Expérience fantastique: It's been 3 weeks since I joined this Gym and I have always been greeted with kind and friendly faces. I was feeling a bit hesitant to join at first but my onboarding Emma Cole was wonderful, kind and she made me feel super comfortable and motivated me to give it a shot. There's a variety of equipment and it's always neat and tidy. I think this location was perfect for me and I am looking forward to improve myself by training here :')

Expérience fantastique: I’ve been coming to this gym for close to 3 years, it’s by far the best gym I’ve been to and it’s all driven by the exceptionally friendly staff. From the bake sales to the powerlifting competitions, this gym never fails to make you feel like you’re part of a caring community. Paulo is a very knowledgeable personal trainer with extensive expertise and certifications. Nicole is a very friendly, very personable front desk worker who always made me feel welcomed and respected. Ritchie is an awesome front desk worker with a great sense of humour and an inviting aura. James is another fantastic personal trainer with an authentic personality and fancy calisthenics. I highly recommend this gym! You’ll find yourself coming to use the equipment but staying for the people.

Expérience négative: I visited this morning, and unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The front desk lady of asian ethnicity was quite rude. When I walked in, I wasn’t greeted or acknowledged at all. Customer service is key, and it felt like it was completely missing today. I hope they improve and hire new staff to solve this.

Expérience négative: I’m new to this area, and I’ve had a GoodLife membership for years, always enjoying my visits until this week. On Monday, August 12th, I came in and was not greeted by the girl at the front desk, who looked miserable. When people came in, she walked away. After my workout, I approached the desk to ask for a towel and stood waiting for about 2-4 minutes until she finally looked in my direction, acknowledged me, and rudely said, ‘Can I help you.’ It wasn’t a question but rather a rude statement filled with attitude. I asked for my towel, and she then rolled her eyes at me and handed it to me silently. The girl had black hair and appeared to be of Asian descent. Most gyms I’ve been to have staff who greet you when you walk in, smile, and acknowledge you when you need something, but this was not the case here. Unfortunately, I decided to give it another try on the following Tuesday, only to encounter the same girl at the desk with the same attitude and look of disgust on her face. It’s very unpleasant to walk into an atmosphere that promotes caring for members and treating each other with kindness, yet the staff seems to lack these qualities.

Expérience fantastique: I've personally never liked the vibe of a gym, until I came to this location. The staff and the people attending the gym here are awesome! I signed up for 12 months with a personal trainer and I still have a difficult time listing off all the benefits. I wouldn't be making the strides in progress if it weren't for Paulo. He's very detail oriented, knowledgeable, understanding, patient, and helpful in so many ways. It's already been a great few months, looking forward to the continued progress. Expérience fantastique: I joined GoodLife and have only praise to give the club. The signup process was smooth. Specifically, associates Emma and David were successful in making my experience enjoyable. Emma was very friendly, cooperative, and overall welcoming throughout the signup process. Further, I had the opportunity to have a personal training session with David, and his advice and assistance has helped improve my training immensely. I would recommend this gym to anyone who is seeking a fitness journey.

Expérience positive: Good gym, well maintained. Should invest in different equipment such as calisthenics and bodyweight. Not 24/7 like many GoodLife locations which is a big disadvantage, and closes early on weekends. Would be a big advantage if considered 24/7 similar to Taunton & Westney.

Expérience fantastique: I adore my sessions with Paulo. This is my second time with him in 2 years. The 1st time he helped me with my left shoulder weakness and improved my upper and lower body strength and balance. This time we are working on full body strength to help me lift and carry my kids, it’s been 2 months now and i easily carry my kids around. He makes working out interesting as well as challenging. He has a lot of knowledge and makes you believe in yourself that you can do more than what you think. I would recommend Paulo in a heartbeat

Expérience fantastique: I signed up at this gym at the end of 2022 and it has been the best and most fulfilling experience I had with a gym. I had a 1 week session with one of their trainers Paulo, which turned into a year because of how much fun I was having and how much I was improving. The gym is always clean and all of the staff and gym goers are kind and friendly. If you pass by this gym you wont regret it, and say hi to Paulo for me.

However, I find that the current closing time doesn't always align with my schedule. I believe extending the closing hours would benefit many members, especially those with busy lifestyles. It would be fantastic to have the option to work out later in the evening. Thank you for considering this feedback!

Expérience fantastique: I would like to give an awesome review to Mike and Kim who teaches together at Goodlife Ajax on Mondays 8pm to 9pm. Zumba is my most favourite class and Mike and Kim are my most favourite instructors. I live in Scarborough and I would make a special trip to go to Ajax to attend their class. Their playlist is amazing as they play different genre which accommodates all participants regardless of what culture you came from. They can dance to any kind of music and they make us feel like we can also do the same. I hope Mike and Kim get to teach as long as they can as they are one of the reasons why I continue to stay as a member of Goodlife. As long as Goodlife keeps them teaching, I intend to keep my membership as I know they are worth it!

Expérience négative: If I could give this place a 0 I would however unfortunately this location gets a 1 star. The staff at this location are weirdly aggressive, rude, and clueless (specifically Nick). Nonetheless the actual gym itself is immensely overpriced for the amenities available, the layout is confusing and garbage, and the place just feels gloomy and boring. I’d never recommend this location to anyone nor will I ever even consider getting a goodlife membership anywhere else in Durham due to the horrible taste this location left in my mouth.

Expérience fantastique: I’ve been attending to Michael and Kim’s Zumba class for a decade. Absolutely loved their class so much fun lovely instructors and cant wait to return. If you’re looking for a fun class, up to date with an amazing fun Zumba workout, this is the place to go! The workout, music and dance routines are amazing. The excitement and great energy is felt in every one of their classes, encouraging and motivating. Their classes are an addiction. ❤️❤️

Clean, friendly staff with amazing group fitness trainers that really know their stuff who will motivate you to push yourself that little extra to see real change. Rhoda is a Body Pump & Step rockstar, Helen is deeply passontate about Body Attack and Vageesan will give you a spin experience you never thought you'd achieve. This is my favourite GoodLife in Durham Region. I lost 80lbs and got fit going to this gym's group fitness classes over the past 2 years and continue too.

Expérience fantastique: The gym has the most amazing zumba classes on Monday evenings with Mike and Kim. This duo is absolutely incredible- such passionate and dedicated zumba dancers, with a very unique style - the best zumba instructors out there. They always dance together and they compliment each other's style so nicely. Each class is like a show. Yet they make you feel so welcome that anyone at any level is having a blast at their class. I hope they never leave GL, otherwise I'll have to follow!

Expérience positive: Good gym with plenty of parking. Usually come here in the mornings and never that busy. 2 deadlift/squat platforms and 1 power rack with a Tbar attachment. So a good amount of equipment for leg and back day. Large free dumbbell area and good selection of cable machines. Wished they had trap bars available to use.

Expérience positive: Great gym, clean, friendly staff. Michael at the front desk in particular is just the best. Unfortunately I have to reduce what would normally be 5 stars to 3 because they have this person who is always there with blue hair, I believe it may be a mascot of sorts. Anyway, it’s such a nuisance bothering every single person there, running around touching and talking to everyone and when it’s talking it sounds like a motivational YouTube video featuring the Rock on a loop.

Expérience fantastique: I love the place. I went in a few months back to pickup a membership to head to the gym with a friend. I had one a long time ago, prior to heading in I did a bit of research and when I got there I spoke with Nick when going over the membership options. While not having been to the gym in a long time and frankly wanting to get into weights and having no clue we spoke about the personal trainers which I ended up taking up on an getting paired with Jopert for a sort of introduction. As I knew my general fitness wasn't fantastic and from it, I decided to stay with Jopert. He helped me setup a reasonable meal plan and even with my lack of ideas for goals helped put some goals to hit, working within the bounds of what I am able to do. I have come a long way and have gained a decent amount of muscle and improved my BF %. Most of the staff here are pretty friendly, only downside I would say is how busy it gets at times during the summer with all the kids but honestly its better then most things they could be doing. If your looking for a trainer who is willing to work within your abilities and help you get to your goals, definitely recommend Jopert.

Expérience fantastique: I have been going to this gym since October 2022. First time being at a gym. Edan was the staff member who helped with registering process. She was super friendly, supportive, none judgmental, helpful and kind. She helped me by introducing me to my current fitness instructor, Paulo. He is an amazing, patient, knowledgeable, supportive trainer who challenges you and encourages you to succeed. The staff at the front desk are super friendly. If they are at the desk, they always welcome you when you enter and say goodbye when you leave.

Expérience négative: The manager Julian at this ajax location is very unprofessional. Today I had a very unpleasant experience. I had spiled some water on my clothes accidentally and asked her for a towel and she refused to give one . I didn't know that I didn't have towel services as I just joined the club recently. It was my first time getting a towel from her. She kept on pushing me to add the towels services right now. I asked that when I come out of the change room I will add it. But she still refuses to give me 1 towel after begging and requesting politely several times. She finally gives me the towel. I honestly think it should be brought to someone attention so it doesn't happen to anyone else.
Expérience négative: The worse location with the worse costumer service. i have canceled my membership with this location but i still got charged. i called the club to see why is this. first of all, i spoke to Michael ( not professional at all ) and he was not sure about how to solve this kind of issues so i believe he wasn't trained enough to take the position. After a long conversation he said someone from the management will contact me but of course no body did. poor quality, not professional and very poor communication.

Expérience fantastique: Follow Public Health Guidelines to the tee. See staff cleaning often and gym goers are expected to wipe their own machines/equipment after their use. A no judgment crowd in my experience. See lots of novice as well folks that have been training for years. Friendly staff.

Expérience fantastique: This is a life changing place for me and people here are amazing .. i signed up for a started package PT together with annual membership .. to start with Sachin who helped me with registration is an amazing worker here who did a fantastic job of finding out my goals and helped me sign up for a right program .. secondly Darian who is the manager as well is a powerful personality .. he is truly a guy who can make you achieve your goals provided you have the time and money and commitment for it. Marvin is also a great trainer here and does a decent job in motivating you .. staff at the front desk is also courteous and friendly.. they may be pushy at times but at the end its your decision and they always respect it so give them a try.. if you've been thinking to sign up this is the time. All the best!

Expérience fantastique: I have been training at this gym over the past 3 years and I have to say this place literally changed my life. I always call it my second home, the equipment is great, the place is kept immaculate, it’s always clean, and the staff and trainers are super friendly. They are like family to each other so it’s a very upbeat and fun atmosphere. Recently I had started training sessions with Darien, and after only a few months even with lockdowns I underwent a full transformation. He has helped me build so much muscle and slim down in all the right areas without loosing my curves. I have reached all new heights through my training with him. I Performed a 302 pound deadlift during one of my sessions and I never imagined I could lift so much. I had a goal body in mind and he has helped me achieve it so quickly. Darien has also helped me work on my anxiety which has caused me to get into some really bad dieting habits and I have really improved in that sense as well. He has been an amazing PT for myself and my husband, who also has a severe back injury and has been recovering and strength training under Darien’s supervision. Needless to say I highly highly recommend this Goodlife, and PT sessions if your interested in transforming your body, hitting new goals in your strength training, working your physical health, or just weight loss in general. This gym really does have the absolute best PT Team.

Expérience fantastique: If you want amazing customer service and a wide selection of weights and machines including hammer strength, a large yoga room with a no judgement atmosphere than talk to the general manager Nicole . She provided me with excellent interpersonal skills and professionalism because of her understanding of my needs and wants that i was looking for in a gym. I highly recommend to get the membership that you will have access to any goodlife gym. I am a big believer in customer service and that is why i chose this gym to start my goodlife membership .

Expérience fantastique: I come to this gym for cardio and weights. No issues with staff or equipment as I usually just keep to myself during the workout. Covid protocols are followed pretty well here and I feel safe when working out.

Expérience fantastique: My experience at this Goodlife has exceeded expectations. The trainers embody a holistic training approach and have worked with me to surpass my training goals. The front desk staff are friendly and energetic, which really helps me get into a positive mindset before my lift. Since COVID-19 I was apprehensive about joining a gym, but walking into the Rossland and Salem location and seeing how closely the staff have listened to public health and safety recommendations, has changed my mind. I'm really happy with my decision to join this gym!

Expérience négative: I'm a Goodlife member before the pandemic and I just cancelled it when the pandemic strikes. Now in September of 2021 I came back and enrolled again. Goodlife is a clean and spacious place to workout. The only thing that I don't like was one of their employee in the customer service. She said that Goodlife cannot charge my card for my bi weekly payment so they charged me a penalty. I called my bank right away and there was no hold in my account. It means any pre authorized transactions made by me are accepted. The employee told me that the only solution to this is to pay my penalty and cancel my membership. I am appealing to the CEO of Goodlife, if you have this kind of employee in your company, your gym will be closed in a few months cause any issues that this employee may encounter, I am sure she will tell the gym members to cancel their membership. Please Mr. David Evans the CEO of Goodlife, keep an eye on your Gym in Ajax in Roosland rd.

Expérience négative: Hands down the worst Goodlife in all of Durham Region. The front desk staff are extremely rude and unprofessional. The personal trainers are out of shape know it all’s that are very pushy and aggressive when it comes to making a sale. The general manager is a good guy, I don’t know how he works with these people. If it wasn’t for Covid limiting every gym to 10 people I would never step foot in here
Expérience fantastique: Since covid restrictions have been loosened and most amenities at GoodLife are available again I decided to go back. I went to this location for the first time as they have a hot yoga studio and my usual location has not reopened their studio yet. The gym is pretty standard and clean plus the hot yoga studio is a bonus. However, the staff at this location is what makes it a great gym and not just a standard one. I was greeted at the front desk by friendly staff and then introduced to Richie. I let him know that I had never been to this particular location before so I was unsure of where I was going. He was very polite and helpful and gave me a tour of the gym so I would know where every thing is. He made me feel very comfortable and like he was welcoming me as a guest into his home. He told me if I had anymore questions at all to come find him and he’d give me a hand which I appreciated. I am not a first time gym goer but it can be intimating for some people to enter a new gym and how the staff treats new comers can really make an impact on weather or not someone returns. Richie is the kind of guy that would make the gym less intimating to new comers and I think if everyone had an experience with someone like Richie the first time they walked into a gym, they’d be likely to return. Thanks for being a great host and so helpful.

Expérience fantastique: I've been attending Michael and Kim's Zumba classes for couples years at GoodLife Victoria Terrace. In July/2021 they've started a new class at GoodLife Ajax Rossland/Salem and I started participating there too. I live and work in Toronto, North York area but every Monday I drive to Ajax exclusively to go to their classes. Their classes have a very welcoming atmosphere, their energy is so uplifting and they are always open for feedbacks and song requests. Actually, they are the only reason why I reactivated my membership and was willing to try exercising at the gym again.

They are extremely safe during Covid reminding those not wearing a mask to place it on when walking around. Couldn’t be happier. I just wish the price of GoodLife was more reasonable for the amenities offered however that is a corporate issue not location reflected.

Expérience fantastique: I have been participating in Michael & Kim's class for the past 7 years at another GL club in North York. I went to their first class at this location this past Mon. Although the max. allowed is 12 but the atmosphere is warm, friendly & fun. They are very talented, super nice & smiled the whole time they were teaching. I love their selection of music and got a good sweat as always. I'm so glad they're teaching here as it is a bit closer for me to travel to this location. Will visit their class as often as possible.

Expérience fantastique: Great Customer Service. Lost 2 of my rings at the squat rack and 2 employees found and left them at the front for me at the lost and found. When I called they even left a note for me to pick it up. Much appreciated!
Expérience fantastique: I was apprehensive about going to the gym during this COVID crisis but I went today anyway and my fears were unwarranted. I was greeted door by an employee Darcy who explained the safety policies and processes at the gym. Masks on when you're not working out, clean your machines and keep your distance. They are really doing a good job enforcing distance which made me more ok with people not wearing masks while using equipment. Couple times somebody sat at a machine close to me and within 20 seconds a staff member was there kindly telling them they had to wait or move. All the staff were great and all the other workout folks were abiding by the rules.
Expérience fantastique: Sara/Sarah is an AWESOME associate at the Rossland location in Ajax. Super helpful & super efficient. Spoke to her on 20th Aug, 2020, around 10am, regarding a matter, and she resolved it for me and my son, with exceptional efficience and pleasantness. I had written to the head office previously, and surprisingly there was lack of efficience (could be because of the piled up emails due to Covid, so it's understandable) But speaking to Sara/Sarah, it was evident that customer care is not just work but her passion!! She was alert, pleasant, knowledgeable, with a goal to resolve any matter, instantly!! Thank you soo much, associates like yourself make a huge positive difference in the community!!!
