Fantastic experience: I have been doing the fitness equipment maintenance for a few years now and I haven't seen such a super clean fitness facility with amazing friendly staff and trainers that greet with you a smile and encourage you to keep up the great work in training . It is a fantastic local gym with a family ownership that cares about its membership.
Fantastic experience: I've been a member there for 6 years. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. ICON is very clean, and all the equipment is well maintained. every time you walk in, the staff is there friendly and always greets you by name with a smile. You couldn't ask for a better gym than this. That comment posted about getting charged 169$.. It's not a free fall . There's signs put up about not bringing unauthorized people in, and they have it set up very convenient for guess passes. They can be TRUSTED, and ICON is a safe gym for all members.

Negative experience: EDIT: THIS IN FACT WAS A LIE, I HAVE RECEIVED NO EMAILS OR CALLS OTHER THAN STATEMENTS FOR BILLS EVEN THOUGH I HAVE REACHED OUT VIA EMAIL AND VIA PHONE MORE THEN ONCE...I HAVE NEVER RETURNED MADE IS VERY CLEAR I DO NOT WANT TO BE CHARGED ANYMORE YET THIS I AM STILL BEING CHARGED MONTHLY. THE LACK OF RESPECT TO NOT REACH BACK OUT AFTER CLAIMING YOU WOULD BUT THEN RESPONDING TO MY REVIEW INSTEAD OF ACTUALLY REACHING OUT TO ME. THE SHEER AUDACITY. IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS I WOULD. I HAD NO ISSUE PAYING 50 FOR BEING A MORON AND NOT NOTICING THESE SIGNS BUT YOU CHARGED ME NEARLY 500$ OVER A 2 MONTH PERIOD AND I ONLY WENT TO THE GYM TWICE, ONCE WITH A GUEST. PATHETIC Can they be trusted? I was NEVER told i could not bring a guest, nor shown this in any writing. I was called and treated very poorly about it mind you, and then was "fined" 169 dollars today. I was called and told this was a policy i had broken and fully understood (which again mind you, I never should have agreed to in the first place but did not want to argue as i don't really care for the 50 dollars is whatever its nothing to me). I was told i would be charged 50 dollars and AGREED to this as this as i think it happened over the weekend as I could not be called or warned Saturday i assume?? I was charged 150 PLUS TAX anyways. miscommunication ..or was I lied to? Someone thought it would be worth losing 1062 dollars a year in business I guess because unless they rectify this to the originally agreed upon fair price, I will not be returning. Anyways HONEST opinion...the actual gym is just alright. nothing special and if you need to use the cables, good luck. The calf raise machines pads are so worn down I have had cuts in both my shoulders all week. Its clean, but no cleaner than a private gym should be or usually is. If you lift heavy its not the gym for you. I didn't do any deadlifts but I cant imagine dropping 500 pounds on that floor because it looks weak and with the "no chalk" rule, theres no way I am not dropping the bar on the way down to save my back. Its sup par at best, but is the only 24 hour gym you will find In the area which is a big deal so 6.5/10

We prioritize keeping our members safe and maintaining a secure environment, so any violation of our policies results in a fine being charged to your account (let this be a warning to all!). For the benefit of our readers allow us to break down the Entry Enforcement Fees: 50$ First Violation 100$ Each Additional Violation We're really sorry if we dropped the ball on making the rules and policies clearer. Miscommunication? Sure. A lie? Not our style at all. There’s a large poster on our front door, and it’s definitely outlined in the agreement you signed (we’ve emailed you a copy with your initials and signature for your reference). Plus, there are signs and instructions at the gym explaining how to sign in a guest and pay the $15 fee. Now, onto the gym itself. We hear you—cable machines can be a hot commodity, and those calf raise pads? Sounds like they need a little TLC. Thanks for bringing that to our attention; we’ll get it sorted ASAP so no one else walks around with shoulder cuts. And while the “no chalk” rule keeps things clean, we understand it’s not always the favourite for those lifting heavy. You’re right—we’re the only 24-hour gym in the area, and while we may not be the perfect fit for everyone, we’re always working to enhance the atmosphere and experience at Icon.
Fantastic experience: I have been going to gyms for a very long time and have never been to a cleaner gym. Equipment is maintained and working, can eat off the floor and the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming like you are family. I highly recommend. The gym is also open 24/7 which is very convenient if you are a shift worker. This gym has everything you need and has a very cool unique atmosphere. 100/10 in my books.

Negative experience: 100 days of Sleep Country is 100% fake,and this company just steel your money and deliver garbage product to customers. The sellers and customer services are really poor for customer respect, and they know nothing for.

Fantastic experience: It's the only gym in town as far as I know but its very good. Open 24/7 and never that busy you need to wait for something for very long. Bathrooms are always clean and they have tanning available as well. Wish they had some larger dumbbells though as they only go up to 100Lbs currently.

Negative experience: Was a members for over 3 months decided to go back one day with a friend so I paid the day fee. Left it at the counter as nobody was there and they said I snuck in. Charged my friend 50 dollars.
Thank you for being a member for over 3 months. When you became a member you signed the waiver and agreement which clearly states that you will be charged 50$ for unauthorized guests outside of our business hours. We put forth our policies in order to ensure the safety and security of all of our members.

Positive experience: I've been coming to this gym for a few months now and can confidently say I love it! It’s small but has everything you need. I’ve never had to wait for equipment, and all the other members are very courteous. I wish the stretching area were a bit larger, but overall I’m pleased to be a member.

Fantastic experience: I came from a massive club and was so jaded about joining a new gym when I moved to Smithville. Icon was by far the best gym I’ve ever been to. Everybody is so friendly and I was never bothered by anything or anyone. It is so clean and everything is spaced out so perfectly. The walls of this gym saw me change more than anyone in my life. I’m honestly just reminiscing of all the dark days I had. It would be 2am and I would just go to the gym and give it my all. Proud to say I survived those days. Here to say, it gets better. It really does. Choose fitness because fitness chooses you. Keep going and keep your head up!!!

Fantastic experience: Been coming here for years now!! Icon is a great little gym and Sylvia is absolutely amazing!!! Her cleaning standards and attention to detail are impeccable!! For me she makes it feel like a relaxing home away from home. The only downfall recently has been lack of staffed hours. If someone wants to tan or sign up it makes it more difficult. So from a custom er point of view this would hurt sales on memberships as it is the only place in our small town that offers tanning right now. Also the lack of staffed hours results in cleaning and towels being less readily available. But on a whole I love our little gym and it offers everything that I need. Staffed hours have improved significantly!! Which is a great thing!!! But I see a review complaining about not trusting ....... do not believe this!!! The owners and manager of thos gym are amazing!! Not rude in the slightest!!!! It shows right on the door and also explained when you sign up that if you bring someone in you will be charged $50 ..... there must be a way to enforce this, otherwise you could bring whoever you want in♀️ This Is a great gym with great staff for a small town atmosphere!!! You want a big gym to deadliest 500 lbs, then go somewhere else!!!!! Simple x

Negative experience: After moving from Richmond Hill I explored gyms quite a bit. I chose Icon fitness despite its high registration fee (something like $50 + the first month). Due to COVID I signed up for a monthly membership, just in case. I found their communication unclear regarding COVID and vaccine protocol - I assumed my membership was canceled when I did not submit the required (as per the email they sent communicating the change in policy, which once they clarified today and I reread is vague and very unclear).When I noticed on my bank statement that I was still being charged for a gym I had not attended for 2 months due to policy, I went for clarification and was refused. Due to poor communication and the way they handled the situation, I am unimpressed and would not recommend this gym.

As things in the COVID realm are constantly changing, we work hard to keep all of our members up to date via email, Facebook, Instagram, and Google.The email you received on Thursday September 2 (20 days before the vaccine verification went into effect) outlined the following: “Proof of full vaccination status will be required in order to attend our facility effective September 22, 2021. Our facility will comply with human rights obligations and accommodate individuals who are not vaccinated by offering a free cancellation of membership (must be done in person at the facility; responses to this email will not be monitored).”You received the email and unfortunately, chose not to call or come in to cancel your membership, therefore it would stay active. We have hundreds of members, and we cannot know who is vaccinated and who is not vaccinated and process the cancellation for them. I’m so sorry you were also declined a refund— once again we cannot personally invite members to use the facility or reach out to them to see if they are vaccinated. It was your responsibility to cancel your membership; I’m not sure there are any facilities or subscriptions services that automatically process a cancellation on your behalf.If this is still unclear, please give us a call: 905-957-4266, email: [email protected], or come in to speak with the owner or manager.Thank you for your time, stay safe and healthy!
Negative experience: It’s an okay small gym in a small town with friendly staff, but it’s not worth what you pay per month. With COVID, you would think there would be staff available on weekends for cleaning during busy weekend hours. Instead it seems they chose to cut costs by not having staff on-site on weekends. They do not have anyone working to accept payments or sign up for the gym. Should you spontaneously wish to take a friend on a weekend to the gym with you, there is no one available to take your vaccination proof, waiver or payment.Instead, they ask you to book an appointment to have a staff member show up for you on a Saturday or Sunday or tell you to bring your friend in on a weekday so that they can get the day pass for their Saturday workout…so odd and inconvenient. The owners should really consider hiring more staff for weekend shifts for various safety and administrative reasons.

I’m very sorry to hear that you had a bad experience with us.At Icon Fitness we pride ourselves on our inclusive and friendly environment, well maintained equipment, clean facility and strict adherence to rules.For your convenience we are open 24/7 to members and are staffed Monday-Friday 10AM-8PM for signups and cleaning. We have staff come in throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday to clean only. As you mentioned, you may book to have a staff member come in to meet interested members for tours and sign ups on weekends. Booking an appointment has become quite common nowadays. And can be done easily over the phone, email, Facebook or Instagram (we’d accept carrier pigeon even!)It is clearly written in our membership agreement and signed by each member that members cannot bring people in with them outside of business hours. This is unsafe since they have not signed the liability waiver nor have they verified vaccine status. All of this is outlined when one signs up and signs our waivers and contracts. Unfortunately, if one chooses not to make an appointment and to disregard our rules and bring someone, they will incur the set fine.We will soon be implementing office hours on Saturdays. Negative experience: I was absolutely shocked when the owner called me and accused me of doing things in their gym that no normal human being would consider doing in public. They did this without even consulting with me or asking for my side. My membership was terminated without any questions, just like a dictatorship! What a way to treat your members! Grow up!

We reserve the right to cancel your membership if you a) fail to follow the rules, b) cause a nuisance or disturbance, or c) commit an illegal or immoral act.As we discussed in our previous correspondences via email and telephone, your membership has been revoked because you cause a disturbance in our gym. The multiple complaints from other members justify our decision.Out of courtesy we have refunded all your previous payments, we kindly ask that you do not return to our gym.

Fantastic experience: Amazing gym, came from Toronto and did a day pass at Icon. Loved the environment, staff were so friendly and showed me around the entire gym making me feel at home. Artwork on the walls is amazing and makes the place feel very comfortable. The entire gym was immaculate. Fantastic experience: Had to write a review because Valentin Isenburg must be sniffing glue. Been a member of this gym since it’s opened its doors. In the 10+ years they’ve been opened I have NEVER once had an issue with the gym, staff or my ability to read the agreement I signed. Valentins review sounds like this person lost the ability to read as they claim they didn’t read the agreement yet want to complain they broke a rule stated in the agreement. The gym is incredibly clean as the woman who works there keeps it immaculate as well as most of the respectful gym members who do their part in wiping down equipment and wearing clean shoes, the bathrooms / change rooms are always spotless and well maintained and the equipment is always clean. Anytime a piece of gym equipment becomes old or broken the staff replace it quickly. While Valentin thinks we care about his ability or non ability to deadlift 500+ pounds because we all know reading this that ain’t happening, I’ve pulled a 415 deadlift on that floor and never ended up in the basement so I think we’re all safe (nobody panic). The gym itself obviously doesn’t have some of the luxurious equipment a good life might have but it’s also a smaller gym in a small town. As the town has grown so has the gym with them adding more and more equipment. Overall this is an incredible gym and I’ve chosen it over going to a good life or big commercial gym where you’re treated like a bar code and not a member with a name. I speak for all of the regulars when I say this gym is awesome and we’re all excited to see how it grows!

Positive experience: Very clean and well kept. The 24hrs is a great feature to offer. The only reason there not a 5 is the limited equipment given the smaller size, but the price is appropriate for what you get

Fantastic experience: It's honestly like my second home, I'm there 5 days a week and it's great place to workout. Friendly knowledgeable staff, always really clean, and the manger (Sylvia) always freidly and welcoming. All in all great gym. 10 out 10 thanks Icon fitness honestly changed my life.

Fantastic experience: Awesone Gym! Friendly staff, reasonable drop in rates, student rates for those on Christmas break, reading week or home for the summer. Everything is new and clean, for spending a few days back home I couldnt have asked for better.

Fantastic experience: Been going to this gym for over 2 years, out of all the gyms I’ve been to this is the best hands down, very clean place. The staff is friendly, it feels like home when I go to the gym. Not to crowded there at all even when it’s busy. Love this place! If only people under 18 could have 24 hour access hahah

Positive experience: Nice clean, open space. Good amount of weight and machine sections
Positive experience: The staff members are really nice (you actually get to know have sort of a relationship with them unlike some of the bigger gyms) the place is well maintained, my only complaint is that I think they could add a few more things like agility latters and possibly some tires but that's just my personal opinion
Fantastic experience: Clean, organized and has all I need for weightlifting. No classes, but rumor has it they are taking over the restaurant for their use.
