Expérience négative: I visited Platinum Athletic Club after hearing great things from friends, but left very disappointed due to the poor customer service. Around 7:00 PM today, I found the receptionist—a slim brown guy—did not stand to greet us or take the time to explain the gym's plans and packages thoroughly. Despite mentioning that we couldn't understand him, he remained seated and didn't offer us a tour of the gym. Unlike other gyms I've visited, there was no offer of a free 1-day trial, which I found surprising. The receptionist seemed uninterested in providing any assistance or service. As a result, you lost 3 potential customers, as we were genuinely interested in joining. I urge the management to address this issue with the staff. While the gym facilities looked impressive, I'm hesitant to return to a place where the employees lack basic customer service manners.

Expérience fantastique: I don't know why people have put so many bad reviews about the management and the staff The moment I stepped inside the gym, I felt like home The staff member named Sahil is one of the kindest people I've met in the gym I once lost my airpods he himself searched all the gym with me and helped me find the airpods, another time I told him I was going through financial trouble and was not able to afford to personal trainer for my bodybuilding goals he offered to train me without any hesitation and genuine and pure person, nice attitude and helpful. The gym itself is spacious and very well. i train at 1 am. in the morning, usually training for 2 to 3 hours and sahil is there always helping me. Overall, I'm happy to pay 63 dollars a month, and I love it.

Expérience négative: Manager (some Fijian lady) had a cheap beggar mentality. I used their gym once and forgot to cancel my trial. Months later I get a $300 bill saying I owe them money. Haven't paid it to this day and my credits never been better. This was a while ago.

Expérience négative: Best way of looting people with their policies. If you want to cancel membership then 30 days notice actually doesn’t matter. These guys will ask you to pay for the next month too . If your payment date is 1st of the month and your 30 days notice goes to 2nd of the month then they will charge you for that months also. So my recommendation not to go here.

Expérience fantastique: After going to different gyms to see which one is good I give this one 5 stars. It has great equipment, it’s very spacious and clean. The staff is very knowledgable about the machines, are very polite and helpful. Management goes above and beyond to keep their clients happy and the business running smoothly. The owner Romi If you ask, will give you helpful tips, he is a wealth of knowledge since he’s been in the fitness industry for many years.

Expérience négative: Was a long time client of this gym. The manager/HR person really needs to be educated on how to talk to members. If you come to them with concerns or feedback, you’re told off and put down as if you’re the problem. This gym has a sanitary problem, it’s never clean! The machines regularly jam and are not maintained. 1/3 of the cardio equipment work sometimes they shut down without warning. The new owner of the gym is great, however, his management team is a total dud.

The majority of our members are happy with our services. However, we meet with those who are unhappy to discuss the issues in detail. I am very open to speak to all members about staff and club issues, please e-mail me at [email protected]. Regarding sanitary issues, the gym is cleaned professionally every night but please send me an e-mail to discuss this further. Currently we have three treadmills that are turned off and awaiting repairs (parts are backordered) but we have 9 fully operational treadmills. We added three new stair machines last year and we are looking to add more cardio equipment.

Expérience négative: I am reluctant to give this gym 1 star. I had a membership with them but was unable to continue with the contract due to their treatment of their customers/clients. This gym struggles to maintain ethical business practices. Their management team is unkind, and not inclusive to all people. Their trainers post discriminatory comments on their social media associated with platinum athletic club. Their management team does not follow ethical guidelines set out by the better business bureau. Additionally, I was charged unknown fees to my account and when I attempted to address this with the owners and management team, they refused to call, email, or meet with me.

Expérience fantastique: One person from Saskatchewan that joined the gym told it has to be in the top 5 bodybuilder's gym in Canada or top 3 bodybuilder's gym in western Canada. It is has brightest lighting and large of of mirrors Ive ever seen. This is great for bodybuilders to see their form, pose and flex to evaluate their muscular pump and development. It used to be serious bodybuilder's gym but now caters to all demographics so everyone is welcome. It is certain members that might make the gym enviornment a bit tense. Just be professional, dont drop, slam weights and equipment, let others work in, put your weights away, etc. The huge space, vast amount of equipments, high ceilings makes it great social space to be in. You never have to wait for a machine or station as there is so many to choose from and divert to another equipment or machine if something you want is currently occupied. It is gym has 'best bodies" around.

Expérience négative: If I could I would give zero stars. This place has poor business practices. I closed my account back in 2020 and paid in cash. Three years later in 2023 they called me to tell me I did not pay the balance and threatened me they are sending me to collections. When I tried to tell them I have paid, the staff and management kept arguing with me. Since this is from three years ago I did not keep a receipt and since it’s cash I couldn’t provide proof. The manager, Jasmin, bullies customers by threatening them by calling collections. I decided to repay the same bill since it was a small amount and so I wouldn’t have to deal with her. After the first phone conversation with her I knew it was pointless talking to her as she does not listen to her customers when they are speaking. She made it difficult for me to complete paying off the balance as she would not allow her staff to provide a statement of my account balance being zero even after repaying the same bill. I went there 4 times to get this resolved. I had to take a current paying member with me for them to allow me to get proof the account was paid off. The manager does not know how to talk to people and is unprofessional. The staff is rude and unwilling to help. I called the owner several times and left messages. He did not respond or ever call back. If someone pays them there is no reason they shouldn’t be able to provide a statement showing their account has a zero balance. Overall I felt really bullied by their manager, which was very disappointing as I was a loyal member for over 10 years.

Expérience négative: Dear Platinum Gym Management, I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with my recent experience at your gym. I used to go to Platinum during Covid, but recently switched to gyms. I was considering joining Platinum again because it is conveniently located just 5 minutes from my house. However, my visit today left a negative impression and has discouraged me from considering membership. Firstly, I was trying to find the Platinum website to purchase a day pass, which most gyms offer for non-members to try out the facilities before committing to a membership. I wanted to visit and see if I still enjoy the vibe there. When I arrived at the gym, I was told that the drop-in fee was $25, which was fine with me I was ready to pay. However, I then had a very unprofessional interaction with the front desk staff member, who was tall with curly hair and was wearing a hat. It took him 20 minutes to sign me in, and then his payment machine wouldn't start. When I asked if I could pay on my way out, he was hesitant. I was getting frustrated because at this point my pre workout already kicked in, but tried to keep my cool. Another 5 minutes passed and the machine was still not working. I asked again if I could come back and pay at the end of my workout it seemed like he was unwilling to accommodate this request. So finally he took my driver's license as a deposit and let me through. During my workout, the same staff member came up to me and asked me to e-transfer the payment for my day pass. I found this to be extremely inconvenient and unprofessional to come disturb my workout. First of all it's important for a gym to have functioning payment systems in place to make it easy for customers to pay for their services and second don't hound down your members for payment in the midst of their workout. I thought it was extremely rude and inconsiderate of the members for the staff member to approach me during my workout to request payment considering you already had my driver's license as collateral, so I'm sure this payment could have waited until the end of my workout. I had to go home and bring cash to make the payment. In addition to the issues I experienced with the staff and payment systems, I was also disappointed with the quality of gym facilities. The machines and weights at platinum do not compare to what other gyms have, the weights are old and outdated. I used to remember Platinum as a fun and friendly gym with nice, considerate staff, but that was not my experience today. Based on my experience today, I would say avoid this gym at all costs. Expérience positive: I would start off with the people who write bad reviews for this gym. i feel that they have more personal problems of their own because i have not experienced such problems with platinum and had a great experience. The front desk is amazing both afternoon and evening, very friendly and helpful. The membership is on higher side but worth it because club 16 is quarter of this gym. One thing i had problem with is morning staff because sometime my work start at 9am and i go morning time around 7am and not very friendly greeting most of time and no employee at front for checking but otherwise great gym.

Expérience négative: The customer service at the gym is horrible and the amount of membership fees they charge to maintain the equipment goes to what they want to add to the gym not fix any issues. After reading some of these reviews I see that they have been telling people to leave the gym if they don’t like it so unprofessional. Some of the highest fees plus a annual maintenance fees over 4 years later and I’m still waiting for them to fix the sauna. Like most reviews I read the told me to leave and good luck with my fitness goals! Does this sound familiar I guess they don’t appreciate our business

Not only is the Staff rude the management is atrocious. now I have to keep contacting them or show up in person to figure this out and I’m not even going to get my money back.

Expérience négative: I loved this gym as I used to work out there solo and with a trainer for quite sometime. My son used to go with me, it became our second home. When the childcare portion closed I cancelled my membership as I could no longer use the facility. Recently I got a call from a collection agency stated I had an outstanding balance with them for over 100 dollars that goes back to 2019. Out of fear that this would hit my credit, I paid it. As someone who worked hard to get their credit in good standing I wasn't about to let something like this jeopardize that. Now reading all the comments about multiple other people having this same issue I feel naive. Naive in the fact that I paid it. I have recently emailed them in order to be provided statements and get confirmation of my payment. I'm not too sure what happened as this place used to be one of THE best facilities. I personally would not aquire a membership with them ever again and if one chooses to do so, be very careful.

Expérience négative: The gym itself is very good, but every single other thing about it is just horribly wrong. The employees are incredibly indifferent to anyone at all, and stand around chatting with friends instead of being vigilant and observant during their shift. I've also had the unfortunate luck to be one of the people they try to scam out of money, claiming to have unpaid gym dues when I cancelled my membership in person at the end of the 2019 and made sure i was paid up before I left. Seeing from the reviews, it's happened to a lot of people and I don't understand how new management thinks they can just make up charges for people who haven't even gone there in years, and expect them to pay it without trying to fight it.

Since company has now changed management they have been horrible, don’t know what they’re doing. This company deserves to be shut down for scamming so many people out of money. New owner is claiming that their systems were down and they didn’t know what people owed. Doesn’t make any sense, this guy is clearly a scammer. Beware when joining this gym.

Expérience négative: It's 2021 and I left that club in 2018. They just started harassing me over $61 they claim was still outstanding. When I left the club I went in and paid up everything in full. They admitted making no effort to contact me, apparently because of a change of ownership, and acknowledge they have no computer records of the debt. They claim the new ownership "found" all this new debt owed by former members. Its all very sketchy and unprofessional. My advice is to be very very careful signing contracts with this company and video record all conversations. At this point I may need to take legal action to stop this from continuing. I will pass any info onto the RCMP fraud department as I collect it. That's how strange and underhanded this whole "found" debt seems.

Expérience négative: It looks like the employees can act and do as they please but the members need to follow the rules. Their employees are very unprofessional and so is their management, they do not care about the members experience but rather just the money. They have an employee Amar Sandhu, kid goes around picking fights with the members, I heard he even got physical with a member and instead of the member being prioritized they banned the member and the Employee is still there harassing the members and looking for confrontations. Great equipment, needs to be a change in ownership. Romey Gill... this is not how to keep long time members. You've lost 5 in my friend circle alone. I'm sure there will be more to follow.

Expérience fantastique: Biggest most well equipped facility in the lower mainland. Bright lighting high ceilings lots of mirrors and friendly knowledgeable staff. Open 24h is the cherry ontop. What other gym has a posing room a seperate women's area turf space and stretching area? Exactly no other. Great place for beginners all the way to pro bodybuilders/,Powerlifters/strong man. Somthimg in the atmosphere that makes this place bring out your best. Try it for yourself u won't be disappointed!

Fraser Health notified us, on November 13th, of 42 positive COVID cases.  Those who tested positive visited the club between October 21 and November 6th. Fraser Health told us to expect an official letter with details for self isolation.  We are still waiting for this letter and will share as soon as we receive it. We closed voluntarily November 7th onward to ensure the safety of our members and staff.  We made the decision to close as soon as we learned of 10 potential exposures. Since then we have notified members who had visited the club during times of potential exposures. Anyone who has attended the club from October 21 to November 7 must self-isolate for 14 days from last attendance. Why did this happen? After many discussions with Health Authorities  it has come to our attention that some COVID positive patrons had attended the club while awaiting their test results. As a result we must continue with closures for the meanwhile. The club has been inspected by Fraser Health and we are working with them to strengthen our COVID-19 mitigation strategies. Fraser Health has provided us with a list of recommendations that they would like implemented.  We will remain temporarily closed until all recommendations are in place and  until a second inspection is conducted early next week. We will continue to keep everyone posted with updates as we receive them from Fraser Health.

Expérience négative: I would give no star if I could.... Extremely unprofessional gym. They were aware they had covid19 in the gym and decided its best to NOT tell members and even told us to not spread information regarding the covid19 exposure to other members. Management does not know what they are doing at all, they argue with people on their instagram account and turn off comments because they want to hide the truth. Gym is crowded with incompetent trainers on their high horse who brought covid to the gym in the first place, but Romi will cover that up for Genuine Athletics.

Expérience négative: Business owner is so full of his own ego and self that he doesnt check what his actions/words can mean to others and how they affect different communities. Learn to be more professional and less defensive when people are trying to educate you. Shame, and disappointing. Have let my circle know to cancel any further subscriptions if they have anything, and locate to the many other gyms that are located in surrey.

Expérience positive: The best gym in surrey imo.i've been going here for about 5 month and in that entire time no one asked me how many sets i have because they have more then enough equipment.

Expérience positive: In town for a visit and decided to get my workout in here. Huge gym, fairly well maintained. Not sure about memberships and all that. But has all the equipment you need for a proper strength workout.

Expérience négative: Cancelled my membership after 5+ years. Love this gym, will consider rejoining when they get rid of the new mafioso-wannabe trainers. These dudes have some serious small man complexes. Not a good vibe when trainers bump you off of machines mid-set, stare you down and have no regard for who they’re taking pictures of while taking hundreds of selfies. This used to be a serious gym with great equipment but now it’s overrun with douche bag trainers and guys who haven’t heard of personal hygiene.

Expérience négative: Gym’s hours are great and they have a great variety of machines. When machines break, however, they take a very long to get them fixed. The change rooms and washrooms at gym need a major facelift, they're outdated and constantly smell. Overall, the place doesn’t seem properly managed or maintained, since you pay a yearly fee and a high membership price; you wonder what the money is actually being used for.

Expérience négative: So far I've been here a week and I'm already going to be cancelling my membership. The gym etiquette is horrible, people are rude and the atmosphere is cold and depressing. I've never lost motivation to train in my life....until I came here. I literally have to force myself to go until I can find a more suitable option close to my home. Wouldn't recommend to anyone!

Expérience négative: If there was a negative star would have given it that. I joined the gym and then cancelled my membership. The gym however kept charging my credit card and also when the credit cards date expired and they could not pull in anymore money they claimed that I owed them money and claimed to collections. I never received a single phone call from them regarding this. I found out about this when I went to buy a new car. Complete scam if you ask me. Find a better gym. I am going to report this issue to every place possible. Also will take this issue to the authorities.

Expérience négative: Just did some renovations and the equipment is good. The walls could use a cleaning and some touch ups. Edit: weights are never organized anymore and staff always look like they aren't doing more than chatting. Manager used to always be on the floor now hes not. This place is starting to go down hill... also the protien shakes are nasty

Expérience positive: Overall i would give a 5 for the ambiance but a 3 star for the staff as I feel few of them at the registration desk are part-time as they were lacking the basic knowledge of registration.

Expérience fantastique: Great gym, the staff is very helpful and informative, it has all the machines you could think of available to use. The saunas are actually hot and for such a low price you get a great facility open practically all day.

Expérience positive: Had a membership for 4 years at this gym. Stopped going in 2015. Was a really good gym but went downhill when they got rid of their yearly contracts

Expérience négative: Rates are going up to $50+ per month... they are claiming to add more equipment but its all a scam. Plus absolutely no parking for a gym this size. Much better gyms in the area for a better price. $15 price increase....no thanks... say goodbye to a 15 yr member. Nash is much better value.
