Fantastic experience: Has everything you need staff is great. Great flow class, gym is good. Not crowded.

Positive experience: Clean facility just reopened this week. The women’s change room got new lockers. Soft reopening weights coming in this weekend. The swimming pool and sauna is open today. Hot tub will reopen in two weeks. To celebrate their 50th anniversary free event and classes starting Monday, Oct 28-Nov 2. Check out the poster in the pic. Staff were friendly and nice.

Positive experience: Honestly cleaner than some of the other bigger pools I’ve been to. Amazing steam room, nice hot tub, and just overall a nice, small facility. I’ve been going for years and it’s still the same.

Positive experience: Great pool! Love the hot tub and steam room too. Just be sure to lock your valuables in the lockers up front and not in the change rooms.

Negative experience: How can you charge people to get in and then say all the pools have been booked.. that's like selling something twice if I did that as a business owner I would be charged with theft or fraud.. yet that all this place does. I was there 2 days ago and a life guard was yelling at this poor kid cause he wasn't allowed to swim while other kids were allowed.. completely unacceptable!!

Positive experience: Nice pool and friendly instructors but the water was freezing, all the kids in the swimming class were shivering the entire time. Some other parents said it was way too cold too. My daughters lips literally turned blue!

Negative experience: This place is nice and quit, not very crowded but the swimming pool is always booked for someone. They should tell people in the front when they can’t swim, I paid a drop in fee and when I wanted to swim between 7-8 they said it’s booked. That is plain stupid and they knew what they were doing

Negative experience: I have had to revise my review due to the extremely long closures of certain amenities and problems with etiquette at Bob Bahan. The hours of operation are shorter in comparison to other city facilities and this is a huge inconvenience. The city needs to pay more attention and care to this centre.

Negative experience: The second time when I came there they told me to come back for swimming registration for kids .But when I got there the one lady in the the front desk ,she WAS REALLY RUDE AND I asked her for registration for my daughter ,she told me it's already full .But it's already full slighty before 10:00 clock AM. My question is ?How could possibly full already , the lady she was really rude the lady ahead of us.There was another guy he's treated the same way as she treated us. And it wasn't really even busy at that time.Hopefully will accommodating people nicely and not being RUDE.

Negative experience: The red headed life gaurd should look for a new job, not with the public. Been going to Bob for years and always was super pleasent and had meaningful conversations with staff members. Recently I feel like I've been assaulted. Her harassment has pushed me away from city of Calgary pools, I drove out of my way to be supportive of the facility. She was rude, made faces and has a generally poor attitude. My constant request for her to leave me alone only enraged her and cause her to push me beyond normal human tolerance. Going else where is recommended. City of Calgary should reconsider her employment.

Fantastic experience: Swim lessons with our young son were great! Wish the water was warmer. The toddlers/babies in our class were constantly shivering!

Positive experience: Reasonable city facility. It has a pool with an ice rink in a separate building. I used the gym facility and it has a fair selection of machines and they are kept up. It is a bit smaller a room so there are not as many free weights as someone might want.

Negative experience: Very basic facility. Has barebones what you need. Gym is small, not a lot of equipment. I would like to see more equipment here in the future when they redevelop it and a bigger gym. Currently it is about the size of a medium sized locker room. Pool is good, has a hot tub and a steam room. Staff are very friendly though. The hours here are awful, they are never open till 9pm like every other facility. Tuesday and Thursday they don’t open till 12pm and Friday they close at 2:30pm!? I would understand if just Sunday they are closed, but all of this in combination makes you constantly looking at the hours to see if they are even open. My recommendation- if it’s super close to you like for me. Then yeah go here, if you can live with that other stuff. But if you have a choice, there are a few better gyms and pools that are not to far from here and go there instead.

Renfrew has a better steam but nothing beats the wholesome Loving community at Bob Bahan!!...thank you for being a staple in the community!!

Positive experience: I have been coming here every Sunday morning for years until the pandemic happened. Now that things have opened up, why isn't the pool opening up on Sundays again? Very sad about this, it was a favorite pastime for me and my friends. Please re-open Sundays!

Positive experience: Went to family swim today with baby. Staff was very nice. Water is quite cold. No boats for baby like some pools have. The change rooms have no where to put baby when changing. The men's shower was very cold water and the women's shower was too hot for baby. The family swim was full of lane swimmers which was a bit awkward and no other young kids or babies. But I was told I couldn't bring baby to lane walk even though that's all I would be doing. How come lane swimmers can come to family swim but I can't bring baby to lane walk?

Negative experience: Rude customer service An assistant asked me for my proof of vaccination, she didn't know there was a one dose vaccine called janssen from jhonson & jhonson recognized by Canada as valid vaccine. She said to me "so because you made it to Canada I have to accept you here with that vaccine" I am Canadian citizen and should not be treated this way just because some people don't know about the regulations If they work with public they should show good customer service and Politeness.

Negative experience: I thought this place would be great since I live close by and got a month membership, mainly for the gym and steam room. It’s not, it’s terrible. Multiple times people have come to the gym room with a speaker and set it up with offensive music blasting so loud the radio is drained out and no ones seems to care. I’ve been kicked out of the steam room twice by rude lifeguards who just open the door and yell “everyone out” when it’s just me inside. I don’t see a reason to ever go here unless you like being bombarded by terrible music in the very small weight room or getting kicked out of the amenities they list provided, that are open and no one else is using mind you. Will not be coming back.

Fantastic experience: The staff and patrons are great during an incredibly stressful time. We all want the pools to stay open in the midst of rules that constantly seem to change. I haven't been there in years, but the showers and locker rooms are nice and bright.

Negative experience: Our family has been going to this pool for two years. Up till last month. All the staff were extremely nice. I started taking my little brother who doesn’t know how to swim recently. He was excited to tackle something new and challenging. One morning there was a young woman there as a life guard who (as someone who has dealt with all types of prejudice and racism could tell based off of someones outer reaction to you) did not like the look of us. Smh. My brother was not only wearing a bigger life jacket but he also at one point held on to my by accident and pulled me down. Fortunately I was strong enough to pull away. When I can out from under all I see is this 20 something woman life guard yelling at my eleven year old brother. She was shouting in front of everyone in the pool(there was a pool workout class in session) about why he held on to me and to put on the right size life jacket. All I see is my brother leaving the pool and heading out to the locker room visibility upset and crying. My sister came up to me looking shocked as I was.We stayed in the pool for a bit mainly to give my brother and his little remaining dignity time to calm down. I took this time to access my next step. Do I go straight to the guard or the office and make a complaint? I decided the mature thing to do was complain to the supervisor why a grown women deemed that it was ok to yell at a child. The supervisor was not a lot of help. She kept insisting that my brother was fine and as she spoke to him while we were still in the pool. She insisted that I don’t take make any complaint as the guard will get into trouble. What about the trauma that the lady caused my brother. Also how dare she speak to him without us being present? Rest assured dear life guard our black skin will not be darkening this fine establishment any time soon.
