Our gym is renowned for its friendly staff who are eager to assist members, creating a positive and judgment-free environment. Many users appreciate the cleanliness and overall maintenance of the facilities, often noting the extensive range of cardio equipment available.
Despite the positive aspects, some members have expressed frustrations about the crowd levels, especially during peak hours, which makes it challenging to access some weight machines. Additionally, concerns about equipment availability and maintenance have arisen, particularly with certain machines being out of order for prolonged periods.

Fantastic experience: Good gym
Negative experience: I go to the PF in Kitchener. They finally in Dec 2024 got new cardio equipment, which is great. It’s a very busy gym and the majority of users do not know gym etiquette. Very few people wipe down equipment after use. It’s disgusting.

Negative experience: I had a very disappointing experience with this gym. I canceled my membership in person about a month ago, after visiting the gym. During my visit, I was told the manager was on break and would return after two hours. A staff member processed my cancellation. However, despite this, I noticed that my account was still being charged. When I called the gym, I was told that my account is still active, and they could not refund the money that was deducted. This lack of communication and accountability is unacceptable. Based on my experience, I strongly advise others to avoid this gym.

Positive experience: I started here with my kid. It's a weekly visit. Friendly and helpful staff, if you have any queations. And usually, no one talks to you, so you're good to ignore everyone with headphones on/ in.

Negative experience: I joined Planet Fitness on Sunday October 6th, I cancelled a week later on Sunday, October 13th. The contract clearly states that cancelling within the first 10 days of signing up means I get a full refund. I paid a start up fee for my husband and myself and even though I was told I wouldn't be charged my membership fee for that month I was anyways. When I cancelled I was told I would be getting a full refund in 2 weeks. Tomorrow will be a month and I have still received nothing. I have called several times and each time I get a different person giving me different information. I was told again that I would be getting a refund when I called and spoke to a manager. I also had an employee call me later to confirm my address and said a check would be mailed to me. I didn't pay all that to join your gym for a week. It feels like no one there is taking me seriously.

Fantastic experience: The manger john is very helpful..all the staff are very nice ..they have a really good trainer .the place is always very clean..lots of different equipment to choose to work out on.for those who in to.weight lifting there is a great section for that.all age groups go to this gym..I never had any problems with staff .they always great you when you arrive.the price is very reasonable. There open 24 hours a day..I wouldn't go.to another gym.......

Negative experience: DO NOT GO TO THIS GYM!!!! these guys don't give a single care about you and the money they take, the person who helped enroll me. 1st made a duplicate account then i came back few days later then they told me since I wrote my signature and the employee processed it, its my fault and i have to pay. it took me two weeks to finally talk to the manager and all he done was give me a free month after i had already lost $100. They do NOT mention the prices when you join... "anual fee" they say $33 for black card but don't mention its 90 dollars for the first month. Take what you will but this location and the staff are questionable. not worth the money for such a unorganized gym with little to no room. SECONDLY if they are cleaning they wont say a single word and disrupt you while you're in the middle of something and start cleaning. YOU HAVE ALL DAY PERIOD.

Fantastic experience: Great foundational gym - can't beat the Black Card Membership for its value. The facilities are well-maintained, modern and proportional to the userbase it's targeted towards. Staff are friendly and helpful. I made a special request regarding the card and a raven-haired associate accomodated my needs without any hesitation. A+.

Negative experience: DO NOT TRUST them. I called them to confirm if my guest can use the massage facility before taking the membership. And the person said, yes they can use it. Then I went to the place, got a membership, and suddenly these guys say, the guest cannot use the facilities. If that was the case, why would they tell me guest can use it. Also, the attitude towards you changes the second you pay for your services. They are happy to let me cancel the membership when I talked about the discrepancy. "You're welcome to cancel anytime man", yeah right, you have my money for the month, why should you worry.
Hi Sorryadev! This doesn't sound like the customer service you'd expect from us. We pride ourselves on being honest and transparent with all our guests. Access to our Black Card Spa is reserved for Black Card members only. However, guests can access all the gym floor equipment for free! We hope that clears things up.
Negative experience: I called to cancel my membership but apparently I have to drive to the gym to tell them in person or write a letter to cancel. This is 2024! Who writes letters? You have no problem taking people's money online but I can't cancel this way. Terrible gym, terrible service. Save your money and go somewhere more professional.

Positive experience: Good starter gym, good environment, sometimes you have yo wait for a machine, but everyone is friendly about it. Nice judgement free space. Wanted to leave a rave review about Angie though! She’s always super friendly, goes above and beyond to connect to clients!

Negative experience: I love all these people complaining about the 'warm up space' it's a circuit workout and it's the best part of this gym - minus the fact that it has basically zero air-flow or AC and there are (contrary to what everyone else seems to think) ALWAYS people in there occupying the machines, not doing the circuit and mostly just sitting on their phones (just like everyone in the rest of the gym, including staff behind the counter). I'm not sure why ppl pay membership fees just to stare at their phones while sitting on gym equipment and not actually using it, but that seems to be the most common activity you'll find here, and it's incredibly annoying having to constantly ask people to move so you can actually do what everyone is supposedly there to do.

Negative experience: We have been members of planet for many years now…first in Cambridge and now Kitchener bc taymax abruptly closed our planet. Aside from the fact that this gym is now very overcrowded (and we do check the crowd meter before heading over) the AC has now been broken for a month and absolutely no indication from management about when this will be fixed We have no complaints about the staff as they are wonderful, but I think members deserve much more. Communication is severely lacking as even your staff aren’t being told what to tell their members. We visited planet in South Carolina when we were on holidays and the experience was vastly different. High calibre equipment, lots of space to work out and computerized sign in systems for the black card spa. Come on Taymax. DO BETTER! And as a response to taymax’s reply, it is very apparent that this company does not read reviews properly, nor do they give the impression that they even care. You take for granted that people will just keep their memberships with planet even when the whole experience is not up to the standards that clients expect. It also is very unprofessional that you shove every review back on the club management instead of backing your clubs by supporting their management and staff. After years of being with planet, we are shopping for a new gym .

Negative experience: AC not working for over a month now.

Negative experience: Went there yesterday as this was closer thank another expensive gym that go to. On asking at the desk about he prices and policy, was handed over w notepad without any explanation. Self service at its best. On requesting for a tour, We were asked to show ourselves around on our own. Interesting. Requested again, and the front desk member- who was deeply engrossed in a conversation with a fellow member handed over a form to be filled prior to tour. Filled it up. It was enough to lose interest. Not that the gym has best of equipment or good air flow. Its crowded to say the least. And the "help" we received was perfect to gear towards back to the expensive gym and pay more than double but have way better service. Thank you ! Tried liking it but naah pass !!!

Positive experience: The gym is decent and offers the cheapest rates in the area. However, it becomes extremely overcrowded after 3 PM, making it difficult to use the limited number of weight machines. Instructors are rarely available on the floor to offer guidance, and several of the good ones have left recently. Additionally, the PF Black Card membership doesn't provide good value for the cost unless you have a companion to join at the same time.

Negative experience: The air conditioning is not working for almost a month now and they are either not bothered, or not able to fix it. It is very bad and hot in the gym

Negative experience: Cancelled my membership after 2 years. This gym has too many members. No weights available. Cardio equipment is dated and doesn’t work. No air flow and bad body odour. The only positive is the great staff. Cannot recommend.

Negative experience: Too crowded place to workout now. Waiting to get on workout equipment happening more often now. They should have already utilized mostly empty space of quick 30 min. warm up area. Inadequate air conditioning + ventilation in hot weather. Working out becomes more sweaty and tiring. There was some sort of machine reorganization (to reduce congestion in core workout areas) to happen few months back but never saw that happening. Doesn't worth going there now.

Negative experience: NO GO Place in Short. 1. No fair management in effect: When I visited I saw certain areas very crowded with people plus closely positioned machines. Staff told us they will be doing a machine move around as per their plan. That did not happen. 2. They have a huge space where you can only go do warmup with TIME LIMIT. That spot is usually empty with barely 2-3 people on average while other core areas of the gym are bloody full of people. 3. Worst part: For most workout sessions, I had to wait till someone finish using the machine or there is literally a queue to use a machine. 4. Blunt and Careless management staff: I had stumbled upon medical issue and had to cancel the membership, they did not consider the fact that i have barely used gym for 45 days plus I was late by 6 days to cancel it. When I ask them politely to issue a refund, they kept repeating a line "when you signed an agreement, it stated annual enrollment fee is non refundable". I was even ready to pay for whatever days I used the gym for but they repeated the same sentence again and again. They act as a rigid business people, NO consideration of whatsoever for a human being. If I was treated right, I might have given a thought to go back to this location with my wife as well to workout but now Big NO NO.
Fantastic experience: Great staff really helpful I was there on wed may 1 and the entire team was helpful I had questions about the equipment and they guided me with patience. I had a question about my account and the manager was beyond accommodating 10 out of 10 experience I am going to stay a loyal client of PF Angie manny and Sean were amazing

Fantastic experience: This gym is extremely clean! I see a lady from front desk wipes and dusts all the machines and counters daily. Change rooms are always cleans, lockers are tidy. Lots of sanitary stations around the facility. A great basic gym with plenty of equipment, just wish ot had an extra cable machine area. However, there are no deadlifts or traditional bench press areas so if you are looking for that stuff , this isn't the gym for you. Lots of cardio , lift equipments to get the job done.
Negative experience: The business main moto is exceptional customer service and no judgment gym. I felt today while I asked for hydro massage that I have been racially profile for one of the front desk member. His name is Gordon and I asked him “Could you please turn on the one of the flat beds” his response was this is not how you say it. You should say “please turn on the hydro massage chair”. I felt so miserable and racial abused that I don’t belong here. I don’t want to continue where I am being judged or racism is present.

Negative experience: Disgusting experience all 10 times i have been, shoe box sized change room and 85% floorspace dedicated to old treadmills that barley function. Place also reaks of piss in multiple sections. Probably the worst lay out possible for anyone wanted to lift weights.
Positive experience: Pros: Professional staff with friendly behaviour. Some machines are good. Cleanliness is maintained. Cons: A decent gym for 16$ a month, but very crowded after 6 pm you have to wait for your turn and same thing at 6-9 am. Summer student pass is a con for other members because the gym gets busy.
Negative experience: Men’s showers have no hot water. Pay monthly for this gym and an annual fee , get it together.

Negative experience: Went to cancel my membership after moving and I tried to pay online and I wouldn’t let me, for a couple days I tried and it wouldn’t let me. So I made the trip in when I didn’t want to and they charged me late fees, I told them about it and they didn’t care and said there was nothing they could do. I wouldn’t recommend this gym as they are 0 help customer service wise.

Positive experience: I prefer going to this location at night time as its is less crowded at night, however I have noticed at night 2 old dudes come and HOARD machines for long intervals of time and also talk very very LOUDLY to each other like they re in a park outside. I pointed it out to the associate there but nothing changed. The company claim that they have LUNK alarm but they never use it. I also wear decent noise cancelling headphones so that I can workout in peace but it gets so loud that even wearing the headphones doesnt help. I dont know what should I do, I have literally changed my whole schedule so that I can workout at less crowded times which is at night, but these old men are ruining this amazing workout space for everyone who comes at night time. I just wanted to inform the management about the issue but the associate working at front refused to give me managers email. So, I am trying to get help here. Please do something about it as I pay the same membership fee as (black card) everyone else. I dont want to change gyms just because of this issue as it is very close to my place. Looking forward for you guys’ attention on this. Thank You!

Fantastic experience: I"ve been going here for 2 years now. The place has what you need and is open when you need it to be. The staff are always friendly. A sauna would be amazing. Other than that, you certainly can't beat it for the price.

Positive experience: Overall great place, I lovw the gym. For group exercises may be they can think of dedicated area with TV where they can run the same videos of cardio/stretching etc uploaded in app and people can join the classes onsite as Well. I personally feel it would be a great addition. Love the hydro Massage chairs. Broken equipments take longer to get fixed and hence the 4*

Negative experience: No equipments for heavyweight deadlights and bench press. They only have machines for that. No old school bench press or deadlifts.

Positive experience: Memberships cheap, If you go during peak times it's pretty much social hour. Everybody working on their phones instead of on the machines... If you're going to go to get a decent workout you got to go early in the morning or late at night

Negative experience: I have been a long time planet fitness member, and I love all the locations…except this one. The staff are always super nice, and there are some good machines, the problem is the AC is never on, and this location is smaller so when you have a full gym and no AC it doesn’t make a good combo. My workouts go from 1hour to 25 mins if that whenever I have to workout here

Positive experience: Decided to try the place out on a free pass, I was not impressed with the selection of equipment or the overall atmosphere. There were too many treadmills and not enough weights. I don’t think the gym was right for my demographic but some people might like it. The price isn’t bad but you still get more value from fit4less or crunch if you want a budget gym membership

Positive experience: This gym is good for beginners who need to learn the movements first and they have all the machines to help in that. They don’t have free bar for deadlifts and squats but it’s manageable. The monthly price is so low as compared to the facilities they provide.

Fantastic experience: Clean, friendly staff and quick to your queries and always welcoming, the only thing missing in the gym is the machine for forearms and bicep curls stand, and one extra cable extension for chests, rest everything is top notch

Negative experience: Beyond frustrating gym to deal with!! Cancelled my membership at the beginning of the year yet they kept on charging me. When I called to speak to a manager, all the supposably “notes” all the staff took for me was never passed onto the next shift person nor the manager for weeks. Manager was very unprofessional and kept on forgetting what the reason for my call was. I was always playing phone tag to find the manager. They still haven’t refunded me and told me I still owe them money… like no! Staff aren’t all trained properly including the manager.

Negative experience: Too much interference of staff , 2-4 people of staff stopping to use machines in gym which is not fare, if the machine is in particular area we have to use that. Even the same machine is not available in other area staff is asking to use different machine. Pls buy new machines or find the way

Fantastic experience: ME MACHO... doesn't exist here. Members, for the most part, are very curious and respectful . The cleanliness of the club is top-notch, from the sanitation stations to the equipment, which is constantly being cleaned. The front-end staff are quick to assist you, whether it be answers to questions or equipment instructions they are always there. The range of equipment available is one of the best I have ever been a member of, which is many over the years. The app is extremely helpful in timing your visit as well as keeping track of your visit date and duration. I thoroughly enjoy this club, and you will find me there 4 times a week. Be sure to check it out. You will be impressed.

Positive experience: It's a good gym, but they only have smith machines for deadlift, squats and bench. There's lots of treadmills for cardio, also you can get free personal trainer sessions which you can book on their app, that's a good thing. Evenings will be veryy crowded as in every gym. They also have massage chairs, beds, hydro massage, tanning machines, red light therapy machine. For these you have to get the black card membership. Overall it's a good, affordable gym.

Negative experience: This club allows you to cancel membership only by coming into the club or sending physical mail with the request. So if you, like me, get caught moving or traveling and want to cancel... they play this dirty trick on you. In my opinion, this is a completely unnecessary and slimy business practice in today's age with phones, websites, emails, apps.

Negative experience: I have been a member of planet fitness for about 3 years now and recently changed my home club to the Strasburg location. Today I was faced with something I have never experienced by any staff member at a PF. Being a single mom I tend to bring my son into the gym with me while I use the tanning bed, this has never seemed to be an issue as he’s under my supervision and never left alone in the club to wander or disrupt other club members. Today Angie a planet fitness employee decided to ruin my experience with the club indicating my son was not allowed to enter her facility. I was shocked by how rude and disrespectful she was. When I informed her he has never left my supervision she began to become nasty and disrespectful refusing to start my tanning bed until I left my 5 year old in the hot car while I tan. I politely asked to view my contract I signed where it says no children are allowed to step foot into the club. She was unable to provide me with anything indicating so. When I searched up PF policy online it clearly indicated that children were not allowed to be LEFT ALONE without parental supervision, not that they cannot enter the club. When I informed Angie of her clubs policy she responded with “I’m done talking to you”. Overall I was completely discriminated against for being a single mother and felt shunned for being in there. Plant fitness claims to have a strict NO judgment policy however an employee out of everyone in the facility made me feel utterly judged and unwelcome to use a membership I pay for. I hope that PF can do a better job on informing their employees on how to treat their black card club members with respect and flexibility due to differentiating life circumstances. Angie was unprofessional, ignorant and inconsiderate!!! If I could give her 0 stars I would. Planet fitness, do better with your hiring process PLEASE!!!

Negative experience: Been a member of this gym since they first opened, and this location has gone downhill drastically over the past couple of years. From their equipment, to their staff members,as well as the general hygiene of the gym. It's been a disappointment to say the least.

Negative experience: I have been waiting since January for a manager to call me back to discuss unadvised charges and then cancel. They have continued to charge me while waiting for a manager to get back to me and now refuse to refund me. Walked into the store today to speak to a manager and still somehow not one can be found. Extremely terrible customer service.

Positive experience: It’s a good spacious Gym. However, if you are serious about building muscle or getting a really good physique, consider other gyms. The place has so many cardio machines! Why this much?♂️ and a small space to weight training also no free weight squats racks and no proper equipment for bench press. I don’t blame the gym tho, they are cheap and people who just wanna stay active and fit can consider this gym.

Negative experience: Extremely bad service and arrogant staff. My wife and i enrolled for their black membership. We were coming back from somewhere and brought our 8 year old son with us. He was sitting in the rest area accompanied by one of our friend while we were doing cardio. One of their staff arrogantly said you cant bring kids here. I immediately canceled my membership. They should have provisions to accommodate kids as an exception. Not worth my time. Their equipments are pretty outdated and average. Please avoid this location..

Negative experience: My wife and I were originally members at the Cambridge location (closest to our home) until they shut it down. Now, the nearest location is a 30 min drive away. Also, we find that the Kitchener location is very crowded, hard to find (at times) available equipment because they're always "tied up". Very frustrating to drive all that distance and to have a sub standard experience. Right now, Planet is not a good experience for us. A year later now and this location still sucks. AC broken down they bring in a portable AC unit, and the gym is still stifling hot. The crowd meter was way off this time. It’s jammed in here. I was at another planet in the US and what a totally different experience. Kitchener location is lagging behind. Not enough room, old equipment and broken down AC. (Over a month now) Now I do not want to give the staff here a bad review. The staff are wonderful, it’s the company that runs Planet in this area, Taymax, that is cheapening out and giving members an experience that is below Planet Fitness’ brand standards.

Fantastic experience: Planet fitness is great gym. It is a smaller gym than most but you can't complain for the price. There is an annual fee, but all gyms have annual fees. There is no commitment needed to sign up. So for low price can try it out and see if right fit for you. The gym is clean and staff are friendly. I am always greeted when entering and leaving the gym! The personal trainer is knowledgeable and not only teaches you how use equipment properly but different techniques to use on machines. I always feel like I get a great workout after a class and its easy sign up for classes! The gym was packed during Christmas holidays and first two months of year but all gyms are at that time of year so no surprise! I highly recommend planet fitness and the classes with their trainer!!!

Positive experience: I do like this location it is very convenient for me. I love to do the 30 Minute Express Training. However, they do not monitor 30 Minute Express Training area and it makes it hard to keep the flow of your workout going. Other members who are not doing the 30 Mimute Express Training come go to the 30 Minute Express area and camp out on the equipment or take selfies. This impeids my workout and instead of being a 30 Minute Express Workout it become a 45 Minute workiout. So annoying!

Negative experience: Closed on December 26, 2022. with hand written sign on the door that it is closed due to bad weather. Weather is typical for mild winter day and with this action local gym management/owner sent me message that this gym can be closed 50% of winter days in Kitchener. Please check weather condition on December 26 and make your conclusion. Later after wasted hour of my time checked on internet and found explanation: "Currently CLOSED due to inclement weather. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please check back soon for updates!" This explanation will work in Arizona...maybe.

Negative experience: front desk always wearing headphone and looking at their phone. Not replacing paper towel. dirty washroom, crowded. I don't recommend this place.
Negative experience: CAN YOU STOP ASKING MORE PEOPLE TO JOIN PLEASE!! THERE IS NO PLACE TO EVEN STAND IN HOURS EXERCISE IS NEXT THING. Not a place for strength training Just ok for cardio( not great) i started coming to gym when the crowd meter showed the minimum crowd but still i have to wait for 5-10 mins to weights! There are very limited machine and there no bench press or free olympic barbell!!! Leaving gym soon!

Negative experience: This is the worse gym in kitchener. The water taps and washrooms are most of the times out of order. Even some machines are not working. Poor service. Staff must learn how to deal with customers.

Negative experience: Totally disappointment compared to Cambridge planet fitness. There are only 3 cable machines and funny thing is one is broken for 1 month and nobody doing literally nothing to fix it. Staff just placed label to cable written “temporary unavailable” I wonder when someone going to bother to fix it. 4 days ago the bottle filling machine is also broken and it’s still same. Cable machines are very few and there are still so much space to place another cable machine. Last month we all were waiting 5 people to make cable crosses now we simply can’t. If you considering to apply for membership and reading my comment don’t bother go apply somewhere else except you planning to go for cardio
