Positive experience: I trained at this place for almost a decade and it has some of the finest instruction I have even gotten in my nearly 30 years of Martial Arts training in multiple countries. Instructors are friendly and capable, front desk is a darling and the people training there are some of the best I've ever met, both in skill and in friendliness. Also, the organization has multiple locations which you can train at without extra costs! Only negative is they have huge instructor turnover of their longest tenure instructors and they are associated with an absolute bigot & trash person for an organizational head (Renzo Gracie). The last is why I left. Considering that the martial arts are full of objectionable people, and especially in MMA / BJJ, your mileage may vary and finding an association head who isn't a bigot or abuser is like finding a needle in a haystack.

Fantastic experience: So far it has been great for my kid. His sensei is challenging, charming and engaging. The centre has a family atmosphere, at least for the kids classes. All in all, a really positive experience.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic kids programs! for 5 years we've taken the nightly lessons and also the After School Program. I highly recommend both! The adult and teenage instructors are very skilled and motivating to the kids, and it makes its lots of fun. They have become a second family to us. The community outreach is amazing: Strike Day PD camps, Fun days, BBQs, parade floats KAMA always gives back.

Fantastic experience: The Ottawa Academy of Martial Arts hosted my 4 year old's birthday party at their location in Kanata. Not only were the party hosts extremely welcoming and engaging (all our guests participated and said they had a great time) but they had the space all decorated and set up before we arrived. Our son cut his cake with a sword and had their monster truck pick him up to go to the party. It was an experience he will never forget and super affordable!! I highly recommend OAMA for anyone looking for great kids martial arts programming at a great price!
