Fantastic experience: Great GYM, but it would be awesome if they add an area with punching bags and some martial arts classes like kickboxing or mma. I am pretty sure this would attract a lot of customer, no many gyms have this. This would be a great way to get in shape and connect with other members.

Fantastic experience: Everyone should support this place! I have been a YMCA member for over 20 years, and this location for just over 8. It is amazing how wonderful this establishment will make you feel. Throughout the pandemic things were very hard, but it is so nice to see them reopening and adding back the services they previously had. Anytime someone mentions there "Steve Nash" or "Fit for less" or any other random gym, I always ask them... For $50... why would you not join the YMCA? Swimming, Basketball courts, steam room, Weights, classes... its all included! No need to try anything else, just stick to the Y! Amazing job Liaa and Team

Fantastic experience: Very clean gym. I have been a member here for many years and never had one issue. There is a staff member from a cleaning company in the evenings who's specially great. The washrooms are always so clean, it is impressive for the volume of people. All staff is very helpful, friendly and they are doing a fantastic job managing the COVID phase.The gym can get busy at times (its because its good!) but you can always find something to do without feeling crowded. New facility and machines, spacious and great environment. Thank you YMCA staff, I appreciate you!

Fantastic experience: I have always found the memberships with any YMCA to be the least fuss out of any gym in Canada. It’s simple to suspend, cancel or change payment info and I don’t mind paying a little premium for this service. When compared to other fitness facilities, it’s rare to find such ease of use compared to other gyms that operate under the guise strictly for profit and not for the good and wellbeing of others. While I didn’t end up going through with membership application I found the staff to be super kind and accommodating, they answered my online membership form promptly.

Fantastic experience: I worked here previously at the family development centre of this location. I absolutely loved working for the YMCA. The values and what it does for the community at large aside from having the gym. Staff are super friendly, and the amount of training and knowledge that goes into the staff is amazing. We felt like a family and welcomed here.

Fantastic experience: Gymnasium courts, pool, and snack bar are on the ground floor, elevator takes you to the equipment areas, cardio rooms (spin, stretching, yoga..). Clean facilities, quality equipment.

Fantastic experience: A really excellent facility with friendly, helpful staff. I was visiting the city and staying nearby and I wanted to keep up my triathlon training that week so I popped in to check the place out and was really impressed by the facilities and how extremely helpful the staff were. I was an early morning user for several days and whilst it got busier, it never felt crowded. The changing facilities are clean and well kept. The pool is a good temperature and wasn’t crowded (other swimmers had a much better etiquette than I’ve experienced back home in England, frequently moving lane as new people came in that were a bit faster or slower). The gym and fitness areas are spacious and very well equipped. I was delighted to find a number of watt bikes. Though one small thing to note - don’t be tempted by the one closest to the cleaning cloth station. As handy as it is to put your drink down on that table, people seem to spray 50 pumps of cleaning fluid on their cloth which you can’t help but inhale. On future visits to the city I will be choosing my hotel based on proximity to this YMCA

Fantastic experience: The Robert Lee YMCA is great! I love it because it has lots of student discounts, that includes a full gym with a lot of machines and cardio equipment, plus a pool and a sauna to relax-in. What I love the most about the YMCA is the atmosphere. People are so nice and friendly which makes it magnificent to achieve your fitness goals. If you want to get in shape for the summer and meeting new people, you should definitely sign up. What you would find a little bit bad is that because it has good deals, it is really crowded in the afternoon. Therefore you would have to wait a little bit for the machines.

Fantastic experience: We had our 2-yr old daughter's birthday party earlier this month on the 5 Floor. Kyle and Harpreet were so helpful and charming staff members who set up our room, helped watch our kids, served cake, and cleaned up afterwards. We found the rate reasonable. Best of all, we didn't have to set and clean up afterwards.

Fantastic experience: Extremely helpful and courteous staff, gorgeous facility, and honest members who turn in valuable belongings. I lost my wallet and it was returned to the front desk with all $400 still intact. Membership fees are reasonable, considering you can go to as many classes as you’d like and group swim lessons and included. The premium membership is wonderful too if you’re looking for a home away from home, as it includes towel service, free supplies such as combs, razors, shaving cream, hair ties, Q-tips, feminine hygiene products, and Aveda hair products, not to mention the TV lounge in the changeroom includes a computer with full internet access and an ironing board with iron. If you’re unable to afford the regular membership, they have a financial assistance access program that can substantially discount the price based on your income, which is very helpful for those who need to improve their health the most and have trouble affording it. They also have free trials and promotions happening all the time. This location truly is a wonderful place to attend, and with the help of the super friendly staff, I feel proud to call the Y my home away from home. The only issue I have here is that I have no excuses to put off exercising now!

Fantastic experience: very clean community place. staffs are really friendly which no aggressive sales attitude. hot tub and pool area are maintained nicely. however- like other recreation centers afternoon and nights is very crowded. if you planning i would recommend during 4 pm-6 pm

Fantastic experience: I love swimming and I came to Vancouver for 3 months, I wanted a place to swim and got to the YMCA. And I'm actually really greatful that I did, the pool and hot tub are awesome and you can always get in, without waiting. There's some hours that are more crowded than others, but it is actually a very nice place. Showers are good and staff is nice. Also the price is pretty reasonable.

Fantastic experience: Great gym - very inclusive. Have encountered very few grunting and groaning meat heads in the weights section compared with other gyms. The only complaint I have is that during "open swim" people get pretty upset if you don't swim laps in orderly lanes...but that's more a reflection of strange Vancouver people than the gym itself. It does get pretty busy during peak hours, but so does everywhere else I've been.

Fantastic experience: Been going here for about 6 years. The first 4 years I paid regular rate and was more than happy to as it is a great deal. For the last two years I have had medical problems and haven't been able to work regularly so I applied for their financial assistance program. I can't explain how wonderful everyone I have dealt with has been. With my mobility issues its really important to have a safe and comfortable place to work out and they always go above and beyond. Removing financial barriers to those in need is such a wonderful thing that they do, and when I am able to pay full price again I will be more than happy to as I know that they are such a great organization.

Fantastic experience: This gym have abselutly everything you need. Great equipment and they have classes running all day. The instructors are friendly, motivating and knowledgeable. They also have a great swimming pool with a hotub, sauna and steam room. And the showers and locker rooms are well kept and always clean.

Fantastic experience: The Robert Lee Y is a magical place. I miss so dearly. The classes are so much fun. I miss Zumba. I miss the steam room and awesome hot tub. I miss the fun instructors and fun people. I miss it all. I am in Toronto now. The YMCA is okay here....its not the Robert Lee tho. ..I just want to go back. Life was so much better

Fantastic experience: What an incredible facility! My last visit to this Y was when it was the old Y, which was in a crowded, old building. It resembled an old school gym. I went here and the staff are great. There are two levels of membership, with one being a premium membership, which includes access to a steam room and other amenities. Don't let that turn you off though, as a regular member gets plenty. If you are a first time visitor, you get your first visit free. After that drop in fees are $15. Remember to bring your ID with you as you will need it. The locker rooms are very clean with great sized lockers and plenty of space to change. As part of your visit, you will get a lock to lock your locker. It's a wonderful perk to receive. Lots of showers with great pressure and lots of hot water. Each shower stall also has a little shelf for you to use. If you are a swimmer, there are machines that will spin dry your trunks in a mere 10 seconds flat. The workout areas are spacious with plenty of machines and weight stations. You may have to wait for some things, but not too long. There are a lot of cardio machines, so you will not wait for one and the stretching area is awesome. There are towels provided and disinfectant for you to wipe down your machine after you are finished. I can't comment on the pool, but it looks spacious and 50 metres in length. Parking is underground and is paid. Great place to workout.

Fantastic experience: Love this place. Much better than Steve Nash with their forceful sales tactics. It has some of the best fitness, aquatic, bootcamp and cardio classes. RL UMCA also gives you a discount if you are a student or if your income is under a certain level. Men's Plus is awesome!

Fantastic experience: I like it cause the staff treats you well and They got shower once you are member which I think is pretty neat otherwise the gym equipment is complete and not a lot of people on weekends but really really busy after 5 on weekdays

Fantastic experience: Nice staff and it has always been really clean. I have never had an issue getting on any equipment and I love that the supply cleaning towels over paper towel!

Fantastic experience: I injured myself here last night and the staff could not have been more helpful. I had a personal trainer named Zackary Macderm walk me to the hospital, put all my stuff in my gym bag and transferred it to my car for me. He also called me again today to ask how I was doing and make sure I was ok. I have never been treated so good by any staff at any other gym I've subscribed to in my years of working out.

Fantastic experience: By far the best YMCA I've been to. Staff is incredibly friendly and it truly feels like a community within. Fair pricing for a state of the art facility as well. Thank you Robert (housekeeping locker-room Robert) for being such a positive and kind person to everyone around you. You have great energy and you brighten up everyone's day. You are destined for great things my friend, I Love you.

Fantastic experience: Clean, good machines and good classes. Plus membership is nice to have as I always look forward to a steam after my workouts! Gets really busy at peak hours, however, and sometimes can't get a treadmill.

Fantastic experience: The ymca on Burrard is an outstanding family facility! Our family has been there for over 3 years, their children's programs are amazing and affordable (often free) I highly recommend the Robert Lee ymca!!

Fantastic experience: You may be like me and imagine an old decrepit building full of old folks and families when you imagine the Y. Certainly that was the case for me. I was expecting the comfortable environment of old folks and families but also expecting to have to put up with ancient equipment. This place could not be more the opposite - the facilities are spectacular top class facilities. I visit every week for squash. The only downside to this place is bulky lifting bros watching everything we do in the courts while taking their breaks and getting water :P so if you're looking for a lively place with excellent equipment you're in luck with this place, but if you're looking for a comfortable place that isn't too busy and doesn't have too many intimidating people giving you critical glances, maybe find somewhere else haha

Fantastic experience: Such a nice place, modern multiple story gym. Loads of equipment, friendly proactive staff! Even the people that use this gym are friendly, but especially the older men for some reason.

Fantastic experience: Although this place use to be very crowded, membership is still an amazing value for the money. Gym is equipped with dozens of treadmills, there are few squash courts, basketball court and decent swimming pool. There are few membership options (based on your age), you get few visitors passes a year and you can cancel it at any time

Fantastic experience: Went to this Y while visiting VC from Louisiana. Allowed me to use the facilities for all 5 days I was in town for free as I was a member of the Y in the USA!
