She took the time to understand my needs and helped me choose a plan that suited me perfectly. Abir then paired me with Ronald, my personal trainer, who has been instrumental in building my confidence and setting clear, achievable fitness goals. Fantastic experience: Cameron is amazing Trainer. I’m 45 years old. I’ve done training four different times in my life and only lasted for 4 to 6 weeks. Now I’ve been going for a year with Cameron. It’s great to have constant motivation to make you wanna keep going and push forward. I’ve been at my job for 15 years, and this last year I’m doing way better. So it’s improved my mental health as well as my physical. I’ve only ever had toothpicks for arms, so it’s great to have muscle for the first time in my life. It’s been a full year and I don’t know if I’ll ever stop!!! Calgary’s best trainer Right here at this gym. I can’t wait for the new renovated gym that’s gonna open in the new year. Positive experience: ABEER I’ve recently started attending Body Pump sessions at my gym, and I have to say, Abeer has made all the difference in my experience! She’s an amazing instructor—so friendly, upbeat, and clear with her guidance. As someone who’s still relatively new to the class, I really appreciate how Abeer breaks down each move and emphasizes proper body positioning. She always reminds us of the muscles we’re targeting and what we should be feeling, which helps me stay focused and make the most of each set. Her instructions are easy to follow, and I never feel like I’m lost in the middle of a transition. It’s great not having to constantly watch her to know what’s coming next. Huge thanks to Abeer for being such a fantastic instructor!

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love Abir’s class! Her energy is infectious, and she knows her class participants by name. She’s always motivating us to push ourselves and suggests the right weights based on our abilitiesI leave every class feeling pumped up. Abir you are truly amazing♥️

Fantastic experience: For this past year, I have been going to personal training sessions at Northland GoodLife with Ronald. Ronald is always extremely motivating, passionate about health & fitness, and keeps me accountable my goals. He truly cares about his clients and because of him I am in the best shape I have ever been in. I am very thankful

Fantastic experience: I went to GoodLife Fitness at Northland Village last week to get some information and a tour. I met with Jamie C., Assistant Manager to explain the memberships and personal trainer packages. Jamie was a pleasure to deal with. He did not pressure me to sign up, even though I did (lol). Jamie is new to the gym but was good at answering my questions and honest when he didn't know the answer. He always went to get the answers for me. I have tried the yoga classes and they have been really good. The gym has lots of equipment and I haven't seen anyone waiting around to use it. It will be nice to see what the new space looks like when they move to the Winners location. Very happy I joined. Thank you Jamie.

Negative experience: I am giving them 2 stars based on my initial impression. I was dealing with someone at Northland Village location. This person was friendly but that’s about it. I was asked to go there to sign up which could be done online. Then I was asked the second time to go see him because he was supposed to make an arrangement to meet personal trainers so I could pick which one works best for me. I went there at the arranged time after work only to find that he was busy with someone else. I was referred to me to a new person who had no clue what was happening. I also booked for a personal trainer sessions but he did not mention that I also get one complimentary session. I was supposed to get an email regarding PT schedule so I can book my time with them which I am still waiting for. Complete disregard for other’s time. I am extremely disappointed with this initial encounter and if I did not get a discount membership through my work I would not go there.

Fantastic experience: After being the heaviest I’ve ever been, also very self conscious, with little self esteem and a ton of tears, I finally decided to join. I asked for a personal trainer to help boost my motivation. It helped so much. Alyssa was my trainer, she treated me with the utmost respect, professionalism and empathy. I felt like she was my life long friend. Every single staff member there is equally amazing. They always take the extra time to chat with me if I start a conversation. They have made me feel so comfortable in being in a place where I don’t physically look like I belong. There are 3 other goodlife locations that are closer to my house, I prefer this location. Thank you for making my new fitness journey a positive experience.

Positive experience: Great facility when equipment is working, there is a stench in the woman's washroom in the toilets that smells like the sewer vent is not working. No mold smell but equipment is definitely overused by aggressive men and constantly broken. Also the gym equipment hogs are a problem as well. I had to cancel because I am unable to find child care as well as YMCA allows my daughter who's 10 to go to their fitness center. I would like her to join me and unfortunately I have asked if she could sit in the chairs while I supervise her while I'm working out but I was told that the front staff could not watch her so she should sit near the shoe rack where I can't see her instead. Which makes no sense because then I can't see her that close to the front doors. If she was sitting in the chairs I'd be able to see her from the equipment floor. It's unfortunate that I'm unable to bring my daughter who is as mature and tall as a 13-year-old to my workout with me so instead I have to cancel my membership and go to YMCA. Hopefully I'll be back when she is 12. Or if you decide to change the dynamics of children to the group. Maybe you could have an assessment for children who are more mature than others at an earlier age?

Positive experience: I like coming to this gym cuz it’s big and has a Women’s only section. Super close to me but sadly there are things that ruin my experience at the gym. 1-Machines are always breaking 2-All equipment is old kinda outdated 3-the women’s section its small and can get very congested. 4-the gym is NOT 24 hrs. I don’t even know why they close at 7 on the weekends. I wish this gym was 24hrs and had newer/better machines. Then it would be perfect! The staff is great though

Positive experience: Good gym, well rounded. Wish it could be 24hrs, or close at 12am, especially since it's surrounded by communities of parents who have to work and care for their children and can only come in later Also, whenever I come in with sunscreen or if I'm sweaty and stretch on the mats, there is a black residue left on my skin. I can only wonder if the mats are just super new and pigmented or if they are especially dirty.

Fantastic experience: Nathan is a great trainer, he's a nice person all around and is very knowledgeable in lifting mechanics and fundamentals. He's very approachable and will always help you even on his day off

Negative experience: Closes at 7pm on Saturday and Sunday…. why bother even opening? just stay closed and continue to be useless

Fantastic experience: Brendan is the best employee. I’m new to the gym and he made me feel welcome. Showed me all the good areas to train in the gym and what each area is designed to do. Extremely helpful with all my questions. Will be coming back for sure!! Gym itself is super clean, laid out nicely.

Fantastic experience: This is my favourite goodlife to go to. They have such cool equipment. It could use some more squat racks but that's true of most gyms. The staff are super friendly especially at 6am

Negative experience: The equipment here is super old. Seriously needs an update. Lighting is always super dim for some reason too. Parking situation is really annoying as well as the Kia dealership is taking up all the front parking lot.

Fantastic experience: Hello, Hereby, as an old costumer of your gym, I  express my deepest gratitude to Brendan and Mafud for their kind attention and support regarding my knee status and the disability sign in the parking lot in front of the gym. As an inconsiderate guy parked his car illigally in the disable people parking lot, whilst the respective sign was clearly available there, Brendan and Mafud talked and convinced him to move his car and he came to me and appologized for that. So, I think your above mentioned gym associates, especially Branden who always has kind and lovely attitude to all your gym customers deserve very good encouragement and your action٫ attention, and the gym manager's consideration would be highly appreciated in this regard. Meanwhile, I request you to make a serious decission regarding the above mentioned issue as that sign has very clear meaning and message for people that if they park in the wrong spot as above, the disabled ones has to park several blocks further from the gym that is not acceptable from legal and human being point of views. Positive experience: The equipment is definitely a bit old, two of the squat racks notably don't have safety catches. The men's showers are definitely just neck high retrofitted toilet stalls. It kind of works out since less people use them but if someone does come in it's like a communal shower with training wheels. Overall I liked the place, it has a really unique layout compared to others, but if I were looking forward to a shower or a squat PR I'd probably go to a different location. Also parking is horrendous during construction and I didn't get to meet the Brendan guy everyone loves so much.

Negative experience: Too much people! You will wait for your turn probably20-25 minutes If you want to cancel that useless membership, they will charge you for a month for nothing When you buy a membership, no one will tell you that they have such cancellation rules. I don't recommend this club to anyone!

Positive experience: Quite run down compared to many of the other locations - looking forward to seeing the new facility once they move.

Fantastic experience: I always have the best experience at this good life location! Brendan is the best, he's always so welcoming and creates such a positive atmosphere!

Negative experience: Gym is dark and cramped, a lot of equipment is in rough shape and the men’s shower is gross. Partitions between shower stalls are chest high so you can lock eyes with the guy beside you while you inadvertently splash each other. Filthy, ripped shower curtains, no water pressure, honestly can’t believe how bad the locker room is.Top two worst locations in the city and this place is both.Can’t comment on trainers or staff but the facility is awful. One positive is some of the old gold’s equipment that you don’t see at any other location.

Fantastic experience: Even though I was member of Good Life, I didn't want to go to exercise, and I was less confident and listless, but I'm so satisfied that ronald made me physically healthy while training with him. I'm looking forward to the days of training, and when I see my changes, Ronald is a professional trainer. thank you ronald ! you are the best !

His very knowledgeable and passion for his work! All the time trying to give the detail of work out method and diet plans! Fantastic experience: This is a pretty good location, older but I find it to be the most "calm" atmosphere. I love the addition of the women's only area, is it has got a few of my friends to come try the gym for the first time in their life's.

Fantastic experience: I went to check the place out and sign up. Mir took me on a quick tour to see the place and then explained all details to me. I am not new to Goodlife but I have to say Mir was different. He didn’t put me under pressure to sign up and answered all my questions professionally and honestly. The vibe in this gym is great and I am sure it will be even better when they move to the new location which is just few meters away.

Fantastic experience: I used to weigh 6000 pounds. Then I started working out with Tory. I lost it all so fast I can’t believe it. I have a 12 pack and my hair started growing back. Thank you GoodLife Northland!

Negative experience: I regret that I have become a member here. You can not start without getting a gym instructor. And he is always not available to your time, if you dont used it , they will say it expired even their instructor is the problem.

Fantastic experience: Sara H. Sara did a fabulous job by explaining everything and showing me the gym, she was so welcoming that I decided to get back after a few weeks and sign in to become a member.

Negative experience: While I was showing a promotion on their own website with my phone (that they finally didn't recognize) The worker at the front desk took my phone and added a 5 star review with my phone. So I am just re-adjusting that review to 1 (Only because I can't leave a zero)

Fantastic experience: The perfect gym. Here you can find almost all existing machines.Very nice gym staff. Especially Sara. Always positive and ready to answer any questions.

Negative experience: It really speaks of the company when certain gyms are falling apart and others are well taken care of. I work out at Northland on certain days as it is close to work and this gym is falling apart. The machines are not greases and the weights have lost most of their rubber. This is the only GoodLife in the city that I have seen that needs alot of TLC. Even the staff know it needs work.

Fantastic experience: Great location! Very friendly staff. There's plenty of space and equipment. More of a darker/old-school atmosphere which I love. It's an odd layout, but it was renovated from an old theater so they did well with it.

Negative experience: Seems like not everyone gets the same customer service here! It's like there is no standards! If you don't fit a certain description of the desired clients they won't even greet or say hi to you! This type of poor customer service continues until you make the choice to leave to workout somewhere else! On the other hand if you do fit their description you are treated like a king! Everybody's so nice to you all of a sudden! Not for everyone!
