Negative experience: I had a disappointing experience here. The manager was very pushy and came off quite snappy when I had some basic questions about the membership. It made me feel uncomfortable and rushed. The gym itself is also quite small and not very well maintained. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend it.

Negative experience: Gym randomly increased the price on users by about 20% Also has a weird smell going on lately, not what it used to be

Fantastic experience: I’ve switched to this location from another, and have had such an excellent experience making the switch. The staff are all excellent and friendly. Marcus greets everyone, every time, usually by name. The facility is very clean, well maintained, and lots of equipment to choose from. It shows that the staff there care about the place, and want to keep it that way. Zaq is my PT, and has such a positive attitude, encouraging, knowledgeable and is quick to adapt workouts when certain equipment is in use. The only thing I would add, it would be nice if they had the room to add a few more showers/change rooms, most times there isn’t long of a wait. The towel service is very much appreciated. There was a time when the water fountain wasn’t operational, but they had plenty of bottled water available until they could have the fountain repaired. Thank you for going above and beyond for your clients.

Fantastic experience: This is by far my favourite gym of any I’ve been to. The facility has everything you’d want, is always clean and well stocked, and most importantly, everyone who works there goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. Even on the days I really don’t want to work out, being greeted by name and with such a warm attitude from all of the staff is enough for a little extra motivation! I’d recommend this location to anyone who asks.

Fantastic experience: I love this gym as it is clean, cozy and staffs are very friendly. Marcus the manager always greets me by my name, and Marco the personal trainer is very professional, engaging, and encouraging. Marco exactly customized for my personal needs and I could feel the change immediately in my body. I always feel safe, warm and greeted.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been to many different AF gyms, but Allendale is definitely one of my favourites. The staff are always working to maintain a clean and comfortable environment which goes a long way. There is ample room in the facility as well. Lastly, Marcus greets everyone by name, which really makes everyone feel recognized and included. Overall, it’s a great gym!

He listened to me calmly until the end because I was not good at English and explained it kindly to me. The gym facilities are very clean. Seeing that the gym is well maintained, the staff who works here is really professional. If anyone wants to come here, I'd love to welcome them.

Fantastic experience: This is a well equipped gym and rarely feels too crowded. It’s always clean and friendly. I’ve been having personal training sessions with Marco for several months and he’s helped me achieve results in strength and fitness that have eluded me for decades (I now look and feel better in middle age than I did in my thirties). He’s professional and knowledgeable and makes sure everything is tailored to my goals and abilities…I always feel safe and I love not having to overthink my workouts (I just show up and do what he tells me to and then admire my muscles later)…best investment I’ve made in myself in a long time!

Fantastic experience: The space is always clean and everyone is respectful of that. It’s easy to find quiet hours but when it’s busy everyone is super friendly and it’s not uncomfortable. I’ve tried other AF locations in the city and this is my favourite still.

Negative experience: Hidden fee alert. Virtue signalling green company . So paid these guys for a year then went to return the key fob for deposit back. I guess it’s actually a hidden fee. Company states key fobs are not refundable. They would rather have everyone who is done with their membership throw out the key fob so They can make an extra 25 dollars. Don’t support this sketchy business

Negative experience: I had the worse experience with the management of Anytime Fitness specially at the time when I was moving out from that location and wanted to discontinue the services. I wrote several emails to them but they never provided me the receipts of the services that I availed from them. My husband and mine membership types were similar but no one explained me the wide difference in the deductions that were made from our respective credit cards. I felt very disappointed and helpless.

Fantastic experience: Quiet and comfortable community gym that caters to those who want a gym experience without the negative stigma associated with some of the bigger gyms. They have just what you need to work out and offer some amenities of the larger gyms at half the cost. Great place to go seeing as it's usually not packed!

Fantastic experience: I have been a member with Anytime Fitness for a number of years and over that time have gone to various locations. Out of all the locations I’ve been to, the manager at this one, Marcus, has been the nicest and most helpful. He always made sure to treat us whenever we came in, regardless of what he was doing, and always by name and would often chat with us to see how we were doing. We specifically drove to this location even though there were others closer to our place because we liked the layout of this one better and Marcus always made us feel welcomed.

Fantastic experience: The staff at Allendale are incredibly kind and friendly. Marcus, the manager, takes the time to know your name, and will always say hi when you arrive. The gym and washrooms are always clean and tidy. This is my favorite location and I encourage anyone who is looking to sign up for a membership or is looking for a different gym to consider Allendale.

Fantastic experience: Great gym! They have recently gotten a new gym manager and my experience at the gym has improved immensely. Marcus and the staff do an incredible job maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the space.

Negative experience: From the start and quick end... No pricing on their web sight that I saw and no answer on the phone so.... Yah.....

Positive experience: small but never gets suuuper crowded only 2 squat racks and no platforms tho and theyre usually taken up during peak hours like 4-5pm

Negative experience: This location was great at one time but has gone down hill....Rude staff. Hide in front office. Very UNAPPROACHBLE!. Dirty washrooms. Garbages always full. Equipment in need of repair. I mean honestly the list goes on! Sure hope the owner reads this.

Negative experience: Any positive remarks I had towards this place went out the door, after I learned they sent my brothers account to collections. They had already been less then helpful when we were cancelling our memberships. As we were given the wrong email to cancel by one of their staff -yet it was still the Allendale email address- thus one would have thought they would at least respond to let us know we needed to send to a different email. A fact we found out after I realized they were still charging us a couple months later. I called, leaving messages on the phone but got no response. I emailed trying to find out why we were still being charged. But no one answered back. Eventually I did end up finding out where the cancelation emails were supposed to go to, so I emailed and explained the situation for myself and my brother. I was told it would be fixed and the memberships cancelled. Mine was. My brothers was not. But we didn't know that at the time. Then he got sent to collections. Even though we have an email showing conversation, where an associate requested he be removed off collections as it was a mistake by an employee. When I emailed trying to find out why he was sent to collections, they would not help me. Instead kept telling me to call collections to get it fixed. Even though I told them that my brother had tried to explain this to collections and even showed the emails, where they had requested he be removed. We had already spent too much time dealing with the cancelation of our memberships, which should have been an easy fix, with even a little customer service....so they get 1 star. But really it should be a 0 star review.

Negative experience: The gym itself is alright. The manager however was extremely unprofessional. Started by asking a simple question and before I could finish she had interrupted me with 2 questions. Which had she let me finish she would have realized were unrelated. Maybe it was just a bad day for her but. Really bad customer service.

Positive experience: I like this gym it’s got a good layout, though there’s some pieces of equipment that other gyms have that they don’t have.. if you’re not deterred by this then you can make it work. It’s all very clean in there and I’ve found the staff to be helpful. One downside I’m noticing is that there only needs to be about 8-10 people in there before it’s way too crowded to have an effective workout. Even if you go at 10pm on a Friday thinking it might be less busy it isn’t and once there’s even a few people in the free weight section it’s basically too crowded. I’m not sure how this could be fixed because I understand as a business wanting to sign up as many members as you can but it feels like there’s too many for the size of the gym. But that’s just me and my own personal preferences!

Fantastic experience: This place is always clean considering how many people come and go here! Love the helpful and supportive staff. They always seem to be finding ways to maintain/update their equipment on a regular basis too which is very admirable. As a current member of AFA, this was a great first choice for me!

Negative experience: Not a great experience. The gym itself was alright, nothing to write home about. After they unfroze the payments after the lockdown I was billed the entire contract amount in 3 days. $60 the first day, $70 the second and $80 the third. Couldn't get a hold of anyone at the gym and they don't have regular staffed hours. Sent a notice of cancellation and they still took money out of my account outside of the days they said they would and it was for more money then I agreed on. Had to get my bank to do a stop payment and now there's a mark on my credit report. Wouldn't recommend this gym at all

Positive experience: My favorite anytime fitness location in edmonton city because its by far the least crowded location. Considering anytime fitness are small sized gyms, it can be a real struggle if the gym is crowded. Worked out here for over a year. The new management is absolutely wonderful to deal with. Super super friendly. Bathrooms are clean and so is the equipment. Has all the basics stuff you need.

Negative experience: The management of this club will not answer your calls. You can leave voice-mails and they will not answer. Once they have your money, they will not help you with issues. Save yourself the hassle and go with Goodlife. UPDATE- The owner of this club has since contacted me and offered to refund the money that they shouldn't have charged me in the first place, the catch was that he would only refund me if I left a misleading 5 star review. Which I considered, but was not comfortable doing. I proposed that I try the club on a trial basis and if I had a positive experience then I would leave a positive review- I have not heard back. On top of this. My friend who also uses this gym had an issue that the management would only remedy after he gave a 5 star review. BUYER BEWARE they buy positive reviews at this gym.

Negative experience: Very negative experience with anytime fitness. In March I had attempted to freeze my gym membership multiple times and had no response to my messages and phone calls. Fast forward to October and I found out my account had been suspended and the remaining 7 months of my contract was sent to a collection agency before I even knew my account was suspended. Long story short after many calls with the collection agency and the owner, the owner said he would take care of it. The owner didn't do anything and my credit score was negatively affected. Very unreliable management, doesn’t hold his word and screens calls so he doesn’t have to talk to you. Wouldn’t recommend the gym as they have bad policies and they don’t care about their customers they are just out to get your money.

Negative experience: Avoid this gym!! I once loved this gym but the management/owner is not responsive and has not refunded me owed money (seems to be a common problem based on recent reviews). I was charged hundreds of dollars with no notification. After spending weeks determining the cause of this, the owner admitted this was a mistake and partially refunded me my money and said he would send the remaining balance several times. I have yet to receive the money..it has been months. - Updated January 2021

Fantastic experience: I really enjoyed this gym. Clean facilities with a great variety of equipment. The washroom/bathrooms were always clean and towels were always stocked. I’m moving out of the region and my new neighbourhood doesn’t have an Anytime Fitness Gym otherwise I would have continued my membership but it does not. Overall for anyone in the region I would highly recommend.
