Positive experience: Sauna broken first week there due to “oils on the elements” annoying frankly. Everything else has been exceptional.

Occasionally, the sauna is used in ways that can cause issues with the equipment, leading to the need for repairs. Negative experience: Staff does not enforce their own policy regarding cell phones or "odors". People are consistently parked on machines texting as if it were a phone booth.The level of body odor paired with liberal application of industrial grade cologne has made the facility so offensive to the nose it was enough to scrap my membership after eight years. Save the money and invest in a home setup. Commercial gyms have become unusable outside of early morning or dead of night.

Positive experience: You Pay one of the highest fees in canada and dont get enough hours of operation!! It would be great if they , At least they can keep it open all days till 10 or 11pm !! They dont have punching bags too!

Fantastic experience: I've been a member at Goodlife Penhorn for well over 10 years. In that time, I have seen many good associates come and go. There are several working there now, but I want to point out that Tatiana is one of the best I've seen yet. She's a real go-getter, which is the exactly the kind of person Goodlife should want on their team. Not only that, but she makes time to talk to members and makes them feel welcome, which in my view, improves the gym experience.

Negative experience: $28 for a drop in rate is madness. $15-20 MAX for a guest in the area to use the facilities as a one off is reasonable but nearly $30..you're having a laugh. I wasn't in town long enough to justify a weekly pass and they did not offer me a free trial. Do better.

Fantastic experience: Love every time I go in the staff is incredibly friendly and always willing to help. The gym is consistently clean and well-maintained. The locker rooms are spacious and equipped with all the amenities you could need, including showers and saunas. Also the ones working front desk are so friendly and the Manager was the sweetest and most helpful with anything questions I have. Please dont change guys really helping the world be a better place.

Negative experience: Extremely basic gym. You'll pay a premium price for the bare minimum. They never add new equipment, max out at 100lbs dumbbells and have never had any plate loaded machines. Also very cramped during busy hours as the layout is awful. They do nothing well and if you have any complaints they'll probably do nothing.

Positive experience: This location needs to be open 24/7. The current hours in addition to the upcoming revisions to be implemented - do not make any sense. Lots of broken or worn out equipment, for which every week there's new postings of equipment out or service. Lastly, the inconsiderate members who insist of dropping weights which is not only disrespectful, (as the property doesn't belong to them) also stresses other patron's out as its startling. "We need to do better, come on people".

Negative experience: Male showers are absolutely filthy and few smell like urine. Last year I visited this location for the first time since its the closest to where I live and that's when I noticed this issue the first time. Brought it up with the local staff and they notified me that they're aware and the manager is working on it. Few months have passed, been using the location closest to my work until today and issue still hasn't been resolved which is why I'm writing this to bring more attention to the issue

Negative experience: Great place to workout and lose consciousness because of heat and sweat. HVAC is not working for at least one month. The cooprate wants to save money on HVAC so we can die from heat and the musk of peoplewho do not shower before working out. Goodlife will hold you accountable for everything on your end, but you can't challenge their end. Management is great, but their hands are tied and can't do anything for the poor consumer. Goodlife is quite quickly in taking subscription fees but will take ages to replace damaged necessary equipment. You can't safely workout in the absence of HVAC.

Positive experience: Only been going since march; not a bad club! The female's sauna is a dry wood one and relaxing. Only complaint is the upstairs section can get really warm, could use some floor fans especially on the hot/ humid days.

Negative experience: This as been my home gym for about 8 years, I love this gym and ALL past staff. This past year I've had some personal issues that had slowed me down BUT when it came to my attention the newer staff that had been hired this past year as been judgemental and talking about me with other members I stopped going all together. This is very unprofessional and weights heavy on my mental health to be judged by people that dont know me or as never even took the time to say hi to me. I have came back but well not tolerate this behavior in future and goodlife should have there staff at a higher standard .I am not the only member that as experienced this. This is sad to pay for a membership to be judged mentally and physically instead of getting healthy . Talk to your staff and educate them and also to not have them talk to members/ clients about others.

Negative experience: Inexperienced staff, not worth trying for anyone with experience. This gym is much fit4less with bad equipment due to their policies on noise and safety with weights. Staff would suggest certain ways to accommodate clients and backtrack the next day. Of all the GoodLife facilities in the Atlantic region, this is the worse.

Negative experience: It’s an average gym. It’s close and has all the equipment, but sauna often breaks, showers aren’t very clean, and towels are often not available. To upper management and those in charge of replying to these reviews: I suggest YOU email local management and hold them to a higher account. I’ve done my part.

Positive experience: Nice place with towel service , bathing area and sauna. Spacious space for cardio and strength training. The biggest disadvantage is its not 24 hours open throughout the week. Closes at 10 on Friday and Saturday and even worse is at 6:00 p.m on Sundays.

Fantastic experience: Womens change room is doused in kiddie parfume, made it hard to breath, reminded me of the parfume counter at The Bay or Sears. . The facility itself was dirty throughout. Rather disappointed. Members spend sufficient money to attend these facilities, so to find able bodied young people sitting at a desk while everything is dirty is counterproductive. Went back today, the place was spotless and no heavy scent in the change room. So much nicer, I stayed for the 2 hr workout today!!! Thanks to the owner for rectification!!

Negative experience: Very sad to learn they won't be bringing back childcare. It is so important for parents to be able to go to the gym. I understand removing it when covid happen but to not bring it back is truly heartbreaking.

Fantastic experience: Not a bad club, it is massive and has lots of equipment. I do like the lay out. I had training there, and reallly enjoyed it. The gym has a mixed bag of people, which is nice. The staff are pretty friendly - friendlier than other locations I’ve been to. The tanning beds are clean and they work well. Huge Change rooms

Fantastic experience: Stopped by twice while on vacation. They were very nice and let me use the free trial both days. Facilities were much nicer then my home gym and I enjoyed the sauna as well.

Positive experience: Decent gym, with well maintained workout areas and new equipment. The only reason this gem of a gym got a 4/5 instead of a 5/5 is the simple fact that it's not truly a 24hr gym like it's counterpart in Bedford. I've added a picture of the schedule as way of notifying anyone who is looking for a late night or very early work out.

Fantastic experience: Edit: Initially had some issues caused by very poor communication however I had the opportunity to work with the Fitness Manager, Jake. He worked with me in order to rectify the issues with my account, provided multiple options for payment plans and made sure I was able to keep going with my training at a different facility. He was a dream to work with and would strongly recommend that you talk with him if you're experiencing any issues with your account or training. Tried to suspend my account and personal training due to medical issues which apparently they couldn't because I had paid in full already. Then my trainer quit - he was excellent and would 100% recommend. No one reached out to continue training, absolutely no communication until the email saying they were going to send me to collections for lack of payment. Called the number provided to sort it out and no answer for 3 days. Eventually was told that I had to get in touch with the fitness manager to sort this out who was on vacation bit was told they would get back to me as soon as they got back. I still haven't heard anything and they're still sending the threaten collections emails. .

Positive experience: Place is a good gym for the location, staff, amount of equipment too but the thing that’s not good is that they advertise being a 24 hour gym when it is only actually two days a week. If not gonna be 24 hours all the time then probably should take the sign off the building.

Positive experience: Went there yesterday. Lots of equipment (both cardio and weights) and the sauna works well. Love this location. Only thing to improve - reorganize a space (perhaps 2nd floor between stairs and windows) to provide all members a spot for turf/trx/kettlebells. You're allowed to use those things but have to ask the personal trainers permission which is frustrating.

Fantastic experience: Undoubtedly the best Goodlife in the province. Manager has brought in a couple cybex pieces (squat press, hack squat) that make this gym a little different than all the other GoodLifes. Not crazy busy, chill staff, and better vibes than most other GL I have trained at.

Negative experience: I Have nothing negative to say about my personal trainer, he has been the absolute best! However, Goodlife as a whole is nothing but a money hungry establishment! I understand signing a contract that locks me in for a year with a personal trainer, but no one saw a Global pandemic coming and hundreds have lost income! I lost HALF of my income, I live alone with no financial help and could not afford three PT sessions a week anymore. I could only afford one session a week. In order for me to get out of my three session per week down to one session per week I had to pay nearly $1000 ON TOP of the $407 every two weeks! I could not afford the extra $1000 and had to continue with breaking the bank to pay for my gym membership, essentially a second months rent AFTER I explained my financial hit due to covid! This passed month I have medical issues and lost my ability to walk and stand, I am no longer able to work and have a DRS NOTE stating I am not able to continue at the gym for the time being and i have NO INCOME at the moment! My account was suppose to be on a temporary freeze, but instead I wake up this morning to Goodlife STILL taking money out of my account when I physically can’t even be there! I am DONE with this gym and they will not be getting another cent out of me! I will be contacting the head office and taking this issue further!
Fantastic experience: Super nice facility here! I came into this GoodLife hoping to join a new gym, unfortunately when I thought about it the location was a little too far from my house. I spoke with Veronica and she was lovely, talking me through my options and telling me about the gym. I'll consider joining GoodLife in the future if there is a location closer to where I live.

Negative experience: I have been a 22 year member I was told my tenure does not matter .. I have tanned at GoodLife for as long as there has been tanning beds but now I am not allowed anymore , unless I pay up lol.. I guess I was lucky to get tans.. Yet many others have never heard of a fee for tanning and tan there as well with nothing said ... some days they give you towels and others your not allowed . I guess it depends on who you are . 22 years of money means nothing at Portland st GoodLife lol .. can’t wait to go back ...

Negative experience: When the trainers are working with clients they occupy more than 1 or 2 pieces of equipment at a time. Asking others to wait.... I have waited as long as 20 mins to use a leg press. That’s unacceptable. They have personal training only sections. Shouldn’t they use those areas ? Today the trainer didn’t even come back to clean the squat press machine or tell me that his client was done. So disappointing!

While the equipment usage is on a first come first serve basis, we do expect that Members/Associates respect each others needs. We do expect that all of our Associates lead by example and wipe down equipment after using. We will share your comments with the Manager to have looked into.

Fantastic experience: Nice, clean gym with friendly staff. I recently did 6 weeks of group training with Katelynn and it was fantastic. She makes sure everyone is doing the exercises correctly and also adjusts each exercise for your individual strength/ability level so it is challenging for each person but still safe. Ask her about the program, it is really good value and makes working out fun. I also really like the yoga classes, and my son loves the JUMP staff. They are great with kids and he looks forward to going there.

Fantastic experience: This is a great early morning, before work/school gym. it has a stand up or lay down Tanner that is usually available and also has a massage chairs near the front doors. Lights are on the second floor completely separate from the cardio machines. The male locker room has lots of room and space. the staff is very friendly and welcoming when you go there.
Negative experience: Grease
Positive experience: An ordinary popular gym with affordable membership fee. Decent facilities. Friendly staff. A little bit too crowded in rush hours. Nothing else to complain.
Positive experience: Very nice place but missing some equipment
Negative experience: No notice was posted that I saw about closing early on family day. The price of your memberships should cover the cost of paying a staff member statutory holiday pay. You certainly make enough money off your members! If I have to work all day I expect to be able to work out when I'm off not get turned away at the door at 8pm

Positive experience: Nicest GL staff in the East coast work here. The only downside is that they need some new equipment, they have the same stuff here for the past 10 years or so. Most of the equipment is in good working order but it's just time for a little spice up.

Fantastic experience: Clean, organized and polite support staff, perfect hours and prime location with a supplement shop right out the door.
Fantastic experience: Being open for just 4 days at 24/4 is a tease. It would be good competition with Bedford and Lower Sackville which do have them open all week. The least we could do if we can't is to be open at 6 versus 8 on the weekend.
Fantastic experience: I used to workout here almost every day until I got my home gym set up. They have a little bit of everything for whatever your needs. If you mainly do cardio, they have a lot of treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, and stair climbers. If you're in to body building, they have all the strength equipment upstairs for your needs. They even have two power racks along with a squat rack for your squats, deadlifts, OHP etc. Great gym for everyone.
Positive experience: Decent lifting equipment for a goodlife. 2 power racks and a squat rack, spacious dumbbell area, and look to deadlift. Bars are okay. Chalk is fine if you clean up after yourself. In general a relatively powerlifting friendly gym. Just don't drop the weights
Positive experience: Big club with good equipment but busy
