The Warrior Factory Hamilton

Fantastic experience: My 5 year old just attended his first class and seeing his joy was contagious, I couldn’t stop smiling. There was one particular young man who coached him this class named Ivan. So motivating, so enthusiastic… he made my boy and the other boys feel so accomplished. I hope this coach knows the difference he is making in these children. Boosting their confidence and making them truly feel special. The first thing my son asked was if that coach will be back next week and I really hope so!

Fantastic experience: Visited for an Open Play session. Great gym for Ninjas to practice in. Lots of variety in the obstacles. Even though it was Open Play a coach would often stop by and offer helpful tips or just cheer/congratulate the participants. There was a participant age range from about 6-40 and the coaches were stopping by and working with everyone regardless of age or ability. Really well run gym, will definitely pop by again in the future.

Fantastic experience: I had a great time here with my niece and nephew. Shout out to Will and Katrina for being amazing coaches! They are kind, fun, helpful and clearly pro ninjas!

Fantastic experience: Our kid celebrated his bday here!! Facility is very nice and clean. Our coaches were very helpful and engaging. Had exclusive use of the place for mid package. Reasonable and memorable experience for our son and his classmates!

Negative experience: I am writing this review with a heavy heart as our past experiences with this place were good. Our first class was with coach yaden who was exceptional in the way he led the class and talked to his students. Today was our second class and I was shocked at the lengths an adult can go to make a child feel unwelcome. As a visible minority I noticed the moment I walked in the way coach Jeremy seemed put off. His entire demeanor was stand offish and this reflected in his treatment of my son for the duration of the class. Several incidents I noted: 1) my son was coughing (he has asthma) and he yelled over all the way from his place "COVER YOUR MOUTH". I chose to give him the benefit of the doubt with this although he could have said the same exact words without needing to yell and embarrass him over a health issue he has no control over. 2) my son was playing with the wheel in a way he shouldn't have, and instead of directing and guide him he literally yelled at him and yanked at his shirt (absolutely unacceptable!) 3) kids were given a command which my son clearly misunderstood and the coach literally clapped and shouted in his face WHAT DID I JUST SAY. I will mention that not one other child was yelled in the duration of the entire class and it was my son and my son only singled out with this. My son has worked with coach Yarden and Eva in the past and neither of them had any issues getting him to follow instructions and remain engaged. With coach Jeremy today my son opted to sitting out most of the lesson on his own and I'm sure the yelling was off putting, to put it lightly. All this happened while I sat and watched my son go through this i can't even imagine how the coach would have treated him in my absence. Today's experience was truly heartbreaking as my son had enjoyed our past classes. Whether or not we'll return is subject to how the Warrior Factory will address our concern and i will add that should we do return it will not be with this coach who clearly needs diversity training and maybe a lesson in not taking out your internal grievance with a certain religious/ethnic group on a child. Edit to add: when dad asked him how his session he said "i didn't like it. The man in the blue shirt (coach jeremy) was angry ". Basically, the 6 year old picked up on it whereas in previous sessions he didn't want to leave the place or would cheerfully leave with a "see you next class". Edit to reply: I will await your email coach Jeremy. Although I'd like to add that the insinuation that we did something to deserve this treatment is in itself telling. There is nothing, absolutely nothing that a child, a 6 year old can do to deserve such treatment. The fact that he did not have any issues with either coaches in the past is an indication that you need to own up and not double down. But I'm happy to hear what we did that the world doesn't need to know about?

Positive experience: Our daughter had her birthday party at The Warrior Factory. We had 12 children and purchased the mid-level party package. The facility was very clean and the equipment was impressive. We had kids aged from 4-8, and they all found something to enjoy and try. It was nice to have private use of the obstacles. The party room was set up nicely. The kids gobbled the pizza up quickly. We were underwhelmed by the staff on duty for the party. The website describes that the coaches are engaging and encouraging, but the 3 guys working during the party rarely interacted with the kids at all. They explained the rules, took a group photo and aside from that, didn't do much else. We had only 1 or 2 kids who had ever done ninja-style obstacles before, and they took the lead to show the others what to do. It would have been nice for the guys to take the time to explain/model some of the obstacles, to encourage the kids to try them out and to celebrate their attempts. Myself and another mom who stayed for the party ended up cheering the kids on and trying to help them figure out what to do. We might give the structured classes a try in the future, but probably wouldn't book another party if this is the norm for staff engagement. Based on the description on the website, I thought we'd be getting a little more guidance from the pros.

Negative experience: I recently dropped off my child at this facility for a class (1hr 15mins),along with his favourite personal water bottle, a special gift from his birthday. Unfortunately, when I came to pick him up, the bottle was missing. My son was understandably upset, so I searched the entire facility before approaching the front desk for help. Ava, the staff member on duty, was not as helpful as I had hoped. She was rude and dismissive form the start. I asked if she could help check the cameras after I searched the entire place, she brushed off my request, claiming she didn’t have time, even though she wasn’t busy at the moment. When I politely asked if she could check later, her response was blunt and unhelpful. It was a frustrating experience, especially given the importance of the item to my child. Beyond the lost bottle, I’m also concerned about the overall security of the facility. It seems that people can come and go without much supervision, which is worrying for a place designed for children. While there are cameras installed, I’m not confident they are being actively monitored.Parents, be cautious—keep a close watch on your kids and their belongings, as the facility doesn’t seem to prioritize either. With a little more attention to customer service and security, this place could truly provide a better experience for everyone.

Positive experience: Had our daughter in the kids ten week programme. Mattias is amazing. Super involved with the kids and is so good with them. The female who I will not name on here stood there most weeks doing absolutely nothing. Thank you Mattias for salvaging a ten week program after the first few weeks with the other non interested female alone. Thanks for bringing structure into the programme.

Fantastic experience: Wow! We had our first experience with Warrior Factory today and we can not wait to return and bring friends with us! Coach Yarden was so helpful! I can’t say enough good things about him. Coach Will was incredible as well very welcoming of my little lady who is so shy. My daughter was so comfortable at the open play, and had so much fun! She is excited to go back which she’s a very quiet girl who takes a while to open up and she was so comfortable within minutes at this place. Such a great team, clean facility, welcoming, reasonably priced and easy to find! I’d highly suggest visiting.

Fantastic experience: The Coaches at the gym were absolutely awesome with my son during the open gym time. They spent time setting up obstacles for his current skill set and helped him with tips on how to approach them. Absolutely love this place and will be a frequent visitor.

Fantastic experience: This place is incredible. If you have watched and love the sport American Ninja Warrior then you need to know that we have the equivalent here in Hamilton. There are competitive leagues based out of this gym and the athletes of all ages get to travel and compete and even go up against people from the show. This gym offers training from top level coaches and even hosts international competitions. Pretty amazing we have this right here in our hometown.

Fantastic experience: Mar 6 2024 from mtl came here with kids for 730 free play. Not only is it a great place . But hats off to the staff that are actually helping the kids and are super attentive to everyone in here and smiling and happy to be here ! Kudos on the staff tonight ... Amazing

Fantastic experience: My kids' friend bday party was here. Great spot. Kids were utterly exhausted afterward. If you're looking for a place to tire them out, this is a good choice. It looked really fun, but I don't need to get hurt at my advanced age.

Fantastic experience: Great gym. Great coaches. Great community. We've had an excellent experience with The Warrior Factory.

Negative experience: Do not go here if you have a neurodiverse family. Staff not accommodating or understanding to issues out of our control at all. Rude and unprofessional! No problem with the actual owner as he was always professional and kind but just had a truly horrible time spent there so much so I had to leave with my child early and super upset. Go to Flying Squirrel for your sensory needs unless you want to be screamed at and have your child dismissed for an issue they didn’t even care to listen to. Will not be back ever, ever again.

Negative experience: Horrible experience Under staffed and not friendly staff Go way before your jump time because you pay to wait in line. Fill out waivers for everyone before you go. Overpriced for what they have Very small space

Fantastic experience: My son’s class came here on a school trip and he begged to have his birthday party at the warrior factory. The day finally came and we had a great experience. The staff were super helpful and attentive, and the coaches were great with the kids, teaching and entertaining them. A wonderful experience and memorable birthday for my son and his friends!

Fantastic experience: We took both kids today for open play. The staff and coaches were INCREDIBLE. Both kids (7 and 9) had an amazing time. Coach David was patient and kind to my kids, giving them instruction along the way. Although it is about a 1 hour commute from where we live, we plan to return. Great experience.

Fantastic experience: I work with a young boy with special needs. I've taken him to the warrior factory twice now and both times he really enjoyed being there. I pushed himself to do things out of his comfort zone and the coach's were amazing with him!!!

Fantastic experience: This place is incredible. From the energy that comes from all the staff to the tremendous effort put into safety, all to make the time spent there great. We are now there several days a week in order for our child to train on the competitive team. There is so much support from the administration and coaches that make this a very positive experience. It is a great place for kids to burn some energy while gaining confidence and strength (mental and physical). Two enthusiastic thumbs up.

Fantastic experience: What a fun experience! Went in for an open mat to see what it was all about and we loved it. The professionals make it look hellishly easy when it's anything but! Shout out to Coach Megan for the warm welcome and helpful tips. We'll be back

Fantastic experience: We LOVE the Warrior Factory!! Great facility, great coaches and programs! We have children participating in curriculum and comp squad and are often back on the weekends for an open play or Ninja 60. We have also done a birthday party here and it was so well run and easy for the parents! We also had a few kids say afterwards that they wanted their party at the same place! Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: Had a great experience tonight hosting my niece's birthday party. Both of the staff working tonight were great with the kids, super enthusiastic, and very easy to work alongside. The kids and the adults who participated had a great time and are looking forward to coming back again. Average price for the birthday package was about $30/person.

Fantastic experience: We had our daughter’s 9th birthday here and I can’t say enough good things about The Warrior Factory Hamilton! They are super organized. Jill and Tiffany were super responsive via email. And Coach Lucas and Coach Alison were so helpful with all the kids!! They had name tags, but Coach Alison was so on it, from encouraging them on the obstacles, to being so great dishing out the pizza and cupcakes! It made it so special that she addressed all the kids by name with each interaction! 10/10 would recommend!

Negative experience: extremely disappointing experience … brought my 2 children (7+9) for open play, each child is enrolled in extensive extracurriculars and are very active. We arrived in converse shoes, immediately we’re dismissed and made to feel less than with the employee stating ‘this is a fitness centre’ and that our footwear was unacceptable, we had offered other shoes and were continuously dismissed and near laughed at, staff were difficult to get ahold of and less than attentive. gravely disappointed in the level of customer service, especially since the pricing is quiet high for the low level ‘equipment’.

Positive experience: Lots of room for the kids great workouts for every one adults included up stairs party room

Fantastic experience: This place was so much fun! I went yesterday with a bday party, the kids had a blast and even I was able to get up there with them which is nice that both kids and adults can get in there! The employees were amazing! The girl that helped our party was so helpful with everything, and the guy was amazing on the floor with the kids, they had him playing tag and everything! Great place to go so worth it! My son trevor wants me to say thank u lol and he had a blast!

Fantastic experience: Brought my 5 year old nephew to the open play, coach was amazing with him! My nephew talked about it all night and he can't wait for next time, the staff are all friendly and facility is very clean. No better way to burn off a young man's energy, we will definitely be back!

Positive experience: Took my three boys aged 11, 9, and 6 respectively for the open Play session from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. yesterday. They had a really great time and the obstacles are a lot of fun. I was a little taken aback that the kids had to wear masks while exercising. Many of the obstacles are quite physically demanding, I saw numerous children taking a break and sitting down to just breathe heavily with their mask down for a minute or two before going to play again. The facility itself was very clean and the staff really couldn't be more helpful or motivating. Price was very reasonable as well.

Fantastic experience: Yesterday I took my 3.5 year old during toddler time - it was both of our first times, and we had a blast! My little energizer bunny is always on the move, so it was the perfect place to burn off some of that energy. I truly don't know who had more fun. We will definitely be back!!

Fantastic experience: My kids were reluctant at first (tired from school?) but after 30 minutes they got their 2nd wind and got serious. Sweat, effort and self-pride are the key components of the game here. Supporting each other and combined with some great staff/coaches, it was great to watch my kids get active. Clean facilities, lovely and patient employees...thanks for being here in Hamilton.

Fantastic experience: Best place I’ve worked! They really cater to all their members and clients and is a very friendly and positive company as a whole! Everyone here is great! We get new obstacles all the time, and constantly change up the obstacle set up on the floor so it never gets boring for people continuously coming back! They offer so many different options; open plays, ninja course nights (my personal fav!), curriculum classes, half coaching half open play classes, toddler time, birthday parties and events! Tons to choose from and it is great for the whole family! Everyone who comes here is like family to us! :)

Fantastic experience: We brought our twins for the toddler time on Friday and had a wonderful experience with Coach Nick. It is so rare to see that type of enthusiasm and energy from anyone these days and he made the environment so warm and welcoming for the kids. We will definitely be back to enjoy another session of toddler time. Thank you so much for keeping our kids active during this difficult time.

Fantastic experience: Great, clean, fun place for all levels. Everyone always feels included and encouraged because their staff is top notch. I've done the curriculum, open plays and competition nights and they're all run very well. I highly recommend anyone check it out that is looking to get a fun new workout in.

Fantastic experience: We signed up on their website for open play. When we arrived, they had name tags ready for us and showed us the ropes. There was an observation area upstairs for anyone but participating.. All the staff was so courteous and positive and the facility was very clean. Our kids were able to push themselves and came away from their experience luminous from all the challenges they overcame. We had a great experience!

Fantastic experience: Been in the ninja world for 2.5 years and this is the best coaching and training so far that we’ve experienced and the nicest gym by far. Very clean and the staff are amazing. The coaches inspire and motivate my son to do his best. Prices are comparable to other gyms. The programs are great. We have done open gym, ladies night, curriculum classes and competition nights. I love that the owner is connected with the American gyms and leagues like national ninja league and Canadian ninja league. This is the best place my son has done ninja! We are so happy this franchise came to Canada and we lived close enough to call this our home gym.

Positive experience: A great spot for the kids (or yourself) to get in some challenging workouts while having fun. A little on the pricey side for a regular occurrence (but comparable in price to other venues, ie. flying squirrel). The cost was $25pp, we went when they were having a promo which made it that much more enjoyable. There were several staff members on the floor willing to help the kids and guide them through the obstacles if they wanted. A large sitting area at the top to wait and view what is going on. Covid-19 procedures included, hand sanitizer at the entrance, a quick temperature check. I was very impressed that the employee asked if we wanted our forehead temp or wrist temp taken. Not many places/people ask this and i was very appreciative that we could get our wrist temperatures taken. Masks must be worn any time you were on the grey flooring in their building but were not mandatory while doing obstacles for participants, all staff were wearing masks. As we were leaving all equipment was being cleaned. My kids had a great time and think that this will be a great addition to Hamilton. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because of the price.
