Expérience fantastique: I got myself a month membership while I was on an extended visit from out of the country and I was very impressed with this facility. I chose GoodLife in Aurora mostly because it was the closest gym to where I was staying and I was easily able to walk there, but then I came to find out it was the most affordable gym in the area after shopping around. There are two floors, and both were kept clean, even during busier hours. I went in the mornings between 9:30 and 11:30 mostly. I never felt like it was overly packed with members. They had a wide variety of machines and equipment, and I even took a couple classes (RPM™ and SoulBody BARRE™) with the same lovely instructor for both. I wish I could remember her name! She had lovely red, curly locks, and amazing taste in music. Loved both classes. She's great at what she does! I am terrible with names, so I also can't recall the name of the gentleman who helped me enroll, but I believe he was the manager of the gym. He was very knowledgeable, helpful, and accommodating. The whole staff at this gym seems to work well together. If I ever return for another extended visit, I plan to re-enroll. Thank you GoodLife Aurora for helping me stay on track with my health and fitness needs and routines, even when I was far away from home.

Expérience négative: I signed up with the worst trainer for my son for limited sessions and I'm not going to sign up for more. He wasn't professional at all. He only gave him 45-50 minutes on each session which should have been 1 hour. He took most of the time pushing both of us to sign up for 6-12 months. I wish he could have worked through those sessions to gain our trust to continue working with him. I don't know why the manger asked him to be with my son.

Expérience négative: I am GL member from last 2 years. I have never asked for ankle straps at the front desk as they are just their near the cable machine. This is the only location where I have to ask for them at the front desk. That’s fine with me, but the guy at the front working today in evening, doesn’t even know what are ankle straps. They were sitting right infront of him and he said we don’t have them. After, I told there they are, he handed me saying”oh sorry I really don’t know anything”. When I was leaving he pointed me saying where did you left them, saying “you should return those at the front again”. Aren’t they supposed to be there? Not even a single strap is available and then asking to return again at the front is no brainers for me. The attitude of the worker is annoying and weird.

Expérience fantastique: Great gym, the equipment is always very clean and I'm always able to have a workout in peace. The only downside is using the stairs after a hard leg session, don't want to hold up the fast lane! but that just puts a cherry on top

Expérience positive: Really good gym with plenty of machines and weights. Love that it’s 24/7 and thats the main reason I go here. Only reason it is not 5 star is because it can get really warm sometimes. If they kept it cooler in here it would be an easy 5 stars from me.

Expérience fantastique: I'm very happy with the results I got with my personal trainer, Krista. She's knowledgeable, caring, skillful, organized and kind. I was in pain when I started working with Krista and despite doing yoga regularly, I had mobility issues. After 6 months working with Krista, I'm now stronger, pain free and fly the stairs up and down. This personal trainer is highly recommended.

Expérience fantastique: I have been doing personal training sessions for six months now with my trainer Pamela and she is the absolute best! She pushes me to train hard and makes me feel so so confident. When I have low energy days, she recognizes that and structures the sessions so that I still get a good pump in with the energy I have, and oftentimes I end up leaving feel happier and more energized than when I initially arrived. I hope that anyone who gets a trainer gets one as good as Pamela because honestly she’s become more than a trainer to me. She’s a trainer, a therapist, a motivator, a teacher, and most importantly, a friend to me, now!

When I shared that my work schedule had changed and I needed to pause temporarily, I was told that wasn’t an option. Communication was limited to text and felt impersonal. Expérience fantastique: Been going for almost a year, the gym has always been clean and a fun environment; A special shout-out goes out to Steve, who is by far the best trainer I’ve ever had. He’s provided tons of personalized workouts that we’ve been rotating every quarter or so to avoid plateauing. He also went above and beyond to give me personalized meal suggestions and has taught me so much about muscle, nutrition, and gym etiquette. I’ve gained over 25 pounds of muscle since starting with him, which reflects his plethora of knowledge in working out effectively (and safely). He’s super accommodating and has worked with me to find solutions every time i’ve had scheduling conflicts or specific issues. There isn’t one single complaint I could make about him, always a great time and it’s evident he cares more about his client’s goals than his own. We’ve become good friends, and his attitude certainly brightens the gym - we often have a good laugh and great conversation in between sets. Not to mention him breaking out the dance moves when a good tune comes on in the gym! Whether you’re a beginner or looking to get into professional bodybuilding, I would recommend Steve, he’ll be able to help you out. Super proud of him for his recent bodybuilding competition victories.

Expérience positive: The gym is fine, but this club has had problems with their hot water for close to a year now. Sometimes they have it; sometimes they don't. So if a good hot shower is important to you after your workout, you might want to look for a different gym.

Expérience fantastique: I’ve been attending rpm/ride classes here for close to a decade, and while all the instructors are capable and wonderful, Pat was my first instructor and got me hooked on RPM. Energetic, entertaining and engaging! The only change I would make to her class is to have a second weekly session on top of her Wednesday afternoon class. VIVE LA PAT!!!

While every location offers a clean, welcoming, and well-equipped environment, the Aurora location is by far the best! The staff there go above and beyond to create a friendly and supportive atmosphere. The group fitness classes particular( Ride ( we need more classes added, only 2 per week is not enough), Barrie, Bodypump) , were a game-changer for me—they helped me get back on my feet after a serious ski injury. Expérience positive: I have been a member of a number of gyms over the last 25 years, and a few of the instructors at GoodLife Aurora are fantastic. I returned to GoodLife because there just aren’t other teachers around like Cindy, Christine and Pat. Unfortunately, their classes regularly fill up with long waiting lists. It would be better if these instructors were teaching more frequently, because there is clearly a demand for them. For example, Cindy (whose passion for fitness, and dedication to making the classes fun and challenging shows in every single class she teaches) has only two Ride classes a week, and these classes both fill up within minutes! Christine (who is the GOAT in Step and Pump, bringing so much energy to every class) teaches just one Step class a week, and it would be great to have at least one more during the week. These classes are what sets GoodLife apart from other gyms, they are fun, informative and build a local fitness community. I would rate this gym 5/5 if the classes were better suited to meet the demand that their clients have, and there weren’t such long waiting lists.

Expérience positive: I’ve been a GoodLife member for about a dozen years in Newmarket and since Covid, in Aurora. Classes are generally great and there’s a good sense of community created by the instructors. I’m partial to spin classes and especially when there’s a great selection of music and an instructor that’s always pushing my fitness limits. That’s Cindy Johnson…been spinning with Cindy for a decade and it never gets old. Recently, Ride classes with Cindy have been reduced and trying to get into the 2 classes per week on offer, is virtually impossible, hence the 4 stars. Hoping very much to have more options to Ride with Cindy…access to those classes are one of the main reasons I remain a member.

Expérience positive: I’ve been a member at GoodLife for 10 + years starting at the Newmarket gym and now my main gym is Aurora. My main reason for going mainly to the Aurora gym is the classes and instructors- Christine Shelston, Cindy Johnson, Pat Volza, Cecily Hennissey Adriana Di L. they all work so hard to make the classes about the members. They take the time to show us the proper technique , play fantastic music and have energy that really motivates us. They go above and beyond and are the reason we keep going back to the same gym and classes. They know me by name and I feel a sense of community and have formed great friendships . I would love to see a few additional classes during the week in the late evening 630 and on or Sunday afternoon for strength training.

Expérience fantastique: I’ve been a member with Aurora GoodLife for several years always doing the classes! They have the best instructors, namely, Cindy Johnson, Christine Shelton, Karen J. and Pat, who are all committed to their jobs, always keeping the classes interesting with great music, lots of enthusiasm, keeping it fun and keeping their members motivated. Expérience négative: I am hoping that Goodlife can please look into the software they are using for the app. It is always down, can't load and I have missed bookings because of this. I went on the computer just now and it says it is down again. Please look into a better solution then this. Many members at Aurora/Newmarket club are experiencing the same issues. Frustrated to say the least especially when booking certain classes and it is very time sensitive because they are fully booked and waitlisted within minutes

Expérience positive: This has been my home gym for years and unfortunately I’ve witnessed its decline. While I find the staff to be very friendly and helpful when need be, I never see anyone at the front desk when I arrive for my workout around 5am and the other day I was followed into the women’s change room by a man who was refusing to leave. When the staff member on duty asked for identification, he ran out. Not only is this simply not ok but it now becomes a safety concern for all. I do believe the lack of attentiveness to who is coming in and out contributes to this as it is very easy for someone to sneak in especially in the mornings. I don’t mind this gym and what it has to offer but unfortunately, safety is slowly becoming a big issue.

His name was amirali. Such a nice and cool dude to hang out with . I’d give the gym 4 star because most of the time it’s crowded and they only have a set of each machines. but amirali…he makes my day when we’re having a conversation!

Expérience positive: I had been a member for 5 yrs (2017-2022) going 6-7 days/week at various times of the day/night (weight room mostly) and here's an honest review of what you can expect at Goodlife - Aurora Centre. Smaller sized 2-storey gym - NO ELEVATOR for anyone with disabilities/mobility issues. Busy times: 7-9:30am, 12-1:30pm and 5:30-9:30pm on weekdays and before noon and late afternoons on the weekends. After-work (5:30-9:30pm) on the weekdays are very busy where you'll likely have to wait to use the more popular equipment or a bench in the free weights area. Most popular fitness instructors are Cindy J and Christine S. A spot in their classes must be booked exactly when the GL booking app allows (72 hrs) or you won't get a spot. The young staff are good natured and respectful although don't expect more than a standard hi/have a good day, at best. There's always enough parking but expect a decent walk to the gym during peak times. Which is annoying in the cold winter. Clientel - 55% over 40 yrs old, 40% between 20-39, 5% under 20. There aren't as many teens that work out here as the LA Fitness down the street bc they dont allow members to bring a friend for free. But in Jul-Aug, the free Teen Fitness program kicks in and high school kids come in droves. This gym is older and could use major updating in the dingy locker rooms and bathrooms. They got rid of the professional cleaners that I used to see daily in the AM so it's noticeably more dirty. Gotta make you wonder about the cleanliness of the sweaty fitness rooms and even worse, the washrooms. Most of the clientele NEVER WIPE anything after use even though there are signs everywhere saying they must. People in the classes wipe the equipment they use and the cardio people wipe their machines, so why cant people that use weights/machines do the same? Mystery... Dropping of heavy weights is also very common here (esp the younger after work crowd) even though, again, there are signs forbiding it. So be prepared for a daily jump scare. Even some of the staff do it when they work out. C'mon guys... GL isnt a powerlifting or crossfit gym. When people in the classes feel the floor shake, then the staff should find the courage to say something. It's your own rules guys! Here's a hint... when the weight slams into the floor and you see many people glare over at the obnoxious inconsiderate person who did it, THAT right there, is the "complaint"... stop ignoring it bc you only encourage it when you do. Parenting 101 for babies. PRICING .... RATES HAVE GONE UP CONSIDERABLY. Most people at this gym are on a corporate plan. Over the 5 years I was a member, the corporate price went from $38 to $69/month for the exact same services. I called their head office to ask why these big jumps in price and they said its bc of new amenities such as swimming pools, hot yoga, squash courts, hydro massage, mind den, etc... Goodlife Aurora Centre has NONE of these things. Not 1. Only 1 new piece of equipment (a hip thruster machine) was added over the last 2 years I was a member. And since rates are the same no matter what gym is your homebase, GL is basically forcing Aurora members to help pay for these great new amenities at the OTHER CLUBS! The head office also said its my company's HR person's fault for agreeing to the new corp rate. It's BS. GL sets the corp price. Everyone pays the same corp rate. UPDATE: I came back... for a 7-day trial to see if anything has changed. Nope, nothing. No new equipment. Class sizes have increased which is good. People still dropping weights all the time. No one wipes. The price has stabilized since Dec 2022 which is good for anyone new that doesnt know what their prices used to be. Ignorance is bliss sometimes. But this also means a price hike is likely coming at the end of this year, right? PS - I only updated this review bc it's the MOST LIKED review for Aurora GL on Google. Figured anyone looking to join might want to see it. And yes, this 1.5 year old review has never had a response from GL like every single other review

Expérience positive: If you like to dance and are searching for a fun, energetic exercise class, you need to try BODYJAM. We jam to a variety of hip hop selections that will have you moving in no time, even if you've never danced before. And we have the best instructor on the planet in Aurora named Marvin! He will acknowledge you, welcome you, and encourage you, no matter what your ability or fitness level is. He breaks everything down into easy, manageable chunks, and he's just an all-around inclusive individual and a great guy. If this appeals to you any at all, don't hesitate. Try out BODYJAM in Aurora. I think you'll agree - it's awesome!

Expérience négative: I am extremely disappointed with the decision to relocate the bumper plates. They recently moved the bumper plates from their dedicated deadlift area to the squat rack closest to the stairs, a busy area creating a chaotic and inconvenient setup. This change not only disrupts the flow of workouts but also makes it harder for members to access the equipment they need. The lack of organization and consideration for members' needs is unacceptable. I hope they reconsider this poor decision soon.

Expérience positive: Be aware of signing up on line for membership or Corporate membership. You may be offered the choice of paying in full, or monthly or bi-weekly. DO NOT PAY THE FULL MEMBERSHIP COST UPFRONT. The cost ends up being the same., HOWEVER., what you are NOT told at the time of signing up online which is to the Corporation’s benefit, is that if you don’t pay in full but chose the bi-weekly or monthly option, your membership rates WILL STAY THE SAME COME TIME FOR RENEWAL . You have no way of knowing this when you choose the option to pay in full, even when you read the contract terms and conditions, which specify ONLY what to expect at the end of the contract option you have chosen. Also, there is a 3-tier system now, when you sign up with the already outrageous price of membership, in order to participate in class instruction, ad additional $75 is added to the cost of your membership. Note…this is not the fault of the individual club, this is the fault of the online site when signing up for a membership . Otherwise, the club is convenient and accommodating. This is a scam. The rich get richer

This is gym is very poorly laid out, front desk staff are all very young and always on their phones not acknowledging any clients coming in and out. Staff does not contribute to a safe and clean gym environment by not respecting patrons personal space when working out or cleaning equipment used by them or their clients. As a woman in the gym, which is hard enough to feel like you have a place in this space, staff does not foster a respectful environment as well are dismissive with issues such as theft from the change room. I have lived in Aurora for almost a year and really don’t look forward to coming to this specific GoodLife gym. I would rather drive up to Bradford or Barrie GoodLife for a quality workout and to feel more valued as a member.

Expérience fantastique: Great place to go workout. Friendly staff and clean areas. I would like to see the change rooms cleaner as they are lots of people and it is not so clean at peak times. There are always available machines to work out. I wish there were classes offered at around 4. I need to go to the gym before going home otherwise my duties as mom kick in and time flies before it is nighttime so, I rather workout before going home. Great place.

Expérience positive: Between the 3 Goodlife gyms this location is the closest BUT my least favorite one! First reason is because the equipment shortage and everything is often occupied, and secondly I noticed that people love to drop the weights just to get some attention and it’s really awful. Last but not least there is no space for personal trainers to train their clients separately( just not to bother others). Other than that the staff are welcoming and nice.

Expérience fantastique: GoodLife continues to be my best investment - in my fitness. I count on taking RPM & RIDE classes 4 times per week with amazing instructors, Cindy, Pat, Samantha & Diana at the Aurora location. As many of us know there is high demand for these classes and we are down from 20 to 18 bikes that we have no idea when they will be repaired. With GoodLife’s high enrolment especially at the Aurora location I’m sure you could afford some spare bikes or parts & a more reliable service contract. There are always extra bikes at other nearby clubs like Newmarket that have a track record of not being used. Just check the booking system. Can you Please bring more operable bikes back to Aurora and avoid lengthy repair delays like we are experiencing? Thank you!

Expérience négative: Oddly enough, whenever you use Google Maps to locate this gym, it always directs you to Canadian Tire. For anyone’s first time going, it’s best to search for Chungchun Rice Dog as GoodLife is located right beside it. The gym is divided into two levels, with a majority of the cardio machines on the lower level, and weights on the upper level. In comparison to a few Goodlife I work at, this location isn’t my favourite. I’ve came a couple times already, and the front desk workers never greet or even look at you, the gym has an odor because it’s not regularly cleaned like other locations I’ve been to. Also, the workers don’t do their job of maintaining the paper towels as there were many times it was empty at a lot of stations, and they also don’t try to clean up the weights/ placing them back. The vibes at this location just isn’t it with the people who come; either they’re very loud and drop the weights where the whole floor shakes, or you have people who hogs two machines. I saw a girl ask another girl to not change the weights or setup because she already “prepped it”, but that girl wasn’t even finished using her current machine yet. Overall, workers and the people who attend aren’t the friendliest here, and if I ever get the chance, I would go to another location.

Expérience positive: I really like the gym and the staff is excellent. The members of the gym are great to. The location is great, since surrounded by homes and business. Why I'm shocked it's not 24/7 truly. Last night we were forced out at 10 PM on a Friday night. I think it's time this gym gets back to pre pandemic hours or take down the 24/7 sign, because its false advertising.

Expérience positive: There can be many teenagers in the summer because they have free memberships. There is a good variety of equipment. There are weightlifting platforms as well which is great if you’re into doing that. Works for all people but kind of small so it can get busy. Has a sauna. Busiest in the evenings so watch out for that.

Expérience fantastique: I’ve been working with the personal trainer Paulina for around two months and absolutely LOVE it. She has fantastic energy and keeps me accountable when it gets hard. She reminds me why I’m here every day and inspires me to only give my very best. Definitely recommend her. I also have to shout out the other trainers and staff. Very welcoming and knowledgeable, from the moment I walk in the gym.

Expérience positive: All was well, except for when I was sarcastically and condescendingly scolded out of nowhere, by a middle aged short-haired black lady about how I shouldn't be on my phone using the machine. Because God forbid, in a gym where plenty of the machines were actually free - I take a quick break in between sets. If you want to use the machine just ask. Don't make a rude remark about me using my phone. She gave off the sarcastic-nice attitude, so I gave it right back to her when I finished with the machine. Even though I informed staff of this incident, I wish they took it more seriously because I personally felt threatened. I don't feel comfortable returning to this location again.

Expérience fantastique: I have been going to various exercise classes at GoodLife Aurora for many years. The instructors for the exercise classes are all excellent. I really enjoy the RPM class led by Pat V. She is fun and energetic and she encourages you to work harder. She makes you feel you're part of a community. Recently, I also signed up for personal training with Harper. I've noticed improvement in my strength and endurance. I find the facilities to be clean and pleasant.
