Negative experience: Here it is; after being a member for quite a few years here, I can honestly say this gym has gone completely downhill since covid. If you want a dirty gym that can't keep employees for a mid price, with broken equipment, COME ON DOWN! A few good trainers, one wannabe cocky new trainer I've never wanted to hit more. A plethora of non-equipment wiping users, and the list continues! But hey, I'm just paying to be here, right? Goodbye brickhouse! I can roll outside in the dirt for FREE!

Fantastic experience: I'm currently working with Coach Q and Coach B at The Brickhouse Gym, located on Gertrude Avenue in the Osborne area. Their business name is Quantum Physique Transformation (can see on Facebook and Instagram). They are absolutely hands down the best. Their program gets results. I've been following my meal guide (amazing how this impacts results and overall well-being), and I workout with Coach B a few times a week roughly an hour or so per session. I'm in their group fitness program, planned small, not too big, just right, and at scheduled times throughout the day/week to accommodate schedules. Everyone is supportive and nice. In 5 weeks, I have lost about 10lbs. I'm building a stronger, healthier body at 41 years of age. I feel so much better than I did at the beginning. More energy. The journey isn't over, so I cannot wait to work hard and hit my fitness goal that I set out with Coach Q just over a month ago. It'll take some time, but I'm all in. The group workouts are great (pretty sure they also do one on one), an array of ages mixed in, various fitness levels, and the support and encouragement come in abundance from everyone. It has been a great help having all this combined. Powerful stuff, very positive and I'm having fun too. I have tried to get going on my own several times to lose weight, eat better etc., but this group thing and the dedicated Coaches is finally what works. It pushes you in the best way possible. The workout environment is very comfortable (I admit, I was scared to workout being so out of shape as I was, maybe feel out of place). Day one at the gym, I realized it was all in my head, cause' it was welcoming group, supportive. I won't ever forget that, and how awesome everyone was. Big thank you to everyone at Quantum Physique Transformation (and The Brickhouse Gym), and all the folks I've been working out with, truly inspirational and just overall awesome experience. I can't say enough good things about them. So happy, and grateful to find them. Thank you thank you thank you. Highly recommend

Fantastic experience: Great neighborhood gym! Nice relaxed atmosphere, good ammount of racks and benches for the size of the building. Oly platform, deadlift platforms, good selection of bars you aren't going to find at a commercial gym like rogue ohio and some men's and women's Olympic bars.

Negative experience: If only it was possible to give this company less than 0 stars, my brother signed me up in this gym and set me up a profile, everything was good at the beginning, until the day he dislocated both shoulders while inside their gym, they never reached out to him or even bothered to ask how he is doing. So we decided to cancel and move on. I called in to cancel and i was told sure. Little that i know cancellation can only be done through an online form and i wasn’t told that over the phone. 7 months later i receive a collection email for an outstanding balance of 400$, they never notified me about it, i never received a text message from them. I went inside to talk to them about it, the operations manager is probably one of the most unprofessional people i have ever met, he thought i was lying to him about it and i was just avoiding my payments, his answer was i send collection requests everyday and i know how it goes, i tried explaining the best i could he said im willing to help you just send me an email, that was his only trick to get rid of me because his shift ended and was trying to leave ASAP. I’m an international student with minimum hours allowed to work and i still paid the collection amount because i don’t want stains on my credit report. You can’t imagine the stress and anxiety that comes when you’re obligated to put money that should’ve went to groceries or rent. Overall the location i had the experience with is highly unprofessional, none appreciative most importantly NO customer service skills whatsoever. Very disappointing.

Negative experience: Unethical business practices - I cancelled my membership in 2019. There was a period between October 2019 and August 2020 where there were no transactions. Then without my knowledge the transactions turned on again. 11 transactions and $540 of charges on my bank statements later and I realize I have been paying for a membership I didn't sign up for. Because I don't have a copy of the paper cancellation policy I signed in 2019 there is nothing Brickhouse can do. 0 out of 10 I would not recommend to my family or friends.

Fantastic experience: Excellent place for anyone looking for a friendly atmosphere. Primarily free weights here. This is known to be a powerlifting gym. However you will find machine and cardio equipment as well. I’ve never personally attended a class but i know they offer boxing/kickboxing. A member ship gives you access to the grttrude location as well as a larger King Edward location.

Negative experience: Bad customer service from the beginning when I called to ask if I could come in to check the place and the answer was no but instead I can look to the website for the pictures of the place so I did. The few pictures that anyone can see in the website doesn't even reflect what you can see in real. The places is dirty, smells bad, the equipment is very old and also some doesn't even work. Air conditioning doesn't work properly either and it is just occupying space all over the floor, I think this place looks forward to don't spend any amount of money but still charges full price for such a poor service. Don't expect anything from this place!

Negative experience: This gym is the worst one in Winnipeg, do not recommend it at all! During this time of COVID it is really dirty so I can't imagine how it was before. The place, the floor and the machines are old and careless. On top of this, some machines does not work, there are papers all over or machines crossed out with tape. Customer service is extremely poor, blond lady in the front desk is always speaking on her cellphone giving zero attention to the customers. Water disinfectant smells really bad and, finally, bathroom is also dirty.

Positive experience: A very nice gym. Perhaps a little lacking in certain equipment or rough around the edges but a very nice gym. I enjoy powerlifting, and Brickhouse has the perfect environment for that sort of thing and I was told there was more equipment at their other location which I will probably check out. I wouldn't say this is a good place for things like yoga, etc, like another place like goodlife or snap might be but that doesn't really seem to be the air they are going for there. However, if you would like to, all are welcome there.

Positive experience: I loved this gym based on convenience, price, and equipment available. I give it three stars since I gave up my membership because it was so filthy every time I went. Dirt, gravel and dust everywhere, and horrible gym etiquette when it comes to wiping down equipment after use. Bathrooms were often dirty as well. The facility I went to only had one shower and I could not bring myself to use it because of how grimy and gross it was.

Negative experience: I was really excited about the prospect of joining this gym after recently moving to Winnipeg as it looks like a serious weightlifting gym. The website says the monthly rate is $45. The website also says the following: "Whether you’re here for a day or committed to years, we’ve got exactly what you need". I dropped by the Gertrude St. location and explained that I was new to the area and the city and wanted to sign up for one month. The employee I spoke to said there was no one month rate available and that I would have to sign up for three months. She was very unfriendly and cold. It surprises me that any business would be so unwelcoming to a newcomer. There is just no way I was willing to consider dropping 3 months on the spot, given that the employee did not even offer a tour or make any sort of welcoming gesture. My sense is that they do not want outsiders and are looking to build an exclusive gym for regulars who are committed long-term, despite what their website says. Their website also says they offer daily passes for $10, but the employee did not even mention this. It was a complete waste of my time. I wanted to leave this review for anyone new who can be spared an unfriendly encounter at this business. Unless you are willing to sign up for a long-term commitment without even trying out the gym first, don't go there.

Fantastic experience: Really good gym! Wonderful for anyone looking for a no-frills, grungy, minimal machine (while they still offer quite a few) gym! It's no GoodLife but that's what I was looking for! Super quiet in the morning and the staff are so friendly! I go to the Gertrude location and it's a wonderful option for anyone living in the Village for a gym.

Positive experience: Bought the groupon. You can get 3 months for 60 (to be honest its more like 3 months for 85 after the pass and the registration fee) The rate then goes up to aprx. 50/mnth after which is...reasonable considering goodlife is now charging an arm and a leg. Once my rate goes up i will have to consider continuing with them. but all in all its a really good gym. Good equipment. and its 24/7.

Negative experience: The gym is very unkept and has old equipment. Paul is not incredibly organized and takes forever to respond to emails and calls. There are better gyms in the city.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member for a few months now and definitely plan to stay. Nice and small community feel! I haven’t tried classes yet but they offer several kinds after work hours.

Fantastic experience: Went to my first class today after a few years of not working out. My Brother-In-Law convinced me to go boxing with him and boy oh boy let me tell you, THAT is what I call a workout. JT kicked our butts, got us motivated and positive, and got us feeling good. 10/10, I am definitely coming back here.

Fantastic experience: Simple, no frills gym. It's not the prettiest but it's effective. Lots of weights, lots of racks, and plenty of cardio equipment.

Positive experience: Good old school gym. Not as much equipment as a typical commercial gym but the atmosphere makes up for it easily.

Fantastic experience: Excellent facility with multiple squat racks and punching bags, great place for strength training and provides 24 hour access. When I moved away from Winnipeg the staff was understanding and courteous with cancelling my membership.
