Negative experience: "Don't Join LA fitness Personal Training Program", they will allure you and provide you some false promises, Once you agreed they put you in a Contract, then You can't cancel .I joined LA Fitness Brant Street, Burlington center and enrolled in a personal training programe.I cancelled in writing after 1 month of training since I didn't find any worth/benefit from the training, but my credit card was charged again one month later, also they were asking huge amount (1/2 of rest of the months fees) as cancelation fee. I did not receive a copy of my contract at signup. Be extremely careful with personal training contracts and recurring charges. Keep everything in writing and monitor your card closely.

Negative experience: I’m just not sure why usually the water temperature in the pool was OK . But today is super cold. Is it on purpose? So nobody is willing to swim here? Please make it warm or a temperature that humans can survive. It feels so cold,especially it is winter already.

Negative experience: Terrible experience at LA Fitness. Kirtik, one of the managers, promised us a 1-month trial but tricked us to sign a 10-day trial instead and pressured us into a personal trainer we didn’t want. We trusted him, signed an 18-page contract, and now we’re stuck paying 9 months totaling $4,500. Josh, another manager, did nothing, and even headquarters couldn’t fix it. Do not trust anyone at this gym, especially Kirtik.

Fantastic experience: I recently returned to the city and was searching for a new gym membership that offered great equipment, clean facilities, and a welcoming environment. After visiting several fitness centers, I stopped by LA Fitness Burlington North, and I’m glad I did. Josh, the salesperson, was absolutely outstanding. He took the time to give us a full tour of the Burlington North facility, explained all the amenities, and went over the membership options in a clear and professional way. His knowledge, friendliness, and no-pressure approach made the decision extremely easy. I was completely satisfied and signed up on the spot. Fantastic experience: I have had an overall great experience with LA Fitness, since joining just under a year ago after about a 10-year break from exercising. Immediately when I joined, I was offered the Fitness Assessment with their Personal Trainer. Boy was that a wake up call for me! I took advantage of their great New Year offers in January 2025, and from that point, started an intensive 9 month program with fantastic Personal Trainer, and whom I can now call a friend, Eric Nadarajah. I will say that Eric changed my life. I went from overweight, unhealthy, and feeling terrible all the time, to losing approx. 25 Lbs, and 7% body fat, and gaining good muscle mass! I feel stronger, healthier and owe it all to Eric's fantastic guidance (and of course, all the great Fantasy Football and comic book movie discussions) Thank you again Eric, and I highly recommend LA Fitness Personal Training if you truly want to change your life!

Negative experience: The gym is disgusting. Over the span of a couple of days, the change room/washroom/shower area was never cleaned. Soap residue, hair, garbage all over the place. Also, there’s no hot water for the showers for weeks. The water foundation is also dirty.

Fantastic experience: I have been a member of LA Fitness for almost 20 years. I find the staff friendly and helpful and the facilities are very good. I am very disappointed that the Friday morning aquafit class has been cancelled. I came to LA for the water aerobics on the advice of medical professionals. I hope the class can be reinstated soon.

Fantastic experience: Great gym for all levels of experience! I started my strength training journey here with their suggested personal trainer, Eric. He helped me gain the confidence of learning all the different techniques and machines over a 9 month period that I can use for the rest of my life! Highly recommend!

Negative experience: I’ve been a loyal member for four years. Yesterday, I went to the reception and officially cancelled my membership. I was clearly informed that after cancellation, I wouldn’t be required to pay for the next two months — everything went smoothly at the time. However, today when I scanned my QR code, a manager stopped me and insisted I had to pay for this month. I explained that I had cancelled my membership the day before and was told I wouldn’t be charged. She then gave me an ultimatum: either pay for the full month or leave after today. This is extremely disappointing. Is this really how long-term members are treated? I followed the proper cancellation process and was given clear information. Being told something completely different the next day and pressured to pay feels unfair and unprofessional. I also don’t recommend to go with this gym. Literally every week there is at least three machines are broken.!!!!!

Negative experience: New lighting in the bathrooms was not the move

Negative experience: Terrible customer service. It’s all good until you need to ask a question. I wanted to give a relative a one week pass while they were visiting which they advertise throughout the gym but they ended up denying it for no good reason. I have been a member here for over 10 years too and it’s the only time I’ve requested something like this.

Negative experience: Many clients are extremely unhappy with changes to the schedule at Appleby/Brant locations. Extremely well attended classes (such as Yoga, Aqua Fit) have had the times and/or teacher changed/removed without appropriate explanation to loyal members. Members are very upset as management at the locations tell us that these decisions are made by their supervisors. Clients are left with a feeling that upper management will not listen to and/or are tone deaf to client’s input or suggestions.

Fantastic experience: I have been training for 3 months under the guidance and help of the coach Zaheer and I am so happy with improvement.

Fantastic experience: Good afternoon, I am writing to express my sadness for the cancellation of the Friday 9am aquafit class taught by Jen Irvine. My parents (ages 81 and 85) just adore this class, along with many other seniors. They love Jen, and most especially appreciate her warmth and kindness for seniors physical and emotional needs. Jen always remembers the names and details of her students, and she offers kind and encouraging modifications for this very special age group. They rely on Jen and I would like to know what we can do to bring Jen and her amazing class back for these seniors!

Negative experience: Recently LA Fitness has cancelled the Friday Morning Aqua Fit class with Jen Irvine and I am really disappointed with this change. As a retired person this class was both a good work out but also a most convenient time, Come on LA Fitness Appleby do better and bring back this class. Jenn is a very knowledgeable instructor and her classes are very enjoyable.

Eric not only tailored our workouts to our fitness goals, but was also able to keep up motivated for all of our sessions. Fantastic experience: Switched to LA Fitness a few months now due to moving to different work locations and finding out that that LA have multiple locations that would easily facilitate that. Besides, they are budget friendly and have great menbership packages to choose from. Josh, the Manager, was amazing at helping to pick the right membership package for us. Appleby and Dundas location, on the North Eastern corner is a huge facility that did not disappoint. They have a lot of equipment, multiple for the popular ones, and a great variety to use depending on your work out requirements. Huge spaces for aerobic machines, spinning, Zumba classes, floor-work a basketball/volleyball court, women's only work out rooms and a decent sized pool. The staff is always friendly and welcoming! Happy with the switch to LA Fitness.

Negative experience: Called to get a an appointment so I can become a member. No response, no call backs, went in and made me wait 30mins and still no one came. I just want to try the facilities out and use the gym before becoming a member but I can’t till I’ve been given a “tour” by the sales staff. It’s been 1 month, 3 phone calls, 1 visit and left my number for a call back on 3 occasions and still no response. Guess I’ll contact Goodlife across the road. Terrible service, manager should look at what is going on, 1 month trying to use this gym, clearly no one cares to work here.

Fantastic experience: I got membership and started working out in this LA fitness location on 9th July without any prior workout knowledge, Kartik (head coach) in here insisted us to get few personal training sessions so we get desires results quickly and sustainably, and i think it was our best decision of life that we listened to him. Lost 10 pounds in 1 months without crash dieting or over exerting myself. Our Personal trainer Zaheer is exceptionally knowledgeable and focuses on mobility. Overall 10on10 experience till now.

Negative experience: It is way too hot in here to workout...I'm not even sure if there is air conditioning at this location. The fans are always spinning but there is no A/C. Came from the gym across the street which always had the A/C blasted...so if you like extra sweaty workouts this is your place! I'm surprised no one has fainted yet (that I know of)

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to LA Fitness for a while and overall, it’s been a positive experience. The gym has a wide range of equipment, plenty of cardio machines, and generally enough space even during peak hours. I really appreciate the group classes and the basketball court—definitely nice extras that not every gym offers.

Negative experience: Some of the members here, a specific bunch, love to stare and ogle at the females. Staring is rude and makes for a very uncomfortable experience. Management should be more aware of the inappropriate behaviour by some of the members.

Negative experience: Too be honest this place was amazing, I started to realize the small things that just make me want to have a private gym. Personally, I used to love using the warmup mirror room, Yoga sessions came out of nowhere for like 3-4 hours each day I swear I can do two whole days of workout and they just finished one yoga session. Looking forward to just having my own private space soon.

Negative experience: If you’re debating freezing/cancelling, just cancel. These guys will do anything to suck a couple more bucks out of you. I told the manager I wanted to freeze my account from now on, then 2 days later I get a full months charge on my account. This gym doesn’t care about its members, just how much money you’re giving them.

Positive experience: Decent gym overall with solid equipment and facilities. However, I’m knocking down a couple of stars because of their persistent upselling of personal training (PT) packages and the rigid 6-month lock-in policy. If you happen to travel or need to take a break during that period, even if you request a freeze in advance, they don’t offer any flexibility or compensation for missed sessions. I was told outright that this is company policy, which feels a bit unreasonable. Would recommend transparency and a little more understanding in handling genuine customer needs.

Negative experience: Very humid, HVAC isn't sufficient. There hasn't been any warm water to wash your hands since I joined over 4 months ago. 4 of the soap dispensers today had no soap. Then had to try 3 different faucets to find one that worked.

Fantastic experience: The gym is very clean and everything is well organized. The men’s change room is also spotless — props to the janitor for doing such a great job! Everything from the lockers to the showers is well maintained. Keep up the great work!

Positive experience: Never too busy. Clean. Friendly people. I left because of the age and lack of maintenance on the cardio machines. If you have a gen 1 ipod that needs charging you can do it on the tread machines. There are many machines, you may need to try a few to find one works properly.

Negative experience: WARNING: Locker Theft Alert at LA Fitness Appleby Line, Burlington Please protect your belongings and valuables by not storing them in the lockers! On April 15, 2025, at approximately 4:00 PM, an unknown female used an object to bypass my Master Lock combination padlock, on Locker #1, and stole cash, debit, and credit cards.​ The suspect then used the stolen debit and credit cards to purchase multiple gift cards at a nearby Walmart store # 3170. From talking to others, thefts from lockers have been reported at multiple LA Fitness locations, including incidents where bolt cutters were used to access lockers.​
