Positive experience: I've been to this gym twice and liked it enough to go back. It is organized and clean with newer equipment. I always felt comfortable there because staff and members seem nice. A couple of reasons I was disappointed: 1) The machines are clearly designed for tall people with longer limbs. This makes some of them a little challenging to use because of my stature. I didn't try the section for women only; perhaps the machines there are more size inclusive. 2) A tone sounds whenever someone enters the gym that makes me feel like I'm at the airport. I would have to turn my headphones up to an unsafe level to "drown it out".

Fantastic experience: I've been a Senior's member of Motion Fitness for many years now. Although the Lawson Heights location is the farthest one from our house, I find it is my "comfort zone". It is very well run. Staff and clients are treated with respect, patience and understanding. Equipment is kept up to date and repaired in a timely manner. Staff welcome you in a courteous manner and are very knowledgeable. They people that clean the gym on a regular basis are hard workers. This gym has become "a well oiled machine". Keep up the good work!

Negative experience: Motion Fitness @ Lawson Heights My son, 13 years old, was a member for just over a year, Oct 2024 - Nov 2025. He had gone to it 2 or 3 times per week for the first a few months, and only went to it once or twice per month, for the last a few months. - The good: close to the mall, plenty of parking. - The pay-attention: the hours are not as long as a few other locations; to cancel membership, a month of notification in advance is required (I informed the front desk to cancel my son's membership first week of Nov, still got three additional bi-weekly charges afterwards, by bank EFT withdraws). - The watch-out: membership fee! Again, I informed the front desk to cancel the membership in the 1st week of Nov, still got charged the annual membership fee in the 1st week of Dec, on top of the biweekly payments they charged. I asked the gentleman at the front desk, and was told that it's a "decision by management, nothing I can do about it”. ~~~Follow-up~~~ Here are the facts, of the timing of the events: - I left my review on Dec 9, 2025, evening time. - The next day, on Dec 10, at 6:50pm, I got a call from Motion Fitness at Lawson, about my review. - The day after, on Dec 11, Motion Fitness at Lawson provided feedback for my review. The call from Motion Fitness was from the same front desk gentleman who I talked with in person, of cancelling my son's membership and my inquiries afterwards. On the phone, the gentleman from Motion Fitness said if my son decides to join the gym again in the future, they would consider to waive his first payment installment; and the gentleman asked me if I can remove my review. In the feedback for my review, it stated "We've reviewed our records but are unable to locate your account with the information provided." I find that unfathomable. If they can not find the record and not able to locate the associated account, then I don't know how they found my phone number to call me, about a 'random' google review, one day after my review. Either there is some communication gap between the front desk gentleman calling me and the person who gave the feedback to my review, or there is something else going on. The front desk gentleman apparently had done his homework, based on my in-person conversation with him and the review content, found my son's account, and even got my phone number, calling me.

Fantastic experience: Update: Charmaine was awesome and went above and beyond to bring me back! I am so grateful. Great facility and an amazing manager! I have loved going to this gym for the past year but it has ended on a bad note. On the member day, Sept 15th, I went in with my daughter who just moved here. I knew my prepaid membership was expiring soon and my daughter wanted to join. I had the desk clerk check my end date and we asked if there were any promotions for prepaid memberships or bringing a friend to join and were told the only deal was no sign up fees. We both wanted to prepay, it was so busy and it didnt feel like they wanted to help us, so we decided to wait. But now I read that there was a deal for prepaid members and we both missed out. I am feeling very frustrated. My membership ended today. They didn't seem to care about our memberships so now we are looking at other options.

Fantastic experience: Great gym!! I love coming here. They have great options for free weights, including deadlift platforms and squat racks. The childcare here is also excellent. I’m so grateful for all the childcare staff who looked after my little one, allowing me to get some breaks during the day. Thanks for creating this great space!

Great gym, especially considering it’s a mall gym. I only wish the temp on the main gym floor was turned down. 22 is too hot!

Fantastic experience: I love coming to this gym! They have a sweet women’s only section and they have started playing women’s sports on the tv! It’s clean and organized. The staff are friendly and helpful. The flex pass is great for a lot of my friends as well! I love the classes and the variety as well!! All around great gym!

Fantastic experience: I do love to join Motion Fitness (since Dec 2024) at Lawson Heights with my reasons are: 1.Close with my house (500 metre only!). 2.Best Price (Corporate rate & Senior rate). 3.Place is clean. Consistency in cleaning of environment & equipments. 4.Staffs are friendly, patient, warmly, quick response, & respectfully. 5.My son got an incident in Apr 2025 at Motion Fitness. I told my problem to manager Charmaine. She did quick response & pay attention. She did know how to make a customer happy as a reward. Thank you, Charmaine! Also, eventhough you are a manager, I saw you help your staff (pulling & pushing of heavy equipments) while your staff was vacuuming floor under heavy equipments. You are a Fantastic (inside & outside) & you’ve an humble personality, Charmaine! I am so proud of you! 6.If I couldnt find the equipment I looked for, I asked a staff to help me. The staffs really helped me to find & give it to me. They know how to make customers happy & provide Best Service. Thank you so much, Motion Staffs!! You are the BEST!!. 7.I highly recommend to try & join MOTION Fitness!

Fantastic experience: I have a concern regarding camera use in the common area of the women' s change room. Camera use such as selfies, & face time well other women are in a state of undress. I would appreciate you looking into this. Otherwise I have been very happy with the staff and the facilities. I have been a member for 2 years .

Positive experience: Good gym but every time I go around 5pm its a 80% chance there are no towels to wipe down machines! buy more towels or have your staff use the washing machine before running out completely
