Positive experience: This is my review for Michelle, she is very dedicated trainer, helped me lose my pregnancy weight. I have migraine she tailor made my workout so that I din get migraine during workout. she push my limits and I can see I am growing healthy and stronger everyday. Positive experience: I have no problem with this gym. However, I always leave in a rage because of the cell phone addicts who spend long periods of time sitting on the machines texting while people either have to wait or confront these cell toads.

Fantastic experience: Have been worked out in club 16 for over half a year, so appreciate to have the personal trainer Michelle. Michelle does not talk too much, she is focused on the work out and always be professional and patient, from exercise to diet plan she will share with you her experience. And the most important, she understands my needs(core) and designs the long term work out that fits my needs perfectly.

Fantastic experience: Morgan crossing location usually has a fast turn around for pieces of equipment that are broken. Much faster than some other locations

Negative experience: Impossible to cancel my membership. Email the company in Arizona and they replied in a week and went to the Surrey location to cancel and they said it's cancelled but then get an email saying that they will keep charging my account until I pay the cancellation fees which weren't discussed since it's a month to month membership. Such a scam. I have been trying to cancel for 2 months now. Trevor Linden must be happy to sully his legacy with such garbage customer service. I will tell everyone I know not to use his clubs since they try to trap you into never leaving. Please be aware and the reason for my cancellation was too many broken machines and lazy people working there. I asked for help and a rep says to me that I'm not paying for private lessons so I'm on my own. I just needed to know how to use a stupid machine that I ended up finding out that it's broken anyway from someone who doesn't work there. This place wasn't worth the money at all. The community center had better facilities and support for less.

Negative experience: First fall members of this club are disrespectful . They shouldn't be blocking benches and machine together especially in busy hours . Leaving their personal items on benches and working out at other machines which is completely unacceptable. Now management please buy more benches you signing contracts everyday and new members coming but no more equipment stop being cheap . Please ask members to be respectful other gym users.

Fantastic experience: This review is solely for Michelle, not Club 16. She is a fantastic trainer and has made me do exercises that I didn't think I could do. She encourages me to push my limits and I van feel the difference after just a few sessions. She's always positive and cheerful. I highly recommend Michelle if you're looking for a personal trainer. As for the gym itself, there could be some improvement in some of the equipment and it takes WAY too long for them to fix broken machines.

Negative experience: I joined the club last summer and broke my leg in December, on cast and clutches for months. They even requested me to go see my doctor for a doctor notes and give them in person with cast and clutches so they can put me in hold. Months later I still can’t walk fast or do exercises, and they started to charge me in April which is only 3 months after of my accident, and asked me to have another doctor note to put my account on hold even though the first doctor note clearly said I couldn’t return to any exercise until June. I requested to cancel my membership due to my leg condition and they charged me for another 2 weeks. Last month my bank locked my card due to suspicious transactions without notifying me. So many automatic payments got cancelled including club 16. They charged me late fees and claimed I have been reached. But all I got was a weird number called twice and nobody talked, which was totally like a scam call. I picked up twice and then ignored it because no one was talking. How does that count as “we had reached out to you so you should know to update your method of payment with us”? Very bad customer service in gym or over the phone. The staffs seem to care nothing about your experience except just be there and chat all day, deal with all complains with “our policy”, “my manager says”. They never reached out to you with care, but very brutal when charging fees Plus if you don’t already know, they charge you a lump sum fee at annual anniversary of your membership for development or something. Avoid this gym at all cost.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to South Surrey location for years. I started training with Michelle in January, she is amazing! Loved every minute of training with her. She pushed me to get results but in a fun way. She is always so positive and smiling! I highly recommend training with her! I’ve gained 4 lbs of muscle and feel great!

Fantastic experience: I've been a part of this gym since July of 2023 and I find the staff very friendly and welcoming each and every time I go in for my workout, which is very close to every morning! Unless they are busy with other clients or answering phones, there is always a friendly hello from the desk staff! Positive experience: Overall staff are friendly. Blinds need to be open when possible (not blinding from the sun..i know) otherwise what's the point of the windows. It's too crowded even after New Years resolutions members. More space,equipment needed. Customers need to get off their phones while on a machine. Certain groups need to be introduced to Deodorant.

Negative experience: The establishment is fine, however after several requests the management still won’t get back to me concerning 2 late fees that were charged after membership cancellation without any warning. Update: Management decided to get back to me and refuse to reimburse the scam late fees.Thanks for affecting my credit score over something so trivial. Great job. Be careful folks.

Fantastic experience: We feel so fortunate to have found personal trainer Jessica Culver at the South Surrey location. This woman knows her stuff! She is always prepared for our sessions, progresses the difficulty, and obviously has a wealth of experience to draw on to be able to offer alternative exercises if we are experiencing an injury. Negative experience: My husband and I joined Club 16 when the gyms opened up after the pandemic closure. The staff at that time was EXCEPTIONAL. The front desk staff genuinely welcomed you, they knew your name, they cleaned, they replaced wipes....they actually worked. Fast forward to today where the group of 5 or 6 staff members might greet you in between chatting, playing games, throwing a ball around, reading a book or drawing on the window. What are these 5 or 6 people paid to do? I don't know what these employees are paid, but surely money can be used more effectively for people that will actually do work and not stand around all day killing time chatting with their buddies. Where is the leadership? This is not a good first impression to make when you walk into a gym. What do these people do? It is not work..

Positive experience: I have a 3 star but would give a 1star to management. My partner and I were at the gym working out. I myself have been working out 30+ years and my partner is new to weight training. That being said we were at the gym doing our usual workout where we use 2 pieces of equipment so that we go back and forth and don’t have to stand around. It’s worked very well and haven’t had a problem at any other gym. Do the issue is …. My partner was putting weights away and getting heavier weights to continue our workout and I was at other station working out.Our water bottle and other things were at the bench. She turned around to take weights back to bench to continue and this guy was walking away with the bench grumbling under his breath. My partner said nothing to the man and came to me and explained. So I went over to the man and said sorry but we were not finished with the bench. He proceeded to say very aggressively that she wasn’t at the bench and I was at another station. I explained how we do our workout. He got really rude and I said ok I will talk to management. I had to go down twice before manager came out. I explained I would like to have the bench to finish my workout. The manager went and talked to older aggressive man and came back and told me the man said we swore at him. There was all kinds of people around he could have asked but instead he got aggressive with his words and basically said it was our word against his. What I don’t get is why didn’t we get the bench back. The guy that grab the bench got to finish his workout and we didn’t. Plus because my partner got upset he told her to leave. I tried talking to him after because I own my own business and this wasn’t acceptable. Women should be treated equally. I believe he was afraid of this man because he presents aggressiveness but me as a member shouldn’t have to deal with this. The message that aggressive man got is he can treat people like that and get away with this. I believe the place is under new management because things have certainly changed. When I started there we were always welcomed with a smile and hello which I find is a nice touch. I find staff reflect management. Good management,good staff. That is not the case. Put someone in there that they don’t know is staff to watch. You we see pretty quick. Like I said I have my own buy and this isn’t acceptable. Thank you

Negative experience: Trevor Linden let me down in a big way on more than one occasion! The most recent disappointment was when Trevor Linden fitness would not accommodate me in my needs. This gym is disgusting for this very reason and I deter those from placing even a cent on this thing.

Negative experience: I’ve been mentioning broken equipment to employees for over a month and they haven’t addressed any of it. Next logical step is to post it here and cancel my membership. Assault bike, both air runners, both rowers. All are pretty important things and none work properly.

Fantastic experience: I love this gym! It has a lot of equipment and the staff is always welcoming and friendly. Nicole the morning receptionist is exceptional. Also the manager of the location is a true leader, yesterday I saw his spending over 30 minutes cleaning the squat platform alone even with over 5 people at the front desk. He always goes around saying hi to all the members and has a very good presence on the facility! The whole team is amazing! Great work Trevor Linden!

Positive experience: I love this gym the front staff are wonderful and super helpful. The gym itself is clean and pretty much always stocked. But the reason for the 3 stars is one of their personal trainers kira, lack the awareness that her work place needs. She has run me and other people off of equipment multiple times. In the last months she has done it to me twice. Because she was with her clients eveytime i didnt want to cause a scene but i did mention that i was using the peice of equipment but she just said okay and continued on with what she was doing practically ignoring what i had said. Today i set my phone and waterbottle down in a space while i went to grab a matt and she had brought her client over and got them started excersies exactly where i set my stuff down and so i just told her "escuse me i need to get my stuff" and kira very aggressively asked me "what." I didn't want to start anything so i just left and told the front desk.

Negative experience: Initially was excited to join the gym. Found it too busy and not enough space for the amount of people working out. Had a membership for 11 days and was told initially cancellation fees would be waived. However after weeks of going back and forth emailing and going into the gym to try and cancel, Victor stated I wasn’t within the 10 Day policy for refund and would be charged 75$ (when I initially was told it would be waived as I came within 30 days) and they continued to charge the account for a month. Victor stated I mentioned “30 day policy for cancellation” but was “not promised”. Poor management and lack of knowledge by managers to know their policy, better off somewhere else.

Negative experience: Have never had any problems with this location until recently. Signed my son up to become a member. They had no problem taking my money and signing all the documents. He has tried multiple times to go train they turn him away and say he is not allowed to train by himself. The guy who signed him up said there is no restrictions at all and he can go and train that day. Later when he returned, they denied him access. We are told all he needs is a tour/walk around the gym by the manager. Which seems to me the manager is never there! Tried going again, and he was turned away. This time he was told he needs to have a parent present while he trains. Again at the time we had signed him up there was no discussion of having a parent present during the workout ever. All he is trying to do is get a good workout! Depending on which employee is working that day, he always gets a different excuse as to why they can not allow him in. Now reading all the bad reviews with getting a refund I doubt we will get a refund and they will likely keep taking the payments out and keep denying him to go train there

Negative experience: Location is ok. Equipments are ok. HOWEVER, they make excuses to refuse freezing, or cancelling, your membership even you get injured. My right ankle got injured. I haven't been to gym for 4 weeks and probably won't be able to come until January. Today I ask if i can freez my membership until i am fully recovered. They told me I need to get a medical condition form filled out by my DOCTOR, or I can only cancel my membership. I don't wanna bother taking 3 weeks to book an appointment with my doctor, so I chose to cancel. They told that I need to keep paying membership fee for 30 days before I can cancel my membership. What the HELL is this? The fee is not that much but makes me feel disgusting! They want you to keep paying even you are physically not able to work out!!! Will NEVER come back. If you want to be a member of CLUB 16, make sure you will NEVER get injured.

Fantastic experience: Me and my wife have been training with Rajat for about a month. I lost 10 pounds, and my wife lost 6 pounds. Rajat is a good trainer. I'd recommend him to anyone who wants to rapidly lose some weight in a healthy way.

Negative experience: I was staying with my gf in crescent beach due to being displaced from the wildfire in Shuswap lake. I usually hit the gym 4-5 days a week so after a week of no sessions it was critical for my mental health that I join a local gym and get back to routine. Not knowing if I would be out of my house for days, weeks, or months made membership vs drop in hard decision. After a phone call with Amir (spelling??!) I was hopeful club 16 was gonna be a good spot; he was positive, upbeat, sympathetic, and said he would hook me up with a 3 day pass. I popped in the next day and was greeted by 2 upbeat blondes at the front desk, both super sweet but wasn’t too sure what I needed and suggested I do $20 drop in. I confirmed 5 days drop in would exceed monthly membership costs and would make more sense to join as a member, cancel at 30 days and pay the min 2 months. Ok, so the manager that actually signed me up (office lady) was meh; not very friendly, didn’t explain anything, had me sign sign sign, then took cc for monthly payments and sent me on my way…. Literally, didn’t even bother giving me a tour. I found the gym vibes weird - some guy was wearing jeans and a button up plaid shirt with it open so everyone could see his nipples, was surprised that out of the 6 personal trainers/support staff someone didn’t tell him to button his shirt up. Another off staffed trainer was training with his gf and she just kept giving me dirty looks and walking around in her neon sports bra and “sweater” likes it don’t stink - zero professionalism on his part to correct her rude behaviourism. The sanitizer clothes were mostly out, the staff were not very friendly or resourceful; other than the initial blondes and Amir. Finally, yesterday, was day 9 of my membership and I got the ok to go back home to Shuswap so cancelled my membership at front desk to be told I had to pay the 45 day maintenance fees - ok, and would be charged for month 2 seeing my first month free. Like say what!!?? First month was not free. He charged them on the spot per my request and gave me corporates number saying I could call and maybe they would reimburse me. Ok, called and spoke to a lovely lady who confirmed under ten days of membership can cancel full money back…. At no point did any field staff inform me of this. Told me to go back to the gym and ask for a c!? Something to terminate under ten days. I was already 20mins past traffic so she said she would have victor call me. A little compassion, human touch, customer service and passion goes a long way. The gym is a happy, positive place where people should feel welcomed. I still haven’t heard from victor.

Negative experience: Staffs are lazy to clean/delegate cleanup. Equipments are growing sticky human residues. Not hygiene. They rely on users to sanitize which is hit or miss. They need to invest in bucket, soap, water, sponge. People pay money to use the facilities. They don’t need 5 people at the reception

Fantastic experience: I came in for information with my daughter, the guy that supposed to give us tour or information, appeared not to be interested on us,maybe because we or black or what,I have no idea. Negative experience: I am utterly dissatisfied with my experience with this company and would rate it zero if I could. If you're willing to have your money stolen, then by all means, sign up for their membership. The customer service I've encountered has been nothing short of the worst. My husband and I share the same bank account for paying our memberships, and while I had no trouble cancelling mine when I moved out of town, my husband's cancellation has been an ongoing nightmare. We've reached out to both Club 16 and ABC Fitness, but they continue to pass the responsibility back and forth, refusing to take ownership of the issue. When my husband attempted to cancel his membership, Club 16 claimed that his account had been experiencing a payment lapse for the past six months due to a system error on their end. Instead of promptly addressing and resolving the issue, they subjected him to an unwarranted credit investigation. His initial cancellation request was submitted on April 14, yet we are still being charged bi-weekly fees, despite our repeated attempts to escalate the matter. Even after involving the Better Business Bureau, we received no serious response or efforts to address the problem. Finally, on June 19, the Corporate Office Manager, Tamara Peralta, responded to our BBB complaint, claiming to have tried contacting my husband unsuccessfully. She assured us of a refund for the extra membership fees incurred following his initial cancellation request. What adds to the irony is that neither of us received any phone call from them regarding the membership cancellation, yet an unrelated South Surrey trainer had no issue contacting my husband to promote their training program. It is evident that their system fails to recognize that his account has been canceled. Despite Ms. Peralta's promise, we have not received any refund from Club 16. Instead, they continue to charge us for another bi-weekly fee as of June 23. In conclusion, the lack of professionalism, accountability, and timely resolution from this company is unacceptable. I strongly advise against becoming a member. It is a disappointment to see a company we trusted handle our situation so poorly.

Negative experience: I am writing this because I feel the facility has great potential however I also feel the up-keep needs to be addressed. I’ve never witnessed any club 16 employee clean or sanitize any equipment but I have seen them hang out and laugh behind the counter together. 6 employees just getting paid to have fun. Don’t get me wrong, fun in the workplace is important. I just feel they should get their “chores” done first. Unless you enjoy throwing away money, Trevor Linden. The VIP package includes, tanning, red light therapy and hydro massage. All lovely attributes to the facility however upon stepping inside to each, I cringe!! The amount of hair and dust collected is horrendous. They do provide paper towels and sanitizing spray but each time i wipe down the machine, it’s like I’m the only one that ever does it. I feel it shouldn’t be the responsibility of the VIP paying costumer but perhaps the employees. The stand up tanning bed has 16 burnt out bulbs… totally defeats the purpose in my opinion. The gym also closes at 7 on Saturdays which is pretty unfortunate. I don’t know that I’ll continue my membership here much longer if changes aren’t made but from the other reviews, looks like they make it next to impossible to cancel as well. There are better gym’s out there, do your research first. I regret my decision

Negative experience: I just found out that the Langley Club 16 has been withdrawing money from my credit card for a contract that I never signed up for. They have not only taken $331 from my credit card without a contract, but they also caused a negative score on my credit rating. I had canceled my account in January 2021, however it was reactivated without my knowledge or consent in January of 2022. I received confirmation from Rebecca (the assistant manager) that they do not have my signature on the contract, but the corporate office at ABC Fitness is refusing to refund the money they took.

Negative experience: Please stop offering free credits on your spin the wheel game if you aren’t going to credit the account. A team member was kind enough to offer some women’s socks as an apology but when I went to pick them up another member said that I was credited in their “old system” so no socks. It’s not about the socks guys.

Negative experience: Club is way over capacity, waaaay too many people. You can come for months, at different times of the day, different days if the week and never see a squat rack open. Some machines are only exclusive to women's only. Members are entitled and rude. Parking lot is the worst of any gym in 30km. Machines stay broken for months at a time and the manager just brushes Members off when they bring up issues with the club. They take there annual upgrade fee and do nothing with it. It took them over a year to put 3 tvs up on the walls. But even with all that it's still better than George's club at sand castle.

Negative experience: I came to the club to have my membership cancelled a month ago because i was going away. The staff said that my membership had been cancelled after asking for my account information. Now I got charged three times on my bank account without notice. Again, I was going away so I didn't check my bank account. When I email the customer service they said I have to have my cancellation in writing and it has to be a month notice. I already came to the location to do that. Why do I have to pay for it then and now for another month of membership? I'm quite disappointed with the service. Not recommend anyone to this club.

Negative experience: Signed up 2 months ago but ever since I started going regularly I noticed that a lot of the machines were broken for a very long time. For example they have 8 cable machines and for a period of 2 weeks 4 of them were broken. Making it a very hard to use a machine, especially since its busy all the time. I tried to reach out to staff to see when the machines would be fixed but I never received a response. I emailed the GM Kelly to let her know I want to cancel my membership due to these problems but a different person replied telling me I had to pay the cancellation fee regardless the reason of cancellation (I would of been happy to stay if staff was responsive and machines were fixed on time). There are other better gyms in the area.

Negative experience: I went to this gym to sign up on Sunday, I was assisted by LUCCA, he tried to sell the personal trainer package for almost 1 hour, which I understand that is part of their job. Atlast, when I made my mind to sign up, he entered my info into their system and it came up with some outstanding balance on my previous account, when I signed up for any location for no reason. I didn't owe them any single dollar, I told him that I need to go and talk to other location employees about this and I'll come back another day for sign up. His impressions and behavior was terrible, he got angry and walked out of room saying "well its upto you", didnt even say bye, I was picking up cards and id's, he is terrible customer service rep. He was all about selling the package, I felt disrespect as a customer. He needs to be more trained about his job and need to be helpful at heart and should not be thinking about the portion they get out of every membership they sell.

Negative experience: Somethings changed at the Grandview Club 16? Most probably poor management?Where do I begin? Most desk staff have been replaced over the past 3 months, not sure why as the were warm, friendly, helpful and respectful. Not uncommon to find 4 or 5 at the desk with no one doing rounds upstairs. Several pieces of equipment are needing repairs but despite reporting to the desk do not get listed or repaired. Like others have said cable equipment goes for weeks without being fixed. Was out of hand sanitizer for a month. On dark days blinds remain down when reported to the desk staff say, “I think there broken.” Not! Frequently some dumbbells only have one available probably gone to Shes fit side. They spent $10,000 6 months ago on an upgraded Tv/monitor system but 95% of the time are off. Sometimes background music is off as they can’t locate the keys. Musical choice is strictly left to the desk staff. Many issues are reported to the desk but action is rarely taken. Don’t look for a comment card, they don’t have them. Want to speak to the manager shes to busy. New places opening up locally which cost a little more but perhaps less aggravation. Bright spot the singular cleaning person who does their best to keep the place tidy! Followup: I posted my initial review six months ago and the equipment situation has worsened. Most machines have issues, lots not marked as according to the desks staff they ran out of repair signs, for real!! If you mention a device is broken the desk staff just say they’re aware but don’t ask which equipment or log it in a repair book. Somethings wrong with the chain as repairs don’t get addressed, perhaps their short of repair techs but common…. Months? My exercise regiment allows me to work around broken equipment, love the bright airy atmosphere and convenient location. BUT…Lots of other fitness clubs in the area!

Positive experience: I like the gym overall but the hours are so sad, the fact they close at 7pm on weekends. They should realistically be open later on the weekends because people have more time than during the week. Please club 16 stay open later.

Negative experience: Super angry. I have been a member with this gym for approximately 3 years. During that time, I purchased probably 40-ish personal training sessions. I used most of them but after a stint in the hospital, never found the courage to go back and finish using the remaining 14 sessions (though I still continued to pay for my membership). In September, I moved to the UK. Before leaving, I asked to cancel my membership and asked about possibly being refunded for my remaining PT sessions. I spoke to 3 employees and was told, in writing, that I would be refunded for my remaining sessions as long as I sent in 2 proofs that I had moved. A few weeks ago, I sent in the 2 documents and I was told I would no longer be receiving a refund because A.) I had cancelled my membership and B.) I hadn’t used my membership in awhile. I don’t understand the logic behind this as I obviously cancelled my membership because I was moving, hence the request for the refund, and though I spoke to 3 employees about this beforehand, none of them advised me that my refund would be moot if my membership was not active. And in addition, it should not matter that I did not attend the gym as I still paid for it every month without issue. This is absolute garbage and I am beyond frustrated. You cannot promise someone IN WRITING a refund of over $1000 and then renege on it. You’re literally a multi-million dollar company. Give me my refund.

Negative experience: If there would be a negetive star I would have given that to them. They made a false agreement without letting me know and I was already on corporate discount so there was no point to go into contract but made by their self and now I canceled my membership and they charged me 78$ without any reason. Worst experience ever with club16 never expected. Fraud system. They just need money they do not care about members.

Fantastic experience: I started at Club 16 this year, and have been very pleased with the staff, facilities, and good price points for membership, and training. I would HIGHLY recommend Sarb for personal training. He got me started on some really great programs that have shown great results so far. Sarb is friendly, and very knowledgable about the workouts he teaches, and actually explains how they work, and why they are most effective. I learn something new every session! The only complaints I have for this location are minimal. They could do with a bit of a layout upgrade in the gym to make more room when it is busy. They also need more benches, and maybe 2, or 3 more cable machine stations. Otherwise I feel like it is well equipped. Double check their peak times because it can get fairly crowded, but it's manageable if you go there with a plan.

Fantastic experience: Love this Gym .Clean and organized and not so cramped compared to others.Trainers are very knowledgeable and know what they are doing , fitting into different customer needs & goals. Negative experience: Honestly very small and not much room to do exercise that isn’t with a machine. Further has the worst management. I was injured and was unable to continue personal training. I got a doctors note, had to get a doctor to fill out their form and then got ghosted and ever got a refund for my unused session. I continuously followed up and was told it was being reviewed or management was deciding and then I stopped getting responses. Try somewhere else other options with more space and better communication. Happy to take your money and not prioritize your health.

Positive experience: charged me an extra month instead of cancelling, and you have to go inside the store to cancel. membership is only at one location. pretty small gym for size of building, clean decent equipment.

Negative experience: Do keep in mind that when you join the club, they don't care to mention about annual fees, one month notice and many other unjustified charges they will take if you plan to cancel the membership. Very bad customer service.

Positive experience: I have been a member since it opened I love the atmosphere and the acceptance of people here. However recently there is a palpable decline in the upkeep. The duct tape on the stairs is hazardous I am surprised that no one has tripped or that worksafe is ok with it . Today I am writing because the ladies washroom had several stalls with no toilet paper. It seems not as clean as it once was . I am loyal to this gym but hope it doesn’t get worse to the point I start looking elsewhere

Negative experience: This fitness is good. But when I moved, I canceled my membership since last November, they keep charging my monthly payment until March. It’s $8 every month, and 5 months I been charged. I gave them a call, they said they will send me a cheque within 2 weeks business days. Right now, it’s the end of May.

Negative experience: Equipment are good but over crowded all the time. There is no place in this gym at any time. I have had the worst experience at this gym, on certain days having to just stare and keep waiting for people to get done with their workout. This gym has as unlimited membership. Unless your okay with waiting for hours, would recommend to stay away!

Fantastic experience: Club 16 south surrey is the best gym I have ever been to and creates the best atmosphere to workout in. Syra, Jake and Nicole are the most welcoming staff and always know me by name when I come in. They are very welcoming and always make my morning workouts a better experience. They always clean the machines and keep the wipes filled! They are very necessary to make the experience as amazing as it is and create the most welcoming environment. I see them talking to so many members and always being attentive. I highly recommend Club 16 for a day to day workout and if you can, make a visit on a Friday to get the best possible customer service.
Fantastic experience: I feel so lucky to have Kiera as my personal trainer. Covid and lockdowns were not good to me. But Kiera worked with me to lose weight and find my curves again. I’ve never pushed myself hard nor have I had a sound plan on my own. I could not have done it without her.
Fantastic experience: I relocated from Burnaby Club 16 to South Surrey location in May 2020. I think South Surrey has the best service & layout & staff & cleanliness compare to the locations I visited before. I am at the gym 5 days a week and It's nice to be recognized by friendly staff members :-) I would love to nominate Danielle Pesut for being an amazing staff member. Not only during covid and rules being in place she managed the line ups outside of the gym but she was always so positive and welcoming to all of us waiting in the line to get inside and memorized most of us by names (super impressive). Her work ethic and attitude goes so well with her bubbly personality. She knows how to connect with people on different level. I am so happy to see her becoming a personal trainer. I wish her the best in her new role :-)

Positive experience: Originally I has enrolled at the High Gate Burnaby location when I made a personal commitment to lose 25lbs of unwanted Covid-19 fat. The enrollment was very easy and stright forward plus I received a month free for also signing up for a personal trainer. My trainer Lini helped me to lose 10lbs in my first month, however shortly after I had moved to the South Surrey area and transfered to this location. One thing that I'm not very pleased with is it's been a little difficult trying to receiving the 5 outstanding personal training seasons that I signed up for. Overall I'm please with everything else, it's large clean facility, with fantastic equipment. Dani always has a positive attitude, and is always there to welcome you with a big smile every morning.
Negative experience: Hi have joined gym in June 2021. Lady who signed my up, i asked the cancelation policy - said 30 days notice. I enjoyed personal training sessions with Keat couple of months and purchased additional sesions, when 6 sessions left, trainer told me that he is leaving Club16. My schedule did not worked with new trainer. Sent email to cancel my membership did not receive any acknowledgement email. Finally I called in and head office told me that it was a yearly contract. I have to pay cancelation fees which was never mentioned.
Fantastic experience: Did training with Jaye Martin in January this year and I cannot begin to explain how much she has changed my life! I've achieved so many goals with the help of Jaye's support and mentoring. I've had terrible knee pain after an accident and she's played a major role in the recovery. Jaye is a great coach, she is super fun to workout with and is very motivating.100% recommend!! She is the best!

Fantastic experience: Everything is always super clean, all the staff are nice, and they’re all following Covid protocols. I am doing personal training here and it’s been such a great investment! I highly recommend coming here.
Negative experience: I would have gladly given this gym 5 stars as generally speaking it's great value. In Nov 2019, I signed up for a premier membership, which requires a 1 year commitment. In March 2020 Covid shut down their services. Once i got double vaccinated this past summer i started going to the gym again. Now, i am moving out of country and requested they cancel my membership. They told me they would continue charging me until end of October as my year long membership was still in effect. I could get on board with this, except, during the entirety of year plus that I did not step foot in their facility, they charged me their yearly fee twice. So i asked how they could possibly tell me i still have time left on my yearly subscription when they have charged me for the yearly fee twice already. They continue to ignore my question and give me the run around. It's been escalated to management and now they won't respond. I called and asked for a return call, and sent an email asking to call me and nothing. Lesson here is don't ever sign up for a contract with ANY GYM including CLUB16. They will still try to screw you in way from or another.
Fantastic experience: I enjoy working out at this gym. I like the variety of equipment and the atmosphere. I'm comfortable using both the main section and the She's FIT area.
Fantastic experience: The South Surrey Club 16 has outstanding staff! I've been so impressed since the beginning of the pandemic how all of the young staff provided excellent, professional, friendly and organized service. The staff there are exceptional! Mack, Niko, the great girls working there. I ask myself, where do they get such fabulous staff!? So very appreciated over this last year and a half! Much gratitude. Dita. :)
Negative experience: Checked out the club today for the first time. Incredible venue with exceptional customer service. Niko was extremely accommodating as soon as I entered the gym. He didn’t harass me like Steve Nash Sports Club usually do when someone is looking to check out the gym for the first time. I appreciated that and was working out within a couple minutes. ✅✅✅✅✅ Edit September 2022: 75% of the machines are “out of order” and only 2 out of 6 shower stalls are unlocked in Men’s changing room for public use. Not to mention this gym has a total of 3 flat benches… extremely small gym for how many people come here. Good luck getting a machine from 4-8pm on weekdays

Negative experience: Dropped in on a Sunday afternoon intending to join and I was sent away because their one salesperson was too busy to see me. Made an appointment at 6:00 AM Monday morning and the salesperson was a no show. I was asked if I could come back (again) which of course I said no to. How hard is it to join this club?
Negative experience: Decent gym. Just be aware, like most gyms they have a bunch of hidden fees. Gym maintenance, late charges and on and on...I personally don’t like that. Feels like their are nickel and diming you. $16/month should have a bunch of asterisks attached.
Positive experience: I have been a member for several years. Equipment is always in excellent condition. Everything is kept hygienicaly clean. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The clientele is of various ages and respect one another given their different fitness levels and capabilities. This gym also has a dedicated area for women inside their own walls called She's Fit which I have not been in. Edit submitted 2023 May 22. I've been going over some of the recent reviews submitted by members. It would appear that there are enough negative reviews lately to re-evaluate this club. I am not surprised to hear that members are having problems with head office charging them for services after trying to cancel. I had a problem with an overcharge once but finally had it rectified. Fortunately I caught it on my credit card statement. I have noticed some equipment failures that have taken longer than should be expected to have repairs done. I have noticed some change room lockers that had been tampered with as though attempts had been made to break in. They are now unuseable. I brought it to the attention of the manager many months ago but nothing has been done. It leaves one wondering. I think the most disappointing thing is to see canned replies from management on some of the negative reviews saying very little and offering no real help.
Negative experience: racist staff and trained to scam customers. Charged me for services that are suppose to be included in the membership and also promised many other services in the personal training which were never provided. I was denied by individual personal trainers because of my colour, nationailty and ethnicity. Charged me for the barcode entrance card after saying it's free of charge. Full of fake reviews, dig deeper and you will find the real ones!
Fantastic experience: First time signing up for personal trainer for a total of 14 classes. Kyle is my trainer, and he is very friendly and professional The session start on Jan 06, 2021 and ends at Mar 10, 2021. Overall, the result is AMAZING. for the past 9 weeks: - gained 1.6 pound of muscle - lost 8.7 pound of fat - body fat percentage drop 5.5% In addition to that, i specifically ask him to correct my muscle imbalance between my left arm and right arm. at the end of my training session, the muscle mass on my left arm actually catch up with the muscle on my right arm. Special thanks to Kyle again. he is the guy that makes you work hard but not over stressing you at the same time.
