Fantastic experience: Most important and absolutely lovable about PF at Market Mall Saskatoon is the courteous staff, the maintenance, the ambience and not to forget the mention of a super excellent manager!! I love this place
Fantastic experience: As a person who uses ‘free weights’ in their work outs, I was pleased to see the amount of equipment available that supports my workout style. The gym would strongly benefit from having at least one squat rack though (rather than only having smith machines) to expand accommodating more work out styles. Basic membership worth it very much what a gym should cost.
Negative experience: worst PF branch in all Canada ! the layout is like a maze, but the worst part besides the rude staff is there is no water fountain to fill your water bottle ! what on earth even gas station have that , just so you be forced to buy their 5x priced water bottles ! it is insane people actually pay for this place ! horrible place, stay away !

Negative experience: Specifically calling out the Market Mall PF here, not the north end one... Good effort pf Saskatoon South, but you might want to work on the following. -little to no parking -machines are always filthy -spray bottles and paper towel dispensers broken everywhere -idle staff avoiding eye contact when you come in (it's kind of just, weird) -locker rooms are dirty and cupboards are constantly falling apart -no soap in the spray bottles -tiny gym, over packed with equipment -staff is unhelpful when asked for specific information regarding workouts (the manager specifically) -I don't think i have ever seen a clean locker room -staff are not holding its members responcible for failing to clean and treat equipment with respect I feel terrible leaving this review but I cannot say any of this is a lie and it is what it is. I brought all of this to the employees and nothing was ever done about it. So, if you enjoy this gym, don't let me ruin it for you. Have fun!

Negative experience: I've been a regular at the Circle Drive location for the past six months, going almost every day, and decided to switch things up and try the Preston location. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The manager at the front desk was unwelcoming and had a poor attitude when I interacted with him. It honestly felt like I was in a completely different gym altogether. The customer service at the Circle location is excellent, and I would recommend they train the Preston location's manager in the same way. I really hope they address this, as good customer service is key to making members feel welcome.

Fantastic experience: I don’t understand why this place is never jam-packed like motion fitness or GoodLife. Nice variety of machines and facilities are fairly well kept. Only complaint is that there is one leg press and unfortunately no heavy bags (would be nice to punch and kick a bag now and then). Memberships here are so cheap I will never go anywhere else as long as I’m living in Saskatoon! Very friendly staff too.

Negative experience: I had to put a hold on my account due to surgery. I was told the manager was not in so he could not do that so I told them to cancel because I can’t use it anyways due to the surgery. Not only did they cancel my account they charge me an extra month and said they have to do that and if I want to use it for a month then I can. If that’s their policy, that’s their policy. Very disappointed and it’s definitely not a way to have a customer come back and renew.

Fantastic experience: I love how it has a huge variety of people - not just gym jocks. There’s a big range in age and ability and that makes it much more comfortable. It’s also really clean and there are enough options for machines without it feeling crowded. I also love the hydro massage and massage chairs. And the staff all seem to be friendly.

Positive experience: Very good price, all locations I’ve been to are great but at Preston location there is one employee who is a middle aged man with dark hair that walks around the gym staring at people. As a woman it definitely makes me uncomfortable but if you can avoid working out at these times you’ll be good.

Negative experience: The gym as a place is not bad, but the stuff are completely zero, the stuff don’t know the laws and rules of their gym, each of them has their own rules, which is why I don’t recommend this gym.

Negative experience: I haven’t been to a planet fitness for 4 months, I moved to Edmonton, was told I could cancel my membership at any planet fitness. Now I gotta send in a letter or go back to Saskatoon to cancel my membership.

Negative experience: Cleanliness in the locker rooms is lower than one star its gross. They only let you cancel by coming in person or mailing a letter. Sounds like a greasy trap even after 12 months has lapsed. Better places to go for sure
Negative experience: On March 25, 2024 I spoke with Eric Altrogge. My concern was having been over charged on my account for two months. My gym buddy can vouch for this as we signed up at the same time. She has not been over charged. Eric refused to carry on a conversation regarding the issue. Eric's repetitive answer was "no". No explanation. He was extremely rude. I am an elderly female. I do not appreciate being treated like I am deaf and stupid. Many of the patrons at this location are elderly. Does he disrespect all of them or just the women? I asked for his name and his supervisor's name (several times). He would not provide them. Unbelievable! Obviously he was afraid of being reported. With good reason!!! He treats his staff and clients rudely and in a condescending manner. He does nothing but stand behind the desk in front of the computer and usually on his phone. He does not make eye contact when approached or in conversation (with employees and clients). Eric never ventures out into the gym. The Preston location has certainly deteriorated under his management. Machines are not repaired in a timely manner. The gym is not clean or well managed. His actions take away from the old positive gym experience I have enjoyed in the past. Planet Fitness, you can do better!
Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member here for over a year, and I cannot say enough great things! I’m always greeted with a smile and made to feel welcomed. The manager at this location should be very proud of his staff. I can say that the cleanliness of this location is also fantastic. There is always someone dusting, wiping, or mopping, and not just the staff, I see the manager doing these duties as well! I live in Evergreen and have many closer gyms to chose from but I wouldn’t switch , for obviously the above reasons I mentioned. Negative experience: I was spoken to in a very disrespectful manner by an employee. I am an older adult who had a hard time getting to the gym and I was so proud that I made it there after paying for more than a year and not attending the gym. The person was strutting around the gym in a white shirt and dress pants talking on the cell phone when he publicly approached me and humiliated me in front of other members. I learned later after trying to file a formal complaint he was the regional manager. There was a lack of acknowledgement and it was obvious they cover for one another. Very disappointed.

Negative experience: The gym had a nice environment, but your employee Eric did not give a friendly impression. His tone was condescending and assertive. I personally do not want to feel like I am being talked down to by an employee. Two customers walked in with shoes, and he used the same tone instead of politely asking them to remove the shoes. Positive impressions go a long way in customer service.

Negative experience: The manager is rude and dismissive. He wouldn’t honour offers that were displayed on the site, along with his rude personality made for a very annoying encounter. If the offer had been invalid I would have understood but he simply said “it’s policy” and refused to listen when I showed him the website. Anyways over all the gym is ok but that one manager ruins the whole experience.

Negative experience: The primary issue is the excessive dirtiness of the place, with dusty mats, floor and equipment. There's consistently a queue for equipment. People walk in with their outdoor shoes and employees are chatting together at the counter! It seems they could manage this disrespectful behavior to maintain cleanliness. Additionally, the women's lockers are most of the times dirty from mud due to outdoor shoes being brought in. Soap in the women’s bathroom (shower area) is empty most of the time! In my opinion, a crucial addition to any gym would be a scale. There are insufficient mirrors in the gym as well.

Here at Planet Fitness, we recognize that the number on the scale can be deceptive. Sometimes making you feel that you’re not making progress even when you are! We don't want our PF family to ever feel discouraged so we're keeping it in the closet for now. After all, your weight is affected by far more than just your fat or muscle!
Negative experience: On Mar 3/2024 they have closed the gym with 5 min notes! Never let people to finish there exercises. I have canceled my membership! Will never go back there!!! Not recommended!!!

Negative experience: These people don’t make it easy to cancel a membership. Tried calling them directly and was told I need to mail a written letter with my reason for cancellation. Can’t cancel online or with email even tho I live out of province. Horrible customer service!!!

Fantastic experience: We enjoy making visits to planet fitness on a regular basis for health and enjoyment! The cardio machines, strength training circuit, along with red light therapy, massage chairs, and hydro massage beds are all very beneficial!

Negative experience: I read that more people are complaining about the white person in gray shirt (maybe a manager). I agree with those comments, such an unpleasant person to talk to. On the contrary another staff in purple shirt was showing great customer service skills.

Negative experience: I'll be going to the Circle Dr location from now on. It's unfortunate how the staff don't seem to care about anything going on except their phones. 3 of the paper towel dispensers were empty and nobody monitors the 30 min circuit. All high school kids not following the rules.

Positive experience: Love this place!! Wonderful, except the hydo massage chairs are definitely more a lot poorer than the new ones on circle drive. However the red light therapy room is much larger, and nicer at this location.

Negative experience: This is the dirtiest, least functional (multiple broken machines/equipment) and poorly operated gym in Saskatoon. When it opened it was great but it has significantly gone down hill since. The north location seems to be run better and cleaner but it’s still new so time will tell. If you use this gym, do yourself a favour and wash your hands frequently while working out. Do better Planet

Negative experience: I had a very disappointing encounter at the Planet Fitness location on Friday, November 3rd, at 10am. The manager, a tall, brown-haired white man in a grey jacket, treated me with complete disregard. He was engrossed in his phone, ignoring my presence, and when he finally acknowledged me, it was with a dismissive attitude. This experience left me feeling extremely uncomfortable, to say the least. It's disheartening that such behaviour would come from a manager, and it certainly discourages me from considering any future visits to a Planet Fitness location :( I do love the rest of the staff but this experience left me feeling very uncomfortable especially as a woman in a male-oriented environment.

Positive experience: the white guy working this morning (10am nov 3rd) was a jerk while i was cancelling, on his phone when i walked up and seemed annoyed he had to help me. The rest of the team has always been very pleasant and i love the gym overall i just didn’t appreciate the passive aggression from that loser of an employee. He was wearing a grey jacket so he may have been a manager if so… he shouldn’t be (three stars are because i actually do enjoy the gym itself and the rest of the team)

Negative experience: I started my membership in the late spring of 2022. I was only able to utilize that membership a time or two before I suffered a subaracnoid brain bleed. I was left partially paralyzed, couldn't walk very well, etc. A few months after the bleed, I had someone contact the gym and ask if we could some how cancel the membership because of the circumstances, we were told no because it was a legally binding contract. Fine. Just a few months ago I realized I was still Paying for this membership (my memory is shot now) I called and asked one of the employees if there was a way I could possibly get refunded for the last 4 months of the membership because I can't and won't be able to use the gym. "He said, there's nothing we can do for you, if you want to cancel, come in before the 10th of any month and cancel. " I then asked for the owner/ manager to contact me and no one ever reached out. The staff at this gym are extremely ignorant, they have lousy customer service and I DO NOT recommend them at all.

Negative experience: I would have given 0 star if possible. Worst experience from staffs. The lady named Jeina and the manager was really rude. Not a customer friendly location. Manager’s attitude was like we were working out for free. Not clean at all. They just have 1 guy who cleans gym while closing after leaving entire day dirty. No paper towels available. Machine are broken all the time. When ask for repair, they claim like “we booked machanic- but they need to come from Regina”. I don’t understand how people still comes here. They even closes early. Especially 7pm during weekends. Black card membership is really a scam. They charge double the membership fee for black card member. I have been a loyal member for last 2.5 years. Still then they don’t have a personal trainer available. Even though they publish advertisements stating free personnel trainer. Whenever I ask for it, they says “when had 1 lady 2 months ago, she quits”- they were repeating this same dialogue every single time when I ask in this 2 years. But today when I ask for it, manager says “if you wanna work out by yourself, just go for it. Or else you can quit gym.” It’s totally disappointed.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been really impressed with my experience at Planet Fitness Saskatoon! The gym is always clean, and the staff are super friendly and welcoming. The equipment is well-maintained, and there’s a wide variety of machines, so I never have to wait long to get a workout in. I also love the Judgment Free Zone atmosphere—it makes working out comfortable, no matter your fitness level. and the membership price is very reasonable for everything you get.

Negative experience: I was really offended when a staff member asked me to SHOW them my goggles after I confirmed I had them! I know the company policy requires the staff to ask any gym member who wants to use the total body enhancement if they have protective eyewear. But what really offended me was that they did not trust me when I said I had goggles! I have purchased my goggles from one of the staff members who was present when the “questioning” happened. I use the total body enhancement whenever I come to PF, and I always wear goggles and confirm to the staff that I have them. After all, I do care about my health and my eyes! (Which seems to be hard to understand for some people!!!) This experience made me so sad, I couldn’t do my workout, and I left immediately! I’m not sure if I want to go back to PF!

Negative experience: Four days were enough to build the impression. The gym has anti bodybuilder culture/philosophy: do not drop the weight, be quiet, even the size of the water jar is limited. 75lb heaviest dumbells and the absence of chalk just pale in comparison. I have been working out in many gyms in several countries during the last five years and I can't remember the image of bullying bodybuilders PF draws to the customers. Athletes remember themselves being beginners and nobody judges you, or gives you a feedback until you are about to hurt yourselves (which is kindness from my perspective). There is a rule in PF that forbids wearing string tank tops due to gymtimidation. But when girls are doing exercises in sport-tops or tight leggings, it is not gymtimidation. Don't take me wrong, I am not against it, but the rule should be equal for all genders. Otherwise, it seems to me like sexism. And to be fair, I need to mention the good sides of PF. They have a calisthenics corner, and fresher and cleaner equipment, the membership is comparably cheap. In short, if you want to work out beyond your limit, you need to find another gym, but it is a good place if you are just a beginner or want to stay fit.

Positive experience: A decently clean facility. Some of the younger staff need to work on their professional appearances and mannerisms. Also, I wish some of the gym goers would stop mocking some of the elderly and people trying to lose weight. Other than that? Pretty good place to go.

Fantastic experience: I really enjoy working out here because I'm not into listening to grunting, weight dropping, and show offs. Sometimes I wish people would be more in control of their weights even on machines instead of letting them drop. But most of the patrons are very respectful of each other. They could really use a dedicated calf machine because the Preston Planet Fitness doesn't have one. The staff are super friendly.

Negative experience: I would never go back to this place again or recommend it to anyone. If I can give zero star rating, I would. Joined the membership in March 21st. After over a month, I decided to cancel my membership because my company offers a free gym at work. I was aware that members would need to pay for the annual fee of $49 dollars no matter if you are a monthly-basis membership. In my opinion, that annual fee is a big scam to up charge for what they call only-15 dollars-per-month membership. Anyway, I called in to check whether I can cancel the membership over the phone or I have to be there in person. A lady picked up the phone and told me that I still likely have to pay for the annual fee which would be billed on my bank account on 1st of May and the reason for that was I didn't give them a cancellation notice of 7 days in advance before the annual fee charging day. Interestingly, not one even told me about that on the day I joined the membership and I told the lady that too. Then, she said there was a manager there, if I can go there to cancel the membership, they could help me out or do something with the annual fee. When I went there, the lady was also there but she referred to a front desk guy, his name is Eric or Eric A, to assist. He didn't help anything at all except repeating that that is the policy of the company, and that I still get charge for the annual fee even though that was from planet fitness's fault that they didn't tell me about the 7-day policy for the annual fee charging. His behavior was rude when I asked to talk to the manager as I expected before going there. I literally paid 2 months of membership (over $15 each month) and $49 for the annual fee for having 1 month and 5 days with planet fitness in Market Mall, Saskatoon. Be aware people! I would rather join membership in different gym center instead of Planet Fitness. They will find a way to hiddenly charge you more than what they told you on the ad.

Fantastic experience: I recently joined Planet Fitness in Saskatoon, SK and I have to say, my experience so far has been great. The front desk staff is incredibly helpful and always greets me with a smile. As someone who's new to the gym scene, their friendly attitude has made me feel comfortable and motivated to keep coming back. They're always happy to answer any questions I have and offer advice on how to use the equipment properly. I appreciate their dedication to making every member feel welcome and supported. Negative experience: It seems like the owner/manager is angry, spiteful and only after making the most amount of money possible, not having satisfied members, or following PF franchise guidelines. Rules for members in the gym are not enforced, there’s little space for shoes and they don’t clean the foyer only the inside so you’re covered in filth if you follow their giant no outside footwear sign. The massage beds are often broken, many of the staff are rude and more interested in chatting amongst themselves, snacking, or staring at a computer rather than checking me in or getting me a massage bed. Expect to wait for a number of machines as there’s only one of many popular ones while masses of treadmills and ellipticals go unused, and people who take over two machines at once l, alternating, while you stand there waiting. Also be prepared to not have the clothing rules enforced - I am really not enjoying how many people are allowed to dress there (no spaghetti straps is a non-enforced rule, and the attire is worse than that). I don’t need to see your entire butt crack, midriff, or forced eye full of your privates in short shorts as you use the leg press. The cleaning solution isn’t mixed properly or consistently (seems like only water at times, others a hint of pink, while during the pandemic it was clearly pink), no paper towel in the bathrooms, parking is a nightmare, and more. I’m going to try the other location as I’ve really can’t tolerate this one anymore.

Fantastic experience: I recommend this place , there is a variety of machines and you can find all what you need for your workout. And after workout you can relax and enjoy the massage chair or the hydromassage, I recommend both. The bathrooms are clean. No worries about the space there’s room for everyone, it’s a big place.

Positive experience: Good affordable gym! However I’m really upset they changed the hours last year. I used to go at night since I teach all day and have a second job in the evening. I’d end up going around 10pm. But now they close at 11pm on week days and 9pm on weekends. I went from going to the gym 5 days a week to 2-3 days a month due to hours. I might have to switch to a more expensive gym just so I can actually go again.

Positive experience: They were great when they had more hours and Market Mall had underground parking beyond 6pm. Now, between 5-8pm it's super busy and no parking. It's ok for your basic gym needs, but definitely not as convenient or as accessible as before.

Fantastic experience: My experience with PF has been very positive so far. Staff at both locations are amazing. The hydro massage is definitely a great feature that PF has. I also love the option that I can bring a guest anytime. The only improvement I would recommend is to make the spa more accessible, such as scanning the card instead of telling the staff each time. Positive experience: Decent atmosphere for someone looking for a quick place to remain active during the harsher winter months. Hours of operation are the only reason I'm lowering my rating, as pre-COVID there were longer hours and I hope those could be reinstated or lengthening current running hours. Overall, as a normal dude looking for basic to intermediate exercise needs, it meets the mark in environment, machinery, atmosphere, and the staff are always friendly :)

Negative experience: Won't return unless some things change. 1. Terrible hours. Why not 24 hours like every other gym? 2. Dirty showers and the curtains don't fully cover the stall. People walk by and look at you in the shower. 3. Handicap shower stall has no shower head. It's just a pipe sticking out of the wall. 4. It says judge free zone, but as a fat person, I felt like the staff were very judgmental. 5. It is very inconvenient to use the massages chairs and beds. You have to go find a staff member to turn the equipment on for you every single time. You should be able to scan your card instead of chasing down staff.

Negative experience: Decent gym that has mostly what you need for a workout. Massage area is also nice, problem is there is NEVER a chair avaialble. No one wants to sit for 10 min for a 10 minute massage but that always seems to be the case. The locker room tends to be quite busy and cramped. Always seems like you need to step over someone's gear or vice versa and shoulder to shoulder while changing.

Fantastic experience: The new location in Saskatoon is bright and has lots of room to move around. Even with all the machines it doesn’t feel crowded. The staff are all fantastic. They also do a great job keeping everything clean.

Positive experience: What I like about Planet Fitness is that its low key. It has a chill vibe, they have alot of equipment (that's definitely their strength), the machines are all new or nearly new and they have the massage and hydro massage chairs. It's not a huge or fancy gym, but it's perfect for a 30-40 min workout.

Positive experience: Friendly staff, clean environment, my only complaint is the massive cutback in hours. A major perk I signed up for was the 24 hour access, which was removed during Covid. It would be nice to see this reinstated at least a few nights a week.
Positive experience: Not a bad gym, usually isn't too busy.
Negative experience: They say they don’t want to give any judgements so they don’t have weight scale in gym but they have weight written on every machine. WHAT ABOUT JUDGEMENT Now !!! That alarm is so demotivating

Positive experience: Best Planet Fitness in Canada by far! ... great variety of machines and lots of space... Staff are very kind, friendly, and professional....But I'm only giving it 3 stars because for me... they close way too early on the weekends ... miss when it was 24 hours on weekdays.

Negative experience: The selection of equipment is decent and in good condition, however, they do not have a bench or squat rack. They advertise the price as 15/month, however, with the annual fee it is closer to 20/month... still cheap, but dishonest. There are cheesy slogans all over the walls saying things like "judgement free zone" but, hypocritically, they also have signage intended to embarrass people who lift heavy. Hours of operation are below average. In the summer they let high school kids in for free which makes it very crowded. Lots of parking and decent location. You are required to bring your phone and download an app to be let in.
