Positive experience: Great overall gym however can’t give it 5 stars as the sauna is out of order fairly often and the showers are terrible. Water pressure is slim to none and the water is constantly skipping and changing temperature when the washrooms are used. Hope they can fix this..

Negative experience: Went in ready to sign up but decided against during the grueling signup process. After over an hour of intrusive questioning, I was then given unsolicited medical advice from the teenager assigned to complete my membership enrollment. When I asked if they were a personal trainer, nutritionist, or a doctor, the answer was "no" each time. I was so repulsed by this business model that I decided to go with a city of ottawa facility. In where the sign up process took 15 minutes and membership was a fraction of the cost. This likely isn't a location issue but a company issue in general. Save yourself a great deal of time, frustration, and money and explore less exploitive options.

Fantastic experience: I joined recently good life fitness, and my favorite class is the zumba class with Zahra, her classes is full of positive energy and fun. I can notice my progress with learning new moves, I can feel the positive impact on my mood. her class includes 2 oriental/belly dance songs which is my favorite..

Negative experience: Customer Service is not their priority! They will be very helpfull and make you feel like you matter, until you signed your contract. Afterward, good luck on receiving proper customer service. Don't bother asking a simple question, they will give you a look like you are annoying and make you feel bad that you are even asking! Also, cleanliness at this gym is horrible!

Negative experience: One of the managers is really unprofessional. I always hear her complaining about the front desk people and I even heard her say she’s trying to get a bunch of them fired. I asked who she was and I was surpised to hear she’s a manager. The gym itself is fine but the vibe just seems a little tense

Positive experience: Love my class on Monday morning and evening. Soul body bar. I must say cleanliness is not the best. Very dusty and dirty especially in the workout area . Thank you for your response and taking action in making sure that the cleanliness has improved .

Negative experience: I've never seen a gym do such a poor job with cleaning, every machine is coated in dust, all it takes is a wipe down once a week. For the price you pay here, I would expect much more. Also, I have never seen a gym have so many people completely ignore wiping machines. This place genuinely grosses me out some days.

Fantastic experience: This is a massive facility! It is packed but because there's so much space and equipment, chances are you can do your workout. Even if you have to wait, it wouldn't be that long. Staff is pretty cool and the GM is great. I'm glad to see my experience was the same as some of the other 5 star reviews. I don't know if this petition is official but yes, get this facility a Hot Yoga room! I would legit sell my house and live here full time.

Fantastic experience: I would really like to thank Josee Saumure, the personal trainer in this location for helping my son and myself to get started in the gym. She was so helpful, patient and listened carefully to our needs and helped us to plan on achieving our goals. Positive experience: Love how big and spacious the location is. Definitely one of my favorite location but it is getting a lot busier now. Been coming here for 2 years, driving from downtown. Only thing I would say is that treadmills are always broken or have something wrong with them

Positive experience: Pretty big gym. Some of the cardio equipment is older and many times a few of them are broken. You would expect for the fees you pay they can replace them.

Negative experience: What in the world was the though behind closing one of two locations in orleans. It now does not matter at what time you attend the gym…. It’s always full. Expect to wait 15-20 mins per machine. Especially if you plan on coming in the evening from 4-10 pm. Obviously no discount on the fees since the other location closed either. Do yourself a favour and sign up elsewhere.

Negative experience: Hello Goodlife, I would like to advise you regarding the showers in the men's change room at 10th line Goodlife, Orleans. The showers are beyond filthy with mildew, mold, dust & have a very wicked odor inside the shower stalls. This is unsanitary and unhealthy for us Goodlife paying members. The showers should be renovated... I've heard from numerous members that they received athlete's foot due to the showers being unsanitary & not safe to use. As a member who showers all the time after an intense workout. The gym itself has been renovated, so it makes no sense why the showers were not dealt with. Thank you!
Fantastic experience: “My gym”. Tons of daylight which I like. Several bench presses and free weights up to 100ibs. The renovation has made this one of the best Goodlife’s ive ever been too. Tons of squat racks. Lots of cardio machines as well. It’s kept in a good state of repair and the vast majority of members have good gym etiquette.
Negative experience: Simply too busy. This gym doesn't offer anything special considering the premium price. Some of the equipment is taped up and it looks unprofessional. Very underwhelming and overcrowded.

Negative experience: Visited Tenth Line location today. Front desk lovely greeting. We were assigned Travis for a tour and membership information. Found Travis arrogant, obviously agism at play. We are 2 women in our sixties and were waiting his time. I beleive one review stated a fine gym if you are male and 20 to 40. Otherwise forget it. Also noted his name came up as a negative in other reviews. Anyhow glad we went, have no plans to return. We will take our business elsewhere. Beware.

Fantastic experience: Great facility. Everything you could want or need in a gym. Very clean. The desk staff and the trainers/instructors are super friendly and knowledgeable. The addition of Regymen has really made this place the only facility you would ever need for your fitness journey. Love love love it!

Positive experience: It can get stupid busy in the evenings since it's the only location in Orleans (despite having over 100,000 residents). Like 0 squat racks, 0 benches, 0 machines, it's bad. Overall though, if you can come any other time of day, it's a solid gym with a good equipment. Seems like GL is staying away from pools these days as there are no pool or hot tub facilities. Pretty clean and even the meatheads aren't too bad

Negative experience: I've been working out there for a while and since September 2022, this gym is getting too full. It is getting too packed and we can't longer workout after 5 or and it's no longer peaceful. This is horrible... I which they can limit access to the gym with a reservation/booking system like during COVID. Now everyone get in and out, which is insane... Today, February 8, 2023, no changes. I was not able to workout, so I ended up cycling. 0 benches available, 0 squat machines available, 0 barbells available and the gym has more than 10 barbells stand and more around 5 squats machine... All the machines were busy! For more than an hour I couldn't get a barbell station. I'm not lying, it's a fact.

Fantastic experience: I personally look forward to going to the gym. As soon as you walk into the place the staff at the front desk make you feel welcomed, always smiling, very friendly. The place is clean, plenty of equipment to choose from. The real bonus is the classes they offer. I personally like the Regymn classes offered. The coaches are awesome, always willing to help and push you to achieve your goals. The atmosphere is great, the gym is clean and the best part is meeting new people who are all there for the same reasons. Having fun, getting in shape, finishing the classes with a smile and looking forward to the next class. Highly recommended, nothing like it.

Fantastic experience: The GM guy is super chill. He was in his office with his staff and i walked in like I owned the place asking where the digital scale was. He was happy to answer and helped me out. Great facility. 100 star review! I agree with the Tai Chi guy, get this facility a Hot Yoga room.

Fantastic experience: I'd give this place 6 stars if I could. Along with St Laurent, best facility in Ottawa. GM here is very personable- no nonsense straightshooter which is very refreshing in this day and age. If HQ can fund this place for a hot yoga room, I'd give it 100 stars.

Positive experience: I really like this gym. It's spacious, and it's neat that they have more squat racks now. It would be nice if the staff's other than the older lady would give you a hi or even a smile. I also trian at the St. Laurent location as well, where the staff's hospitality is absolutely amazing. When I used to live in the west end, I used to go to the Queensview location, and they provided great service for their clients.

Positive experience: I like this place, the staff people are nice, and apart from the occasional "reservers" (who use their water bottle or phone or whatever to 'save' a machine while they're off on another one or talking or whatever), the members seem pretty good. But the last reviewer is totally right about the TVs! It's like the managers don't have a clue that people watch the TVs!! And they stick us with almost no options at all. With that many TVs they should have at least 4-5 options that are good. Maybe something like sports, Comedy, news (Ottawa or Canadian national, not Vancouver!!), food channels (they often have those ones so yay!), HGTV. And I agree, NO MORE PAID AD shows!! Dr. Ho can stuff it!!! lol

Negative experience: There are some nice staff members here. But I always feel you can tell how good a gym is by the attention they give to the customer experience. This gym fails on that ground. The most glaring example is their TVs, which one would assume are there to be watched and listened to. They have about 15 or so, plus two huge screens. 3 or 4 of them are assigned to ads/messages from Goodlife and sponsors, with music videos. Fair enough. But the rest offer a choice that is amazingly disappointing. Usually 6-7 have the same two channels on, often (bizarrely) some random Vancouver CTV channel, and often a "Dr. Ho" infomercial channel INOBODY wants those!), and one of them (TV#7) has no audio (and hasn't for years, despite management knowing about it!). Quite often, the two massive screens have nothing on at all, and on the weekend, it is the norm that the staff don't even notice that the smaller TVs have not even been turned on. My husband and I like to watch TV while we hit the bikes or treadmills, but this is soooo frustrating. And we're made to feel like troublemakers if we ask for a channel to be switched (which we rarely do as a result). These are easy fixes, but the fact that nothing ever changes, despite customer feedback (others we know have expressed the same frustrations to the desk staff), indicates that the customer experience doesn't matter much here. Update: While I appreciate the quick response, it misses the point. We have already talked to the staff, multiple times, as have other people we know. The TVs are still an area they just don't care to do well. And I went this afternoon to follow up: of the 16 TVs, there were exactly TWO options for clients to watch and hear. Two. (And four were on Dr. Ho....). Don't you think that management shouldn't need to have clients come to them, to know that they just don't vary the options available for the clients? Proactive management would have managers looking for problem areas and dealing with them; reactive (poor) management is where you sit back and wait for people to bring the issue to you. Managers and staff should know what's going on in their club.

Negative experience: I almost never write google reviews but I will never forget this experience. I came to this Goodlife fitness to check out the prices and what the tenthline location had to offer the other day. The staff directed me to have a seat and wait for another staff to show me the prices, programs and what the gym had to offer. After taking a quick tour of the gym, I looked at the prices and decided I wanted to check out other gyms. I ended up talking to a staff named Travis about how I don't think I can afford to pay for the membership as I am a student working minimum wage with several priorities (ex. Food, gas, housing). I was not asking for a better deal, I was simply stating that I would prefer to think about which membership fit my needs. Travis began to gaslight and guilt trip me into getting a membership and other programs offered by telling me I don't consider my health a priority. He also kept saying "so you can't afford your health?". I am sorry that not everyone has the luxury and privilege to afford $80+ dollars a month when they have several other bills to pay. I know trying to manipulate your customers is probably part of your job as a sales person but I believe customer service is more important. Needless to say, I will never get a membership at Goodlife after that terrible experience.

Negative experience: Staff is very friendly and courteous. Machines are not the newest compared to other locations but in good shape. Cleanliness unfortunately seems to be a big challenge in the men’s showers and washrooms. I have been going for 3 weeks now and they’ve never been cleaned. There’s mold growing behind the body wash dispensers. Management needs to step up.

Positive experience: It's a huge gym and equipment is good. The only thing they need to work on is the staff. The older lady at the front desk is the only one who understands customer service. The others either don't care about you or walk around and starre at you like creeps (especially the tall trainer). I much prefer the Saint Laurent GoodLife.

Fantastic experience: This review is in regards to one of the members that goes to this gym. The staff are really great and I always see them doing their part in ensuring the club stays a safe and clean environment during these difficult times. That being said, there is a member that regularly attends this gym (I believe his name is Karl) that is always causing a scene and staring at people and making them feel uncomfortable. He is very rude and tries to tell other members what to do, and then complains to the staff after the fact. Once I was on the workout floor hearing him speaking to one of the associates (I believe he was a manager) telling him a false story about how he tried to politely tell someone to wipe down their machine. That story he told this staff member was complete false, as I was on the floor when I saw it happen. He was very rude towards the other member and did not ask politely at all, and then ended up getting upset when this member got annoyed at him. Obviously he was going to get annoyed when Karl was being so rude!! Overall, very satisfied with the gym & the staff, just wanted to bring attention towards this individual member who makes the whole gym going experience very unpleasant

Fantastic experience: Awesome
Negative experience: Poor front desk service, couple of the younger girls make comments about people and people things, and are very judgmental. How can this be ok in a gym.

Positive experience: My home gym but definitely not my favourrite location. Too often staff hanging out at the front desk chit chatting. During Covid when the gym is open it would be good for staff to walk the floors to monitor that patrons are abiding by the rules.
Negative experience: If you are a 20-30 year old male, this gym is for you. Otherwise, don't bother. It's a big facility but the layout is awful. They clearly cater to one demographic, and everyone else feels uncomfortable. The staff don't circulate to help with the environment either. The gym is also very over crowded and this makes the layout even worse. Don't bother going here unless you do chest 4 times a week and skip leg day. Just head over to Place Orleans, it's way better.

Fantastic experience: I've been a member there for a few years now and have seen a fair amount of staff come and go. The one constant is Kelsey. Between her promoting the gym during her off hours or taking extra time at the end of her shift to remedy any issues that may come up, it's evident that her top priority is the ensuring the members are always taken care of
Fantastic experience: You gotta bottle Conor's enthusiasm and sell that, because that dude is infectious! He's the heart of the whole gym!

Negative experience: Worst customer service. My husband went in to talk about joining. The staff was less than interested, rude and demeaning. Won’t be joining this one
Negative experience: Bad customer service went in 3 times today to be told it's full you can't get it. It started after they canceled the appointment app. Why will l pay for something l can't use. Canceled my membership with them baf customer service
Negative experience: GoodLife fitness Orleans at Tenthline: Very bad, pushy and judgemental staff and higher prices as compared to fit4less and anytime fitness. I found anytime fitness small almost same price as GoodLife fitness but very professional staff and better equipment.
Negative experience: I’ve been a member of GoodLife fitness since 2010. I frequently attend the GoodLife on queensview, however I recently started attending the tenth line club. On Jan 5, 2020, I went into the tenthline club and to my surprise was told my membership was cancelled and I have a balance. I just went to the Tenth line club two days ago, no issues! Anyways, I paid the balance. Now, In order to reinstate my membership I have to pay an enrollment fee of $49.00 and the price of the membership has gone up from what I was originally paying. I already paid an enrolment fee of $100.00 in 2010 when I first got my membership. I’m not a new member! Theirs no way I’m paying a new enrolment fee, in addition to a new higher membership price.

Negative experience: Had a horrible experience here with the staff. I do not recommend going here. The “free trial for 14 days” is false advertising. I was forced to pay $150 as soon as I registered for the “free trial”. They’ve opened themselves up to some major legal issues with this “free trial”. Update: GoodLife says they didn’t advertise this as a “free trial” which is false. I received a phone call from a GoodLife representative who stated that I can come in to the Tenth Line location to claim a 2 week free trial with no credit card on file or purchase. When I arrived it was a totally different story. I just learned that there was a class action lawsuit against GoodLife fitness in 2016 for underpaying employees and not paying them for all hours worked. It was settled last year for $7.5 million. There’s a lot of shady business practices going on with this big conglomerate. I would highly recommend not dealing with this company.

Negative experience: I’ve had a good life membership before and wanted to check Out this location due to its accessibility and literally JUST wanted to look around and within 10 minutes I was being hounded into signing up. When I said I would think about it, the man who shall remain nameless became agressive and when I asked why he said if I leave I won’t sign up. You’re right because you made me feel super uncomfortable and gave me no time to think about it on my own terms. You also didn’t let me get a chance to fully view the gym before making me sign up. Not a welcoming experience at all. I’ll stick to my current gym.

Negative experience: Great location, big gym with high roof, spinning room with great live Body pump instructors, great equipment and amazing change rooms. The only downfall is that a trainer wanted to kick me out because i was helping my girlfriend train. The trainers there get jealous quickly if they see other people get trained. I told him i wasnt paid for training my gf and let me stay but i complained to the manager.
Fantastic experience: I feel welcome here, they have a great staff, great equipment, and great personal trainers. There is one trainer in particular who gives his all, and I love my sessions with him. Jordan Thoms.
