Negative experience: Was visiting home over the holidays but upon calling was told the shortest membership they do is 3 months. Personal choice of the owner but seems like quite a waste for a smaller gym to turn away business like that. Tldr; shortest membership period is 3 months, don't bother if you're looking for something shorter.

Fantastic experience: Friendly environment and quiet at most times . It’s a tight space but they make it work. It’s kept clean and organized.

Negative experience: Poor management and poor supervision. Not enough equipment though. Not recommended.

Fantastic experience: Came here after leaving the Brentwood locations mess of a gym. Very happy so far! Not very busy, much newer equipment that works well! Very well lit gym as well. The members here actually clean the equipment when they are done, no meat heads slamming weights or talking on their phones. Overall very clean gym as well! Feeling good about my decision to come to this location.

Fantastic experience: I've been to this location for about a year now since moving to this location. Staff appears to be friendly and accommodating. My whole family has a membership here. It's reasonable clean, and the equipment has been kept reasonable dated. Has all the essentials needed for a good gym. Everyone working out there has been friendly except for a few bad apples that frantically use a few pieces of equipment at the same time (which is understandable when it's not busy) but do NOT clean afterwards which can be annoying. All in all, minus those people, I would definitely recommend as user experience has been good so far.

Negative experience: Because of looking for a new gym and the convenient location, I contacted 'Anytime Fitness Ranchlands' and made an appointment. On arrival it looked good from the outside, not too big, clean and well equipped. But that was, actually, all I should get to see, because there was nobody there, except for an elderly lady, who had just finished her work-out and left the gym. That left me waiting for 15 minutes in front of closed doors. The person I made the appointment with was a no-show. This is not the way, how to attract / get new customers, but, maybe, they don't need any?

Fantastic experience: The interactions I've had with staff have all been wonderfully friendly and encouraging, and the convenience is tough to beat. They have pretty much every machine I could hope to use. Highly recommend!

Positive experience: Really quiet, never have to wait for equipment. Not the cleanest (lots of dust on equipment and fans) and some of the equipment could use some refreshing.

Negative experience: Can't cancel and then you owe hundreds of dollars without having gone for months. Do not recommend.

Negative experience: Don’t recommend! The receptionist, Ava, could improve her customer service by being more patient and attentive to customers' needs. She behaves badly…

Positive experience: The primary staff member at this location, Eva is very nice and friendly.

Negative experience: Called yesterday without being able to reach anybody; then this morning I decide to drive to this location. Tried the door and it was locked (9:55 am) so I was early according to the Hours of Operation sign that states their hours are 10 am to 7 pm. I decide to wait. A strawberry blonde man grants me access and I get inside. I thank him and explain my scenario. He politely explains that the lady I should speak with “will be about 20 minutes yet as she is always running late”. We smile and laugh then he carries on with his work out and I prepare to settle in. I make my way to the leg press machine when my phone rings and it’s Anytime Fitness calling. I stop what I’m doing so I can make arrangements for 2 days of gym use. The lady proceeds to tell me that they aren’t a gym that does drop-ins so I ask about a guest pass. She continues to say they don’t do that either even though it clearly states on their website that there is a FREE 1 day trial. Incredibly disappointed!

Fantastic experience: Brian took the time to understand my health situation and came up with great solutions for my fitness journey.

Fantastic experience: The manager is friendly and professional. The gym has all the stuff you need for a good workout. It is small compared to other gyms but I like the simplicity of the layout and the fact that you can go anytime and have a workout without having to talk to ppl.

Fantastic experience: Very organized and clean with an amazing array of equipments. Staff are friendly and approachable. 24 hr access, which is absolutely great!!

Fantastic experience: I've been going to this gym for the past year and half. Seeing familiar faces from time to time, it really does become a little community which I grown to like. Clean space, people mind their business and are courteous. I've extensively used their personal training programs during my time there. I went through a total of 3 personal trainers so far, all which were excellent but the one who stood out the most for me, was a man name Brian...a cultured, friendly, approachable guy. I was shy at first but wow he is extremely knowledgeable in the realm of fitness and not just eye candy. The perfect embodiment of character, charisma, humour, good looks and a physique that would make the Greek Gods jealous. I can see why alot of women like him.. I'm not kidding.. Anyways I digress, doing personal training with Brian was always a good time. I'm more confident overall in my life, stepping out of my comfort zone and striving more thanks to him. 10/10 this is a good gym with excellent staff. Thank you Brian.

Fantastic experience: Everyone I've met who works here or works out here has been super nice. Would recommend personal training sessions with Brian. Guy's accommodating, encouraging and keeps the sessions fun and challenging. 10/10

Negative experience: The gym is quite small, and the machines take forever to be serviced. The hand dryer in one of the washrooms hasn't worked for months now. Small issue, but shows a lack of care.

Negative experience: Bossy Macho Brown hyped up gym guy patron told me to go wipe down the station I used for 15 seconds because he was going to use it after he finishes 10 minutes in his lat pull station, and it was already adjusted so I can't use it, too long for my legs the hamstring machine. I consistently wipe my station but the one I used for 15 seconds I couldn't figure how to adjust so I just gave up and he saw me. In busy hours I don't see a lot of sanitizing down by patrons. Some a-hole customers they let in this gym. Better throw bottles and microfiber cloths at them when they try! Update: it happened yesterday July 6 Thursday. I don't think the staff would be much help because one of them just flirts and talks to guys so I doubt she will be hearing my concerns. She had just got in the building around when the incident happened. I'm a skinny 5 feet person trying to get some muscles, I'm already feeling down as it is and I don't need anymore difficult situations coming from a-hole gym bros and whoever wants a rise out of someone. And your gym motto is all about happiness and healthiness isn't it? Do you value your customers?? I'll try and contact one of the staff but I assume most people don't know how to be nice to themselves and each other.

Negative experience: I dont know if the owner knows about this. You guys have a female employee that does not listen to the problems of the customer and acts extremely sour. She worked on May 15 at 3:57 pm and shut down the phone call when discussing about payment issues because she was sour about the fact that she wasnt getting the answers that she wants. Very immature and unprofessional not set out to work in a setting like this.

Fantastic experience: Gym is clean. Staff friendly. At first look I think it will be what I am looking for. Plus it is 5 minutes from home! Sometimes too hot in gym. Need fans left on 24/7. No changes to experience after nearly a year.

Negative experience: Unfortunately this is the worst anytime fitness I've been to. Not a lot of equipment, the equipment is shoddy and not in great shape, machine spacing is really inconvenient and dangerous in some cases. It's just really unfortunate that I moved and this is now my closest location. I actually hate coming here to workout, it puts me in a frustrated and bad mood. The staff are alright

Positive experience: Been going to the Ranchlands location since May 3, 2022 Fairly clean and well kept. I go at randoms times of the day during the week and there is busy hours but there is enough equipment for all and everyone just keeps to themselves.

Fantastic experience: Convenient hours (literally all of them), clean space, and friendly guests. Great for a late night workout after a long workday!

Fantastic experience: It’s cheap so all the reviews here expecting perfection are ridiculous. Pros, it’s clean, not too busy (usually), 99% of patrons have good gym etiquette, few interactions I’ve had with the staff is them always being incredibly friendly. Cons, would like to see some additional equipment, maybe some time of lockers as well? (Note never had anything stolen but I’m anxious lol) Going from MRU’s gym to this one is definitely not ideal as the variety of equipment isn’t there, but for a place that’s always open and cheap, it’s great.

Negative experience: I just found out about their $40.00 yearly enhancement fee through my bank statemennt. Which is quite a joke because I had to wait over a month for them to fix my favorite piece of equipment. The water fountain is old and gross. Not only there is a wet mess on the floor, but it's gross to fill your bottle after people put their mouths on the spout. I just talked to someone who answered their phone and didn't even bother introducing the place. Just said hello. The so called manager and personal trainer, sit in their office not even pretending to be working. He said the water fountain is a courtesy not an obligation. He said a hygienic drinking fountain is an upgrade, not a necessity.(after I just paid the 40$ "club enhancement fee") He was so rude, it trully represents my whole experience at this location. I'm glad not all the locations are such poorly equipted and managed. The staff shows up after 10am, like they are on leaisure walks. I will have to waste more gas going to better locations. As a whole, I do not recommend this gym.

Fantastic experience: After years at the Crowfoot YMCA, I found myself in a financial situation where I needed to save some money. I miss some of the perks of the plus membership at the YMCA but considering I'm paying half of what I did there, I can't really complain.

Negative experience: Began going to this ranchlands location after moving (originally went to the Symons Valley location which I liked quite a bit, so this review does not reflect that location just this one) Positives- -Best aspect is of course the 24 hours, so if you have a super busy schedule this will work for you -multiple bathrooms, and they are clean. -decent equipment considering limited space Negatives- -Poorly staffed, manager Is hardly ever in, so you can't really ask any questions about anything. There are no employees Cramped- Very very small gym. There is no dedicated space for bench press or deadlift for example. Rather, you have to use the squat rack (there are only 2) which is a pretty tight fit as you also happen to be in front of the chest press machine There are also only 3 benches. These are constantly being fought over, either moving them for bench press, for the freeweight area, etc. Messy and disorganized: Because there are no employees, the gym is always in disarray. A small cleaning crew does come through occasionally, but it's obvious they only mostly clean the bathrooms because Equipment is left all over the place, the mirrors are always filthy and covered with grime, weight plates are all over the place, and not organized. For example, to get to a ten plate you need to first lift 3 45 plates out of the way. Pretty expensive for what you're getting- On top of the membership fee, you have to pay for the key fob to start, which if I remember correctly was 60 dollars, plus a sign up fee, so it's much more expensive than they let on from their advertisements. Poor customer service- My membership recently cancelled, and I did not receive and notice of this. No text, no email, nothing. I walked 30 minutes to the gym, then found my fob wouldn't work. In my opinion, for the price it's just not worth it, it's very small, pretty unclean, and very disorganized. You would be better off going to the YMCA, Big sky fitness, or other gyms, where you can get much more for the same price.

Fantastic experience: This is by far one of the best Gym's I have ever been too. While it's not a big one like others, it has a nice small community. Both the other members and staff are super friendly and courteous. I've always enjoyed coming here and would highly recommend this gym for anyone looking for a small non-judgement, clean gym.

Negative experience: Terrible. Certainly does not take COVID precautions seriously. For social media pictures the act is on. Crowed, small and definitely not clean. Expensive and useless compared to other locations and gyms. Towel and shower service built into the membership. Since those services are not provided due to COVID - other facilities will reflect that by downsizing their cost. Other gyms have also offered members out of their contract due to COVID. Nope, not here. The worst experience. Being crammed into a corner made to do floor exercises trying not to get injured by cardio equipment! Overpriced for what you don't get! Do your research and seriously avoid this location at all costs.

Fantastic experience: Well maintained, quiet, and clean! Awesome selection of equipment, spray/cleaning bottles and towels everywhere. Other gym goers are courteous and friendly. Will be my "go to" anytime fitness in North Calgary!

Negative experience: Went to this gym for 2 years, was not in a contract and cancelled my membership at the gym with the gym manager in August 2022. Turns out my membership was never cancelled and I was being charged $50 a month and gym improvement fees ontop of that. Tried to call their billing company to have the charges reversed multiple times and was not able to get through to a person, did a chargeback on the credit card used and now they have sent me to collections on a bill I don't even owe them. Stay away from anytime fitness, better run companies out there.

Positive experience: It fits my needs and the price is right. The location is also close to sushi for that post workout feasting.

Positive experience: Bottom of machines need to be cleaned. Each one was covered in dust. Great atmosphere. Good workout equipment. Good music. Staff is attentive and welcoming. Shower and free towel service is nice. Prices are great.

Negative experience: I see a few quite new reviews here that were probably solicited by the manager to try and bolster his reviews. Easy to spot. Taran for one. I witnessed the manager berating a young man for (as I remember the conversation) a bad review. Probably better to talk to him and bring him and yourself to a better place than to insult him in front of other gym patrons. I frequent the gyms in the SW and NE, so this was my first time in this location. Clean location. Good equipment, but that event soured me to this location in the future.

Fantastic experience: This gym is a 5 star for sure! Super clean space and the equipment is in mint condition. The location is awesome with heaps of parking. Everyone in the gym is chill and respectful (not the usual macho gang). Ear buds in means I'm focused and I don't get bothered, ear buds out and the club culture is chats about fitness, lots of laughs and work out tips! The staff are super friendly and always go out of their way to say hi, stop for a chat and see how you're doing. They are constantly representing the fitness lifestyle and when they're not on shift, you can usually catch them on the gym floor working out. They are always encouraging and down to answer questions, give advice or a spot if ya need! If it gets busy during peak hours everyone is pretty cool to share workout space and allow each other to "jump in" with high demand equipment. Again, super chill club culture! I highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a chill gym to get their sweat on!!

Fantastic experience: I usually don't write a lot of reviews, but this has to be one of the better AF locations in Calgary. The facility is always clean and the staffs are super friendly. They have eveything you need to start making great gains! Special shoutout to the manager Brian as he is always available to support and motivate you to become better everyday. Highly recommended to newcomers, you will not be disappointed! :)

Negative experience: Would love it if management ( ALL 3 of you ) didn't fill up the machines while it is busy! I get it, you have your workouts to do too, but you're not getting paid to workout, you're getting paid to help customers, sit in your office where someone can actually find you if they have a question and maintain a gym! Get your workout done when its slow please!!! Will NOT likely be signing up another 2yr pass because of this location!! UPDATE: manager approched me about this review. In a way a teenager would. Lots of attitude and a huge sarcastic tone! Then continued to sit and flit on some of the machinery with his customers. Unprofessional to the max! Done with anytime because of this location. Dont waste your time! While just walking out he yelled something rude at my father. This guy needs to be fired or better yet just hope the waste of skin resigns

Fantastic experience: Friendly staff, new equipment, and a decent selection of equipment. Really like how this location has kettle bells! Some equipment, like a stairclimber, ab wheel, and bosu balls are missing; however, the gym is brand new and still adjusting though. If you want a chill workout, try the ranchlands location.
