Negative experience: The place is ok! It’s huge but is far front enough machines to train, especially leg machine. Has one leg abduction for the whole gym. Had to weight 10 minutes and had 3 people for use on Sunday. And that is not the only one that is not enough most of leg equipment (except for leg press) just have one available.

Negative experience: Staff is extremely rude and condescending. Waited in line for another person dealing with his membership which is totally fine. What isn’t fine is them just allowing everyone else to cut you and line helping them with the same issue you had. Front desk staff needs a course on how to talk to people. Travel across Canada been to many goodlifes. The only one where the staff talks to you like they are above you.

Negative experience: I wanted to be a first-time monthly member and wanted to do a quick exercise for the day and go home. I stopped by and went through the enrolment process. I was not happy that I needed to go through many unnecessary question. It was not the welcoming atmosphere. No welcome salutation, No smile, no passion. I did not need any advice for weight loss or choosing a type of exercise. They also did not have a lock for locker to lend for a customer. I did not want to leave my belongings unattended. I was not offered to store my stuff at customer service. I gave up and left the gym. I will not use this gym next time.

Fantastic experience: Nice big gym. Lots of space and equipment. I go early in the morning, so maybe that's why I've rarely had to wait for equipment. Steam room and massage chairs are a nice bonus

Fantastic experience: I can only speak on the yoga, but everything else seems very high end and in order. The Sunday double 9 am core flow and 10 am Yin yoga (pretty much adult stretching and napping) with Michelle S are the best doubles in the city and a great way to start a Sunday and prepare yourself for the week. Also the yoga facility is top end and probably the best in the city. Marketing and the social media team could have let us know about it sooner.

Fantastic experience: Great gym, wide variety of equipment to use and very kind staff. They helped me a lot. Keep in mind that you need to bring your own key for lockers, but they lend me some spare ones.

Negative experience: Salesperson Kyle was pleasant and helpful, and I would rate both him and the gym itself 5 stars. However, we made a mistake in taking the personal trainer "deal" for half price, as the only female trainer at GoodLife Fitness informed us that it was merely a demonstration of how the equipment works. She stated that if I wanted anything more, my package would cost around $1000 for 2 weeks, or she would not work with me and would pass me on to a male trainer (I had specifically requested a female trainer). When I contacted her, she informed me that she had already passed me on to the male trainer and that the appointment we had made was canceled. I have tried to contact the manager, Drew, for the past 6 days, but despite leaving 5-6 voicemails, I have not received any response.

Positive experience: It's a good gym, but it's too hot. 69 degrees & turns into a boiler when it's peak & you're hot from your workout.

Fantastic experience: Where do I start? GoodLife Fitness is well maintained and well staffed. Staff consistently circulate the floor and are on standby if you have a question or concern. The facilities are equipped with several cardio options and space to find your comfort level to match your fitness goals. As with any gym, there are times throughout the day where the weight machines and dumbbell rack area are full/at capacity, and my only wish would be for there to be an additional weight area on the lower level or for the space in the gym to be utilized more effectively to provide more room for weightlifting enthusiasts. My interactions with staff have always been positive and pleasant, I appreciate the excellent customer service and the options for on demand and in person classes. You’ll often see trainers “sprinkled around” assisting individuals with their fitness goals and form. If you’re looking to enhance and upgrade your fitness goals, I’d highly recommend GoodLife Fitness as one of your options. GoodLife is a Canadian organization, which is also something to consider when searching for a gym. GoodLife very much reminds me of Virgin Active locations in Asia- the concept of having all the amenities in one space is perfect for people who enjoy the one stop shop.

Negative experience: My recent experience at the gym was extremely disappointing. The front desk staff were very unfriendly, giving my friends and me suspicious looks and refusing us entry. And later they discovered it was a system update issue that caused the misunderstanding, but the staff's attitude was very disheartening. Please take employee training seriously, especially in customer service and communication.

Negative experience: The worst Gym experience i have ever had. Got my limited edition shoes stolen from the locker room in minutes on top of a new pair of headsets of another friend of mine. This comes in as a shame for a fitness centre chain that hosts corporate memberships and people bring in all types of valuables. When addressing the staff; all they have is an option to lodge a complain which will be of no help later. I mean they are doing their best but boils down to the issue of stealing at a community place and funnels down to the mindset and morals of the people you choose to train amongst on top of the management doing nothing and still hosting corporate discounts.

Negative experience: I am not the type to leave a review but you guys sincerely need to reevaluate your staff and teach them to not be rude at every chance they get. Most of them can’t even help out the slightest. They always asking to come daytime when a supervisor is around. Like i have been using Goodlife for 3 years now and i know they allow free passes for first timers but your staff always wanting knew people to just sign up membership and wouldn’t agree to giving free trial. And also. Washrooms is always dirty and stinking from 9-1am. Locker room has been the cleanest i have seen it thou. And i always see the cleaners working at 12am but i don’t think they clean washroom floor. I have been to Goodlifes in Toronto and mann. It’s the cleanest washrooms and locker rooms i have seen. And staff are basically there to direct not to instigate.

Negative experience: Only writing this based on the experience of the MindDen meditation studio. These two rooms are next to the staff office and you can hear everything, I over heard a staff members very potty mouth and every detail of his sexual experiences. Was not a space to meditate peacefully. The rest of the gym is great! Clean and well maintained

Negative experience: My friend he is a member and invited me to do the free trial but the front desk told me I have to go on a 20 minutes tour, I said I’m sorry I have no time to waist for that I just wanna have a good time with my friend and try the free trail the front desk with the awful attitude that wanna show the dominance and telling me it will be 26 dollars or no! Some times people have many things to do in their life gotta go home cook for the family and time is money for them . But according to the front desk if I don’t wanna waist my own time I have to pay them 26 dollars for drop in that with my friend’s membership that has free trial!! So I guess if I did go for a tour they should give me 26 dollars for my time ? ?

Fantastic experience: Generally don’t like people so working out in public always gave me a bit of anxiety. Was able to joint GoodLife at the beginning of the year and have been pleasantly surprised at the experience around 5am. I don’t feel out of place. There is a good variety of weight machines though I wish they had some more duplicates of a few. The locker rooms have always been pretty clean. Only gripe is people being lazy and not wiping the equipment down. This is a people problem and not a GL problem though there are plenty of stations setup. Staff have always been friendly. Even just a “have a good morning” on the way out is always nice to hear.

Negative experience: This gym is so Big. But they can’t even clean the change rooms. Most Disgusting change rooms. Trash, dirt and junk everywhere and the lockers are filthy inside. Disgusting! I will go back to shapes once my Membership is done!

Negative experience: Today I had the displeasure of working with the team at goodlife fitness at the newmarket blvd location. For context, I was invited to use a free guest day pass given to me at the Mcphillips location to use to bring a friend but it was not mentioned that it had to be this specific location. When my guest tried to use the pass at the newmarket location we were told that this offer didn't exist. We asked that the team call the number on the card which was the number at the mcphillips goodlife so they could communicate amongst each other. However, this idea was not entertained and we were asked to pay the $25 drop in or leave. We wish the newmarket team would have used the contact information on the card, but they were not willing to. After trying to resolve the complication amongst ourselves , they decided to honor the pass if we met with a trainer and listen to memberships. When the trainer realized my guest had paid for drop ins at this location before months ago, we were no longer entitled to the free day pass (which was not mentioned on the day pass, even in the fine print) We took it upon ourselves to contact the mcphillips location who agreed that the voucher should be honored since the voucher did not provide an exclusion for us. The team at the newmarket location were visibly displeased and let us know that a new reason we were not allowed to use the pass is because we have used a guest pass 8 months ago from my membership that is independent of this offer. The team at the Mcphillips location mentioned this was not properly documented at the newmarket location by their staff and thus, we were entitled to use the day pass. Ultimately we were allowed 1 free workout, but the experience was tainted by glares and mutters amongst the staff as they were redeeming the voucher. We understand their frustration and hope our feelings can be heard out. Understanding that we took time and gas to make the trip to this location. The situation took 40 minutes to resolve and we only wish that it could have been communicated internally before attempting to dismiss us. I asked many times if it was a misunderstanding on our end because we understand if it is our mistake, but the Mcphillips location assured us that it was not. We really appreciate the transparency and communication that was provided by the team at Mcphillips and thank them for their help. (After reading reviews, it appears a similar situation also occurred 3 months ago)

Negative experience: I have never left a review before, but I feel compelled to share my recent experience at this GoodLife fitness branch I've been a member for over a year and this is my primary location , although I took a break between September and January due to being out of town. Upon returning, I noticed a significant change in the staff's attitude. It seems like they've adopted condescension as a new hiring requirement. During my recent visits, I encountered new staff members who were extremely condescending. When I asked a simple question, one staff member suggested I go to Planet Fitness if I didn't like the gym's policies. On another occasion, I witnessed a staff member speaking rudely to a lady who was struggling to use the self-entry key scan. Despite loving the amenities at GoodLife Fitness, I now avoid interactions with staff to prevent encountering more disrespectful behavior. It's disheartening to feel this way about a gym I once enjoyed. I hope this feedback prompts management to address the unprofessional behavior among staff members and ensure a more positive experience for all members.

Fantastic experience: they have one of the best boxing classes i’ve ever taken! a super nice room just dedicated for it. their weight room is massive, and has a lot of equipment compared to altea and shapes, it was pretty impressive

Positive experience: My first experience here was excellent. Young and super helpful reception, tons of amenities and a very clean and sanitized environment. Lots of extras many places don’t have: hydromassage chairs, meditation room, lap pool…. Very impressed. Went here for a spin class and left happy!

Negative experience: Got a phone call from a lady named Katrina during my work and she just hang up the phone all after some extremely impatient hello questions. I think she was about to talk about the 3 times passes I booked online. I just asked “ sorry, from where and who is this?”, but maybe because of the working time, I cannot hear her clearly and she just hang up the phone rudely! Such a ridiculous scenario! Have ever someone even taught you to be more patient and respectful to your work? Or because it’s a big gym and you don’t really need anymore clients? Will never visit this gym for sure and won’t recommend any of my friends to be there. I called her and asked why she hang up my phone call rudely. Instead of saying sorry, she found the excuse because of the bad connecting. Can’t believe!

Positive experience: Facility and classes are amazing. However it's been almost 3 months since the steam room is closed. There is no estimate when it will be repaired.

Fantastic experience: Brand new beautiful facility that has an incredible selection of machines and weights available plus every amenity possible including tanning rooms, boxing classes and a juice bar! Negative experience: April 2022 I went to brand new club to sign up for promotional pricing $57.98 a month. Seven months later they tell me I was signed up on a corporate rate and since I left my job I’ll start paying $74. Advertisements on social media and the radio for $57.98 and the staff had me sign a contract for something else. Management wont take responsibility and when I called the customer service they created a ticket and when I got the email reply, “we are unable to honour the promotional rate” “you should have read the contract you signed” their employee had me sign the wrong contract and their sticking me with the bill. SCAM, logically why would I sign a conditional corporate contract and not a permanent guaranteed promotional rate for the same price per month knowingly. lots of other gyms, don’t sign up here! Not worth the trouble. Plus the facilities are always dirty and stink. Never clean water filters and we pay for a steam room that never works. Showers smell like something crawled in and died. Staff really don’t care about the facility and the 90 year old manager told me that some people pay $20 a month depending when they signed up to comfort me.

Fantastic experience: I started going to this Goodlife most recently. I was signed up with a trainer ( whom I feel a very good rapport with to help me obtain my goals!) The staff, 10/10, the ladies locker room might need some help in the showers and locker area's but otherwise, great facilities!

Negative experience: Extremely unpleasant front staff at Newmarket location. My husband is a member at the gym and he asked me to go with him to try it out as there is a free trial, which was mentioned to him previously by one of the staff members and as well it’s on the website. When we got there and asked for a day pass the guy at the front desk immediately refused saying that they don’t offer free access and the only way I could get in is through the tour which can’t be done today. My husband wanted to speak to the manager but I refused because it was really humiliating and not really wanted to go in after being treated in such a poor way by the staff. Don’t know his name but that happened on Friday morning Jan 5.

Negative experience: Facility is really nice newer than the one I go to back home. But when I tried to just sign some friends up for a day pass to come in and try a good gym they wanted to have them buy one month membership!? When my friends mentioned the three day free trial they were told no they aren’t going to give it to them. I said this isn’t a good way to attract new customers they said “we have lots of members” really sad to see especially this time of year.

Positive experience: Clean, friendly staff. There has been a few times where issues with the virtual class system took longer than hoped to fix (over a month) other than that it's a great gym. I go pretty early in the morning. Lots of space, don't have to wait long, if at al for machines.

Fantastic experience: Definitely one of the best gyms in the city. The house rep or whatever is a little annoying but, as long as you steer clear, you're chilling. I love talking to the people at the front desk, very chill peeps. Some dudes just have no aim so the washroom usually smells like piss every evening but, if you go in the morning, you're fine. Equipment is great, I cannot think of much stuff that they are missing. My only gripe is that some people keep breaking the straps for the bikes so it would be really appreciated if they found another system for those. Also, the bikes don't have phone holders so that's a little sad. I just move the bike right up to the window sill and plop my phone on the sill to watch shows while working out.

Negative experience: Willow is a staff there, she is horrible person does not know how to manage clients bad behavior she ignore people. Very bad experience honestly you guys should remove her or teach her some knowledge. Me and 12 of my buddy goes here no we left this gym because of her unless you guys remove her we won't join back.

Fantastic experience: Excelent facility, extremely big with all the machines you want and more! The best part is the staff that is very knowledgeable, friendly and INCLUSIVE! I tried another gym for a few years, I forgot how great the Goodlife team is, plus is around the clock! So pretty awesome!!! I am extremely satisfied with this facility! The Goodlife is amazing too, because they are a chain of facilities, so more than just Winnipeg! Extremely satisfied!

Fantastic experience: Amazing facility and the staff is more amazing. Very huge facility with lots of high end equipments (way too many to try them all in one day lol) Brock the manager was awesome he provided the most helpful Informations to make it an easy smooth sign up process. I have already referred multiple friends and family to go to this location due to the consistency of providing exceptional customer experience provided by Brock and his team!

Fantastic experience: The equipment variety and amount is fantastic, it's laid out great and spaciously, and staff have been great as well. I've walked into a messy locker room once or twice but the reality of that is staff can't be in there 24/7 and it's always cleaned pretty quickly after I've seen it. I'll never blame the staff for that as that is other people leaving their towels and bottles and garbage all over the place instead of putting them in the provided bins and hampers. The actual gym floor has always been clean. I haven't used any of the extra services like massage chairs, meditation rooms, sauna, tanning, pool, classes, juice bar but the list just goes on here and they all seem great. Overall this gym is big, very nice inside, full of all sorts of options for fitness and health, and full of great staff.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely love this new location of GoodLife. There are plenty of spaces, levels and machine that you are never waiting. The glass walls, plenty of light and great air circulation keeps the entire area clean and fresh no matter which time of the day you step in. The best part - it is 24 hours open! They have swimming pool, meditation area and great massage chairs that completely unwind you after the long day at work. Due to these additional features the place is not only great to workout but also to relax and regroup. Their is a juice bar, towel service, huge locker/change rooms. Washrooms and showers are spacious and even when they are busy, you don’t feel crammed in. Staff is amazing and always happy to help. Although I haven’t used myself there are plenty of personal training programs available should you need. Would highly recommend checking them out. Please ‘like’ if this review helped you. Thanks

Positive experience: They recently changed their floor plan and have made WAY better use of the space. I enjoy doing cardio here because machines are high quality and all the windows let in amazing sunshine :) The only downfall that is really frustrating.. how sticky the smith and leg press machines are. If you were to let go of the smith bar, it doesn’t fall to the ground because it is so sticky. Leg press is similar..it has heavy resistance (without plates) so it makes training inconsistent if you are hopping between different club locations. It can be really frustrating, they need some service.

Fantastic experience: This is easily the best gym in Winnipeg. It’s a brand new facility constructed only a couple of years ago. It’s open 24/7. The equipment is top-notch. Well-maintained, cleaned, and the best quality. The staff is extremely friendly, parking is plentiful, the showers are clean, the change roomis spacious and lockers are generally available. There’s also a pool, Hydro, massage, chairs, sun, tanning, boxing, and of course personal training. You can’t go wrong here. If you want the best, then this is it.

Negative experience: I would consider the poor customer service. I'm still member of goodlife fitness, but my experience with this particular centre is not good. May 19, morning in between 1 am to 2 am. I went to main counter for towel, and staff member over there told me to pick the towel from basket. I got confused because other centers and even this place towels at front end if desk for customers. She was busy using mobile phone, so she did not place the towels at front end of the desk. Instead she replied you are supposed to pick from there. I wm just wondering then what is her role over there? I went to other goodlife fitness centres as well, I never had such experience even here at different times. Might be she didn't consider immigrants respectable to offer the same services as to citizens over here, or she has more importance of mobile than her job work.

Fantastic experience: I just moved here from out of province and finding a gym was one of my top priorities. I checked out three in the south Winnipeg area and Good Life definitely rose to the top! The facilities are GREAT and I really like the three option membership choice. It's a great place to incorporate a healthy and whole lifestyle. Even driving down Scurfield to the facility is serene. I have felt seen, and valued and my orientation with Eric gave me some good input that I will definitely put to use. Good Life Fitness Refinery District for the win!

Negative experience: Over night staff never greet members upon entry or exit like the other locations do. This location caters to post secondary students and adults in their 20s, and the gym is always packed with them. This location is always dirty and busy. Cancelling my membership and going to a better gym. The Kenaston location was better all around. Too bad. Had high hopes for this gym before.

Negative experience: too many things not working scale in mens change room no no 30% in recovery room are not working all machines need maintainance and through cleanup dusting is never done no one is available at floor if we need any guidance or assistance specialy when i pay upsized membership even in super busy hours wear and tear are not taken care of on treadmills and ellipticals showers stink bad and soap ain not refilled more than once nobody bithers to check can't expect this carelessness from such an amazing facility but staff at front is nice and friendly

Positive experience: As much as I do love GoodLife, there is no good time to go to this location with 50 other people and all their friends there. I dont think there is enough benches, the two cables machines are always being used, and there is very little room to use the free weights since there is never an open bench. it just makes me really miss the keneston location :/

Negative experience: The dirtiest gym I have been to and by far the dirtiest goodlife location of all the ones I have visited in Winnipeg. There is mud and dirty towels all over the place in the mens changing room and shower areas. It's been like this for months and management seems to not care.

Positive experience: Best infrastructure. But always busy. In the winter time their parking lots are not cleared of snow. Also inside the gym ,I feel like carbon dioxide is more . Wonder if they have good air equipment

Positive experience: I like how the pool is accessible 24/7. I get off work at 2am and it is convenient for my schedule. However, I wish the steam room was working. It’s been over 3 months since I’ve joined and it’s still not in service. I also recently saw people sleeping in the gym overnight on the couches and using the towels as blankets. Kind of odd that this is allowed lol.

Negative experience: Hmmm had a tour of gym ( been to many gym over the years) nice facility, lots of options for workouts, for the price( even at corporate rate( disappointed to hear steam room is still broken after 3 months not to mention how tiny it is. Read other reviews saying management slack( not impressed) and pool is wide open glass viewing next to sitting area where one would feel like an animal being watched in a cage. As a women this is extremely unnerving when I just want to workout & not FEEL like I'm being oggled in my swimsuit ( maybe frost the glass part way). No family corporate rate available, and judging that there is NO responses from management on this review page should be an indication on howthey feel about they customer service.....I expected to be wowed for the monthly fee. Overall first impressions.....mehhhh!

Fantastic experience: Transferred my home gym from Regent /Lag to the refinery location a few months back! I love the size of the gym and how I’m never waiting for any machines here! Another plus was that the front desk attendants will actually talk and are amazing to get to know. Shoutout to Harry who will always ask how your days going and will offer to spot you whenever you need a hand! Makes the gym feel more homely!
