lots of activities to do indoors and my kid loves the experience. They have membership and drop in prices as well.
Thank you! We truly appreciate this and we are very happy to hear your kids are having fun here!
Fantastic experience: Amazing gyn with amazing owner ! Brining my daughter who is 10 to this place since she was 3-4 years old and she loves it here ! Staff are amazing and we are so lucky to have them in our community
Thank you so much!
Fantastic experience: This is a wonderful place for kids to learn and practice gymnastic. We celebrated my daughter’s birthday at Kanata Gymnosphere and it was incredible. Wonderful and professional staff, friendly and respectful environment. They are very patient and handle kids with love ❤️❤️❤️❤️.
Wow Marana! This means a lot to us! Thank you kindly for the vote of confidence! ❤️ We are thrilled to hear the kids had fun!
Negative experience: Not a fan. Can’t wait for my child’s classes to be over. Signed my 3 year old up for recreational classes. Her first class she completely left out of circle time - took the teachers way to long to realize she wasn’t included. She literally stood outside of a circle of children holding hands by herself for a solid 10 minutes. I then watched her out of her zone for the obstacle course and no one noticed forever to the point I almost had to go in. My daughter was apprehensive as it was her first ever class and she would let kids go ahead of her… the teachers never helped or ensured she had a turn. Then moved to a different activity. When I saw my daughter pointing and telling the teacher she never had a turn the teacher said “sorry next activity .. too bad”. Wont be coming back after our session - not even sure we will finish what we paid for it’s so bad . So many better spots in our area..
I am truly sorry this is unacceptable, I’ll follow up with the coach to see what happened. Could you please call us to indicate the class your daughter is in?Regarding special needs it’s a false statement as we are the only club that offered the one on one program.
Fantastic experience: Great facility. Our daughter has been here since she was an infant for their daytime drop ins and now is participating in their regular gymnastics program as well as summer camps. Coaching is fantastic!
Fantastic experience: Amazing place to brings your kids! Drove from orleans to find out it was full and sold out. The lady saw my disappointed kids and said come on in it’s okay. They are just so kind and amazing. Love this place. Always clean and well kept
Negative experience: My two daughters went to GymnoShphere for many years before the pandemic and they were happy to go there. After the pandemic things changed, this is the first time that they both said they did nott want to go there anymore. They want to learn cartwheel, but the coach said: you are supposed to know how to do it. But I registered them in the tumbling class to learn it. If they already knew how to do it, then why I spent my hard earned money on it? And they said what they did in the class was 80% nothing to do with tumbling at all. They did not get any help to improve their skills. So sad that GymnoSphere could not maintain their quality anymore. We are not going back.
Hello Guorui,In gymnastics it takes time to build skills and without the proper preparation the children may be exposed to risks of hurting themselves. The coaches progress skills gradually in line with each child abilities, and it’s important to maintain realistic expectations. The curriculum from jk/sk classes they were attending before pandemic to the Acro class is different, the later being much more challenging. Patience is very important in gymnastics in order to prepare well an athlete before being ready to do advanced skills. Also personal determination plays a key role in the development speed. Thank you, Madalina
Positive experience: They made some new improvements to the place and it's a lot of fun but the drop ins can be quite busy with a mix of babies and older kids running all over.
Thank you Krista!
Fantastic experience: The drop ins are great flexibility for parents and kids to explore together, and we also love all the coaches! Kindergym classes are fun and appropriate and they do a great job catering the camps to all ages. It’s our favourite weekend activity!!
Fantastic experience: I can not say enough great things about this place. My son, Blake, absolutely loves his time at Kanata Gymnosphere. He attended summer camp last year and had so much fun, he has requested he goes back for PD days, March Break Camp and yet again, another full Summer Camp! The staff are all so loving and truly make me as a parent feel at ease at drop off! This place is clean and practises such a great safety policy at pick up! I would highly recommend Kanata Gymnosphere to anyone looking for a fantastic place for their children to play and explore!
Thank you Ashleigh!
Negative experience: The owner certainly doesn’t mind using the n word. After seeing her use it, refuse to change it and make no apologies for it, I would not recommend this gym. Editing in response to below: You typed it in full and refused to change it after several people asked you to. I have the receipts. You’re also oversharing information about a 6yr old with a developmental disability. The way you handle negative reviews here is awful. I’m glad my son only did one course with you. Never again.
Thank you for bringing up this concern. We just wanted to clear things out that the word that we mentioned was just clarifying things since we were in a middle of discussion with the mother of the kid. The kid was exhibiting inappropriate behavior that time and we wanted to settle things. We assure that we embrace everyone here fairly. Apologies for the miscommunication but we believe that you got the message wrong.Thank you very muchMadalina
Fantastic experience: I am truly impressed with this Club. The atmosphere is extremely welcoming, from the first steps one takes in the gym, is surrounded by "good vibes". My little one has amazing coaches, and I appreciate how clean and friendly this gym is.
Thank you for your kind words!Kanata GymnoSphere
Fantastic experience: My 5 year old has been attending the open play sessions every weekend and looks forward to all the different obstacles she can do. This gave us the opportunity to see what she enjoyed the most and we decided to sign her up for the course.
We are thrilled to hear the loves the every day surprises of the drop in set ups! Don’t forget to bring her to the Easter EggHunt for more surprises!
Negative experience: Birthday party was not the best experience since the party room was very small - got it late and had 10 minutes to setup and was only allowed the one hour. Host was not so interested in assisting the little kids (2-5 years old) bday boy was turning 5. So they should have expected this age group and had to be ready to engage with them better. To all fairness we had a big party 16 kids including babies! This place should have only been 8 kids or maybe 10 the most. I was not so impressed with the staff tone, I tried my best to ignore it and not ruin my son’s birthday celebration.
Sorry you feel this way. As you know, you did came to see the party room prior to booking. We also called you Wednesday to confirm numbers, but was never mentioned 16 guests. The party coach, Coach Sheldon is one of our best coaches and I regret to see such a low rating for his hard work. I also helped with the party I could see how well he was controlling the older boy who was pushing all the babies. The 10 minutes late which majority of the guests delayed, we made an effort to extend the party by extra 10 minutes. You left the gym blowing us kisses and thanking me and Sheldon for the fun time. I regret that you now consider this party a fiasco. Your party started at 3:30 yet you arrived at 2:50 and were upset for not having access in the room while another party was there. We made huge efforts to accommodate the excess of unannounced kids and we have you extra set of cutlery plates and table cloth, we helped you load and unload and we were constantly assisting your guest parents accommodated in the viewing area. It was obvious the kids had a blast as they all seemed happy and were glued to Sheldon. We truly regret to see that you were not happy.Thank you, Madalina
Fantastic experience: We've been attending this gym since my 4 year old was born. Starting with baby groups and drop in times, my daughter was first there when she started to crawl. Since covid permitted reopenings, we've enrolled her in several classes. It's been great to see her progress. The coaches are great with kids and foster a fun and safe environment to play and explore. When it came time to book her first birthday party with friends recently, we booked their room. The value is amazing for us and our guests. They provide 1 hour of instruction with one of their coaches for up to 8 kids, followed by 1 hour in the party room for cake and snacks. They provide the table cloths, plates, forks, and even some invitations ahead of time. In other words, lots of little things the parents don't need to worry about! In addition, any parents who want can provide their contact information for a $10 credit towards a future class.
Thank you immensely Eric for your loyalty, the kind words and the vote of confidence! I’ll pass on the word to our amazing party coaches as I am sure they will be thrilled to know the little ones enjoyed the party. We are all very grateful for having such polite and kind customers such as yourself here and we are truly impressed you followed the internal party protocols , you were so kind and respectful to our staff and facility and home to see you in our gym for a long time! A big thank you!Kanata GymnoSphere
Fantastic experience: My son and his friends had such a great time at his birthday party! The instructors did an amazing job at keeping them engaged, which is no small feat for a group of 5 year old boys! I'd definitely recommend having a party here
Thank you Kristy!
Fantastic experience: We had a friend tell us about this location and we decided to bring our kids. They had such a great opportunity to explore all the different activities and loved the trampolines. I would highly recommend parents bring their kids to the open play sessions to familiarize themselves with all the different obstacles.
Thank you!
Fantastic experience: Our 5 year old loves his little ninja class here. It’s a full hour of on-the-go activity and the instructors are great with shy newcomers. They offer great day camps and have been very accommodating with registration and schedule changes.
Thank you Sarah!
Negative experience: I hope I can give zero star. This is the first time I see such way of doing business since I moved to Canada. I ordered a birthday party and it said 10 children are included. Then after some time when I checked, it has been changed to 8. I called the office and I was told by the person that she cannot understand me because of my accent and was told to send them email. I insisted talking through phone and definitely she can understand me well. She told me they changed the birthday party rule and only 8 children are included because of expense. I have to accept that or I can cancel the party. She told me I already got discount and everyone else understands this situation .... To be honest, I do not care about this. What I know is I have the right to get what I ordered. My request is for them to honour the order. Such a bad experience which I cannot believe it happened. Great job: my order was canceled by the person because I leave a bad review on Google.
Hello,Sadly we could not understand you over the phone. We asked if possible if you can come in person to discuss the matter. When you arrived we understood you purchased a promotional package that no longer existed with an additional 25% discount. When we offered to honor it you insisted in being refunded because we could not understand you over the phone. Our parties are by far the cheapest in the industry and this demonstrates we are here to help the community celebrate, that being said there is a maximum level to which we can stretch discounts in order to survive as a business. Thank you, Madalina
Fantastic experience: Our sons 2nd Birthday Party was a blast! We had a group of 16 children between the ages of 18 months and 6 years old and there was so much to do that every child had a great time. Afterwards all the parents mentioned individually how much their kids enjoyed it and that they would be coming back from drop ins. Total win!! The booking process was simple and easy to do online. The team follows up by giving you a call to confirm all the details, and you have until the Wednesday before your weekend party to finalize the count, order pizzas and any other add ons you might need. Communication was easy and quick. If I left a voicemail they called me back the same day. The weren’t just attentive during the booking process, on the day of the party we had Natasha and Laura as our party hosts and they showed our kids all the fun activities, played with them and truly kept them engaged and enjoying themselves. Madelina, the owner, was so helpful also, checking in if we needed anything and if all was going well. She was so hands on, vacuuming and helping set up tables etc… We truly felt like VIPs. At the end of our party when we were cleaning up Akxenia was right there with us, helping us put everything away. The teams kindness and positive energy really made this the best birthday party experience for us. The gym itself has so many great areas and was clearly well kept and regularly cleaned. Thank you again!
Jody Anne I could not possibly thank you enough for the time you took not only to write this beautiful review but also to remember and mention our names! With this review you are one of my favorite VIP customers and if you ever decide to join our club for activities for little B ..please contact me directly and it will be my pleasure to offer a significant discount. Your family and friends were a pleasure to have in the gym, friendly and so supportive and extremely kind! Million thanks for the vote of confidence and for your kind words of appreciation! We hope to see you soon! ❤️
Fantastic experience: I wish I knew about this place much, much earlier. We first visited the GymnoSphere today, and my kids are in love with the place. It’s a giant gym with lots of gymnastic equipment, mats, climbing structures, trampolines, etc. it’s a perfect place for kids to spend a couple of hours and burn tons of energy. We will be regular customers now.
Awww that’s so sweet! We love to hear this! Thank you!
Positive experience: We've been to a couple of different gyms in the area, but my daughter loves this place. We recently had her birthday party there, and while there was a glitch in planning, the team and I worked together to make sure that the event was still success! Coach Nat was wonderful with the kids, and I was appreciative that the gym time was structured and not just free time for the kids to play. The structured gym time meant no one got tired too fast and the kids all stayed engaged. Other staff took our items and set the party room all up for us and I loved that! (I loved not having to rush and I could just enjoy watching the kids and chatting with a friend). The kids came to the party room laughing and red cheeked. My daughter had a great party!
We are sad to not see 5 stars if the computer glitch was resolved by humans and if the kids enjoyed the party. But thank you anyways! we hope you will be back! Your review does sound as a huge compliment and thank you for this!
Negative experience: We decided to enroll our six-year-old son in Kanata GymnoSphere summer camp this year, marking his first experience in that place. Unfortunately, it seems it might also be his last. The camp was overcrowded, with an overwhelming noise and bad air quality. It's not surprising, given that the facilities lack the space and proper ventilation needed for such a large group of kids and adults. One striking image that remains is a group of children huddled right next to the exit door, watched cartoons while waiting to be picked up. This seemed very inappropriate and rather disrespectful to the children's needs and potential. It appears that they were even allowed to watch cartoons during lunchtime. In the past, when we used to take our daughter there, it was a very welcoming and tidy place. But, it seems that their current focus is more on quantity rather than the quality. It was so disappointing to see such an overcrowded, disorganized, and seemingly undisciplined environment. Interestingly, just the week before, our son had attended a different camp that was a complete contrast. The atmosphere was clean and organized, with a reasonable number of children for the designated space. The children remained active and engaged throughout, playing until the pickup time.
Hello Mandana, Following COVID we had a higher than usual demand in camps. The children got bored in staying at home for so long. Evidently we tried our best to accommodate all requests and we saw a lot of children going home happy. This year in march we implemented new organizational measures besides the new renovation to ensure the pick and drop off are design ghee to meet the crowd. The children were given the choice in the morning to play various group activities or watch TV for a very short period of time. Our councillors put a great effort truly to ensure all children were happy and the stationed were disinfected and cleaned at least 6 times a day (including all chairs, tables and washrooms and vacuumed periodically after each activity). We reassure you we do not leave any stone unturned when it comes to cleanliness and safety , as we fully take pride in being a very clean and structured facility.
Positive experience: No trial classes
Fantastic experience: Went here for birthday party and the staff and facility were great!!
Negative experience: They never answer the phone. The customer service is not great at this location. Prices are also very expensive
Fantastic experience: I can’t say enough great things about Gymnosphere. My kids have been in summer camp here for most of the summer and have come home wanting to go back every day! The coaches are very kind, professional, educated in tumbling and doing so safely, demonstrative, dedicated. Owner has been so accommodating to our kids’ needs and have truly made us all feel very welcome!
Dear StephanieIt truly warmed our hearts to read your review! We are here to ensure mostly the kids have fun, learn, make friends and when our efforts are acknowledged it is the most wonderful reward! We will pass on the message to all our coaches and thank you kindly for your public recognition! It truly means a lot to us! Kind regards, Madalina
Fantastic experience: It a great place my daughter attended classes and camps since she was 4 year old
Fantastic experience: My toddler loved kindergyms and JK gymnastics. Drop ins are great value. Parent inclusive sessions let me do a little stretching and mobility work as well. Staff have all been great.
Fantastic experience: My child loves this gym. Coaches are great and so is the staff. The facility is wonderful. My child feels at home at the gym, loves the environment, always looks forward to going there, coaching and the atmosphere is fantastic and they’ve done a really good job building a community of athletes and programs at all levels, that I find are very inclusive.
Words cannot possibly express the joy and the honor of having such a wonderful community of parents and athletes building up. Having the honor to be surrounded by such wonderful people is the most wonderful reward!
Positive experience: A great place for the kids to learn gymnastics but it's pretty $$
Negative experience: This is a place I have taken my kids almost weekly for years now, so when my husband shows up for drop in with only 40 min remaining and they won't let him in because they only accept cash, it's very disappointing! Not collecting $5 from one child would not break the bank, especially because we happily would've paid double the following week. I know that Olympia and Rideau gymnastics have done that for people! I know that there are rules for a reason but sometimes good customer service and making an exception can go a long way and would keep your clients happy!
Hello Hannah. You are absolutely right and this should not have happened! Exactly what we typically do when our customers do not have cash it is either accept card payment, or offer drop in cards or in some instances many times we offered for free (especially if it is only a few minutes left of the drop in). The staff member taking payments at the front desk today was new and did not realize this was the case. We are very sorry this happened to you today and we made sure to address and educate the staff member for future instances. We hope to see you back in the gym at a future time and definitely the next drop in is from on us! Thank you in advance for your understanding and our sincere apologizes for the misunderstanding! Madalina
Fantastic experience: My leg is really good and doing to taekwondo or something to be a gymnastics competition
Positive experience: Decent gym despite poor customer service (my emails have been ignored and it's hard to get them on the phone).
Positive experience: My daughter has been going to Kanata Gymnosphere for 3 years and enjoys it!
Positive experience: Great parkour program. My teen has been going for a few years and loves it.
Positive experience: My kids really enjoy kindergym which caters to variety of skill levels
Negative experience: I’m just a normal kid going to the drop in me and my friend that I will not name get into a fight I leave I came back because I was just upset my mom picks me up and I was told one of the staff were calling me inappropriate names I Heard It from multiple People and I gave a complaint Today the said they will do something but the staff member who said that stuff was apparently One of the nicest people there so if the man I’m talking about is reading this I just want to no why u said that stuff
Positive experience: My girls love Gymnosphere. It is more expensive than the last place we were at, but we found our girls were improving much more quickly and getting a better overall workout! I love that they follow the CanGym levels.
Positive experience: Good place to take the kids on a bad weather day to burn off some energy and have fun. Prices are very reasonable. The place can be a little overwhelming at times with the number of people they let it, and I've had some safety concerns for the younger toddlers with some of the equipment left out.
Fantastic experience: I can highly recommend the Kindergym programme at the Kanata Gymnosphere. My two children had an excellent experience with Reagan who was very attentive and set up a great variety of stations for them. The space is bright and well set up for parents to chat or work while they wait for their children. We will definitely sign up again.
Positive experience: My daughter loves it here. Her coach pays great attention to her training and makes her want to practice all the time. Thank you for making my little girl so happy.
Negative experience: Came here for the first time for the baby drop-in. This place deserves a 0 star! I don’t usually write reviews but I have to let people know to stay far away from this gym. Not baby proofed at all.. They had 4 hoola hoops, 2 foam cubes and a mini ball pit that had 10 balls and some where broken for the kids to play with. I suggest people to go to the Star Gymnastic for the drop-in since they have amazing variety for the kids and toys to play with. Please save yourself the trip and avoid this place at ALL costs!
Hello Kyla,We are very sorry for this bad first experience you had during our free baby drop ins. We have just added the extra free baby drop in days and on this Friday it happened to coincide with a PD day where we had a lot of registrants over night as such the coach assigned to set up arrived in the morning and was overwhelmed with sign ins and did not have the time to prepare the usual fun set up for babies. We are very sorry this happened and we hope you will give us the second chance and experience our usual fun free baby drop in! Many thanks in advance for your understanding!
Negative experience: We have bean cheated and ripped off. Madalina (the owner) started the year with a promise of a coach and a promise of fair treatment if we decide to leave. The group of boys was coached by a baby-sitter girl instead. Fast forward 4 months, the coach never came. We have been charged for 6+ months of coaching. When we decided to leave they did not give us money back. They still have no coach for the male program. Other parents have been treated in the same manner. Stay away, don't trust the owner or head coach Lauren. They don't post it here, but a lot of parents just silently leave for other gyms.
Hello Michael, I am very sorry you feel this way. If you have any concerns that you would like to discuss with us, you can give us a call or email us at [email protected]. Thank you, Madalina
Negative experience: Called and verified in advance of a birthday party here that an autistic child could be accommodated. Ten minutes into the actual party, the autistic child was asked by staff to leave “due to the construction going on.” (There were over 60 other children present, so what relevance the construction had is beyond me.) This child has attended all manner of activities without issue - gymnastics classes included (at a different gymnasium). I wasn’t going to make a scene at a child’s birthday party; but needless to say I will never return and I highly recommend no one else does either. What kind of company asks a four year old to leave a birthday party ten minutes after it starts? This one.
Negative experience: Terrible for small children. While this place might be good for advanced/competitive, it is terrible for beginners or young children. I rarely write reviews, but I couldn't help it. This place actually deserves 0 stars. The coaches are not engaging and do not explain how to do any movements. The kids are left to themselves, not so good for 4 years old. The instructors keep changing from week to week and don't even introduce themselves.
Hello Anne-Marie,Thank you for your feedback. We take our customers feedback very seriously as tools to constantly improve. We had issues with coaches consistency and we have indeed strengthen our staff performance evaluation measures in place to ensure delivery of quality programs! We have also secured at least three more senior coaches with an extremely knowdsgeable background in the field. We would be thrilled if you would be interested to try our activities again and experience our enhanced programs, we offer free trial classes! Many thanks!
Positive experience: Love this place. Nice and clean and great space for parents to watch. Equipment is excellent as well as the instructors. No complaints about that. I rated it 4 stars only because it gets a little too busy at times. They have a nice space with hundreds of cubbies to organize boots and personal belongings. Perhaps staggering the class start times would improve the crowded feeling at the start/end of each class times. The quality of the classes are exceptional. My daughter loves it!
Fantastic experience: My Daughter loves gymnastics here. Her teacher Debbie is the best!
Fantastic experience: My girls have been to several birthday parties and always have a blast!
Fantastic experience: I would like to say a HUGE thank you to the team at GymnoSphere. Thanks to them my daughter and 14 of her closest friends had an amazing time at her 9th birthday party!!!
Thank you for the review! We are thrilled to hear that the kids had fun! It’s what validates our purpose in the community! Many thanks for taking the time to share your positive feedback with the community!
Fantastic experience: Our sons have been taking parkour here for 2 years and they just love it! The instructors are always friendly and the gym is clean and safe. Great way for them to stay active.
Fantastic experience: Love this location for Parkour and drop in. I like the cafe style seating for parents too.
Fantastic experience: Great gym! My daughter loves it and loves Debbie her instructor who is a great gymnast and teacher
Negative experience: I have to change my review. This used to be an excellent place. Nowadays they seem to be extremely focused on quantity rather than quality, and safety appears to not be in their checklist. The entry area is a complete mess and it is constantly blocked, even by staff sitting in a desk. The waiting area has been reduced at least 70%. Why would they do that? The only explanation is that it is done to be able to have more students. But it is not good to do that while reducing the spaces for students getting ready and for parents waiting. I am extremely concerned about safety for parents and students.
Hello Edgar,As a local guide you should be objective unless your target is to play in favor of our competition. Our viewing area is the same size with the other gyms. In addition we have a lobby, which other gyms don’t have. The table is to greet customers. The “mess” you talk about is during first week when it gets very crowded in every facility in town as parents are getting familiar. We would appreciate your review should it be objective. Asking us to mitigate parking in front of the fire hydrant, as you stated in the follow up email is truly not in our jurisdiction.By your rating criteria, IKEA, Farm Boy and milestones deserve low rating (one to three stars), booming businesses with extreme popularity and excellent quality. Thank you,Madalina
Fantastic experience: My daughter loves doing gymnastics here! Great coaches and a beautiful newly renovated gym.
Fantastic experience: My son is in parkour and loving it. Nice big gym and a good parent waiting area with couches.
Fantastic experience: This place is a sanity saver for parents of busy toddlers - especially in the winter months! We started my older son with the baby drop-ins 2+ years ago, and have been attending the 0-6yr open gym times ever since. We're now taking my infant son as well (11 months), who loves it just as much. My only knock is that it can get busy at times (on weekends and rainy days). So keep your head on a swivel!
Fantastic experience: Great place, Great teacher working with my daughter with lack of balance, really amazing. love GymnoSphere!
Fantastic experience: Amazing staff and trainers. Excellent atmosphere
Fantastic experience: The facility is great and the instructors are really nice. My daughters love coming here:
Fantastic experience: I love the location, how well lit and ventilated it is. My kids love it there.
Fantastic experience: My daughter loves going to Kanata Gymnosphere. We have had nothing but great experiences with the coaching staff as well as fantastic birthday parties!
Fantastic experience: We have been registering the girls in classes and camps. It is going great.
Fantastic experience: Great and friendly atmosphere. Many different class options. We also take advantage of the drop-ins...fantastic for tweens and teenagers!
Fantastic experience: My 11 year old daughter really enjoys her class & looks forward to going every week!
Fantastic experience: We’ve had a great experience at Kanata Gymnosphere. My daughter is now starting her third session with the gym and has always loved the classes and her coaches. We started her as a toddler as a great way to challenge her physical abilities and have her follow instructions from another adult. She’s now starting solo classes with confidence and a great skill set she will continue to build on. I’d highly recommend them!
Fantastic experience: Great facility and excellent staff. My kids love it.
Fantastic experience: We’ve participated in several sessions between our two little ones. Always a wonderful experience with eager and engaging coaching staff!
Fantastic experience: 5 stars because google won’t let me give 10! I can not say enough goods things about Kanata Gymnosphere! My daughter attended their drop ins as an infant and started lessons as soon as she was old enough. Great experiences with all of the instructors, drop in staff and centre in general :) Best facility in Ottawa by far!
Fantastic experience: My kids love Kanata Gymnosphere, the staff is great and they always look forward to it!
Negative experience: I'm very dissapointed with the girls who teach the class, they don't have any experiece and they are not committed with their job, for me any sport means discipline, I understand 4yo can't be very focus in the class but they don't even make the effort. A class start with some warming excercises, then they set like 6 stations, each kid should try all of them, but they let them play free instead to help them one by one to go through all the station and make it well at least once. They don't really care about kids, they just stand next to them and watch the clock waiting for the class end. Or sometimes they are only with 2 or 3, and the rest 7 kids are doing nothing or just playing. For playing I don't need to pay more than 100 dollars, I could just come for drop in and pay 5$ or 7$ and get more time, but that wasn't the reason because I brought my daughter. They waste time stamping hands, talking between them, looking their hair, finish the class 7 min before, spent other 10 min sending kids for water 2 to 3 times in 1 hour class, etc etc. Maybe this place is good for older kids. Anyway, I'm not sure if I'm gonna bring her next session.
Fantastic experience: Huge place, lots of kids to do to burn energy on a cold / rainy day. the drop in gets super busy with big kids in the summer and during school breaks. Also beware of the odd older kid and daycare providers who have too many kids to handle. A great place to go with friends and their kids so that you can tag team and keep an eye on everyone between you. The place is so big it is hard to keep track of multiple kids at once, especially if you have runners, so beware. The price is good though, especially if you get the punch card, which you can share with your friends.
Fantastic experience: We love coming here! We do the drop ins during the week and have signed up for some classes before. Our daughter always has a great time.
Fantastic experience: I give 5 for good location, reasonable prices, good attitude. My son Peter was there for 2 sessions, 10 classes each and we had a birthday party couple years ago. It's good place, nothing very special, but again for location and reasonable price I give 5 stars. Recommend. BTW. I don't understand why some had problems with on-line booking. I think we didn't have, although I may have forgotten already:).
Fantastic experience: Best open gym in Ottawa (for tricking and free-running), half the price of L.O.M. (15$ for 3 hours vs 15$ for one hour and a half at LOM) With a lot more to train on and greater floor space as well, not to mention the foam pit and height drop.
