GYMVMT Fitness Club - Trans Canada Centre

Positive experience: I had a disappointing experience with GYMVMT Fitness Club - Trans Canada Centre due to their deceptive handling of the "2 weeks free trial" offer. When I signed up, they assured me I wouldn’t be charged during the trial period. However, their billing policy operates on a weekly cycle ending on Fridays, which wasn’t explained clearly. As a result, even if you’re still within your 2 weeks, you might get charged depending on when you start. Let's say you start on a Thursday, the next Friday you'll get charged due to 2 Fridays passing. Hopefully the gym is more transparent with this. On the positive side, the gym amenities are good. The staff are great, one i particular stands out, Harjot is an exceptional staff. I ultimately chose another gym due to its better location for my commute. If you’re considering this gym, make sure to clarify their billing policies thoroughly to avoid surprises, other than that the gym is great.

Fantastic experience: Have been going to this gym for years. The women’s section is well-equipped and the gym is very clean. The staff is great, especially Kim at the front desk, who goes above and beyond to make people feel welcome.

Negative experience: I do not recommend this place. They never give you a copy of the contract and they lie to you. If you try to cancel, they keep charging more monthly payments to your account. The employees say that the manager never has time to address a complaint.

Positive experience: Honestly, the gym is very special and clean by everyone, but in the women's section bathroom you feel cold, and the shampoo and conditioner are of poor quality.

Negative experience: Poor service, poorly trained staff. All they will do is hide behind the contracts to loot the customers. Worst experience. I was disappointed and frustrated with these guys. It's not a very clean environment.

Fantastic experience: I've had my membership here since 2011. I have a price that you can't get anymore. I also hold a black card from planet fitness where I can bring a buddy every time I go. I prefer gymvmt strength equipment upstairs, and I like my price. I just wish I could have a buddy with me that doesn't cost (a perk).

Fantastic experience: Would be it ridiculous to assume you're tired of crammed up equipment, dirty bathrooms/gym floor? Embarrassed to invite your loved ones to come workout with you? Not anymore! Cleanse yourself of this pain and Come, check out our new layout!! New equipment being added on a regular basis! Cleanest gym in the city/world!! When you finish your stress relieving workout, enjoy a fresh, clean, relaxing infrared sauna with top tier private shower stalls, body wash, and shampoo and conditioner included. If that's not enough, how about an Exclusive LADYS ONLY HER GYMVMT, in a separate private gym area so private we can't even take pictures inside! You'll have to come see the greatness with your own eyes! We got you!! You got this!!!

Fantastic experience: Although I only came for one day for the free trial, I have to appreciate how professional Julian was. Even if it was a free trial, he really spent time to understand my goals, and gave me some good tips. It didn't work out for me as I travel by transit and I usually don't pass by the area, but I'm giving a 10/10 for service and respect. Thanks Julian

Negative experience: The worst experience ever. So I want to do a drop in to do my workout . So I called them before on phone and asked about " do you guys do drop in? And the customer service guy told me " yes we do and it's $20". When I went there to do my drop in, the front desk girl took my details and told me to wait ,someone will come and see you. I clearly told that customer service girl that I just need a drop in not a membership. Still told to wait for long. Almost wait like 25 minutes long in the front. Later she herself called me to front and told me that you can pay $ 20 and do the drop in. I told her that " this is ilthe one I told you before, I just need drop in". Poor front desk experience , even the senior manager or male staff was there . He was literally listening to our conversation aside and didn't do anything. Simply standing and attended other customers. Worst experience ever. Never ever go back there. And very expensive drop in. Worst Worst . I thought I can tell my calagry buddies to join there, now I won't. I rather tell them to join world gym or golds gym.

Fantastic experience: I love this gym! They have lots of options for people like me who don't like machines; turf, platforms, and an area for calisthenics too. The sauna is big and the change rooms and bathrooms are super nice. Meagan so wonderful at what she does, and always remembers me by name!

Fantastic experience: came here to sign up for my membership today. Julian was extremely nice, friendly, and helpful, he gave me all the information i needed. The place is super cool and clean. Especially they have GLUTE MACHINES like hip thrust and squat machines, etc. that is AWESOME i'm exited to start working out here!

Positive experience: This gym: It's missing a dip / leg raise station, It's missing a preacher curl bench. It's missing a leg adduction machine. These are basic machines, that even low end gyms like fit4less and planet fitness have. Your other locations have them, Why don't you have them at the trans Canada location? Otherwise, it's nice and reasonably priced, and not too busy.

Fantastic experience: I am expressing my utmost gratitude for the immediate response and action from the gym management regarding the heat inside the zumba studio last week. Most of us are happy that good ventilation is back. It is imperative that we are in a pleasant and healthier temperature to enjoy the activity we are in. Kudos to everyone at the gymvmt Trans Canada location especially Trevor and Stacy for their immediate action to our complaint. The AC was was fixed after 24 hours! Alleluia! Again thanks a lot. This is in response to my review last week. (This was my complaint last May 17) Zumba room is still hot and humid. We have been complaining about the heat for more than a week but nothing was done (?). Zumba is a high intensity work out and this current temperature inside the room is not suitable for the participants. The more viruses will thrive in this kind of temperature, considering covid and flu virus are still around. This is not a healthy environment anymore. How can we enjoy dancing when it's too hot? Years ago I collapsed due to heat and they had to call 911. Are we gonna wait until untoward events happen? Also our membership fees just increased and this is what we get? Can management do something about this?

Fantastic experience: The gym is really nice, people and staff are nice and helpful. If it’s your first time going to the gym, I recommend this gym. I swear you’ll never regret it.

The facilities are top-notch, always clean, and equipped with a wide range of machines and weights to cater to all fitness levels. A special shoutout to Dynaya, who has been incredibly nice and helpful throughout my time here. Her friendly demeanor and willingness to assist with any questions or concerns have made my workouts even more enjoyable.

Fantastic experience: GYMVMT Trans Canada is my favourite gym to workout ️‍♂️at. The people at the front desk are always friendly, helpful and quick. I would like mention some excellent trainers. Steve & Jacelyn, Eljay are fantastic. They are very knowledgeable, amazing, ambitious and motivating. You can always count on their help with any questions. I’d like to mention Alesha & Kim and Megan are also very helpful, friendly and eager to help. If you choice this gym, you won’t be disappointed. All the staff & mangers here are great. Positive experience: Dynaya is the highlight of this gym!! She’s always letting me know what’s happening around the gym and goes out of her way to make sure I’m having a good experience !! I always get excited to see Dynaya every day with a smile :) Some feedback is that there are no sanitary products in the woman’s washroom which should be a basic necessity considering it is a women's only side. There’s no communal deodorant, body spray or hair products which I’ve seen at many other gyms. Wish the hours would go later and I’m left wondering why we pay the same price or more for this gym however don’t receive as much perks as other gyms ie. discounts at supplement stores :/ I also referred 3 people to this gym and just got plastic cups I never use …

Fantastic experience: I love gymvnt! Love that there’s a women’s side and a sauna. Dynaya is my FAVOURITE staff member. She is such a friendly face that makes me happy to come. The hours are my biggest piece of feedback though, I can rarely come on weekends due to the early close. Even an extension to 1am on weekdays and like 11pm on weekends would satisfy me. Pricey but it’s renovated and new so that’s good

Negative experience: I recently returned from a trip only to find myself deeply disappointed by the service provided by my gym. Prior to my departure, I had a conversation with the staff regarding the possibility of pausing my membership or receiving a credit for the months I would be away. I was assured that I would indeed receive my credit upon my return, and there would be no need to pause my membership. However, upon returning and approaching the staff about the promised credit, I was met with indifference and excuses. Despite their earlier assurance, they failed to uphold their end of the agreement. Not only was I denied the credit I had been promised, but I was also forced to pay for the months I had been away, adding insult to injury. This experience has left me feeling frustrated and disillusioned with the gym's customer service. Trust is paramount in any business relationship, and the staff's failure to honour their commitment has eroded that trust completely. Moving forward, I will be exploring alternative gym options that prioritize transparency and accountability in their dealings with members.

Fantastic experience: I literally would not recommend anywhere else. I get a laugh reading the 1 star reviews from people crying and throwing tantrums because they expect GYMVMT to keep up their end of the membership policies and clauses, but throw childish temper tantrums when the business expects them to keep up on their commitments. It’s also obvious that these are just malicious tantrums when there are multiples back to back and they get their friends and family who have never been there to jump on board and write one too with nothing real to base it on. Grow up and stop being babies and maybe you’ll get further in life and have better things to do than write these short stories of fiction that are so fun for us long term experienced members to read. I have been a member for a long time and I enjoy this gym. I pay my bills on time, completed my obligated commitments and don’t act like I own the place and have had nothing but a good experience. You will not find a better, cleaner, more equip gym at the price they charge. And the staff are great even when someone is throwing a tantrum in their face. I’ve seen it from the workout floor. Bottom line this gym is great for responsible adults who honor their commitments, pay their bills on time and follow through on their legal agreements they enter into. If you are not one of them, then this gym might not be for you. In all seriousness this place has changed my life over the years, so I get a little heated seeing this nonsense. All the entitled babies writing the 1 star reviews because you don’t get your way, you should be ashamed of yourselves and look for another gym that has lower standards for running a business. Everyone else, don’t listen to them. This place is the best!

Fantastic experience: I love this gym for many reasons. It is affordable, clean, the staff are good extremely friendly, and there is every piece of equipment you could ever need. However, the best feature of this gym that I cannot speak highly of is the Little MVRS Childcare. I started bringing my daughter here when she was 6 weeks old and it has changed my postpartum life. I am able to get a break from the baby with complete peace of mind that she is safe and well taken care of. The Little MVRS ladies are professional, caring and very experienced with all ranges of ages of children. My daughter is so happy when she is in their care and I get to workout in peace! My only suggestion would be to have the childcare centre open in the afternoons in addition to the morning. But I would highly recommend this gym and the Little MVRS childcare centre.

The staff from front end ( Aidan, Megan, Erica, Danaya, Julian and Trev.) to the trainers go above and beyond to make you always feel welcome. I belong to 4 gyms in the city, but I will always feel welcome here. The trainers are some of the best is the company and the city.. very knowledgeable.. shout out to Steve, Eljay and Jace,Mica, Dennis, Cody and Wyatt.., with many accolades under their belts. Only complaint is.. they could use more equipment.. like a chest supported tbar row, a plate loaded hammer strength shoulder press, a HS single neutral grip row machine, and another universal cable machine. They do hsve a section for booty building… which never gets used! Maybe move them to the ladies only section? That being said… even on my days off from work ( I work in the NE) I will drive from the Deep South ( were I live ) to use this facility. The staff and other members make this gym. It’s more of a community, no egos, people helping others. Well done TCM

Negative experience: I am very dissatisfied with the service and privacy policy of this gym. I had to pay for the membership even when I stopped going there. I was there only a few times and wanted to close my membership a year ago, but they said I couldn't. They also didn't want to freeze my subscription without a doctor's certificate, although it's absolutely my business why I don't want to go there. It is my own choice and they have no right to demand a certificate. I am terribly dissatisfied with the staff, Kim was very rude to me today and could not do her job properly so she passed the case to her colleague who pretended to really want to help but was very judgmental. There are many details that I will report on social networks because this service is the worst in my life. Be very careful when signing papers in this gym because you will have to pay a large amount later ...

Fantastic experience: I honestly love this place. I'm fat, and nobody makes me feel worse about myself than I already feel about myself they are kind here. The lady named Kim has been so good to me. Always friendly, and if I'm having a rough time, she'll motivate me to keep going. Aiden at night time is nice and makes you feel welcomed. My trainer is Denis and he is the best. He changes my plan regularly. He keeps you accountable and is honest. I'm so happy he is my trainer! My daughter absolutely loves child care and is sad she's in full-time school because now she can't see them regularly like she did last year. There are only 2 things that suck: 1. Not being a 24-hour gym for the selfish reason that I work shift work 2. The prices for memberships and training sessions aren't posted. You have to go and talk to someone. I'm interverted and really want to decide before I have to talk to someone about it. I'm happy to be a member here, but I don't want more people to come here because it's my happy place that I don't want to share

Negative experience: The customer service was very bad as if they don’t know what their doing and to add to that they lie about their payments, for example how much money you’ll pay and how much money they take also the cancellation fees is very over priced. Megan was not specific at all about the payments and cancellation policy, they tell you something and they end up making you do something way different.

Negative experience: The worst location, I showed them a picture of my mom's ID (she has a composed last name) and just because in another location they missed 2 first letters in her name (but the last name is still the same). They left us waiting for so long as if I am lying to them that she is my mom and she is a member, I've been a memeber for 8 months and my accounts pays for both of our accounts. Not sure if it's kind of discrimination because we're visible minority. Update: the manager keeps saying the name is not a match (implicitly accusing me of providing fake ID or lying), even though the first name is a match and the last name missing 2 letters only (which can happen).

Fantastic experience: I came in with a complicated issue regarding my account/billing. I was greeted by Kim and she was amazing - even though is was a long and confusing process, she walked me through it with ease and was very patient and kind. I had been putting off coming in to resolve my issue as I was worried about how much time it would take, but Kim made the whole process smooth and was very friendly throughout. Very grateful for her time, kindness and overall outstanding customer service. :-) I now am looking forward to my 5:30am sessions as I know i’ll be seeing her!

So I did sign up and DJ explain me What are the things to do to motivate myself. And I hired a private trainer because I don’t know how what to do. And steffni and she’s really good. I lost a few pounds because she help me a lot to focus and motivate myself. You guys are awesome… definitely recommended to this gym

Negative experience: Is there an option to give 0 stars? These people are just here to make money! and do nothing else. They are hiding the false information spread by their staff, and will throw terms and conditions, and contracts at your face when you try to talk to them. I told them regarding the conversation I had with their staff, but they asked me that if I had any written proof of that conversation. As if we go to gyms with a notepad. We signed the contract based on my conversation we had with their staff. But they are using these contracts as legal tools to hide mis information spread by them, and for their cheap money making tactics. Do not trust GYMVMT. They have zero customer service, poorly trained staff and worst part is that they will never admit their mistakes. All they will do is hide behind the contracts to loot the customers. Worst experience. Disappointed and frustrated with these guys.

Fantastic experience: I love this gym, very spacious and most of the staff and clients are friendly. Originally this was a 4 star, but the follow through from management was incredible. Always go to front desk with concerns, they are the best team here.

Fantastic experience: Sign up was super easy. Julian got the contract ready super fast. The female staff is super friendly so far. Gym is clean, easy to find a wipe if one container is out. Cleaning staff was working in the evening while the gym was open, great to see! I'd only complain about the app, no idea how to get access but that's not a point reduction on the facility.
