Negative experience: We travel alot around western canada and the US always utilizing AF for our workouts. The Brentwood Calgary location is by far the absolute worst we have ever encountered. The gym is dirty, equipment is awful, full of rips with tape over top. I was compelled to write a review as all the latest reviews are clearly fake and bought. I am surprised the franchise of AF has allowed this gym to continue with the state of it.

Negative experience: I just called to ask for the manager regarding my membership cancellation. The worker was extremely rude and kept cutting me off. I’m so glad I have decided to go somewhere else because the place is FILTHY, stinky, and the workers are unprofessional.

Negative experience: Absolutely horrible gym…terrible layout…all the towels are dirty and the equipment is old and falling apart.

Negative experience: Been here for over a year now. It’s not the worst gym out there, but for an anytime fitness it’s a dump. Feels like a gym you’d find a in a small town college. Machines are in rough shape, cushions repaired with tape. Machines creek and squeak since I got started here and continue to get worse without care to fix, As others have reviewed. In the winter, the inside was around 15 degrees Celsius and the furnace wouldn’t work. Most mornings there are no spray bottles to clean equipment. And the staff? What staff. You can call here anytime of the day and you’ll rarely get an answer. Then you’ll come in and find the staff in the office talking on their personal phone. And the enhancement fee? Where does that go? New air fresheners in the bathroom? Nothing has changed here since I signed up. When I signed up I didn’t even get a gym tour. I’m trapped in a contract so I’ll be taking my membership to a different gym location.

Positive experience: I found that they keep it quite clean and well maintained. I've never found it too busy either. Bathrooms seem well maintained and the middle one smells like hubba Bubba, which is kind of nice lol. As for equipment, they have all you need. Some more specific machines missing, but these are just niceties—you can train every muscle group, still. I would rate it 4/5 for completeness, being mindful of the size of space and that it is well utilized. For this reason I will keep it at a 4. Suggestions to improve from a 4 to a 5 would be: -to get evenly sized handles for the cables -tune/maintain the cable machines for weight accuracy (I specially noticed this with the adjustable cable rack, and adductor/abductor machine) I can't speak for management or staff, as my man in gym is a different location, but my brief interactions were good.

Positive experience: It's ok. For the amount of AF gyms I've been to, it's certainly lacking in accessory equipment for conditioning work and kettlebells. I also am not sure the AC works as it feels incredibly hot in the early morning. It's handy for being nearby, but I feel like the franchiser (?) For this location could put a little extra care and life into the location.

Negative experience: I’ve been going here for about a year so I feel like I can write an honest review. In comparison to other gyms (AF included) this one is quite poor. They lack basic things such as partial weights for stacks, proper AC (temperatures go up to 28 degrees C in summer), as well as other equipment like chains and proper floors for heavy lifting. I’d recommend going to another gym.

Fantastic experience: I have the utmost respect for the manager, Varinder. He is nothing but kind to both members and non-members. Just based on his care and concern alone, I will continue to go to this gym.

Negative experience: This in my experience is by far the worst gym (not just AF location) in my life. Misaligned equipment, frayed cables, crumpled sleeves, loose parts, etc. There seems to be no effort to maintain or replace any. Go to other AF locations, they are far better - and they actually supply shower towels and liquid soap. What do these people charge "enhancement fee" for, if not even willing to do regular maintenance?

Negative experience: cancelled my membership approx a month ago and they said all was fine and dandy but they’ve since charged me a total of 100$. I would’ve been better off just to pay my regular 25$ a month instead of trying to cancel Anyone looking to get into a contractual gym membership should avoid these crooks like the plague.

Negative experience: I’ve made a conscious effort to try all of the Calgary Anytime Fitnesses and this is without a doubt the worst one by a country mile. Since it’s the closest one to my place, I had considered cancelling my membership entirely, but I found a much better Anytime about 20 minutes away. Poor equipment quality, poor selection, no space anywhere, really nothing going for it.

Positive experience: One of the poorest designed AFs I have been to worldwide. Didn’t enjoy it, the layout and quality of equipment and amenities. I will stick to Haysboro and West side.

Fantastic experience: New location is lit. Wish they had something to pull the sled with. And also maybe some slant boards for squats! Wish the upstairs had something for use, too

Negative experience: The dirtiest gym with the most outdated equipment. Doesn’t even have proper ventilation so stinks really bad. The equipment is old and rusty too so you can’t even have a good workout. The couch in the main lobby has tape on it to cover up a tear. Owners are not even replacing a couch so imagine how bad the equipment must be. This is not a complain about Anytime fitness as a whole because all their other gyms in the city are great. It’s just that this one owner is horrible. Anytime fitness management needs to come take a look at how bad it is.

Negative experience: Noticed all the great reviews so I thought I’d visit with a friend to do a quick work out but left immediately! The owner even tried forcing me & my friend to giving a him a 5star review to top it all off.. what a joke. Never in my life have I seen someone falsely try to advertise their business to 5star review and completely neglect client concerns and feedback. This gym is nothing like the reviews state at all. The equipment is old, broken, and out of date unlike all the other upto date Anytime Fitness facilities around the city. The washrooms were extremely filthy and what’s worse is the drinking water there is not only warm, but is also very dirty and I do not recommend drinking it at all until they change the water filtration system. Bottom line, gym was not clean at all! Go to the in Crowfoot, it’s only 6minutes away and they take care of their clients and fitness facility. This gym is an absolute joke in terms of quality and maintenance and to top it off, the owner is con artist who doesn’t deserve to represent the Anytime Fitness brand. If I could give this place 0stars I would, but the 1star that I give, will go to the clients who dedicate themselves to this awful gym.

Fantastic experience: Great gym owned by a Bangladeshi Canadian. Nice and clean environment, friendly staff and member. nice and clean showers and bathrooms. The only complaint is that the washroom sinks don’t always have hot water. They should fix that.

Negative experience: This is probably the dirtiest Anytime Fitness I've been to. When you're on the treadmills upstairs, you are staring at the walls, there is nothing but dust and filth. The machines and areas are wiped, but nothing is CLEANED! If you look at the corners where it should still be clean if they are doing proper cleaning, it's filthy. I forgot to check today, but last week I was in, and there was stuff all over the floor, under the table, it was like a saw dust. Equipment looks old and outdated. Doesn't appear they have this gym because their care about their customers, they have it just to make money, sadly. Unfortunately it's the closest AF to my school so when I go to the gym between classes, this is the closest. ONLY reason I will come, otherwise I'm not coming here with purposeful intention.

Negative experience: Horrible experience. I cancelled in 2020 and have called numerous times regarding this. They keep assuring me they will payback all my charges and now i just called them today and they said there is nothing they can do. These guys are not good people. I would avoid this place at all costs.

Negative experience: This location of Anytime is the worst gym I've ever seen in my life !!! Most of the treadmills don't work and so noisy! So dirty, especially upstairs! It was so bad that I decided to cancel my plan with them because actually recently i moved and it's the nearest gym to my place. It was the first time that I was there !

Fantastic experience: I’ve been here two times as I wanted to try different anytime fitness in calgary. First of all, I got to meet the manager that runs this place. Very humble and welcoming person. Then I had the opportunity to workout and shower. Clean place with friendly people and easy to talk to. Place is clean always. Finally, its very close to food places to have a post workout meal. I will be coming here every Wendesday cuz its close to my work.

Fantastic experience: Love this gym. I’ve been coming here for 8+ years now and wouldn’t change it up. Good location, friendly staff and a good gym environment in all I need and this is what this gym provides. This is a smaller gym but seems to have all the equipment needed for a full body workout. The only things I would like to see improved is a quarterly deep clean of the gym and its equipment. Ive noticed there is allot of dust that builds up on some of the equipment that the daily cleanings don’t seem to get, along with cleaning their windows/ mirrors. Another thing I would like to see being a reoccurring member is some sort of reward for members who come back each year. I see all these promotions for new members but nothing for the members that keep coming back each year. Maybe a free month every year you come back or something along those lines? Anyways.. Great gym and I am looking forward to my up and coming sessions.
