Negative experience: First of all, it was an extremely bad experience. To summarize, I would not choose this gym in the future as well as their other stores! Since I was going to a friend's house for a visit and still had plenty of time, this ANYTIME GYM just happened to be in the neighborhood, so I booked a free day pass and hoped to get a quick workout to drop by and experience it. I entered the store and explained my situation and the staff put me on hold and said I couldn't work out yet until after my scheduled appointment. I showed understanding and waited. But when I waited for twenty minutes for nothing, she actually told me that I wasn't allowed to work out if you're just coming to work out and don't live in the neighborhood. WHAT!!! I told you from the beginning that I was coming to work out, you didn't explicitly deny me and made me wait and waste my time for nothing, and then told me I couldn't work out? I even changed into my workout clothes and shoes and drank the pre-workout. I stated again that I made an appointment for a free day pass, but again she refused. So well, as I understand it, a free day pass is to experience your gym for free. You are a chain of large commercial gyms, and even if I don't get a membership at your store, there is a good chance that I will look for your chain of gyms in my neighborhood to become a member after this great experience. But unfortunately you missed this opportunity and a bad experience will make a customer all but dismiss any of your gyms and I will not choose you again. I am very annoyed and offended by your stingy and mismatched free day pass policy! A good gym would have more ambitious ideals and policies and would not skimp and set up so many pointless introductions and communications in order to expand their membership. Let me tell you, one of the most impressive experiences for a customer is to make them feel free and empowered the first time they go, not to tell me that this and that won't work. If the first feedback a customer gets is negative, who will choose you? Who's going to spend money for you? Who will become your member? This is the first time I've ever rated on Google Maps and I feel like it would be very hard for me if I didn't write about this bad experience. I hope you all find the right gym and I wish you all an enjoyable fitness experience!

Negative experience: Anytime Fitness is a complete disaster of a gym, and I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy. Let's start with the basics: they charge an outrageous $50 a month for what can only be described as a glorified storage closet filled with outdated, malfunctioning equipment. It's like they raided a garage sale for their treadmills and weights, and then decided to charge premium prices for the privilege of using them. The gym itself is a nightmare. It's always packed to the brim with sweaty bodies, making it impossible to get a decent workout in without feeling like you're in a sardine can. The lack of space means you're constantly bumping into others or waiting in line just to use a machine that may or may not be functioning properly. But wait, it gets worse. Their billing practices are shady at best and downright criminal at worst. I've been overcharged on multiple occasions, and trying to get a refund is like navigating a maze designed to frustrate and exhaust you. Their customer service is a joke, with representatives who seem more interested in brushing you off than actually addressing your concerns. And don't even think about canceling your membership. They make it nearly impossible, insisting on ridiculous terms and conditions that lock you into a never-ending cycle of payments for a service you no longer want or need. It's a predatory tactic designed to bleed you dry while offering little in return. In conclusion, Anytime Fitness is a cesspool of incompetence, greed, and deception. Save your money and your sanity by steering clear of this dumpster fire of a gym. There are plenty of other options out there that actually value their customers and provide a decent fitness experience. It's really disgusting what these people try to do to people for their money, it's time we held these people accountable.

Please make sure to reach out to our office directly to have your customer service issues gone through carefully and concisely. To our knowledge, all equipment is functioning and is Precor commercial grade equipment primarily at this location. If something seems a bit off we’ll make note of it and have it fixed immediately as we take great pride in making sure our equipment is well taken care of for our clients. As for billing practices everything is layed out very simply and both you and us would have a copy of this agreement to settle any disagreements. Again please reach out to us and we’ll make sure any confusion is sorted out immediately.

Fantastic experience: A great neighborhood gym. The staff are amazing and always helpful, welcoming and encouraging. The trainers are top notch and really go above and beyond to follow up with their clients. Equipment is always well maintained. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a place to work out and need a flexible schedule. You get a key fob and it is available 24/7/365.

Negative experience: if you have other anytime fitness membership and start using this, they increase the price and if you will not allow for price increase they ban you from using their location. and when we sign up in anytime fitness, they simply told us that we can use any anytime location in the world but this location simply told us to transfer here or they gonna ban from this location and osborne location
Hello Bhart Khanna! As we explained to you when you inquired about a membership in December 2023, each Anytime Fitness club is individually owned and operated and therefore pricing is managed by them as well with minimum pricing guidelines and other considerations based on their market etc… therefore it should not have been a surprise to you when you signed up at a different location you had no intention of using whatsoever in an effort to skirt the system and transfer into ours paying a considerably less amount. All of this has been explained to you again. We have received $0 from you to date and therefore are sad that we’ve had our facility used by you just to turn around and give us a 1* rating on Google.
Fantastic experience: Bailey and all the staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. I enjoy the fact that I can go whenever works for my schedule. Despite the gym being smaller than what I’m used to it has everything that I require for my workouts.

Negative experience: This is my least favorite AE location, its awful. The equipment is worn down and rusted in some instances. The lockers are weird and dont take normal size locks and its rediculously compact location - if you're doing any exercises in the corner you need to wait for someone to finish before you can start. The bench press, tower and swith machine are simply way too close and this is a problem of trying to provide too much in an incredibly small space. I dread having to come here and I go out of the way to drive the extra 20 minutes to Transcona. And worse yet, the vibes are just off here, bad energy.

Negative experience: This gym is awful since the new owners. The staff are so rude and sit in the office on their phones, don’t acknowledge members or say hello, washrooms are disgusting with TP everywhere and toilets have diarrhea stains. Yes, the photo attached was while staff were on shift but didn’t care enough to get off their phone in the office. Just filthy. The way they moved the machines around makes it way too cluttered. The seating area is very minimal, instead they put up a clothing rack to try and sell merchandise.. and to top it off they just sent out emails saying they are raising prices for all current memberships. Not worth the price at ALL. It’s never been a better time to cancel. See ya Anytime!
Hello Anunya! We would like to address some of the issues brought forward by you! Toilet paper sometimes is left behind by members as we are open 24/7 we encourage members to clean up after themselves and of course clean the bathrooms regularly ourselves. In addition we do have dedicated cleaning staff to handle the deep cleaning at this facility. In terms of the re-arrangement of equipment - the new flow of the gym is very important and we are sorry that you disagree with management on the decision to have all cardio machines at the front with the remaining equipment grouped together appropriately but it needed to happen. As for the seating area, we feel it is an adequate amount of space and have not changed it. Having merchandise advertised does not impede on this. Our final point is that you mentioned staff are on the phone in the office. This is of course their job as they regularly do out reach to clients throughout the day. We will work harder to make sure great members like you are greeted upon arrival so you feel at home with your AF Fam! Finally Anunya, if you do feel like we’re not the right gym for you we again would like to apologize and will meet with you in the office to end your membership or see how we can better serve you.

Positive experience: Overall, a pretty decent place to workout. Facilities were clean which is always a plus. Some of the equipment seemed to be in not so great shape such as the grips on the bicep curl machine and one of the cable machines had broken plastic and rusted plates by the looks of it. Still a good place to get in a good workout no doubt.

Negative experience: I will share my experience of visiting this gym. I worked out in the gym for more than a year, in an excellent location that was close to my home + had a good price-quality ratio, and worked 24/7 which was a definite plus. I was pleased with the visit until the change of ownership and new managers, this is where it all began. The new managers do not know how to work with clients and resolve controversial situations. One day, after being away for a week or two, my wife and I came to the gym, after which I discovered that my locker had been opened. It contained my personal training items. After some time, I found half of the things in the common area for use. I was extremely disappointed by this behaviour of the new administration; in response to an attempt to clarify the situation, a young female administrator, who clearly did not understand what was happening since she had been working for a couple of days at that time, began calling senior manager Kaylie. She notified me that they had warned all members of the club that the lockers could no longer be used as personal lockers. The new management clearly does not know the official notification procedure under Manitoba law, since I did not receive a normal written notification addressed to me. By notice, manager Kaylie meant a sticker stuck on her locker. Also, the new management is not aware that even after confiscating the personal belongings of their clients, they are required to store personal belongings for at least 2 weeks - until required. By putting my personal belongings in the common area, exposing my health to the risk of contracting any diseases from other club members, since this room does not require a certificate from the attending physician about the dedication to visiting these establishments. Having demanded that the club administration immediately terminate the contract, our access keys were blocked on the same day, but they continued to charge the weekly fee until my wife and I blocked the cards. Having contacted the consumer protection service in December last year, they did not receive any results, any apologies, etc. The only thing that manager Kaylie answered was that my wife’s key was blocked due to the fear that she would let me into this club, which already implies a unilateral termination of the contract on their part. In general, we are ready to go further to court if the consumer protection office finally does not take any action.
Hello Дмитрий Левиев. As you are aware we were VERY communicative with you regarding your displeasure in following basic guidelines at AF Riverbend. We have a limited amount of lockers for our patrons with hundreds of members so of course we cannot have members permanently take over a locker. You were warned about this for weeks with a posting on the locker door before the lock was snipped and your items were carefully stored for you to pick up later even though we didn't even know who these items belonged to since you did not come for weeks to pick them up. You became unprofessional, rude and aggressive towards staff and furthermore refused to acknowledge that you would follow all club policies and therefore your key fob was blocked until we could come to a resolution with you and your wife who you claimed had medical problems and yet produced no doctors note in regards to this. As you pointed out you have refused to pay and most likely your account will be sent to collections in violation of your agreement. We hope of course you reach out to us to politely come to a resolution and Hailey will be there to discuss options when you're available. Take care!
Negative experience: Worst customer service. They deducted extra money from my credit card and refunded less than the amount they took. Every week the employees change so if you go and talk to one person about your problem they tell you to come back after like 2 days and when you go back there is someone else working so the same process repeats. You need to tell the whole problem from starting again. Now they are under new ownership and I don't know how they are but according to my previous experience with the previous owner/management of the gym I would not recommend this place.

Negative experience: 3 days ago on May 18th I paid $155 to sign up and that's including the first month membership. Now I look at my bank account and they took another $71 today. I will be canceling and talking to them in person asap. So clearly they're all a bunch of thieves there and stay FAR AWAY from these crooks. Pure Evil.

Fantastic experience: The communication, customer service and professionalism is on point. People need to understand that this is a 24 hour gym and all of the cleaning and organizing are done during the day or when there is an employee during working hours. They also doesn’t tolerate members who don’t follow gym etiquette. Good job to this location!

Fantastic experience: Small space but good equipment. Their cleanliness and online bookings during Covid-19 was above and beyond expectations. Friendly staff and owner make communication easy between client/management if there are concerns needing to be addressed.

Positive experience: It’s a pretty nice gym. The facilities are well kept. The staff are all nice. It isn’t a very large place. Sometimes there isn’t enough equipment to go around. There is usually at least one piece of equipment out of service. There isn’t enough lockers/coat hooks for when it is busy.

Negative experience: I decided to join this gym and was asured that they care about customer satisfaction, but I have been proved otherwise. I was told that a family membership under one year contract would be cheaper and, even though I showed concern about the 12 month policy, I was told that the owner would cancel our membership as long as we gave proper 30 days notice. I haven't been using the gym much, it is a small place, I work during business hours and every time I go there the place is crowded. Now for personal reasons my wife and I decided to cancel our memebership for good, no time to go there and we didn't enjoy going there. I contacted the gym by email and I was told that I misunderstood the contract Very frustrated with their sales tactics and customer service.

Negative experience: Worst customer service I have EVER received. I hurt my back in Dec and was unable to use the gym. I didn't make any changes to my membership and still paid the full amount. In January I spoke to Victor and told him I would like to cancel my membership. I decided to put it on "freeze" and pay $7.a month. In Feb a full payment came out when only a $7 payment was suppose to. For weeks I tried to get in touch with Victor and was blown off or told by one of the staff that he made a "Mental Note" of my request to make a change to my account. (How unprofessional) A whole month went by and I never received my refund. March is now here and another full payment came out. The lack of communication is ridiculous and 2 full payments equaling a total of $100.78 have come out when only $14.00 should have for 2 months. I called left voicemails and txt msgs to the gym cellphone. No response. Finally, I went to the gym and got Victors personal number and txt him myself. He said he will, "Follow up" and he'd have a cheque for me to pick up that week. After 2 months, I finally received my 2 months of refunds. Fast forward to April, yet again another full payment of $50.39 goes out. As well as $19 for a "club enhancement" fee. Victor tells me the club enhancement fee everyone pays regardless of a freeze or not, which is fine.Victor then tells me it should only have been $7. taken, well thanks tips I already know that. Again, it took days to get my money back.After all this I finally decided that with how I was treated and ignored during all of this that I don't want to return. I told Victor on April 10th I would like to cancel my membership. He says we have a 30 day notice policy and that I needed to email the club to give notice. Fine, I do this. Well fast forward to now May and I feel like this is a joke because another payment of $50.39 goes out on May 10th. When I originally cancelled and spoke to an employee at Anytime Fitness Riverbend she told me I no longer have access to the gym and that no other payments would be taken out. I txt Victor on Tuesday with complaint of having to pay a full fee again and he has the nerve to say, two days later by the way, "when you told me to cancel the membership i processed it on april 10th, it defaults to a 30 day notice for cancellations. Any payment in that 30 days was your last" .. his OWN employee told me that this was the final payment and that I no longer have access and now he is trying to take a full payment from me again, when I was told my access was now cut off . How unfair. I told him that it would be good customer service to refund my whole amount of $50.39 as the information you are telling me is not what your employee told me. I then went on to tell him that if he wants to get technical that my account was suppose to be frozen therefore you cannot take a full payment from me. I then said I would be there tonight to pick up my cheque and if he felt the need to take $7. go ahead but I am not paying a full amount of $50.39. Good costumer service would have been to refund me my whole amount. But no, Victor decided to still take $7.00 from the amount. I own a small business myself and would never treat a customer the way Victor treated me. This is how you loose customers, Victor. Also After all this he did not apologize once or do anything for me, he didn't respond to my last txt message but had his employee txt me to say my cheque was ready. Absolutely disgusting. When I spoke to an employee this evening I asked her if there was anyone above Victor I could speak to. When she told me no, I told her that is unfortunate because I feel like he has a lot to learn about good customer service and this is not how you run a business. I had 2 friends that were going to join next month at this location and after hearing my story one has decided to go to Good Life instead and the other to the YMCA. Even though there may not be anyone above Victor to speak to, word of mouth gets around and reviews like this help because people read them. In the end bad customer service gets you less business.

Negative experience: Nice and clean but there's always a few groups of people who are too loud and cocky. Also encountered a couple people who like to circuit train and use multiple machines within a short time span. Gets kind of annoying. If you're going to do that, go when it's less busy or go to a bigger gym. After I cancelled my membership I noticed a few months later that I was still being charged. Called twice to talk to the guy who runs the place but could never get a hold of him. Just a woman who would say she would get him to call me back but he never did. Whatever, keep the free money and good riddance.

Positive experience: Comparing to other anytime locations across Canada, this isn't the cleanest facility around. No sanitary wipes to wipe down machines, and the changerooms were less than what I believe to be 'anytime standard'.

Fantastic experience: Loved this gym when I went here - very clean and Victor who owns it is extremely nice. The gym is large and has lots of different machines and lots of area for whatever you like to do.
