Negative experience: I am disappointed and fed up with the people running this gym! Among many others who have memberships here who feel the exact same way as myself, that I’ve had conversations with, in the locker room. To begin, the showers are filthy, from the floors to the walls and there is dingy water always pooled in the middle of the floor. Try avoiding that, yuck. There clearly has not been a thorough cleaning in there in a very long time. But the real problem is the shower heads which are nothing but cheap nozzles. It feels like you’re being pelted with little stones, and no matter how you try to twist them it just gets worse and sprays all over the place in a wide cone shape which takes up the whole shower. It’s like being tortured. For a gym with a pool (which the floors are also filthy with some type of rough sand or build up of something) that has signs up everywhere telling swimmers to bathe before going in their pool, I’d expect that they wouldn’t force you to use the torture chamber, of a shower. Next, they promise a hot tub/whirl pool, children’s care area and whatever else might be promised on their website and they do not have either of these options and it looks like the kids area is still set up and it’s being used for management office space. They promised the gym members before me, that the hot tub was getting fixed and it kept getting pushed back until they no longer are going to have it anymore, now it’s wrapped up like a hazardous area for lord knows how long. A lot of people paid for their membership because of these options and now because “it’s costing us too many problems to keep it” they’re getting rid of it. For the $70 a month that people are paying to use the amenities at this gym is outrageous to think they can’t figure out a way to make it work. Sounds like there’s a lot of corners being cut. Lastly, now this was my fault for leaving my bathing suit behind while running out in an emergency, however I found it strange and upsetting that when I left it Tuesday morning and came back Thursday morning to ask to see the lost and found, they told me that they don’t hold belongings like that. So within the span of 2 days they tossed my Speedo one piece, in the trash, instead of waiting the week to see if someone would return for it and then let it go.its not like it was a pair of dirty socks, this was a full suit. Just crazy. I’ve had only one lady at the front desk say hello and goodbye. I’ve been to the gym at least 20 times, since I got my membership at the end of November 2024. Shameful. 0 star rating. Do better for your members.

The facilities are spacious, clean, and equipped with everything you could need—from a wide range of cardio machines and weight-training equipment to functional training areas. They even have a great selection of free weights, so I never feel like I’m missing out. One of the standout features is the variety of group classes they offer. Whether it’s spin, yoga, or high-energy cardio, the instructors are always enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and genuinely motivate you to give it your best. The staff at the front desk and around the gym are friendly and approachable, making the entire experience welcoming and positive. I also appreciate how well-maintained the gym is. The equipment is clean, the locker rooms are spotless, and I can tell that LA Fitness really values keeping things organized and up to a high standard. The pool, sauna, and basketball courts are a fantastic bonus. Whether I want to switch things up with a swim or play a pickup game, there are so many options to keep my routine fresh.

Negative experience: I recently visited LA Fitness, and I was pretty disappointed with the state of their facilities, especially the change rooms and amenities. The locker room felt neglected and run down. The lockers were often damaged, and the sinks looked like they hadn't been cleaned in ages. The showers had inconsistent water pressure and a lingering smell of mildew, making it uncomfortable to use. Additionally, the lack of basic maintenance—like broken tiles and hot tub out of service—gave the entire area a neglected vibe. The amenities, like the sauna , were also in poor condition, with outdated equipment and cleanliness issues that were hard to overlook. Overall, the facilities felt far from the standard I expected from a gym. I hope they invest in some much-needed upgrades because, right now, it’s not worth the membership fee.

Negative experience: Piece of trash, gym was all good like a month ago but since they changed manager it's trash now, washrooms dirty as he'll, dumble area eww, and definitely I would like to mention attitude of the new manager is at roof, 0 yes zero customer service skill. This is not LA Fitness used to be like. Reviews you see here with 5 stars are actually bribed by the free day pass. They give you day pass and ask you to add review. Please guy don't fool yourself with 5 star reviews. And also not only that they are also deleting negative reviews and only thanking to the people who gave them 5 stars Ask your self guys do you deserve 5 stars. Little bit off rain and you put buckets and numerous places.

Fantastic experience: I have been to over 10 different gyms! And the staff and amenities are unmatched ! Never have I ever felt so welcomed and at home. I have been here for 4 weeks already and the advice from trainers and staff has already helped me burn more body fat than I ever have and put on some muscle. If you have not worked out here you are missing out on a family vibe of a lifetime.

Negative experience: The gym is good, but I wouldn't recommend their training sessions. First, they require a commitment of at least 6 months. The sessions aren't worth it, as they are only 30 minutes long, sometimes even less. So, I would not recommend them.

Fantastic experience: Ogi at front desk is super sweet and helpful, the gym is clean with a womens only section, many different cardio and weight lifting machines as well as a gym for sports. Highly recommend a membership here !!

Fantastic experience: I was heavily on the fence about joining a gym after having bad experiences with other gyms, until I stepped into LA Fitness Cambridge. I was exceptionally assisted by a very well composed club manager named Ogi. He was quick to adress my concerns and made me feel extremely comfortable throughout my tour. I’ve never received such service from any institution before, let alone a gym. I will be back to register the rest of my family, 10/10!

Negative experience: I’m not from this area but every time I’m visiting. It’s always extremely dirty. It’s 9am. An hour after opening and it looks like this already. You can just tell they don’t clean at all. The bathrooms are even more gross than the showers.

Positive experience: Overall the location is convenient, the staff are nice, and it’s a large gym. There are overcrowding issues, specifically from 5pm - 9pm, Monday to Thursday.

Fantastic experience: As someone who’s sexist, racist, and homophobic, I have a hard time fitting in modern day society. I would’ve been praised if I was around in the 70s, because my hatred is tasteful and backed exclusively by logical reasoning. Unfortunately, being alive in a time where 90% of men are gay and most women are actually men, good hearted people like myself receive tons on backlash. I needed a gym that was a judgment free zone so I tried planet fitness, and their advertisements couldn’t be more false. I made my views clear to leadership, and they declined to sign me up. Came to LA Fitness Cambridge because they’re an excellent community that actually believes in freedom of expression and legitimate equality for all.

Negative experience: Every other gym is now 24hrs here in Cambridge except LA. I've seen many people cancelling their gym membership because of short closing time of this gym. I hope the management does something about it as being a member myself I can't be into the gym on weekends since they close at just 8:00 pm

Negative experience: Very rude customer service all managers very rude I don’t know why , very dirty the hot tub like everything dirty takes too long to repair stuff.

Fantastic experience: I lead group fitness classes at LA Fitness in Cambridge and love the energy and enthusiasm of our fantastic class participants. Mike and Theresa also lead spin classes at different times so check our schedule and join our growing indoor cycling community! It's a great facility, and we have terrific staff, trainers and other group/class leaders.

Negative experience: They have good qualities but maintenance is not their best quality. There have been issues with this in the past and the latest one is the jacuzzi of which is been inoperable for two weeks. Since I use the jacuzzi on a daily basis to relax and for health reasons I confronted the staff regarding the amount of time the jacuzzi has been inoperable and was told that tests were done on it and they were still waiting for the results. Results must be coming from overseas by boat. You can do better than that. After over 4 weeks the jacuzzi was once again functional but the day after the jets were not working due to low level of water. Certainly not good maintenance. UPDATE. Jacuzzi down for repairs end of September and now Aug. 21 not much done on repairs. I looked at the repairs today and it looks the same as a couple of weeks ago. Don't know what the agenda is but certainly prolonged and inefficient.

Negative experience: It takes so long to repair stuff. Before it was pool, then sauna, after half of showers didn’t work. Now whirlpool, it takes weeks to make it fix. They repair one thing, then another happens and so on. Probably, management are saving money to hire cheap not experienced contractors or companies and cheap materials, it’s difficult to say, but this frustrated going on and on repairs are really annoying and make customers not happy. One more thing. The pool has only 3 lines and they are always busy, not because of many people visit it, but a lot of people use pool as training facilities for 40 and more minutes. I told the manager that pool it’s not for training professional swimmers of Olympic Games, but is used for recreational purpose and should be a notice to use it, for example, not more than 20 minutes, but there is no reaction. Hopes this issue concerns not only me, but a lot of others.

Fantastic experience: I was originally a member at the Kitchener location which sadly closed. My favorite workout is the cycle classes. Its worth the drive to Cambridge (I never thought I'd say that) as the same cycle instructors teach there. Mike and Karl are exceptional, experienced instructors. Love to hate them during the class as they push us past our comfort zone . Kind and encouraging throughout it all. I credit my recovery from a torn acl due to their guidance when I was easing my way back into regular workouts.

Positive experience: I’ve been a member at LA Fitness for just over a year now and overall my experience is positive. The staff are very friendly, the machines are always working and quickly fixed if not, and the space is clean. My one complaint with this gym is the showers. They are often dirty and the shower heads are awful. Some upgrades to the showers/taps in the change rooms would warrant a 5-Star review and would make this location a premium spot.

I injured myself a couple weeks back trying to bench 225, I got stuck under the bar and was in some serious pain and Walberto helped me out of the jam, got me everything I needed and called the ambulance for me. Negative experience: i have been trying to cancel the membership, and its almost impossible for one to get the membership cancelled. procedure has been made so complicated, that u literally go thru hell before they cancel ur membership. Guys watch out before you sign up. make sure you read the fine prints. on the name of " COMPANY POLICY", they can get you signed anything that u will regret later on.

Negative experience: Decided to take advantage of checking this place out with a 7 day pass. I was told after trying out the place on day 1 to meet the person I communicated with after the hour and I’d get the pass. Instead, I was met with a person trying to sell a membership, even offered corporate rate shaving only $5 more off if I joined that day. I was told to go home and think about it as this offer would be held. Never was given the 7 day pass and will not return to these amateurs.

When LA Fitness Kitchener closed down (sadly), it was my total love for the wonderful cycle instructors (Karl, Mike and Theresa) that made it worth the while to make the drive to Cambridge. They challenge, inspire and build a great cycle family. If you are looking for fantastic cycle classes that offer a great workout, then LA Fitness Cambridge is a great place to be.

Negative experience: So I was told to give a 5 star review for a day pass . I did, then a friend invited me back to use his 7 day free pass. The manager said he cannot allow me in with that pass since I had already used a free day pass for 5 star review. The only way I could workout with my friend is by buying the membership or paying 20 dollars. So I have changed my review, I am not a fan of being put on the spot like that nor being treated as such. Now for sure I'll go to fit4less.
