Pan Am Pool

Positive experience: Great facility and location. Would have given 5 stars except during a 4 day competition event, there was no concession for fans except for pop and junk food. Need to improve in this area and take lessons from hockey venues.

Negative experience: Used to be a 5.

Positive experience: Nice big facility, friendly staff Would recommend, my daughter really likes going there. Didn’t give 5stars because of the perverts in changing room is a really big turn off. Be careful with your kids.

Negative experience: One staff suddenly set 15 kids/babies as Max. limit in the kiddie pool on Nov. 15th, which is ridiculous. We have to wait 30 min and my son developed severe cold and high fever thereafter.

Fantastic experience: I love the shallow pool, it’s one big pool with a consistent depth vs a pool with varying depths from shallow to deep, so you are not worried if your child wanders to the other end. I go with my daughter on both weekdays and weekends. The female change room comes out directly to the shallow pool which is nice. On weekends, there’s a bit of wait to enter, but never long.

Fantastic experience: Excelent place to enjoy weekends with kids. The only thing is the floor in the change room doesn't look so clean

Negative experience: Was really rude to are friend group they kicked us out for no reason random security guard. They believed an adult over a kid

Negative experience: This place was better in the old days, just went with my 3 year old son and the lifeguards were very hostile and taking any chc to yell at people or throw their weight around. Not a great environment, very toxic. They make you feel like you are burdening them by being there. I only gave 2 stars because the facility is excellent. Not the staff.

Positive experience: Basically clean...might be time for a bit of a face lift...track isn't very good compared to Cindy Klassen and it's quite humid in there due to the pool. Exercise room is kind of small but it overlooks rhebpool which is nice.

Positive experience: Kids had fun playing in the Kiddie pool and the shallow end of the main pool. Lots of float toys available to keep them entertained. Would be nice if the showers were warmer as the kids are cold when they get out and the shower water is not much warmer. But they had fun overall and ask to go back.

Fantastic experience: We came on a free swim day. There was a short lineup to get in but it was only about a 10-minute wait. The kiddie pool was quite full so we used a different public area. Teens and young adults really liked the high dive boards

Fantastic experience: I've only been here for City of Winnipeg swimming lessons, so keep that in mind. - you don't have to pay to enter the facility if you are registered for swimming lessons through the city - there is a universal change area before entering the pool with separate change/shower stalls (about 4) -bring a quarter for the locker (you will get the quarter back after you return the key). I didn't see any lockers that you can bring your own lock for in the Universal change room. -street shoes aren't allowed on the pool deck, so if you don't want to go in bare feet, bring clean shoes/sandals - there are gendered change rooms inside the pool area (I didn't go in those) Overall, a really good experience with swimming lessons.

Positive experience: I've gone here for years, good facility. It's much older now, starting to look quite dated. The family washrooms are odd. They look nice, but there is no change table in the washroom or shower area. It's very difficult if you have a baby and need to pee or shower....

Positive experience: The pool are clean and well maintained, just that you’re not allowed to eat inside the area. You have to go out and eat outside. If you’re planning to stay longer make sure you bring drinks and snacks with you as they don’t sell anything in there. Otherwise, there were bleachers, tables, chairs and washrooms that you can use. Admission rates are, $6 for adults and $3.35 for children.

Negative experience: Some rude staff at front desk, unreachable by phone (call cannot be completed) and emails don’t go through. Poor management!!! Discriminate people who can’t speak well English.

Positive experience: Volunteered at the World Police and Fire Games. The venue was way too hot inside the pool area. Everyone complains at the swimming competitions, not sure why it's heated so much.

Fantastic experience: Great facility and pleasant, kind staff. Parking lot is a little crazy, however, and pretty dangerous for pedestrians. More than a handful of times where I’ve seen kids & adults leaving or entering the facility nearly run over by cars/SUVs driven by presumably parents dropping off, picking up their kids or racing to find a parking spot near the doors. Better speed limit/one way signage and improved pedestrian infrastructure (e.g. sidewalks and upgrading the unprotected crosswalk to become a lighted corridor) might make it a bit safer.

Fantastic experience: There is a swimming pool with rain - mushroom for children 1-7 years old. Swimming pool for older kids. Swimming pool for adults, and a pool for athletes.

Positive experience: I had not been back to this pool for decades! I remembered it as cold, not anymore! Great swimming temperatures with lots of room to play. There are so many flotation toys for the kids. The diving end is quite fun with lots of space to practice. Lane swims plenty with lots of space. The kiddie pool is a good size, and the kids really enjoyed the warm temps. I am looking forward to seeing what the renovations are like. I recommend Sunday afternoons. A great winter activity.

Kiddie pool absolutely freezing to the point that my very easygoing toddler couldn’t last more than 7 minutes in it, and he’s supposed to start half hour lessons in it next week.

Positive experience: Good facility but water is a little cool. I wanted to stay longer but I felt really cold.

Negative experience: It was our 6-year olds first swimming lessons and while he likes the water he hasn’t really put his head underwater for any significant amount of time not learned proper breathing or blowing bubbles. Is it normal for the instructors to regularly push his head under water? All it’s managed to do to him is cause panic when his head goes under water because he’s choking. We’ve stopped bringing him to lessons. The reception staff was nice though..

Positive experience: We have only had kiddie pool experiences though. Facility is great and instructors are patient especially Nadia she is very thoughtful and caring. Missing one star for temperature of kiddie pool not consistent and from last time we've been there it was too cold for me even. When everyone came to the shallow end for free play my baby was shaking. Also heard from other parents saying Pan am kiddie pool temperature is lower than others.

Negative experience: Not worth the price. This is semi government funded by taxpayers but they charge more than private facilities. Appalling to say the least. People at the counter are uneducated and lack manners and people skills. The city hires any jo blow to work for them.

Positive experience: when it’s open it’s great, problem is the diving boards are closed half the time or there’s a program being run that takes up the pool, pool is cold sometimes.

Positive experience: Great location. Huge parking option available. This place is so great in terms of location and area wise. Close to one of the best park, library etc. It covers lot of area. Place is neat and clean. This place is good for big events and can accommodate lot of people even it gets busier. Customer service is also good. Life guard also doing good job. I personally feel the entrance and exit to be little nuisance. There are emergency exits but for regular visits from and thru you have to cross through unnecessary paths like going through washrooms and locker area which could be cut down with better plan.

Positive experience: Large facility multiple pools mostly geared towards adults/older children we came with two toddlers and though there is a kiddie pool it is smaller and lacking a bit in comparison to some of the newer facilities like Seven Oaks pool.

Negative experience: It is a shame that in 2022, there is still completely freezing air everywhere; the whole thing is children unfriendly : 1 changing table / station per entire changing room; lack of benches and the showers are cold and the waterflow is rough to make small babies really scared. Very hard to believe there was no way finding money to get some heaters and changing tables!

Fantastic experience: Really good place for swimming! They also have all kinds of jump boards up to Olympic level heights. Full size lockers eat your quarter, so make sure you have lots of coins, if you frequently open and close your locker in one visit, or just go the the half size lockers that are located closer to the showers, which refunds your quarter.

Fantastic experience: We have a secret we just drop in on bad weather days and swim. The family pass is our best option and it’s in 2 hour slots so time them out based on the day. No fun slides but you can teach ur kids to swim.
