Negative experience: Bought a drink from the vending machine that doesn't have prices listed. It costed $10 I kid you not. 1 star review just for that abhorrent scam, have some shame.

Positive experience: My husband and I enjoy going here. But for him he gives it a 3 star. Because the steam room is always broken and equipments are starting to tear in the grips

Negative experience: The steam room has been broken for over 4 months. I have asked them several times when they will fix the steamroom and they tell me that they ordered the part and waiting for it to get fixed. I find it hard to believe that it would take this long to repair. I pay a monthly membership and expect to have access to all the amenities. This is unexceptable and makes me want to cancel my membership. I could go to other gyms that have a working steam room. Please get your priorities straight and provide your members with the service and access to amenties as advertised.

Negative experience: No paper towel in any box at all , front staff is always busy in phone. Now they aren’t worry about health & all while they was making a scene in corona time , now they felt they are superior than a customers. worst service ever

Positive experience: This has been my home gym for years but I wish there was something that could be done about the theft in the women’s locker room. Even if you lock up your belongings or leave your water bottle to the side while you use the washroom, it will be stolen. There’s this older Asian lady who only seems to use the locker room amenities (never seen her in the actual gym she’s always in the locker rooms the entire time) and always has 2-3 large bags with her who I have seen on multiple occasions walking around the entire locker room numerous times. I also saw her looking into the private change rooms which makes it look like she is looking for belongings that might have been left out.

Fantastic experience: I have been working out at GoodLife Southpark for 4 and a half years now and it has always exceeded my expectations of what a gym should be. From the amazing staff to the ample amounts of equipment, I am happy to call this gym my home gym. The gym is always clean and I get the best workouts here.

Negative experience: **Disappointing Experience Due to Aggressive Sales Tactics** I recently visited Goodlife Fitness Southpark with a companion, and while I was seriously considering signing up for a membership, my experience was overshadowed by an unpleasant encounter with the gym manager (Andrea). As someone who follows my own workout program, I made it clear that I wasn’t interested in purchasing a personal training package. Unfortunately, the manager was relentless in trying to hard-sell one to me, using aggressive sales tactics that made me extremely uncomfortable. What was particularly frustrating was how he mansplained fitness to me, dismissing my program and insisting that the only "right" way to achieve results was by purchasing their personal training services. It felt condescending and disrespectful, especially as I’ve been successfully following my own routine. The most disappointing part is that this encounter overshadowed what could have been a great gym experience. The facility itself is well-equipped, with modern equipment and good amenities, but it was hard to enjoy them when I felt pressured and patronized by the manager. I’m still considering signing up for a membership, but I’m genuinely worried about feeling uncomfortable whenever this manager is around. If you're looking for a gym where you can work out without being subjected to hard sales tactics, you may want to think twice before joining here.

Negative experience: A few things will always be broken at this gym- 1)The men's steam room 2)Amanda, who is rude and will only greet members of her choosing. 3)The cleanliness standards- Vents in men's change room and the unfinished ceiling. If this review is still up 2 of 3 things are still broken. I went through old reviews and there is a clear pattern. This gym has a couple good personal trainers and a mix of above mentioned points. No action really seems to be taken to address the above concerns other than a generic response from the front desk and the person who responds to these reviews. Enough people sit in the sauna and complain, It is because of our Canadian "politeness" we do not make a huge deal about it. Show some appreciation to your members who're paying good money to attend your facilities and ensure all services are operable and upto standard including your customer service.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been working with Daniel since early June 2024 and he has been great to work with! He pushes me each and every workout and is super encouraging. I’m not only feeling better physically but it’s been a major lift to my mental health. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking to add a personal trainer to their workout regime.

Fantastic experience: Great space, nice staff, ample equipment and space. Best part is, 24hr gym so you’re never on a scheduled. Parking is fairly easy to find aswell. Fav goodlife in the city

Positive experience: Alison at this gym is the reason I attend Southpark. From bodyjam, rhythm and ride and now her new hiit class. She is inspiring offers all members modifications to the workout and pays close attention to make sure none are injured. She is just awesome. Also a shout out to Monica my favorite zumba instructor.

Negative experience: Honestly half of the machines don't even work and in the women's area like the machines are so poorly taken care of you barely can use even some of them. You would think that the cost they have for memberships that they could at least make the machines nice I mean it's pretty ridiculous they're like triple the price of planet fitness or fit for less but their machines are way worse

Negative experience: So we come from downtown cause this gym has better vibes and tanning . But this is the second time the lady at the till. Shorter blonde one during the day has made me wait over 30 mins. I tan for 6 minutes stand up. She tells me at 3:01pm I have to wait till 3:30pm. When I sit down she gives me extreme attitude and says “well what is it are u gonna wait that long or not” This is the second time she’s treated me with disrespect and I don’t know where she learned manners or has kept a job at all. When the lay down was available I walked up and said was the appointment for 3:15? She replied “yup I don’t want anyone waiting” which I then replied “i had way more then enough time for 6 minutes” Then she proceeded to lie and said I came at 3:07… which I checked the clock in front of her when I asked and it was 3:02pm… I don’t understand why she has attitude and a power trip when it’s a god damn gym.

Negative experience: This is the 2nd time the little red head blonde girl with the glasses has been rude and given us attitude. I think her name starts with an A.. Amanda? My husband asked at 3:00pm if he could use the stand up tanning bed. She said no. And he said “I only tan for 6 minutes” (he only can tan for short periods of time due to health concerns) she then got snippy with him and said “no I have someone coming at 3:15 you can wait for the lay down or wait until 3:30” So my husband waits for the lay down to be done. Which I was in.. I get out and I look at my watch and it’s 3:06pm my husband tells me about their interaction & I just walk up and confirm if there was someone booked at 3:15pm and she said yes. My husband then goes into the lay down tanning bed. She approaches me while I’m sitting, and says “I hope you know I’m not trying to be difficult “ and I replied “ yeah well he asked at 3:00pm to go for 6 minutes which is more then enough time before the guy that is coming at 3:15. She then tried to lie to me unaware that I looked at my watch at 3:06 when my husband was still sitting in the chair. And she said “he actually asked to tan at 3:07” which is a complete lie. She was super rude and snippy! I then said not true at all.. she said “well that’s what my computer clock said! And I said “ well looks like your computer clock is fast eh” and the said nothing, shrugged her shoulders and walked away. Absolutely so rude and I’m SO tired of her being snippy to the both of us! This is the 2nd time. Unreal.

Negative experience: Men change room is a disaster many broken lockers part of the ceiling has bin missing for months, usually has soaking wet floors and smell a poo. Gym equipment constantly missing pins. Not well kept gym.

Fantastic experience: Shout out to Jason at this location, by far the nicest young man I’ve met. Excellent customer service and a phenomenal personality. Overall just a great guy. Negative experience: Steam Room: The men's steam room has been consistently broken for the past two years. This needs urgent attention to ensure it functions properly for all members. Showers: The showers in the men's area are reported to be smelly and dirty. Regular cleaning and maintenance are necessary to maintain hygiene standards. Ventilation: The ventilation fan in the men's washroom has never been observed to work. Proper ventilation is crucial for member comfort and hygiene Many members have raised concerns about these issues, but no improvement so far.

Negative experience: I love that it has lots of parking and 24/7. Never had an issue with the staff, but the showers always smell of mould and mildew. So they either need to deep clean the drain pipes or use a strong bleach.

Negative experience: Friendly staff and lots of equipment. But the dumbbell rack need to be actually put in ordered with the biggest on the bottom not up top for short people. The men’s change room and showers are by far the nastiest I’ve ever seen in all the goodlife’s I’ve been to. I don’t think the showers have ever been cleaned Update for 2024: The change rooms are disgusting and seem to never been cleaned up. Between towels, hair and people leaving their underwear it’s a mess. I going on three weeks now for them to change out a flashing light in the main area… maintenance or fixing equipment isn’t the priority of the gym

Fantastic experience: I travel for work so when I go to a city I always check out a handful of Goodlifes. This one is the best of the ones in Edmonton that I tried and I made this my "home gym". It has the best combination of popular equipment and is 24/7

Negative experience: Came in to this place to try it out. My buddies come here for workout. Wanted to try a day trail to see if I like the gym. Dylan told me to wait there. Someone should be with me in 10 to 15 minutes. I saw my buddies working out, went to say hello. Dylan comes by and starts swearing at me and telling me why I am in here. The language he was using was not professional at all. The worse first experience of a gym I ever had. The reason I came to try it out is cuz I have 7 or 8 of my friends regular members of this gym. This guy needs to learn how to talk to people. When my buddies came to talk to him instead of him saying he was wrong. He was still swearing. Instead of me joining the gym, my friends are thinking of dropping the membership.

Fantastic experience: David and Chris were awesome! From the moment I walked in, they greeted me with big smiles and made me feel right at home. Positive experience: Generally an okay play to work out. The showers could use a good scrub. There also seems to be a lot of delays in maintenance with some pallets and things in the cardio area. The staff seem attentive and friendly in every interaction I've had with them.

Fantastic experience: I’m really happy with my experience with GoodLife. I started a physically demanding job, and started doing preventative physiotherapy late last year. My physiotherapist strongly recommended I make a lifestyle change and that I start going to the gym. I got a gym membership at this location and paid for a personal trainer package, and the GoodLife manager recommended Cris. Cris made the gym less intimidating, and helped me include working out into my day to day routine. We started and ended every workout with stretching, which became really important later on. She also was really focused on form and gave a ton of tips and feedback on how to work out properly. I was dealing with some serious shoulder pain from my job. I was doing regular check ins with my physiotherapist, and she noticed a dramatic increase in mobility. She dropped me as a client eventually. She felt the effort I was putting into the gym, along with the stretching was enough. I don’t have shoulder pain anymore. No idea if anyone actually reads these reviews but I’m extremely appreciative. The few experiences I’ve had with the manager of this gym over the phone have been super positive. Cris specifically is a fantastic personal trainer, and definitely deserves some recognition. Thanks!

Fantastic experience: I have been mostly away from the gym for more than a decade due to an accident that caused me to pop my left kneecap while exercising at the gym. It caused me some serious anxiety and long-term pain on my left knee. I did try to sign up for gym membership and personal training sessions after but nothing worked. I just became too scared to exercise and felt that my trainers never understood my situation. They kept on pushing me too hard without regard to my physical and emotional injury, which always made me end up quitting just right after I started. Too much money wasted. And then just over a month ago, I decided to go back again to the gym and gave Good Life Fitness at South Park a try. I thought of signing up for a personal trainer as well to which Cristina Rifo was assigned to me. I remember I was teary eyed when I explained my condition to Cris and what I have gone through since that accident in the gym a decade ago. She was so gentle and compassionate. She assured me that she will help me to slowly go back to the gym and make it a safe place for me again if that is my objective. Since then, she started training me slowly but surely. She came up with a Program that made me trust my body again. She slowly made me trust that my left knee will not collapse on me again and made me feel that I am in a safe place. With the exercises that she put me through, I slowly noticed the difference. The pain on my left knee was disappearing and I have been having better mobility. She explained to me that I have been protecting my left knee too much that it became stiff, less mobile, and thus the pain. She is so knowledgeable and made everything make sense to me. Today, just after my sixth session with her, I am inching out into the actual gym floor. After a decade, I touched the battle rope again which I used to love before the accident! She also made me step into the Stair Master which intimated me for a decade because of my left knee injury! She is really an amazing trainer! I firmly believe that I found the perfect trainer that I have been searching for in years! Someone who is empathetic, knowledgeable, has authentic concern for the client and will rally you through to achieve your goal. I highly recommend Cris if this is the kind of trainer you are looking for. She is so worth the investment to have a personal trainer! I can’t thank you enough, Cris! You are extremely amazing for making me be happy to go to the gym again! I couldn’t believe that the day would come that I would look forward to my training sessions! This is how training sessions should be! Keep doing what you are doing as you are causing such positive impact to people’s lives.

Negative experience: Left my runners in the women’s change room at 6pm tonight, called the front staff asking if someone could check since I already drove 30 minutes home. They said there wouldn’t be a female staff member in until Sunday. Since theft is well known in the gym, I drove back and got my runners. When I got to the gym there was a female staff member at the computer. She easily could have checked and set them aside for me. For the lack of better words, it’s just pure laziness from the staff.

Positive experience: Mostly good, except lots of men not washing their hands after going potty, also too lazy to wipe down equipment. This isn’t the gym’s fault but I noticed people with really bad BO, I have no problem letting those people know. I see these wannabe Arnolds standing in front of mirrors in the classrooms without shirts lol, makes me laugh. Trainer area roped off when not being used by trainers? The floor mops empty half of the time, should be checked regularly. Friendly staff, always greet you when arriving and leaving, some more than others.
Fantastic experience: I would like to say thank you very much to Andrea, the fitness manager who is so very kind and caring. From the time I spoke to her on the phone and meeting in person, is such an amazing person. She went out of her way to help with my personal training. She took care of my baby when I supposed to cancel my training session on one particular day when my baby's caregiver not able to make it. I cried how she cared so much. She even helped me put on my jacket when I was holding my baby. She is so helpful and have so much empathy. A person with very good soul and heart❤️ I can see her dedication and love for what she does at the gym. Friendly and nice to everyone. Not only she has great physique also, professional, respectful and kind. She is also like a life coach for me. During training session, I get encouragement, and life lessons that are so useful for me as a single mom. She is a source of strength, inspiration, and wisdom. Very empathetic person and compassionate. I remember how she listened well and hugged me at one instance when I was crying and very down. That meant so much for me Also, she understood my situation as a mother and able to work with my schedule. She is knowledgeable, able to help with my knees and hip pain. Now, I have less pain and have gained strength. Thank you so much Cris. I learned from you to take care of myself so I can be a better mom for my baby ❤️ I have felt and seen so much care and kindness wirh my personal training experience. I feel so valued as a person. Negative experience: I absolutely love Goodlife but this location was the worst one experience I've ever had. I've been a member of goodlife for almost 2 years and been to many locations across 2 provinces(all access membership), but this was the worst experience I've ever had. The lady in the front with the glasses also chose not to greet me but greeted the next 2 people that walked in behind us, which was really weird to experience. My brother was with me and I asked to see if he can get a trial day to explore the facility as he's not a member to be told "if you're looking to workout for free, you need to sign up for a consultation". I've had guests accompany me to other locations and NEVER had any experience that was so condescending or rude! I was about to pay for my brother just to realize thay i dealt with all that attitude in a place where all the facilities don't even completely work... (steam room out of order)

Positive experience: Solid GoodLife gym. Lots of space, but some of the machines could use a touch up. Usually decently busy, but it's big enough that you can always find a space to workout.

Negative experience: I got my membership cancelled after almost 2 years. It was a great start and so motivating to go here before. Since doing a makeover of the gym, the womens area also got smaller. The additional equipments made us squished and almost can’t perform a workout most especially at peak hours.

Negative experience: I would not recommend coming here . The negligence and incompetency of the staff is beyond me. You would imagine that you would be able to track down down a thief in a facility where you have to check into. I believe management does not put there members as a priority and I would deter people from joining this gym. You are putting your valuables at risk by joining this gym.

Positive experience: I live closest to this location and appreciate that this one has the Women’s only section. However, the equipment maintenance, paper towel upkeep has room for improvement in this area. The TVs are generally sporadically working, and are all usually set to SportsNet lol. Women’s change room needs a bit of love also and more regular cleaning.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to this Southpark location for a few years and I’ve always felt welcomed. The staff at front desk are very friendly, especially Amanda. She has a great memory of faces and names. Always ready with a smile to greet and wish you a great workout. When Amanda’s on watch, If there’s anything in the gym that’s lacking, she’s on it!

Fantastic experience: A big thank you to the folks working the front desk at GoodLife Southpark! Most are usually warm and welcoming when I come for my workouts but Amanda goes above and beyond! She knows me by name, gives me positive encouragement and always asks how my workout was. In an industry known for being shallow, it’s so nice to find someone who genuinely cares about the clients.

Negative experience: Edit to your response:- As much as I'd like to contact your helpline, what's going to come of it?If you took reviews seriously you would respond here with the timelines on when the steam room is scheduled for maintenance and acknowledge that you'd work on the lousy customer service. I know incompetence when I see it, I'd rather not waste any more time. In the last 6 months the steam room has worked for maybe 1 month. We're redirected to the staff/manager who have no real updates. They can open new locations but not fix the steam room. Also how is this the only location in city with a broken steam room and no sign of repair..Maybe we should all be getting some money back as not all facilities can be used? If you're someone interested in joining this gym make sure you do a full walk through, see what's important to you and check if it's in working condition. The welcome desk staff seem to pick and choose who they greet. Very corporate gym vibes.

Negative experience: Old facilities and equipment. Just renovated a bit and added some new platforms but lot of the cables and machines are out of order. Also there’s no training sessions happening but still got told to leave the trainer section when all other squat racks were taken. Figure it out. This is the worst location in the city

Negative experience: The staff are very unwelcoming and rude. The gym itself is outdated. Additionally, it seems the women’s only section receives the rundown/mismatched equipment. The change rooms and bathrooms receive little attention from the staff. Very, very poor gym. For $80 a month— spend your money else where.

Negative experience: I had a highly frustrating experience with GoodLife Fitness. They initially transferred my account to a different gym due to a system glitch, which was inconvenient. Then, they terminated my membership without notice. When they reinstated it, membership enrolment fee was added + first and last weeks fees in the contract, and my bi-weekly payments went up. The entire team knew they needed me to sign a new contract but not 1 person could explain why these extra charges are on my contract. I understand glitches happen but what disappointed me the most was the lack of confidence from their representatives in resolving these issues. A gym should be an uplifting environment, but I found this experience to be quite the opposite. I was told by one staff they will e-mail the manager about my concern, however I never heard back from her. I had to reach out to their 1800# and connect with their twitter team and then I'm asked "to show patience and understanding with their team". I was finally able to get some sort of a resolution after over 2 weeks of going back and forth. Hopefully GoodLife Fitness can improve its customer service and communication to prevent such issues in the future.

Negative experience: Worst experience with good life fitness employee (sagar). He do not know about deal with customer. I simply said I wanna add my brother with my cooperate membership. But he said we don’t do here. Even I came last day and morning shift said you can add and bring your brother with you but rude sagar didn’t allow us to enter. He should not be at front desk.

Positive experience: Okay I hated this gym at first but they’ve made a lot of improvements. Love the new platform squat racks they’ve added. 11 in total at the moment. Looks like there is enough space to add one more. I love the new equipment they’ve added as well like fresh new dumbells, more cable lat pull downs and rows, TRX bars and even a hip thrust machine which is pretty cool. Downside's about this gym is that it gets pretty busy around 4pm-9pm, mats really stink, and steamroom doesn’t work. Ayo. If yall don’t fix ur steamroom soon imma give this 1/5 stars istg.

Negative experience: Never go to good life. They give you a false information regarding cancellation of your membership at the beginning. And, when you cancel it they will charge you $50 fees. That’s crazy.

And they charged my bank again and they told me i have to pay for last payment which I ALREADY DID!! look for a different gym a piece of advice . Negative experience: Sagar is a staff member at GoodLife South Park who consistently goes out of his way to make me feel uncomfortable because I declined his incredibly unprofessional invite to go out on a date. Ever since that time, he has gone out of his way to ignore me when I walk through the door and glares at me when I leave. It’s so uncomfortable and unprofessional. I’ve never experienced something like that anywhere else in my life.

Negative experience: I’ve had a poor experience trying to signup for a membership. For almost two weeks, I haven’t been able to complete the signup online or at the gym. Yesterday, I dropped by the gym to talk to someone about signing up. A staff member gave me a phone number and told me to call the number if I had issues signing up online.

Negative experience: Wanted to try the gym out with 2 friends that are members. There was no option for a try out visit although the website says I could get a week to try the gym out. They wanted me to pay $25 for a drop in. Bearded gentleman seemed like he could care less. We ended up going to a different gym that evening for our workout.
