Positive experience: This is undoubtedly one of the best franchise locations in Niagara and even across Western New York. A solid contender for a 5-star rating! Pros: State-of-the-Art Equipment: The variety and newness of machines are fantastic, catering to all kinds of workouts. Functional Training Room Upgrade: I absolutely love the addition of TVs here—it’s a great touch for those long workouts. Friendly Staff: The front office is warm and welcoming, with receptionists always greeting with a smile. Hygiene Standards: The facility is impeccably clean, making every visit pleasant. Areas for Improvement: While the experience is overall excellent, there are a few minor drawbacks that I hope the management will address: 1. TV Channel Selection: The current selection of channels leaves much to be desired. Kids’ programs dominate, while informative options like business channels are missing. Some channels are repeated unnecessarily, reflecting a lack of thoughtful curation. For someone who spends 30 minutes jogging, this time could be more informative or entertaining with a better mix of channels. 2. Meditation Room Noise: The meditation room is beautifully designed and has immense potential, but the noise from the hydro massage chairs nearby disrupts the tranquility. Soundproofing or relocating the hydro massage chairs could elevate the experience significantly. 3. Hydro Massage Room Lighting: The bright lights in the hydro massage room feel out of place. Dimming the lights or turning them off during sessions would create a more relaxing ambiance. Conclusion: This gym is a gem with a lot going for it. Addressing these minor issues will make the experience truly flawless and deserving of a 5-star rating. I’m hopeful that my feedback through this review will lead to some positive changes.

Fantastic experience: I've been a member of this Planet Fitness location since it's inception back in 2023 and am very impressed with the facility itself, the maintenance and cleanliness of this facility as well as the very friendly and approachable management and staff. I've been a gym goer for decades and can honestly say this is probably one of the nicest facilities I've ever been a member of and that this Planet Fitness really hits the mark with regards to encouraging/facilitating respect and acceptance among its members and creating a safe and healthy environment.

Fantastic experience: I have been a member since August 2024 and absolutely love it! The staff is THE BEST, the amenities are fantastic -- love the massage chairs -- and the equipment is beginner friendly for people like me who are just trying to be healthier. I find many of my fellow patrons to be super friendly, helpful and encouraging! I highly recommend it!

Fantastic experience: This place was fantastic!
From the moment I walked in the door i was greeted with the friendly hello of someone who was happy to be at work.
This was my second time being at the club, as i had popped in on my birthday a few weeks ago. The staff were friendly then when I signed a standard waiver to freely look around the basic amenities and check out the cleanliness if the washrooms.
Free wifi? Yep sign me up with the savings on my phone bill.. training 25 hours a week can wreak havoc on your phone bill.
Sad to see no sauna room available but the music was pumping Snoop Dog at a respectable volume, so you can’t really miss it too much for the comfort of full length lockers.
The water station is central, the machines have all updated LED screens so bring a towel if you need to cover.
Ample sanitizer and paper towels to clean. Offers multiple sections for training efficiency, a full basic weights from i can tell.
No bumper plates and no platforms for olympic lifting but the kettlebell section is impressive. Med balls, resistance training supplies, multiple bosu balls all have a spot at Planet fitness.
Don’t tell anyone, but she let me even sample the hydro bed, which offered an updated version of what I’m used to.
Hooked already, I discussed a few things with the front desk.
You *Do* need a credit car for your first payment at sign up but you *can* get a prepaid Mastercard

Positive experience: Have been going to this gym since it opened. There have been some hiccups along the way with drinking water, machines, etc... and still waiting for tanning booths to be fixed... but overall, it's a clean gym with tons of equipment. It's never TOO packed. And Christine the manager is doing everything she can to keep the place going. Would highly recommend.

Negative experience: Recieved a follow-up phone call about the incident from the other day of how I was rudely spoken to.upon entering the gym. The staff member calling me today was polite, but did mention how she got I trouble for the poor review. I cannot seem to reach anyone from corporate to speak to about this very Gelrey area. I am not working out, I am not even stepping foot onto the gym floor. So how is it a liability to sit in a waiting area with my baby (who is sleeping in his stroller almost every single time wer are there) I am sitting in a chair, and he's in the stroller next to me. How is that a liability??? Plante Fitness corporate please reach out to me. If it's a "liability " for me to sit quietly inside , then I'm happy to sit outside I my car while my son works out. #singlemotherwithnohelp!!!! Not one to complain, I'm.known for just letting everything slide. But this feels like discrimination to me. I'd understand if we are a distraction. But we sit, quietly like a mouse. My son works out, and we leave. He's been at the gym for 1 year now. And my infant has been coming with me since he's been born. (Now 9 months old, and NOW there's a problem?!!!) I don't understand?? The manager herself has come up to me to see the baby one time when we were sitting. Nothing makes sence here. I feel very much blindsided!! Worst part is, a couple of my sons friends are about to join so they call all work.out together. The ONLY reason they want to sign up, is so they can work out together. This is extremely upsetting!!!! Like mentioned, we've been coming for now almost 10 months with baby in tow and NEVERRRRRR has anyone batted an eye, raised a concern or mentioned anything. So let's figure this out together!! My son l9ves the gym....and I enjoy sitting and waiting for him. Yet apparently that's not allowed.

Negative experience: Super fun when you walk through the doors and get verbally attacked by an employee as if I've committed a crime. Came to sit while my son goes for a work out as per usual... with my infant in tow, as I've done for the past 9 months of his life. He is ALWAYS with me at the gym. And I have NEVER been stopped or questioned about it, I sit quietly, my baby has never cried in 9 months and is quiet, there have NEVER been any complaints etc. And today, I was stopped RUDELY by a new employee, who had ZERO tact in regards to customer service skills as to how to.speak to someone. And instead of politely speaking to me, he said "your not allowed to come in the gym with anyone under the age of 18!!" My son who's working out is 14, so clearly that rule doesn't apply to him?? This employee has seen me,and my baby already twice at the gym previously. He was extremely rude when he was speaking to me. I asked for.him to find a manager, because I have never in 9 months had been spoken to, or turned away like that. I understand if this employee is following his training manual, but he clearly needs customer service training, and learning tact of how to approach and speak to customers without going into attack mode right away!! He didn't even apologize.

Negative experience: have been going with my friends for the past 6-7 months, loved it the first few months, but its gotten worse, the bathroom stinks, employees are useless and do not take a very well job of the gym, they allow pedos, had 2 incidents brought it to the front and they absolutely did nothing about it nor tried kicking the person out absolutely disgusting, and not to mention the water is beyond disgusting and has been tasting like mold for the past month, told the guy at the desk and he did not care not seem to care nor let thr manger know about it just went right back to his phone, absolutely insane and wouldn’t recommend to anyone honestly
Negative experience: I do not go to this gym, but I had been trying to join for 48hrs. I went in person to sign up and had to peel 3 teenagers behind the desk away from their phone to get help just for them to tell me that there are no sign ups in person and I had to download the app. So I did that and I never got the confirmation email and it would not send another email anytime I pressed the “resend” button. I have never seen a business make it so difficult to buy their product. I will be going to another gym solely because their Operating Systems were made by 2 cavemen with a lightning rod.
Positive experience: Amazing franchise being destroyed by Canadian corporate owners.. The on-site workers from desk to management are doing everything they can to keep the place clean and functional. The manager even goes out of her way to fix the machines personally. Mostly all friendly staff. Why are corporate Canadian business owners so cheap to the point they don't even allow the company the maintenance fees it needs to keep all its services running. As a Black card member I get less and less every year. Wheres my Pizza party? #planetgate

Positive experience: Only my second Canadian Planet Fitness (the other was in Vancouver last year), and my US-based Black Card membership worked just fine. Easy to do the 30 minute circuit and then hit the showers. Interesting to see them with the etched glass doors in the showers - I really would like more space in there for hanging my stuff while I clean up. Lots of parking as this PF is part of a shopping mall. And one of these days, I'll hit the massage chairs but that's not today.

Negative experience: It's a strange situation, I want to go to the club, but I can't pay because I don't have a credit card and they don't accept cash either. It turns out I have to open a credit card, which I don't need, so that I can train at this club.
Hi Nataliia, most of our memberships require a checking account to draft fees every month and a secondary form of payment, such as a debit/credit card. This just helps you avoid missing any payments and getting stuck with late fees associated with lost/stolen credit cards. You can contact your local club directly with any questions. Negative experience: I go there almost everyday and every day I use the hydro beds and the one girl with glasses and long blonde hair always questions if I’m a black card member. I’ve told her many times that I’m a black card member and she always insists to see “proof” the machines are okay. Some of them are broken

Negative experience: I really hope the owner or someone controlling the franchise read this because is serious. In the St Catharines club over Welland Av. There are a few sinior members same persons waking fully naked inside the locker room NO the showers. This club accepts teenagers after 13 years old and also have a summer program to let enjoy the gym to teenagers after 14 years old by themselves.... It is unacceptable an also could by illegal and bring parents asking why the kids aren't safe. This isn't a private somebody's room it is a public lockers room for all members and I can not find appropriate to watch people naked or my teenager son or anyone teenagers son be exposed to watch adult people fully naked trying to showing off when they just want to go and pick up the gym back. And also and more important the place has room in front the shower precise to this kind of situation. I really appreciate the corrective action. Update Jun30 Yesterday my 13 years old son went to the locker to drop off the gym back and there was people fully naked, the situation still going on he complained to the front desk and the answer was do not go in to the lockers room ( it seems like no right the boy to use the place ) ... So We have 4 membership and we are evaluating other options... As go back to Fit for Less, funny thing is we changed gym trying to incentive that boy to go to gym. So sad they don't understand the difference between lockers and the rooms in front the shower to get undressed.
Fantastic experience: Edit: machines/equipment fixed I love the vibe of this gym it’s so chill, but the place is falling apart . One smith machine has been out of order since I got my membership and the other 3 are always hogged. One chest press machine is out of order, the other one is so sketchy and doesn’t count reps or time correctly. Both leg curl machines are out of order. They have like 4 ceiling leaks and I bet now like 5 treadmills will be out of order and 3 bikes. They never fix anything

Negative experience: I’m trying to log into my account through the website but can’t remember my username. Requested an email several times but no email. Checked every inbox available in my email but nothing. So I guess good luck getting my payment since I can’t seem to update my account information through the app and you’re not sending me the email with my username to do it through the website.

Fantastic experience: Our new fitness place! They have lots of equipment and you hardly ever have to wait for machines. Love their massage chairs and water massage beds. Recommend it to anyone. Been weight lifting for 36 years and like it here best. Lots of free parking. Machines are always working, I've never seen a down machine, but there are lesser people taking the adjustment knobs off the machines, making it hard to adjust the seats. I wish those people would go to another less serious gym. This place is not a daycare. The waiting area is open to the doors, but there are enough seats if you need them. I like that they don't like loud workouts - if you don't like the music then wear ear buds like we do. No need to drop weights - slow, controlled movements make the most power - makes a nice peaceful gym.
Negative experience: I have been to $150/ month gym and $20 a month gym like planet fitness I was looking for reason (apart from personal trainer) for big gap in price and today i found the difference, It is a quality of their customer service, huge need for improvement in quality of customer service at this location, There are two ways of saying store is closing in 5 mins to a guy working out blasting full audio using noise cancelling headphones, they definitely chose rude way Many of the treadmills can’t read heart rates, haven’t been repaired ever Other than that options of equipment, space is great thus giving 2 stars

Negative experience: I am the owner of a black card. I brought a guest with me, that is, a potential client of your club, to show all the services, after two hydro massages, I had to beg to turn on hydro massage for myself and my guest. Your employee (tall girl with blond hair with glasses) said that my guest cannot use the hydromassage, I agreed and asked my guest to wait for me on the couch. I approached the club employee 3 times and asked her to turn on the hydromassage for me. But this girl every time said me that she would not turn on me a hydro massage while my guest was in the spa area, but at that moment my guest was waiting for me on the couch. I am very upset that such employees work for this gym and I had a terrible evening at your sports club, my evening was ruined. Date 03 April 2024 time 9 pm
Fantastic experience: They have excellent trainer so nice and polite. Staff is nice as well. All washrooms and showers are properly maintained and kept clean Few machines need repair on serious note . Management need to pay attention towards that
Negative experience: Do not believe the cancellation policy !! Took me next to a month to cancel my Membership whilst being billed . Could not connect with a manager for that same period of time and was completely given the runaround . Up their with some of the worst customer service I’ve ever encountered . Crunch for Canadians is where it’s at , basically anywhere but this facility . Brutal. And In response to the reply from the planet fitness administration I read the cancellation agreement prior to signing up . I was emailed a vague letter stating I had to send a hand written letter to the location to confirm my want to cancel . Upon receiving this email I promptly responded asking for postal details and didn’t get any response. So I called the location and the employees weren’t able to give me the postal address until the bill for that month was sent . Incredibly shady and felt like it wasn’t the first time that tactic was used. I’d love to speak with whomever replies to this review but I don’t have another 2 months to wait in limbo .

Fantastic experience: AMAZING gym with the most kind hearted and outgoing staff members and the manager is absolutely amazing. Love working out in such an amazing environment and the gym is sooo clean compared to other gyms I been at before and so spacious and lots of equipement. Also they have a spa with crazy modern tanning equipment, massage technology etc. If your looking for a healthy gym environment or just getting started this is the gym you wanna be at!

Positive experience: Started going there about a month ago have nothing bad to say. Reasonably-priced for what is offered... always clean the staff is friendly and all around good atmosphere.

Negative experience: Manager and Employee at this location sucks. Third class service by Employees and specially manager is so rude. When it came to cancellation of my membership they asked me to come in person to sign paper work. When I said I am out of town they tried to give me hard time
Negative experience: Honestly the place seems to be getting worse and worse has the months go on. It was a great quiet gym when it first opened. Now it’s no longer maintained. The bathrooms rarely have soap. For months they were refilling the soap with water to make it last longer. Bathrooms rarely have toilet paper and are rarely in working order. The employees just hide at the front where there are no cameras to play on their phones. If you mention any issues to them they give attitude. Shouldn’t be our job as members to inform them of this. They should be actively on the floor and doing these checks. Rarely do you ever see them on the floor. The only time I’ve seen them actively cleaning the machines is when an inspector is in. They don’t have many male employees so I’ve been told the men’s washroom is atrocious. The machines aren’t maintained. Some machines weigh more than others, never oiled so most machines are starting to jump as you use it. And when you bring up issues to the management. Nothing gets done. If I could give a 0 star review, I would.

Positive experience: Very clean , Equipment in working order. Love the Black card perks. But they need to figure out the plumbing situation, I feel like every time I go there is an issue with water. The water was off and they had no bottles for customers to buy , Kind of annoyed by that.

Positive experience: Nice facility, black card spa rate is overpriced for the service offered. Weekday morning staff are awesome! Shout-out to M. Too many lunks and men who leave their nasty sweat behind, not cleaning the equipment after they use it.
Negative experience: The worst experience of my life, as a client they ordered me to leave the gym, they didn't let me finish my workout because I took my daughter and left her in the waiting room and she was watching videos in Spanish on her cell phone. . and that made them uncomfortable. I felt discrimination against my daughter, the manager and his employees had no qualms about asking me to leave with my daughter.

Positive experience: Great gym....no soap in bathrooms....2 weeks ago there was no soap either. Going to spread lots of germs if people can't wash their hands after using restroom then touching equipment. This is in both men's and ladies restroom. Also most of ladies bathrooms have been out of order since opening.
Fantastic experience: New gym and all the equipment is brand new and in great shape. Lots of space and still relatively unknown so there is always availability. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
Negative experience: Nice gym but everyone I go into the gym to work out the staff are always on there phones or don’t know much. Look like there are still in high school or just fresh out of school. Be nice to have a few older people working there that are more customer service oriented

Fantastic experience: The girl at the service desk was excellent at this location. I couldn’t get any help with an issue joining in Welland and they didn’t even want to help, but St Catharines staff offered to go above and beyond and help me get signed up. It turned out it was a small detail in the banking details. Thank you so much! I don’t mind travelling from welland to st Catharine’s for this level of service.

Fantastic experience: Best gym I've ever joined. Not paying for anything I'm not using. I DO pay for the VIP membership ($30) and I use everything it provides. Staff super friendly and my fellow members are not intimidating.
Fantastic experience: really welcoming place. super clean and not over-crowded. very open concept, so if you like a more private area then this might not be the place for you. the staff here are amazing though so that makes up for it. big shout-out to DeVon for allowing me to come in despite my app not working properly, give that man a raise!
Fantastic experience: I am a beginner, and I think this gym is perfect for that! The staff are always welcoming, there are enough machines for me to use (at least for now, I certainly think they could use some bench presses in addition to the smith machines), and I never feel like it’s overcrowded. The price is very reasonable for a black card membership, gaining you access to the black card spa, which is great! I don’t think I’ll be leaving here for quite a long time!
Positive experience: Very nice new and clean. Staff is amazing Lacks a lot of equipment. No free weight benches not even flat, or cages for Squats. There are 5 smith machines tho. The machines are lacking also. There is a few chest machines and a few rows for back. There’s a lot or cardio they could remove and add a couple things! I came from a downtown gym that just closed and that was a gym. This is a fitness studio. IMO. I get it that’s their thing I’m not chirping I just won’t last long here.

Fantastic experience: This gym is great if you don't like overcrowding like myself or the water-induced rented muscle type of workout people. Don't listen to the people saying it's a Karen Gym and you can't go in there and lift weights or put too much on a Smith machine or else you'll be reprimanded. That is the farthest from the truth. There is also multiple multiple different types of machines flat benches incline decline free weights dumbbells up to 75 which is more than enough for anybody unless they're juicing. If you choose to lift more there are cable machines and Smith machines. People are saying there's not enough weight which is another false accusation. The Smith machines are there to put on whatever amount of weight you choose to and no staff is coming running telling you that you were making other people feel belittled. So if it's a gym where you want to think that you wrote on Venice Beach then know this Jim isn't for you and actually if that was the type of people going there I wouldn't be going there because I personally can't stand people that stand and admire themselves in the mirror for 3/4 of their workouts. No one will tell you you can't put your water bottle on the floor beside the machine you're working out with as people are saying. The black card has multiple spa accessory better than most gyms that I have seen around the city. I've been to them all over the years. Most gyms like world Gym are so overpacked you can't move. I came from fit4less it's a small gym but has the same weights as platinum but the only difference is their black card doesn't have nearly as much as platinum. Then you have Premiere which is very overpriced and a lot of people with very swelled heads go. So if you're looking for a place to go get yourself in shape and get yourself good Gaines I find this place is more than adequate.
Fantastic experience: Decent gym, very friendly staff and extremely clean. Missing a lot of equipment but as my secondary gym to avoid crowds it's very good. Has enough to get by.
Negative experience: The place is nice on the inside with all the new equipment and the circuits. However the red flags here and really at every other location are just too much to ignore. Go watch the YouTube videos. Read the reviews. It’s a Karen Gym. They operate a “judgement free” motto and in doing so basically judge anyone whom may behave like an actual gym goer. The rules to regulate this are insane. I went in the other day for a tour and discovered that the rules stereotyped in all these videos that have surfaced are accurate. You’ll get in trouble if you grunt. Drop or put weights down too hard. Or appear or project in any way that someone who’s never been to a gym before, deems intimidating. No joke. This gym is designed for people who don’t really work out. During my tour the other day I discovered they don’t have bench presses, squat machines or barbells. You can use smith machines for them but when I asked why they didn’t have these things literally every gym should have (like every egg should have a yolk), he told me that they were considered intimidating. Quite pathetic really. I cringed hard. Anyways I thanked him for the tour. Not knocking the staff, they were welcoming enough. It’s just that we’re talking about a gym that has a rule against leaving your water bottle on the floor near you during a set. Karen gym, plain and simple. They’re like strict parents they WILL bark at you. Personally I don’t do well with that, hence why I’ll never set foot in there again. Treat a gym like a gym. You don’t go there to be groomed and coddled you go to get buff.
