Expérience négative: The gym is a total write off, I almost feel bad for the staff, because they’re probably the ones dealing with the upset customers when it’s clearly management not doing a damn thing to fix it, look at the other reviews, they haven’t had a positive review since 3 years ago. Apparently they’ve had parts for the hydro massage beds on “back order” for 4 years now. The stair master is essentially permanently shut down, don’t even get me started on the bathrooms, the place is in absolute disarray. Crunch needs to temporarily shut down this location, contact TPG about receiving a loan, fix absolutely everything, then do a grand re-opening for this location.

Expérience négative: What's the point in having a phone if you won't pick up! Pick up your phone so I can cancel my membership instead of getting charged 5x more than what the membership cost! I don't live in the city anymore and don't want to travel 3 and a half hours just to talk to your lazy staff!

Expérience négative: Gym is OK and there is enough variety to get a decent workout in. However, if the location of the gym wasn’t the most convenient for me I’d be looking elsewhere. I’ve now shown up three times (around opening) to have no staff there to open the gym. This is completely unacceptable. The womens washroom is disgusting and half of the stalls have been sitting in the repair stage for months.

Expérience négative: Half the lights only ever work, lots of equipment in disrepair, or not working st all. No classes, even though the membership includes classes. Very ghetto.

Expérience négative: Never give them your contact info! I have been asking for FIVE YEARS for Crunch to stop emailing me! I have unsubscribed, I have called both the local location and corporate, I have emailed, nothing works. They won't stop emailing! I have reported them to the CRTC under the anti spam laws. Maybe this negative review will finally get them to stop!

Expérience négative: extremely unprofessional, once you sign up oh don’t worry you’re in it for the long run! even after you’ve cancelled your membership a year later you will still be getting charged! isn’t that amazing and of course no one ever answers the phones, if my friend doesn’t get their refund of $179.44 shame on you!

Expérience positive: Attended a few times. Staff are nice. Equipment quality is okay. Wish they had classes for working out at this location like the other gyms have.

Expérience négative: Multiple machines need to be reupholstered. Multiple lights need to be fixed. 2of 3 sinks in men's change room are out of order along with 2 of 4 urinals and a toilet stall door is broken off and just left leaning against the inside of the stall.

Expérience négative: Had 5 stars on here since 2016. But have to lower the rating. Lately the equipment is getting more and more destroyed and the hours are getting shorter. Already frustrated that they’re only open to 10 on weekdays and 5 on weekends (like come on) now they’re reducing it to 8pm on weekdays. Been away for a couple months with injuries and come back and the first 2 pieces of equipment I go to look like the following: (padding all torn and rubber grips completely gone from all handles)

Expérience négative: This gym is not at all what it used to be.. I have been dealing with an issue with this Crunch Fitness Orillia since the beginning of May, they are HORRIBLE at getting back to their customers.. I have been a member there for over 11 years..so much for caring about your customers! They promise to look into the issue each and every time with a reply of “I’ll get back to you”.. not once have they called me back! Take my advice and RUN as fast as you can to another gym that cares about their patrons!

Expérience négative: Change rooms are brutal. Moldy, gross shower curtains for “partitions”. One toilet stall door has been off its hinges for months now. The other stall is never clean. Much of the equipment has duct tape on it. Missing a barbell from one of five stations. Cheap replacement but just not done. Price is dirty cheap but get what you pay for.

Expérience négative: Good luck trying to cancel your membership, or have them stop charging you, months down the line. I had read other reviews about this and dismissed it, however, this is now what I am dealing with also! Staff cannot communicate, nobody knows what is actually going on, I am told one thing and then am charged AGAIN, or I never hear from anyone. I haven’t stepped foot in that gym since May last year and yet I’m STILL paying AWFUL! Go anywhere else where they won’t lie to you and steal months down the road!

Expérience positive: Good equipment and central location. Showers need some looking after: drains are clogged with hair, the curtains are hanging from the ceiling in violation of the fire code(!) and the shower heads are heavily crusted with scale. The parking lot needs better winter maintenance.

Expérience positive: Very out dated equipment but best bang for your buck... I came here over six years ago ran under a different name... same shower curtains.. same equipment breaking down... lies about child care... but cheapest gym in orillia.

Expérience positive: Joined with gym for a month to attend facility's but the hours did not meet my needs. Cancaled the membership well in advance 31 days but I was billed a mataince fee when I was assured by staff no fees would-be charged if there as to come see them and they could fix it. Fast forward to a large almost 60 dollar charge on my card. So I called the orillia branch where this occurred and spoke to the manager. He claimed the matiance fee that should of never been charged was my final payment when though I had just done a full mouth of service already. Despite all the promises from his staff he refused to process a refund and said it would be denied by the higher ups. After much argument he said he would send the request, but now three days later still no refund, no email wrost service ever, would not reccomand crunch gym, so far poor sales tactics and poor anti consumer policies that make it so refunds are all but impossible stay far away UPDATE Tray the manager followed up with me and a credit/refund was processed. Still not impressed with the lack of communication and the poor hours but at least they made things right, and that means something in todays society.

Expérience fantastique: Great gym, Has a Large variety of free weights , strength training equipment, cardio equipment and even a great heavy bag !! The front desk staff went above and beyond to be helpful. Thank you Only thing would change is larger bench in men's changeroom however still give it 5 stars as bench to sit on is least needed thing in a gym , just a suggestion!! Staff and gym are awesome highly recommend!!

Expérience négative: I was stabbed in the back by one of the staff members over something silly and was treated like a monster as a result. The staff lied to get me in trouble, they should be ashamed, disgusted and downright embarrassed by the way I was treated. The nasty things said about me from the gym were unfair and I did nothing to deserve this treatment and that's why I'm leaving. Would not recommend, not worth the low price!

Expérience négative: Good range of equipment and friendly/helpful staff. However some machines it seems have been broken for some time now waiting on repair. Also there is no excuse for how nasty the bathrooms are, if there isn’t enough staff on duty then hire a cleaner 1-2 times a week. It also doesn’t help that the only place to fill up water is the washroom sink.

It's helped me to get back from three heart episodes. Sometimes starting At the beginning again homes you the opportunity to feel comfortable knowing in time you will rock again. Expérience négative: I purposely started an account without a contract in case I didn't use the facilities enough, and when I called to cancel They told me that I wouldn't be charged again . In short I was charged 2 more times And I was told I would get a refund. I have still not received the refund I was promised and it's been almost a year. Do not go to this gym if you don't need to. All they want is your money and they do not ever hold up their end of the bargain.

Expérience positive: Pretty good gym for the price, fairly spacious but really dark inside. Bathrooms could use work (they’re pretty dingy, especially the faucets). Good selection of equipment and everyone follows the COVID rules for the most part. Front desk staff always friendly and helpful!

Expérience positive: Decent gym lots of equipment. Can get very busy especially with reduced hours. Staff are laid back not actively on the floor encouraging social distancing. Could improve in some places but, it is more affordable than other places and decent atmosphere

Expérience positive: The place is decent at best. Need some new equipment in there for sure. A real pad for the camber bar for example more camber bars and newer handles for pull down work....another squat rack....glute ham stuff. There's really no excuse for the complacency, some staff are great, others, are there for them....not you. And its easy to sense that.

Expérience positive: Good space, the equipment could use some updating though, especially when it comes to the cable machines. I know "if it ain't broken don't fix it" but I would like to see some more investment into this great area.

Expérience positive: Crunch fitness in Orillia is doing a great job with safety protocols during the pandemic. Suggesting Uniquely designed 'mingle masks' (available there or on Amazon) allows for better breathing while working out too. Wasn't looking forward to cardio with my usual mask. Pre sanitized bottles for spraying down equipment, one for every person.

Expérience négative: Tried to cancel my membership about a year ago but the person behind the desk didn't do it properly. So when I thought it was cancelled it was still charging me for a full years membership when I wasn't even using it but when I told him about the situation, they said that my card was in use when I was in another province for a year! Then they proceed to tell me my card wasn't stolen and then it's my fault for not cancelling it. I wanted to get my money back but they refused to give it to me and said I have to pay it out even thought I was with the gym for 2 year! Plus staff is completely rude and the place is really sketchy. Wouldn't ever recommended this place to anyone !

Expérience négative: Not sure how long it takes to fix equipment but three years later the leg curl machine is still broken, the dip machine is still broken. I love the environment and the workers at the gym but things like shotty equipment quality in a Canada wide franchise bother me. When asking workers when they will be fix they just laugh. They clearly have done what they can do but the franchise won't do it's do diligence. The bulbs in the the tanning bed also haven't been serviced in years... The gym is definitely not up to franchise standards. I bought a new membership else where because of these issues!

Expérience négative: The gym itself isn''t horrible, but the service and membership is such a scam. I had been trying to cancel my membership for months, back and forth with head office, and after ridiculous charges on my credit card they said they couldn't do anything for me, that it was my own fault. Also, they don't notify you of when your membership renews! Definitely going to planet fitness now :)

Expérience négative: Service at the gym is adequate, especially for the cost. Just pray you dont have trouble and have to call head office, the customer service is horrendous. When they improperly charged me upon cancelling my membership, the said there was nothing they could do and the "system" was to blame.

Expérience positive: Fantastic facility filled with all the equipment you need and a great community inside the gym. I really like that it has doesnt have that typical "commercial gym feel".

Well that was a lie. Because they changed that shortly after and I usually go to Barrie world gym. Now you can't you are forced to only go to crunch.

Expérience positive: I used the gym when it was just world gym during the day before peak hours and it's great Maintained equipment and good selection For $10 a month basic package I'm happy

Expérience positive: I believe in giving credit where credit is due so I will start by saying the employees are amazing. The gym itself offers adequate machines and free weights to achieve personal fitness goals and the additional classes are commensurate with its size and location. Equipment repairs can take prolonged periods of time which occasionally prompts me to seriously consider saving the $316.26 and working out at my workplace gym for free. Pick your times to go and you can avoid waiting for equipment. Overall a decent gym.

Expérience positive: Joined the second week of April 2018 The gym is pretty clean and the equipment is in very good condition. Noticed one piece of equipment out of order last week and this week it is fixed and working. Lots of cardio machines and weight lifting gear, could easily accommodate over 100 people at a time. They offer an assortment of classes that are all included in the monthly fees. One guest can come in with each member and use the weight area free. Overall a great deal.

Expérience fantastique: I have also been to many gyms, I trained at genesis, world, and crunch since here in orillia. Amanda at the front desk is really nice each day. The equipment all works great, there is never a shortage of 45 plates. I feel the gym is as clean as any, it's not brand new, so the change rooms don't look like your at la fitness, but I feel are clean and get the job done. This gym is exactly what you need to get in shape, a real gym not a social club. Sign up I love it here!!!

Expérience négative: This place is very filthy over half the benches in the place are covered in tape to seal the cracks very unsanitary. The showers are covered in mould and black slime. Not a very nice place to work out in. I don't recommend this place. TRULY!!

Expérience positive: I've been going here for about a year. I don't use the showers, and I only briefly use the change room. If it is very busy, it becomes very crowded due to its size. There is a good selection of equipment, and I've always found the staff to be friendly. My main suggestion would be to give members a sticker for their car, so that the parking spaces for world gym are used by members and not the public trying to save money in a paid parking lot. I've seen lots of people park in our spots just to go shopping. this is especially frustrating when there are no spots, and you have to pay to go to the gym. Other than that I have no other complaints.

Expérience négative: When I joined they told me they were going to be renovating the change rooms within months. This was one of their "selling" points. This was over a year ago and this has not been done. I'm switching back to my old fitness club, and was just told I need to provide 60 days written notice to cancel my membership. This is ludicrous, there is absolutely no reason to charge people for 2 extra months upon cancellation. I understand a notice period, but 60 days is ridiculous. The best thing about this club was the child care - well done Jess. Sadly, the grimy and small change rooms, dirty showers, and small number of classes do not make up for it.

Expérience fantastique: The staff always greet you with a smile when you come in, there is a variety of equipment, all of which are in good shape. Change rooms are fine for a gym, it's not supposed to be a 5 star spa. My only complaint are the weekend hours, but the staff work hard in there and for 11$ a month I'm happy to call myself a member.

Expérience négative: World Gym is Orillia is barely a gym. The staff sit behind the desk and do nothing. Paper towels are rarely filled, the men's bathroom is typically a mess, the showers are currently made out of curtains hangings from their drop ceilings, its pretty sketchy. Their toilet areas are always a disaster zone, and there garbage everywhere. Now, when World's Gym 'opened' back about 8 months ago, they advertised tanning, hydro massage, smoothie bar, and fitness classes. The typical things every World's has. They charge $10 for a regular membership, which is just use of weight equipment. Their black memberships, which they charge $20 a month for, includes kid's world use, hydro massage, tanning, and all the other stuff 'free'. Kid's world took a couple months to get up, the new equipment took them 4 months to get. Hydro massage was put up 2 weeks ago, and the tanning is currently there, but not able to use. That means they advertised to all the people to get these black memberships for $20, been charging all these people $20 a month, and not giving them everything that they're paying for. That is incredibly immoral of a business. People would be upset if they bought a car that included winter tires, but the dealership didn't give them to you till 10 months later. This is my biggest complaint of World's its a horrible business model, and I don't think many people have noticed. While they're 3-4 employees barely put equipment away, the gym is usually a mess, unless the night guy was working. There are weights everywhere and things left all over the equipment, it just looks horrible. Also, World's Gym does have wifi, for their lazy ass employees, and not their paying customers whom they screw over on a daily basis. If you've read my review so far, you're probably thinking I'm just one upset customer. It's true, i am. I'm not getting what I paid for, and what I do pay for goes towards employees who do nothing. Stay away from this place and go to Fit4less. PS. all those photos they post on Instagram and Facebook, it's not even what their gym looks like. Stop using stock photos and lieingeven more, show the people what the place really looks like, the crowded nightmare that its become since genesis left.
