Negative experience: The place is very clean and machine are fairly ok. only reason i joined the gym is there a circuit training section with 30sec intervall. you suppose to be in and out max 45m.But unfourtanetly often poeple just sit there and use it as regular machine with no attention paid to the training circuit. i called to cancel and spoke to the manager of the location about my concern. The only two possible solution proposed was i should speak to the poeple myself and ask them to move because its max 30sec, or i should take the very short time i have at the gym ,go speak with staff and wait for them to speak to the members. i did not find that statement correct, a manager role is to make sure the staff is running the gym with accordance of the rules and to interven when they see certain rules are not followed.As member pay for a service monthly, we are not employed by the gym togo and enforce the rules or waist time to wait till staff interven. we simply pay for a service that was advertised and expect to get the service in return. it is up the management to be proactive and make sure those service are avaibale at all times to us.anyhow i paid the cancellation fee and moved on but unfourtanetlly i do not recomend this location.

Positive experience: Been an Econofitness member before, 2015-2019 at the Place Viau location and 2019-2020 at the St Laurent/Crémazie location. Place Viau was the best for layout and equipment (at least at the time I was going there) but the St Charles location is 2nd for me, oddly laid out but well equipped. The staff are friendly enough and seem to be doing a good job of keeping the washrooms and general spaces clean. Obviously they don't get into all the small spaces very frequently, lots of dust and dirt buildup in some areas, but the staff is minimal and it's a big gym. I wish Econofitness wouldn't keep changing their memberships and prices, but they're affected by inflation like the rest of us I suppose. I have the old version of their "weekend membership" so I can access the gym from Thursday morning to Sunday evening. It's a decent value for the price. The crowd when I've been there has been mostly chill, quite a few older members using the cardio machines, a fair number of couples working out together and the usual quotient of young dudes throwing weights around, in general everyone is pretty respectful. I'd recommend this location for anyone with budget as their priority. Sufficient equipment for most any type of goal from power lifter to cardio fanatic.

Negative experience: Would have given it a 3 if the music wasn’t horrendous, if they actually cleaned the lockers/floors and if the staff listened to their customers. Needs renovations and an expansion. Early cancellation fee is like 70$ which kind of sucks as well. For the price you can’t complain too much but could still be much better. Edit: these guys will reply to your complaint but instead of reporting it and making the gym better, they ask you to file another complaint as they are too lazy to take things seriously. I guess this place will never change

Negative experience: I never give any services a bad rating unless they are that bad! We have been told that we could only cancel the membership without being charged after 6 weeks, later we found out it was a lie. I talked with the manager and explained the situation. Manager was rude and didn't help at all. Don't waste your time and money on this branch, just go to a different branch.

Negative experience: [EDIT] There was no follow up done at all, the owner doesn’t care and still lets the worker work without any punishments at all. Corporate did absolutely nothing. They don’t care about their customers, it’s ridiculous. There’s also a bunch of stuff being stolen. DO NOT GO HERE! I recently witnessed a concerning incident at éconofitness where a friend of mine felt harassed by another member who was incredibly sexist. The situation was distressing, and we sought assistance from a worker who, unfortunately, did not handle the situation as expected. The worker seemed dismissive and did not provide the support we were hoping for. It's disheartening to say that my friend felt the worker was more accommodating to the person causing distress than to the one in need of help. The worker in question was described as having a slender build, a mustache, and dark hair. This incident occurred around 10-11 AM. I believe it's crucial for the management to address these concerns seriously and ensure a safe environment for all members. The manager's response left a lot to be desired, and I would like to see the owner or higher management look into this matter. It's important that the staff at éconofitness are well-trained to handle such situations effectively and supportively. I’ll be telling others about this incident to avoid them from going, so please fix this issue, and provide a way for me to contact the owner directly about this bad worker.

Positive experience: Needed a place close by while visiting relatives just enough to keep active. The place is alright, seems a bit older but good enough for a nice workout. Staff is super friendly and helpful.

Positive experience: Clean facility I was surprised they have two massage beds two massage chairs and even tanning for the price it's great it's not very large but have never had to wait for a machine

Negative experience: Pour avoir visiter beaucoup de vos gym, celui de Kirkland est vraiment le pire...et malheureusement c'est celui qui est le plus proche de ma maison. Équipement en mauvaise condition, certains employé(e)s qui se foutent littéralement de leur job ,n'informent pas les clients d'enlever leur bottes l'hiver,des gens qui s'entrainent nue pied, ENORMEMENTS de poussières et saletés au 2iemes...Cela fait déjà plusieurs mois que le staff est informé que beaucoup d'equipements ont la cuirette déchiré, voir photos. J'ai montré moi-meme au nouveau gérant ET a la fille qui le formait l'etat des équipements. RIEN n'a bougé depuis plusieurs mois. Et votre staff de me dire ce weekend que le HQ est au courant depuis longtemps mais ne fait rien....pathétique!!!!Vos autres gym sont super, les gérants font leurs travaillent mais vous ne semblez pas écouter votre staff de Kirkland. Vous êtes vite a prendre notre argent mais ne faite RIEN pour entretenir les équipements. Et svp ,ne me dite pas que vous le faite car rien n'a bougé depuis au moins 3 mois. Peut-être qu'un avis sur Goggle fera bougé les choses(suggéré par vos employé(e)s car eux aussi en sont frustrés). Et chaque photos représentes un équipement différents. D'un client très fidèle mais tanné de s'entrainer avec des équipements non-entretenu.

Negative experience: Be aware that there is currently an enormous amount of theft happening at this location and NOTHING is being done about it. Two weeks ago my son's locker was broken into and they took his wallet. It was immediately reported to the desk attendant and his response was that it had happened many times in the last few days and he would post a sign in the locker room to warm customers and he would tell the upper management. AGAIN last night his locker and MANY others were broken into. This time he had no wallet so they took his entire backpack. Unfortunately, he had his drivers license and home keys in it!! They now have our address and the keys! STAY AWAY from this gym! The management does not care at all about your safety and is doing nothing about this. The police station across the street knows all about the robberies and just told my son to come back the next day as they were closed. The officer mumbled something about having video footage but I guess giving tickets is more important.

Positive experience: Overall good gym, but it needs a big cleaning.. The floors are disgusting. Also have to mention that all employees are ALWAYS behind the computer. Unsure of what their tasks look like, but cleaning this gym would be a great addition..

Negative experience: I used to love this gym. BUT what's the use of having a privileged membership when you can't use all the service's because there's never any staff! And there is alway's problems with 1 toilet or the sinks are blocked and it smells disgusting. I am still going to continue here for now. I hope thing's change because I have recommended this gym to so many people.

Negative experience: The space smells so bad, in basement is worst. really need to work on ventilation system because I can’t work out there with the smell.

Negative experience: It was not a snowing day, My husband drive me directly in front of the door, plus I just gonna my new shoes haven't wear even once. Three Young employee just block me out, because there is salt on the road, but my shoes is brand new and I barely walk on the road on my way home. I didn't have money on me and my husband drove away. They said it's rule, I understand rule is rule, but even the law has to change sometimes by the special case. I come all the way and explain my shoes is brand new, they wouldn't let me in. This is not the way how you treat your member with you for 5 years now. The rule is dead and cold has no feelings, but human being has feelings. That's the different. Between human and rule. But rule is made for sever human.Now I have to wait 2 hours for my husband and daughter come back to pick me up. Has no money on me, can't go anywhere, my whole day is ruined, worst service experience ever, it's like there is no other words for them to say but NO. I want to call the manager to tell him my situation but all they say is here is hi email, u cab reach him by email. Yes, maybe I will reach him when I have my 5 kids. And he will congratulation to me in another 10 years. Uesful And efficient. 'LOVE the way how they answer about the email.

Negative experience: I canceled the membership due to their engagement of this unconstitutional VACCINATION PASS . I helped them when they were closed by paying the membership even if I wasn’t able to use their gym. Canceled my membership 3 weeks ago and still don’t have my money that they owe to me…. Sent 3 emails and no answer from them. I won’t join Econofitness again

Fantastic experience: I love that gym. It has 5 sections on 2 levels therefore resulting in it seeming not overcrowded. Staff is nice and distant. Equipment is well maintained.

Negative experience: Gym is very small, only one squat rack, 2 bench press, one inclined, plates are always disorganized, cheap and it’s not worth it, as there is many better options out there for the same price. Only positive thing is the staff are friendly and welcoming. If you lift heavy and exercise regularly this is not for you. They advertise that they are open 24/7 but it’s not the case, read carefully your membership before adhering.

Negative experience: You get what you pay for. Cheap is cheap. "Platinum" membership is a joke as no-one reinforces any rules that you accept when buying the membership.

I was incredibly grateful and feel that this is really excellent customer service. The studio is also very clean and spacious, and the change rooms are gorgeous! Thanks so much for your kindness!!

The price was a good value before but they keep increasing it. The opening hours on the weekend could be better, 8:00 pm closing time is much too early.

Negative experience: Gym not to bad and place very quiet, one problem is the manager and the rules he tried to follow when he kicked me out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I did my deadlifting and followed for technical security for my back, and it is impossible to put weight on the floor without hitting (not throwing weight). Please edit your rules if they are the right ones. And treat with respect to your customers!!!!!!!!!!! I have been a member for more than two years, Now that's enough!!! Bayyy!!!!!
