Many users appreciate the welcoming community vibe and the friendly, knowledgeable staff who make the experience enjoyable. Members have highlighted the importance of the classes, such as Zumba and hot yoga, which keep them engaged and motivated.
However, some users have expressed concerns regarding the facility's cleanliness and maintenance, particularly with machines being out of order for extended periods and issues in the women's area. Movati Athletic: Opinions
Negative experience: Phone service is extremely bad. They always give you the wrong information because they don’t want to stay on the phone to process your request. I called to extend the freeze on my membership and the person who answered the call told me no you have to come in person, I said I was told I can do it over the phone he said policy changed. I asked when he paused then said last week. I felt he is making up stuff so I called another location and I was able to extend the freeze with no issues. Once my membership is up I won’t renew it. Very POOR customer service
Negative experience: Crowded and with passive aggressive staff in group fitness classes. Gym amenities nice otherwise, but I don't go to the gym to be snapped at.
Fantastic experience: Great location with swimming pool, hot tub, steam, sauna, womens only area, friendly staff, cafeteria with a working area with wifi, just excellent.
Fantastic experience: Good facility. Amazing classes and instructors
Negative experience: Writing this review for my soul mate who goes here and is a committed member. The water is cold when a shower is needed which has been going on for a long time now. When she spoke with the front desk, the older lady suggested to go home and shower. Seriously? Who says that. Then why are pay the fat bucks. After a aqua class change into clean clothes, go home and shower and wash extra laundry causing so much inconvenience??? Also, I heard the towels are smelly, so much for the towel options which is supposed to be a perk. The sauna temperature is always lower than optimal. Disappointing.
Fantastic experience: Ive been to quite a few of the MOVATIs and Burlington is BY FAR the best one. The cleanliness is above and beyond, the spa music in the change room is so relaxing in comparison to upbeat music played at most other MOVATIs, the staff are so nice and attentive, always making sure to say hello and goodbye. I have also had the pleasure of working with a few of the trainers and they are also knowledgeable and pleasant. I couldn’t recommend this location more.
Positive experience: The front desk connected me with Mark Filice who runs a small group strength training program for women. This is an excellent program and a great value. I went into this class never having touched a barbell and now one year into the program am comfortable doing things like deadlifts, pushing heavy sleds and can even do a chin up! In this program I also got to meet two other trainers; Tyler and Adam, both of whom are excellent. I would highly recommend the small group strength training program run by Mark. I don’t think any other gym in the area offers a program like this.
Fantastic experience: Very clean gym, with lots of equipment and class options. The staff and trainers are fantastic, especially Arbab!!!
Negative experience: Overrated and overpriced. Save the money and find another gym
Negative experience: The facilities are nice, however I had very negative experiences in group classes where I was publicly berated. When I spoke to the general manager he provided no support and I canceled my membership because of this. In my opinion you can have a better experience for lower fees at other gyms
Fantastic experience: I'd like to compliment our aqua instructor Eric on his great class. He really provides a super workout and with great music! You can tell he knows his stuff and really puts the effort in to ensure a full body regime. Thank you Eric for your efforts and enthusiasm!
Fantastic experience: Been a member for 5+ years and this is easily the best gym I ever been to in Halton region. Wide selection of equipment for weight training and cardio. The downstairs area has ample amount of squat racks, huge cage, and a nice turf area. Locker rooms are always well maintained and cleaned multiple times per day. Steam room, hot tub, dry sauna, and swimming pool is amazing. Super friendly staff, never had any issues with anything in all my time here.
Negative experience: overrated
Negative experience: I don't understand why we pay such high prices... yet we cant use the womens studio when there arent any classes taken place. This is unheard of at other gyms. You are able to use the studio if there arent any classes. Please open the womens only studio so we can all use it.
Fantastic experience: I have been working with the small women’s elite training group with Mark since the beginning of the year. He’s encouraged me to lift heavier and improve my form to really help me succeed. The group is so friendly and everyone supports each other. Mark keeps the workouts interesting and always offers advice and encouragement!
Negative experience: The associate manager lied to me about needing my credit card on file updated “in case of a cancelled class” then jacked my membership fee up later that day via email.
Negative experience: The gym has changed so much!! it's become overcrowded and chaotic, and getting into popular classes is nearly impossible (which they are overbooked as well). The lack of space and calm made me lose motivation to renew my membership this year. If the experience no longer matches the premium price, it’s hard to justify staying.
Negative experience: place changed dramatically-overcrowding, becoming like a GoodLife, no one wipes machines down, always on their phones, waiting for machines, members wear clothes in the sauna, can not get into classes. Popular classes are always overbooked. Sad this was a great place!
Fantastic experience: Clean, welcoming, spacious. Offer all that I need to keep fit!
Negative experience: I'm a senior mother and my daughter kept encouraging me to register in Movavi and recommend it for the family not just me I premised I will think about it one day she told me that she asked to have one on one trainer and the management sent a young male to train her and was surprised that he told her that he will be easy with her as she is the age of his mother she was telling me the story and was smiling but frankly it upset me when she asked me again to go to that gym I told her if that happened with you and you are at thirty what am I suspect to hear if I register in that place no one ever want to go to a place to comfort his physical and mental status with such unfriendly and rude environment they should be careful when they chose their employee and train them to show a good customer service displays.
Fantastic experience: I joined this gym on and off for 2 years Gloria and the rest of the staff thank you
Negative experience: AVOID MOVATI BURLINGTON AT ALL COSTS. Paid $200 in fee's to sign up. I was told this included first month - now I'm seeing a fee for $70 ( bi-weekly, may I add) for my first month. The individual who signed us up did not properly disclose or communicate that there would be an additional fee after paying $200 to sign up. Apparently the $200 is just a down-payment to be a member and doesn't include the first month. . I wish I read the reviews earlier! Now I see that multiple customers are complaining about not being disclosed that the non-commit membership comes with an assortment of unwarranted cancellation fees. After this review was posted, I received a call from Shareef, their experience manager. Completely denying all accountability of any miscommunication and zero customer support.
Fantastic experience: Clean facilities, friendly and welcoming staff. Heavily recommended trying out the spin classes!
Fantastic experience: I recently signed up for MOVATI here in Burlington after a really informative & inspiring tour! I’ve finished my second full week and couldn’t be more impressed by the staff, amenities, classes and facilities. Overall my favourite gym I’ve been a member of, looking forward to my health gains and some more awesome smoothies!
Fantastic experience: Had a great experience at Movati Gym — big thanks to Morgan, the guy who gave me the tour. He was super chill, knowledgeable, and made the whole place feel really welcoming. As someone new to the gym scene, I had a lot of questions and he took the time to answer all of them without making me feel rushed. Morgan really knows his stuff and made a great first impression. Definitely recommend asking for him if you’re checking the place out!
Positive experience: Been going 3 years, the facility is great and well kept. Great for classes and nice equipment. For someone not taking advantage of the classes and amenities it is pricey but it really is a great facility. On another note please movati, stop removing equipment so the place can feel more "roomy." Crowds are horrible and hours are not the best so please give us back our benches that were downstairs and our forearm machine! Also please go back to the old app. That's all for complaints.
Fantastic experience: Went on a tour last month at this facility. Morgan did a great job showing me around and explaining how this club works. Couldn’t be happier being a member at this club. Great place to work out and the staff are all amazing!
Fantastic experience: Went on a tour a couple weeks ago, all the staff are very lovely. I signed up with Morgan and he was great throughout the whole process. Would highly recommend for anyone as there is so much to do beyond the gym.
Fantastic experience: Great and detailed tour, brynn is super friendly and informative!
Fantastic experience: First and foremost I do not understand the bad reviews! This gym is super welcoming, Aidan signed me up and he was a joy to deal with. He was very upfront and honest and didn’t try to pressure me at all. He made the whole process so easy going and to be honest I wouldn’t have joined if he wasn’t signing me up because he was honest and straight to the point and wasn’t pushy at all, he was very interested in showing me how things work and all the amenities they have. I love how welcoming he was and how he cared about me actually going to the gym. The gym itself is HUGE AND SO CLEAN! I also don’t understand the issue with the sauna or jacuzzi cause both of those were working and they were super clean. Love this gym and I’m excited to start going. The amount of chill spots and the fact that it was well air conditioned and didn’t feel so hot and sweaty in there was amazing! They even have reformer Pilates which I got an amazing deal for and the women’s change room is like a salon!
Fantastic experience: Great gym, friendly staff, amazing variety of classes. I started reformer Pilates with Mark in January 2025 and have learned a lot and seen improvement in my strength, balance and technique. I appreciate the smaller reformer class size as it more gives more of a personal training experience, allows the trainer to correct your form and modify exercises if necessary. Overall extremely happy with my experience thus far!
Fantastic experience: Best gym ever
Fantastic experience: best gym i been too, (i’ve been to LA, Pure, goodlife, etc) everyone else that is complaining is living in their own world or just wants attention lol
Negative experience: I was asking AGAIN when the hot tub would be working as I have been given many different answers from the front desk over the last TWO MONTHS yes!! It hasn't worked in two months. Always told "we are waiting on a part" " we have the part it will be working tomorrow " that one was over month ago another lie was "yes, definitely will be working mid next week" that one was tree weeks ago. I have emailed Head Office a few times with zero response. The Infra red sauna is no longer Infra Red. Do not join I'm looking at other gyms now
Negative experience: Terrible place hot tub hardly works the saunas not working. Most staff at the front are rude and lie when asked why something is not working. The hottub hasn't worked in almost 2 months now I hear the only good sauna has been taken out.
Fantastic experience: I really like this gym. Not overly crowded. Very clean and well maintained. Variety of different equipment depending on your goals. The Fuel Room has unique things for those who want to take their training to the next level. Of all the gyms i’ve been to, their change room and shower area is the cleanest and nicest.
Negative experience: EDIT: Movati just ruined the sauna in the women’s change room. It’s no longer infrared, removed seating areas & installed uncomfortable seats. Why am I paying $150 a month for this? Half way through my 1 year commitment. 1. Towels frayed with holes 2. Lockers missing hooks 3. Women’s side squat racks have no mirrors. This is actually a safety hazard. 4. Fuel area fans are aggressive and I can’t fully open my eyes. Also, why are the lights so bright now? 5. Pool - murky water on weekends and the temperature range is 75-85. When I came for the walk through I was promised 86. When I asked after signing up, they said “it’s a range.” 6. Pool - aqua fit people take over the pool one hour before class on weekends making the pool unusable from 8:30am-12pm. 7. Sauna - why is the light so bright? It use to be a peaceful place and now it increases cortisol 8. Showers - will the boiler ever be fixed? It’s been since December now that the temps are all over the place. 9. Hot yoga is just warm yoga. 10. The phone use in the women’s change room, sauna, showers and pool is out of control. If I wanted to be on camera I’d go to pure muscle and fitness Also, I’ve provided feedback to Movati and not only did they not call me back they also have not made any improvements in months
Negative experience: I have been a member at this location for years and enjoyed the atmosphere. Lately, the quality of service and equipment has gone down a noticeable amount. In addition to that, I had an issue when it came to renewing my membership and after speaking with 3 employees in person and over the phone, I reached out to the GM. He did reply but sent me a generic email reply with no solution or assistance given. It's ironic that they have just increased their pricing to almost $60 biweekly when the value for money has never been worse. A real shame for the Movati brand. Seems they are looking to cut down on loyal members.
Positive experience: Been there for many years, I love the variety in classes the atmosphere and how clean the facility is, lately it is been so hard to get in to the classes I used to which i think they should work on this since they are open to welcome more and more members it don't suppose to effect the quality and chances of other old members to attend their usual classes. Last time I’ve been frustrated with other members who’ve been talking loudly on their phones during workout and I talked to the front desk twice regardless this and they ignored my complain !
Fantastic experience: movati burlington is truly next-level. the space is spotless seriously one of the cleanest, most pristine gyms i’ve ever stepped into. the atmosphere is so motivating, with a great mix of high energy and welcoming vibes. every trainer i met during my internship was incredibly talented, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about helping members reach their goals. the equipment is all top-tier and super well-maintained everything you need for any kind of workout. such an inspiring place to train, grow, and feel your best. 10/10 experience.
Negative experience: they removed the hand sanitizer and wipes from the locker room how am I supposed to clean my locker now??? what’s even the point of removing them
Negative experience: I had a very bad experience at the gym especially for classes I wanted to attend the power bell class by instructor SANDRA K and this lady is very rude she has an attitude also she touched me while I am talking to her that’s not acceptable and she ruined my morning routine for the gym .
Fantastic experience: I've been doing PIlates Reformer Body Sculpt 6am and Core & Glutes 9am classes with Instructor Mark for a couple of months now. I spend far too many hours sitting every day for work causing weak leg and glutes muscles. Since doing these two classes I've experienced improvements in my posture, reduced lower back pain and an increase in range of motion of my knee (knee replacement 2 yrs ago). Mark observes and communicates the corrections to make to ensure maximim impact. Looking forward to a stronger body.
Fantastic experience: I have been a member at Movati Burlington for over 2 years. The staff and group exercises classes are wonderful! During the last 3 months, I have started taking Reformer Pilates classes with Mark, Body Sculpt on Sundays. Mark’s class is a full body workout and he always has a fabulous playlist. His expertise and encouragement helps his students very much! Definitely check out his class! It’s an essential part of my Sunday routine!
Fantastic experience: Movati is second to none. The staff and other members are always enthusiastic and encouraging. I am lucky enough to be working with personal trainer Scarlett Delgado. She is the best. She motivates me to achieve my goals. I have lost 25lbs in 3 months and have gained so much strength that it has already changed my life. I am looking forward to continuing this journey with Scarlett and discovering what we can achieve. A++
Negative experience: Advertising shows infrared sauna, Infrared sauna has been removed in Burlington location Apparently they will remove it from Mississauga location as well , this is what made this establishment unique due to its benefits which is not the same as regular heated sauna, this needs to change back. Also noticed they removed the decorative wall and replaced it with murals as supposed to fixed it, not sure how a club as such charges premium increasing rates, and not able to keep up with the maintenance and just cut costs
Negative experience: Amongst all the amenities I have to write this review about the Women's Sauna experience - is TERRIBLE AT Movati Burlington. 1. The temperature is too LOW - it is barely 45°C = 120 F!!! The benefits of the sauna start at 55°C to 60°C which is 132F to 140 F. It would be great if they could replace the sauna with the conventional sauna just like the other locations. 2. Some women using the sauna have no hygiene consciousness, no gym etiquette and it is so stupid of them to walk in with their shoes, slippers, some sort of footwear!! This is DISGUSTING!! Sitting on the benches with shoes on and even bringing the shoes into the sauna clearly shows how stupid and unhygienic these women are! Everyone has to breathe in germs from the footwear in the sauna. Unfortunately Movati has not taken any steps to fix this situation. Movati used to have a sign that read no footwear and mobile devices starting from the shower area. They removed those signs and the women using showers, sauna and steam nowadays are often on their phones filming, with their footwear on the benches. I hope the management can take immediate action to resolve this situation - PUT A BIG BOLD SIGN OF ALL KINDS OF FOOTWEAR THAT'S NOT ALLOWED IN THE SAUNA and perhaps consider assigning the cleaning staff in the women's changing room responsibility to let these ignorant women know some of these sauna hygiene practices and proper gym etiquette. The machines they have though are alright, not suitable for all ages and height categories.
Negative experience: Very nice clean gym however the women’s sauna isn’t working right. Everytime I ask someone has a different answer. Some say a new part is ordered and to arrive end of March, others say it’s just the way it is and some say maybe it doesn’t get hot enough because the door occasionally opens. I moved to this gym from my other gym specifically because of the health benefits of the sauna. However it rarely gets above 120. When all the research says it needs to be done e between 110-160. They set it to 145’ but it never gets there. All I hear is someone complaining and nothing gets done about it. Very frustrating.
Fantastic experience: I’ve been joined Mark’s group training class “strong women”for more than three months. My body has been changed a lot. I do feel I am more energetic and see some muscles on my arms and thighs. Thanks Mark. Before I joined the class, I have lower back problems. I felt so sore after I drove two or three hours. My right heel would be painful if I walked for two miles. I am so happy both problems have gone now. the age is not an issue. everyone can do the weight training.
Positive experience: Currently a member, it’s a really nice gym, clean and tons of space/machines For the price we pay towel service should be included for ALL members. Not just select. But that’s really the only downside
Fantastic experience: I joined Movati Burlington about a month ago and I’m LOVING it so far! From the seamless registration with Aidan to the impactful personal training session with Shannon - folks are truly dedicated to your success. The facilities are amazing, including the women’s only with top notch amenities and even its own pool. There are a variety of classes throughout the week (200 at least, I believe) and so far I’m really enjoying Barre Flow and Burlesque classes with Jade as well as Aqua Bootcamp with Annemarie. Highly recommend this gym.
Positive experience: Graet gym, fantastic amenities/services. But if you are looking for an inclusive place, this is not it! There are women only classes, none for men! There is a women's only pool, none for men! There is a family pool, the one men use. It just doesn't seem fair to me. Apart from that it's a great facility
Fantastic experience: Been training their over a year. They keep this gym very clean. Great coaching program with Coach Patrick
Fantastic experience: Very clean, staff is always friendly - steam room is worth it
Fantastic experience: ALEXIS, Movati’s most reliable she really came through with her life saving jumper cables all the way out from the front desk to her car to drive over to mine with a dead battery at the time. Standing and waiting outside in the cold cold winter day with me to make sure my car started back up before she left. Fortunately all was swell thankfully for Alexis & her jumper cables THANK YOU!
Fantastic experience: A gym with everything you need
Negative experience: I’m a current member, the gym is not bad and they’re always cleaning. But The price is definitely too high and not worth it. The Sauna is not Infra red like they advertise, and it could use an extra “umph” for the price like maybe supply cotton buds, wet naps, feminine hygiene, for $80/month and towels are not provided. I will be leaving after my contract is done.
Fantastic experience: Recently became a member of Movati Athletic in Burlington. My wife and I were very pleased to have been helped by Aidan. He showed us all the corners of the club and walked us through the entire enrolment process in a very clear, professional and friendly manner.
Negative experience: Hidden charges and fees. Horrible customer service
Negative experience: Worst customer service, lots of hidden charges and fees. Do not sign up.
Fantastic experience: Love that there’s a women’s only section. Staff are kind, protein shakes are to die for
Fantastic experience: I've been working with personal trainer Alexander Richardson since I joined the gym in May 2024. I always felt intimidated by the commercial gym environment, but Alexander has been incredibly encouraging and patient. He demonstrated how to use each machine and corrected my form, ensuring I was performing exercises safely and effectively. Alexander is both professional and knowledgeable, and he makes each training session not only productive but also enjoyable. I've seen great results since starting training with him. I've become stronger both mentally and physically. Today, I achieved a personal best of 270 lbs on the leg press! Thank you, Alexander!"
Negative experience: Once you officially join and they have your money, their customer service becomes non existent!! Brutal.
Fantastic experience: Awesome facility, amazing staff!
Positive experience: The classes can fill up too quickly to get able to book.
Negative experience: Worst cancellation experience, not a decent place, they r just trying all they can to rip a couple of more payments. Average facility, but not worth the trouble to deal with this.
Negative experience: If I could give this club 0/5 i would... sand flies in the swimming area no oversite to ensure people actually take a shower before entering the hot tub, change room seldom mopped. Then I asked to place membership on hold since they don't tell you it auto renews yearly ...and THEN I asked to cancel my membership and now I got a collection notice...with not one person even reaching out ...no emails... no phone call to say they have an issue .....seriously wtf.
Fantastic experience: The gym facility and staff are awesome, but personal training is a whole other story. As someone who’s had a few personal trainers in her life, I haven’t seen a faster progress than the one I had with Paul Thomas. Despite being with him for only a few months (less time than with any other trainer) I was hitting new PRs I never thought I’d be able to do. He’s encouraging, knowledgeable, and most of all really fun to have as a trainer.
Fantastic experience: Well, gave my membership up 4 years ago but went as a guest today. It was delightful. I may have to join again! So clean and organized. Thank you for today!
Positive experience: Nice facilitaties. Unfortunately it's impossible to reserve any popular group fitness classes. Haven't been able to book a single one since joining Sep 24. Way too busy and too few classes.
Negative experience: Thank you guys for sharing your experiences. I was actually considering signing up for a no-commitment membership at Movati Athletic, but after reading these reviews, I’m definitely rethinking it. The idea of paying higher fees just to avoid a contract, only to be charged even after cancellation, sounds like a huge red flag. I really appreciate you taking the time to warn others, this saved me from what could have been a frustrating experience. I’ll skip this gym and look for a place that’s more transparent and fair with their policies. Thanks again!
Negative experience: I completely agree with the other reviews – Movati is nothing but a rip-off. I had the exact same experience. I signed up for their no-commitment plan, which already had higher monthly fees, thinking it would save me from cancellation issues down the line. When I decided to cancel my membership, I was shocked to see that they continued charging me for three extra payments after the cancellation date. There were no clear terms or warnings about this when I joined. It felt incredibly unfair and misleading. It’s frustrating to see how this place handles its customers. They lure you in with “flexible” plans but find ways to charge you after you’re done. I wouldn’t recommend this gym to anyone.
Negative experience: I had an absolutely terrible experience at Movati Athletic gym, this place is a complete rip-off! I initially joined as a member and specifically chose the no-commitment contract option, which meant I was already paying higher fees compared to regular contracts. Despite this, when I decided to cancel my membership, I was shocked to find out they continued to charge me for three more payments after the cancellation date. There were no clear conditions mentioned about this when I signed up. It feels like they trap you into paying extra even when you’re not using their services anymore. I strongly believe this is unethical and misleading. If you’re considering joining – DON’T! There are much better gyms out there that respect their members and honor cancellation policies without sneaky charges. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Avoid at all costs!
Fantastic experience: I have been going to Mark Felice's for about 2 years and I have seen amazing results. He is really good with correcting form to ensure you're performing the exercise correctly. He has helped me be able to hit some of my goals with the amount I am able to lift. I highly recommend this woman's program to anyone who wants to get fit and feel their best!
Negative experience: Poorly managed. Hands down awful.
Fantastic experience: I have been with Movati since opening very friendly stafff…my personal trainer Alexander is awesome already seeing great results and he makes sessions fun and enjoyable….he is the beekeeper
Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend Mark Filice enough! His expertise in strength training, weight loss, and nutrition is truly impressive. He is professional, positive and thorough, ensuring proper form throughout training sessions. Mark is also incredibly encouraging, and his upbeat attitude and positive energy make every workout enjoyable, even when it’s tough; not to mention his great taste in music! Since I started training with Mark at the beginning of October 2024 I’ve already seen noticeable improvements in my strength, stamina and overall health. If you’re looking for a knowledgeable, approachable, and results-driven trainer, I encourage you to see Mark Filice.
Fantastic experience: Super star staff and super clean... great parking great service.super good work out......
Negative experience: I have been a member here for 2 years, and would have remained at this gym for years to come, had I not had an extremely embarrassing exchange with the “experience manager” last week. I was entering the gym with my key fob, as I always do, and was stopped and asked for a picture to be taken and photo id. With only minutes until my class started I asked if I could provide both the following day. I had my phone on me with the movati app and also a key fob to prove I was a member. The girl was extremely rude and loud about the whole thing. She was talking about equality, and honestly made no sense. I was shocked, and embarrassed. I have never had a problem entering the gym with just my fob and I don’t bring my wallet to the gym, so I had no photo id. I simply said if you won’t let me in today, with the agreement I will have my picture taken, and my photo id on me tomorrow I’ll be cancelling my membership. She promptly walked over to the computer and cancelled my membership. Lol. This experience manager, provided an experience that’s for sure! I sent an email to movati about what happened and they said it’s in their agreement that they don’t have to let you in without a picture. No apology, nothing. As I said I was a member for 2 years and have never had an issue entering the facility. The gym is also packed, with I believe 32-35 people in one class for hot yoga, and the equipment is becoming outdated. Not impressed, but I will miss some of the very sweet yoga instructors. Please teach your “managers” some common courtesy and customer service skills.
Positive experience: Classes are packed , no room in classes , heavier weights are limited ...(( Membership cost skyrocketed lately .
Fantastic experience: Payton was amazing she helped me find my lost airpodss! Soo helpful friendly and kind!
Fantastic experience: Ethan was amazing during the sign up process and now over 6 months later he still goes above and beyond every time we chat to make sure my experience with MOVATI is always a 5 star one. When signing up, ask for Ethan!!! Classes have also always been amazing and I love the amenities.
Fantastic experience: NEW SAUNA IS AWESOME ! Thanks MOVATI ! Don’t listen to the haters yal are awesome
Negative experience: Great facility and great pilates, TRX and yoga classes, BUT for $53/2 weeks, it is unacceptable that classes are overbooked, late registrants are let in right until start of class, and there isn’t a straightforward waiting list protocol.
Fantastic experience: My fav Movati gym! It’s so big
Fantastic experience: I have been a member of Mark Filice’s Strong Women small group classes for 5 months. Mark is an exceptional trainer! Mark’s attention to proper technique ensures optimal strength gains while reducing the possibility of injury. His workouts are varied and comprehensive. Mark is also great at motivating us to work hard to reach our personal goals. I am not new to training, yet I have been thrilled with my results - I am stronger, healthier and more energetic than I have been in years! The group dynamic is also amazing - we push ourselves and encourage others to reach personal bests. Highly recommend!
Fantastic experience: Staff members are friendly, inviting, and energetic! I am glad to have switched to Movati as my go to gym. Equipment is plentiful and in very good condition. If something is broken it’s fixed or replaced promptly. The atmosphere is amazing as well!
Fantastic experience: Best gym I ve been so far
Fantastic experience: I have been enjoying the small group strength training classes with Mark. His patience, attentiveness and encouragement to progress, makes me excited and confident in my ability to achieve my fitness goals. Through the mobility and strength I have developed, I have noticed an improvement in my everyday life by making daily activities easier, such as gardening or even carrying the groceries to the car. I also noticed an improvement in my posture and stability while horseback riding and endurance while hiking on vacation. The small group strength training has been such a wonderful experience so far and I’ve met a group of woman that are so kind and encouraging at every workout!
Negative experience: Beautiful gym. Awesome classes and fun teachers. I was so proud of myself for joining! However, as a super busy single mom, widow with two kids, two jobs and two dogs I did not manage to get to my class on time because of my daughter’s friends needing a bandaid for her scraped knee so i was 5 minutes late!! (I checked my watch) and found the doors locked and I am forbidden to join the class at all, so had just driven 20 minutes for nothing. Not only that, I get scolded by a 20 years old for being late wagging their finger. “We have a strict policy mam! Being late is seen as a no- show here at Movati” and then proceeds to explain to me that I get a “strike” on my membership for a no- show and 3 strikes is very bad and I have to send an email to someone high up to request for the strike to be removed. 5 minutes late to a gym class on Saturday afternoon and I am in trouble like in kindergarden. I wanted to cancel my membership right on the spot I was so annoyed. But I had to wait for some higher up to call me so I could cancel. And guess what, the higher up did not call me back until the period where i was able to cancel was over. Of course. So now I am forced to keep paying 130$ a month for a year when I won’t be going. And they warned me that they would send over a collection agency if I did not pay. Thankfully I am wealthy enough to not care about my credit score at all. Buy for those who care, that’s not a good place to find yourself in. ♀️ whatever you do, do not sign!! ♀️ I am sure the owners of Movati would be really annoyed if they knew how poorly their short sighted Karen managers are. they have lost my business and my two friends businesses as I had convinced them to join since the gym is actually awesome. And I am telling all my other friends. (I have lots of friends). I also feel super bad for my awesome personal trainer Jeremy. He is awesome I already started to feel improvement in regards to my back issues! He lost money also because of them.
Fantastic experience: I joined Mark’s Reformer Pilates Class a few months ago to help me improve my stability, mobility, and posture. I’ve seen significant improvements in all three areas and Mark is a wonderful and attentive coach. He makes sure to accommodate for all fitness levels and provide words of encouragement. He’s very knowledgeable and enthusiastic to help his clients achieve their goals. Pilates has also helped me become stronger for my strength training sessions! If you’re thinking of training with Mark, do it! You will not regret it.
Negative experience: Was a member here for 2 years and recently cancelled. The facility is showing wear and tear that is not properly addressed. Machines are constantly broken for long periods of time and the workout area is not very clean with lots of dirt, dust and bugs everywhere you look. Popular classes are impossible to book into, even if you go on the app at the exact time booking opens. In the summer there is essentially no AC in the women's gym area making it incredibly hot and humid (this has been broken since last summer and they are only now getting it fixed). Not enough classes in the early mornings. Has gotten to be very busy. No longer worth the steep price for what is supposed to be a higher-end gym.
Positive experience: 4 starts for new sauna but showers rooms are still gross with larva crawling around.
Negative experience: Leaving the club to a more practical gym and system. Good classes are always fully booked, requires too much attention and energy just to book a class. Most instructors treat members as jk kids.
Positive experience: My husband and I have been members for almost a year and I was recommending this club to my friends. However, their recent decision to close playrooms at all locations makes it impossible for us to continue attending this gym. The staff at movati burlington playroom was beyond excellent, it was always in full attendance (sometimes it was even hard to get a spot at the room). Maybe some other locations do not need the playroom, that's understandable. But this particular club is in Burlington (Milcroft/Orchard area) which are predominantly family neighborhoods, its all families with children who live here. I'm not sure movati executives understand well who their target audience is for this club. Also if it was the revenue issue, they could have just raised the playroom fees and I'm sure families would be okay to pay more. I can't say enough of how excersise was instrumental for our family's mental and physical health. It'll be completely inaccessible for us staring November. Also, now there is no difference between Movati or LA fitness or Goodlife which are all 5 min drive from each other.
Negative experience: Overpriced and busy. Machines are outdated. Everyday there’s a class in the universal pool so you can’t use the pool or sauna. 1 day late over a 10 day date as a new customer and you only care about money. Invaluable customer, but you only care about money. Money grabbing gym. Thanks for no help!
Fantastic experience: I love it here! Movati is like no other gym. It’s such a warm and welcoming place. The staff are extremely welcoming, kind, knowledgeable, and helpful (especially Alexis!!). They offer classes pretty much non-stop, and they’re all different, so if you’re like me and don’t like working out alone, you can just stick to the classes and still have a well-rounded exercise routine. The instructors are top-notch (especially Lourdes, Sheryl, Marianne, and John!!... but so many others too). They make workouts fun and accessible to people of all fitness levels. They motivate you without shaming you into pushing yourself past your limit. There are also great meditation and restorative classes that help you relax and slow down. The facilities are ALWAYS spotless and the equipment is well-maintained. There’s also a nice community vibe. I love that the staff know me and greet me by name. I have even made good friends at Movati, which I really value because it’s hard to make friends as an adult. I joined about a year ago with the goal of losing weight. I love this place so much that I have been coming every day for the past year, and so far I have lost 75 pounds. I feel so proud of myself and can honestly say I would never been able to do this without the amazing support of all the staff and instructors at Movati.
Fantastic experience: My fiance and I had a tour with Ethan and he was amazing! Addressed all of our questions and took his time explaining the contracts to us. Customer service is amazing and the gym was beautiful!
Fantastic experience: great gym environment and lovely staff! always welcomed with a smile especially from kendall, ty and mariah staff also give great smoothie recommendations with alternatives for extra protein ️
Fantastic experience: Was a great experience and Ash made me feel so welcomed and really sold the gym membership . After my first day I would definitely recommend!
