Fantastic experience: I've gone through several personal trainers over the years and by far Matt at Atlantic Avenue is the best one I've had. He really pays attention to your goals, limitations you might have or concerned, builds a solid plan on how to achieve your fitness goals to attain strength and mobility for the long term of your health. His ability to be sympathetic any physical pain you might be going through, and maneuvering around it really makes him stand out vs other trainers i've had who just rinse and repeat the same routines to all their clients. The gym also offers great group classes once you're ready and has a very supportive community. 10/10 highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: One of the best places I've ever trained at. Without sounding trite, this establishment is more than a fitness facility — it's become a second home. Both Matt and Char genuinely care about your success, personal goals, and overall general health (physically and mentally). It isn't small talk and platitudes, it's more of a "how are you showing up today and how can we get you to where you want to be with that in mind" without being coddled or placated. Personally, I love the constructive feedback (which I requested) and seeing how far I can push myself and be pushed at the same time! I am so grateful to have found this gym, as it's helped me grow in so many more ways than just physical fitness.

Fantastic experience: My expectations of weight training have been exceeded and enlightened by the skilled, supportive and inspiring instruction of Matt Rochelle. I never thought I’d have so much fun lifting heavy things, learning new moves and lifting techniques while reaping the benefits of a stronger body which is so beneficial as we age. Take a step off the alley through the yellow door to be welcomed into a pretty awesome fitness environment . Enjoy!

Fantastic experience: Hands down one of the best gyms I’ve worked out at. The amount of attention to detail Matt provides while/during/after a movement is something I’ve never experienced before. An amazing facility with such down to earth people. Matt was also super nice enough to do a crash course on using the mace. The moment you step into this gym you will find all those commercial gyms boring. I’ve only worked out here 4 days and I’ve learned so much. Thanks to Matt for providing me this opportunity to train under him and his super awesome facility.

Fantastic experience: Matt runs an amazing gym. I usually train in NYC but I'm from Toronto and always go back to AAAC when I'm in town. Matt's expansive fitness knowledge and consistent patience translate into an inclusive and productive gym environment where I'm always learning new techniques and improving my form. Every class is taught at 110% and it keeps me motivated to try to match that intensity and push my own limits, all well still being cognizant of how my body is communicating it's limitations and how I can work to respect and overcome them. I owe a lot to the training at AAAC which has helped me to become not just stronger but more mindful of my body and more creative of its possibilities. I wish I could train here all the time, but I'll have to settle for those happy moments when I'm visiting town.

Fantastic experience: A friendly, inclusive environment with knowledgeable coaches and diverse workouts. While the gym may seem intimidating at first, with Matt’s and Charlotte’s guidance, the workouts become very accessible very quickly and you soon become part of the community. The coaches are incredibly attentive and professional, really care about your progress and are always there to help you adapt your training to fit your needs. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I can't say enough great things about Atlantic. No ego in sight! The people that train at the gym are friendly and encouraging. It has a huge number of female members which i also believe shows the type of atmosphere Atlantic and Matt provide. It's like having a personal trainer in a group setting. Everyone is there to help, encourage, push and motivate. The gym is clean, organized and well equipped. Matt is extremely accommodating to injuries, skill levels and fitness levels. You never feel like you're being left behind in the classes. 1000% recommend!

Fantastic experience: Oh man, I do not know where to start...suffice to say this is the most welcoming, supportive and downright badass gym anywhere in the city! Well, not that I have been to many BUT I would wager anything on this statement being true. Matt is literally a ZEN master and what he has created and continues to create with Atlantic Avenue is a place where I am not only getting physically stronger but just as importantly I am growing mentally stronger as well. Fantastic experience: Atlantic Avenue is by far the best, most welcoming gym I have ever attended. I began attending when I was at my biggest and unhealthiest and so my anxiety around getting back into a gym setting was real and debilitating. I kid you not, those feelings were eliminated after the first day. This is a place where the staff will learn and use your name, celebrate your successes, and will support your goals no matter your fitness level. If you are looking for a strength and conditioning program then Atlantic Avenue is a no brainer
