RIDE CYCLE CLUB Ossington: Opinions
Fantastic experience: Tried a lot of spinning studios in Toronto, but Ride Cycle Club is by far my favorite -- staff and coaches are friendly / not intimidating, studio and showers are always clean, and classes are a perfect balance of fun and challenge (love love Rich, Emily H, and Winta's classes!).
Fantastic experience: Friendly spinning studio
Fantastic experience: This place is truly the best! Fantastic instructors. Wonderful staff. Love you, RIDE Ossington!
Fantastic experience: The best spin studio in the city! I’ve been a member for a couple of years and they continue to have a great mix of instructors and music. Love the theme rides (s/o James’ Pop Rides, Megan’s Guilty Pleasures, Tracey’s Turn Up Thursdays) and community feel!
Positive experience: Great instructor when I visited last week! But the studio felt pretty dirty and crowded compared to most other spin studios downtown.
Fantastic experience: Ive been to Chadd Dani’s and Rich’s class! All amazing instructors! With great music!! Such a nice spot and good bikes too! I didnt like spin so much in the beginning but they really push you and test your limit.
Fantastic experience: RIDE is the best spin studio in toronto. No question. I’ve been going for a few years. Incredible instructors, music, sound system and vibe. The staff are all very warm and welcoming and always take great care of you. Doesn’t hurt that it’s tucked away like a cool little secret down a laneway off of ossington.
Fantastic experience: Emily was attentive, thorough on instruction and had even taken the time post-class to introduce herself and chat to a friend of mine and I on how the class went. Kudos Emily and the entire front line team. From a warm welcome to an exceptional looking facility including the showers and changing area. Lastly the path to purchase online in securing the Sunday spin class a couple of weeks ago was flawless. I look forward to coming back in the near future. Cheers!I’m
Fantastic experience: This is a PSA that Ride got new hair dryers
Fantastic experience: Always fun. Great instructors.
Fantastic experience: I love this studio and the energy here. I initially joined to include some cross-training in my marathon training schedule, but now I think I’ve caught the bug. I’ve been to several other studios, but none have the same energy or ambiance. I’ll definitely continue going here for the foreseeable future.
Fantastic experience: First ever Spin class and James made it super accessible with great cues! Every time I was unsure what to do he said just the right thing to help me understand. And just so FUN!
Fantastic experience: The best cycle studio in Toronto
Fantastic experience: Always a warm welcoming environment from staff. Marlon is the best! His whole energy puts the studio on a vibe. No other way I’d spend my Sunday mornings thank you!!
Fantastic experience: Just a white girl who loves rap and trap but forever can’t catch the beat. Regardless I love RIDE so much. Go see Kyle or Matt. If Kyle was a little more Father John Misty and a little less drum and bass, he could be a cult leader. Matt just seems like a nice unproblematic guy who really loves Kanye and probably his mom.
Fantastic experience: One of my favourite studio - friendly, beautiful.. everything you need to shower and get ready before work. Amazing instructors - some of my faves are Kyle, Chad, Jess, Matt.. everyone has their own distinct style and music. So much fun!
Fantastic experience: Great teachers - my favourites are Rich and James, they definitely bring the vibes!
Fantastic experience: I always hated spin… until pre-pandemic, I came to Ride. Over 300 classes later, I’m a convert. BUT only to Ride! No other spin club does it. A top fave for me in Toronto / Canada — a great workout.
Fantastic experience: Hands down the BEST cycle studio in TO. Always challenging and the instructors are excellent.
Fantastic experience: Love this spin studio - take a class with Rich, he is the best!! Has an amazing playlist and motivational energy.
Fantastic experience: Best cycle club in North America. Ashley Ander slayys
Fantastic experience: I have to say that I couldn't be happier riding at Ride Cycle Club: I've taken more than one hundred classes there, I always feel welcome (despite my age!) and the instructors are amazing!
Fantastic experience: One of the best workouts in Toronto and basically the only place I will get up early for before work and know I will have the best time and spend my day feeling refreshed.
Fantastic experience: Ride is best spin studio in town Always good energy, friendly community and cleanest studio. Try 7:00 am Friday class with Emily to feel the burn and best vibes ever!
Fantastic experience: As someone who’s been working towards finding a movement routine that works for me, this studio was so so welcoming. From the moment I walked in I was greeted from the reception desk, asked about my experience with cycling and checked in with to make sure my shoes fit, which was a super kind touch. Upon entering the space, Ashley helped set me up showing me how to lock in and out, seat adjustments, handlebars, how to manoeuvre the tension knob. It alleviated so many anxieties I had coming into the space. I took the Ontario ride class which was super upbeat - it was a dark and loud space which I really enjoyed but I probably would want to know in advance if I didn’t know anything about spin studios. Chadd was an INCREDIBLE instructor, he was super high energy, motivating and led the class through role modelling on the bike itself and hyping up his class mates. Make no mistake, this IS a challenging class for a beginner but not out of the realm of possibility for someone with no spin experience. I will definitely be returning to this space!
Positive experience: Tried Ride Cycle Club a couple of week ago. The experience itself was great, the front desk and the instructor were super friendly. Coming out of class they asked us to pick a drink and bonus I won a free ride! Since I was always planning on going back this was amazing- except it was not, I have been trying to reach out to claim my free ride and have been completely ignored. I guess it makes sense reading the posts about them not liking ClassPass…maybe they decided to give it to one of their ‘paying’ members. Being ghosted by a spinning class is not cool lol! Oh well at least I got a free drink out of it ♀️
Fantastic experience: Kyle made my first ever spin class feel so welcoming and amazing! The energy was top tier… the motivation… the playlist… everything! Really enjoyed the class, let’s see how my body feels tomorrow lol!
Fantastic experience: I was visiting Toronto and really wanted to keep up with my spinning. I found Ride Ossington from online reviews and I wasn't disappointed. Special shoutout to Ashley who was so kind to me when I checked in for my first class, asked me how it went and personally invited me back the next day!
Positive experience: Not the most welcoming Spinning club in Toronto. It's mostly made for influencers and not as diverse therefore less of a community feel. I had difficulties getting off the bike during my first month and the reception desk assistant gave me attitude telling me I should know how to get off the bike by now. There are better spinning studios in Toronto and value for money.
Fantastic experience: The only spin gym I would recommend. Marlon and Kyle’s classes are a must for everyone. Energy is great and everyone is inclusive to folks at all fitness levels.
Negative experience: I’ve been coming to this studio for months and haven’t had a negative experience, unfortunately until today. I asked the front desk why I wasn’t able to choose a bike using the app, like we were previously able to when booking through ClassPass. This was only my 2nd time using ClassPass, so I wasn’t sure why it was happening. It puts you in really odd locations and fills up the sides which doesn’t give a great view of the instructor. The woman working at the front desk called over what I suspect to be a studio owner, but I can’t confirm. He proceeded to berate me for using ClassPass and started yelling about how they make no money off of it. It was super unprofessional and I didn’t understand what this had to do with reserving a bike. I instead got lectured on using a service that the business is offering and didn’t get my question answered. No one is forcing you to be a member of ClassPass if it’s not a good business decision for you, RCC. I no longer feel welcomed here after this experience which is a bummer because I have bought multiple class packs directly from the studio and the instructors are great. I went into what I thought would be a stress relieving class even more stressed than I was when I walked in and this ruined the vibe of my whole class.
Fantastic experience: My girlfriend and I tried their trial membership (she now has a membership here), this was my first spin studio and they were very helpful setting us up, they even had a greeting card on our bikes to welcome us! It is a small studio but it’s lots of fun. Great atmosphere overall!
Negative experience: Just not my kind of place but other people clearly love it. It's insanely loud, you definitely need to wear earplugs, the heat and darkness and being squished in there with everyone else is very overwhelming, the music in both of the classes I did was pretty lyricless and techno-y. Feels intimidating when you walk in and generally is a bit of a pretentious environment even though the instructors are being friendly. Works for some people, really didn't work for me
Fantastic experience: Been going here for at least 3 years now and it’s such a great vibe. The quality of the instructors here are incredible. Staff are friendly and it really has a sense of community
Fantastic experience: Amazing class. Jess is a great instructor with a lot of energy, very inspiring. The music was so motivating, and the vibe was awesome. Definitely the perfect spot to work out and get out with a good sweat and big smile. 200% recommend
Fantastic experience: Great Friday night hip hop class! Migz is amazing!
Fantastic experience: Best Ride in the city, hands down.
Fantastic experience: Love the classes
Fantastic experience: Staff is extremely helpful and friendly - especially for newcomers! Classes are fun and an excellent workout. Definitely recommend.
Fantastic experience: James was the best! He made the class so much fun. This was my first time at this studio and they made me feel so welcomed. Very clean change rooms and bathroom too. Also the AC in the studio was perfect.
Fantastic experience: Awesome classes with tons of options. Emily is my favorite for an early morning ride! She is super energetic and personable. I love that she gives you multiple options depending on your level or how you’re feeling.
Fantastic experience: Great local spin studio, with super central location in Toronto! All the instructors are amazing truly, but my favourites are Tracy, Emily P. And Kyle. It’s good to try out a few classes to see what instructors work for you! Such a good spot to disconnect a bit and get in a really solid workout. Very loud so earplugs recommended too!
Fantastic experience: Phenomenal high energy rides. Great music great instructors This is the ultimate rhythm riding studio in Toronto
Positive experience: Pros: Nice studio. Great washroom. Friendly lady at front desk. Cons: Holy Jesus wear earplugs. My ears are literally aching. WAYYYYYYYYY too unnecessarily loud.
Fantastic experience: Best spin experience in the world. For newcomers: it just takes time to get the beat, even for great athletes who I have brought along to classes. I’ve been doing ride for 7+ years and still struggle on the fast jogs. It’s always a challenge which is awesome and the music / energy is unmatched. This is also a very well run business with excellent management. RIDE fam forever. ❤️
Fantastic experience: Had a blast
Fantastic experience: Ride Cycle is by far the best spin studio in the city. Everyone is so welcoming and the instructors are second to none. Highly recommended!
Fantastic experience: Love this place, it's such a cool vibe and I'm just a beginner but I'm obsessed already!
Fantastic experience: Loved the experience- but beware, this felt like a more advanced spin studio! Very rapid instructions and choreography
Fantastic experience: I am writing this just to give some love to Marlon. I've been to some other gyms spin class and the instructors were super mean, or unpleasant or just didn't feel as welcoming to some of us who aren't super fit (yet). But Marlon's class? Everyone is welcome. Not only does he have THE BEST music choices, he's super chill while also getting us to do the best we can. You won't find a more welcoming space than this. The classes are so good that even when you're exhausted, you wish it would go on for another hour.
Negative experience: I used to really enjoy coming to this location, I am in no way a pro spinner but my last experience really left a poor taste in my mouth. As you know the room is very dark with only candles and flashing lights, they claim the front row to be for “pros” only. I personally cannot see the instructor from the back so a friend and I opted to take seats in the front row. During class, the instructor singled me out several times telling me to “sit down” and stop trying to match the beat since I wasn’t getting it at that moment. I was honestly really embarrassed she singled me out this way and made me never want to return.
Fantastic experience: Great place , nice staff
Fantastic experience: The best
Fantastic experience: Loved the experience!! For my first ride, the team at the desk was super helpful to get me set up and patient through my questions. Elizabeth is a rockstar! Love her attention, pace and style throughout the class.
Positive experience: Pros: nice space, great location, convenient class times! Cons: music is WAY too loud (like, instructor was screaming into their headset and I had no idea what they were saying) and not the most welcoming environment for beginners.
Fantastic experience: Love this studio! It's definitely the chicest spinning studio I've ever been to. I feel cool just being there lol. The rides are challenging but the instructors do a great job pushing you through. I'm a spinning beginner but I've been able to follow along with the rest of the class, and the instructors made themselves very available to answer questions I had. I feel euphoric after finishing an early-morning spin class at Ride, and ready to conquer the rest of the day.
Fantastic experience: My husband & I drive out from Kleinburg every Sunday to RIDE with Emily. Unreal experience, totally worth the 45 min drive every week! Can't wait for next Sunday!
Fantastic experience: This place has touched my soul like no other. I never used to understand the spin culture hype but then I decided to try and I GET IT. Great teachers, amazing staff, and killer classes.
Fantastic experience: A transcendental fitness experience. Awesome natural high.
Fantastic experience: Always a treat to come work out here, everyone is so friendly
Fantastic experience: I love the classes at Ride! Always a good pick me to lift your soul with their classes. The instructors are amazing and the classes are high energy vibes. Definitely recommended.
Fantastic experience: Great studio and love the Aesop products in the shower.
Fantastic experience: Best spin class I've been to in the city
Fantastic experience: Have you ever had a near death experience, but strangely enjoyed it? It feels like an elite secret club, and some you accidentally were granted a VIP pass. Dar’s class felt like I maybe had trip into another dimension. It’s hard to feel powerful when you’re on display, but not here. The dim lights, and heavy bass muted the worry in my head so i can literally just ride. The best class I’ve ever attended.
Fantastic experience: Amazing energy in this space. Super clean, accommodating and friendly. Great music and people—especially the owner Ashley Ander. She personally assisted me onto the bike and would check in to see how I was doing throughout the class. Earlier this year, she made it possible for me to experience RIDE despite my physical disability/limitation and I can't wait to go back! Highly recommend joining or experiencing at least once! Grateful to have experienced pure moments like this.
Positive experience: I find it to be fairly cliquey here. Typical Ossington crowd. Bikes are fine, however crammed so close together. Parking is a major issue during peak hours. Plenty of lockers. Caters to the bougie crowd no doubt
Fantastic experience: Yes!!! Such a great spin studio! Great music, great staff, and a killer workout.
Fantastic experience: Omg my favourite place to go spinning! Fantastic instructors who motivate you to do more!
Fantastic experience: I kept skipping Ride on my regular visits to Toronto, and that was a huge mistake! Ride has an amazing vibe, great music, and Elizabeth puts on a killer class. I just found my new spin studio for future visits!
Fantastic experience: I’ve been to several spin studios in Toronto and Ride Cycle Club is by far the best! Clean venue, large change rooms, showers available, friendly staff, great music, what more can you ask for? The energy is amazing in Cat’s class!
Fantastic experience: Hands down my favourite spin studio in the city. The energy in the Sunday Hip Hop is unreal, and definitely one of the best parts of my week!
Fantastic experience: This is the best spin class in town! The energy in that dark room really pushes you to leave it all on the bike and you're guaranteed to be dripping in sweat from a stellar workout. The instructors are super cool, the music is energetic and the change rooms are always spotless. 5/5 stars and would recommend to ALL my friends!
Fantastic experience: Cool
Fantastic experience: Challenging, yet super fun
Fantastic experience: Amazing class and everyone very friendly - made an Irish visitor feel at home. Fancy opening a studio in Dublin?!
Fantastic experience: I went to my first Ride class yesterday for the #ALLANAXRIDE event (which I hope they start to do more regularly!) I really preferred this place over Soulcycle. The front desk girls were SO welcoming and sweet. I never once felt uncomfortable. They helped us get settled into our bikes and the class itself was really focused on following the beat rather than just going as fast as you can. I liked that we were told to stop pedalling when it was time to use arm weights, at Soulcycle you have to do both at the same time and it’s just really intense. Overall, if you’re looking for a spin spot that is good vibes and more laid-back (but still a kick-butt workout) I’d recommend Ride!
Negative experience: I'm an avid spinner of almost two years and gave this place two shots. The music is exceedingly loud, and I hate wearing ear plugs but I had to or my ears literally hurt after. The music is crazy loud even in the waiting area and changeroom, which is just too much. I like the music and found the two coaches I had to be alright (high energy and engaging), but I don't get the "community" vibe that I look for... Half the class left during stretching, which I think REALLY ruins the vibe for everyone else. There are times where the room is pitch black, so if you are a claustrophobic person I definitely don't recommend these classes. There wasn't enough variation in resistance that I get at my regular studio. The first class I did there, I almost had a panic attack because the corner I was in didn't have a working fan and I could barely breathe. Definitely good for some people, but not for me. Too culty, not very friendly and I don't get as good a workout as I do at other studios.
Fantastic experience: I thought I hated spin class until I tried Ride! I had to be coerced to go but since the first class is free, I thought why not. I'm now addicted! Yes the music is loud and yes sometimes it's hard to hear the instructor, but I just watch them or others in class and figure it out. The choreography is so fun and I love how it's pitch black but with candles/lights at certain times. I feel amazing after the classes! So far, I have had Brandon, Kyle and Sarah as instructors and all have been amazing instructors who really encourage and push you!
Fantastic experience: My wife and I are hooked to RCC. We go twice a week. Awesome instructors and great music to keep the energy up
Howe! Wow! Thanks so much for the kind words! We hope to keep those beats coming for you.
Fantastic experience: The best workout!!
Janet, thank you so much! Its a blast to have you in class with us.
Fantastic experience: 10/10 for fun. It took me a looooot of classes to get the hang of it, enjoy the process of learning. I prefer this to SoulCycle 10:1. Better music, better instructors, better facilities, better vibe. I've worked out at most places in LA/NYC, and so far there is nothing like this! Ashley you're a gem. Grab a friend and go now.
Lisa, thank you for sharing your experiences with us - we are proud of what we have created and I am so glad to hear that our experience is top notch in a very competitive industry!
Negative experience: Im from out of town and took an Uber to get here. Class started at 12 and I got there at 12:02. They would not let me into class. Pretty poor client service if you ask me.
Hi Karma, I am so sorry for the experience you received. We understand that each rider coming through our doors is taking time out of their day to participate in the ride experience with us. We try our very best to value our riders time and provide an on time experience so they can continue with their day. If you are ever in the Vancouver area again, please try us again, and I assure you we won't disappoint.
Negative experience: music is super loud and what is up with the candles and lighters? all the hopping around on the bike didn't really add to my workout. Come if you want a dance class on a spin bike with cult-like seance vibes in pitch darkness. Don't come if are a cyclist that cares about pushing power not just RPMs. Ear drums beware. Extra.
Hi Cynthia, thank you for your response and I apologize that the RIDE experience wasn't for you. There are a lot of great options out there when it comes to indoor cycling and we appreciate that you took some time to try and give us a shot.
Fantastic experience: You’ll never have a spin class like this. The team is somehow always on point and full of energy. Spinning in the dark has this mediative quality that’s akin to Shavasana on crack. It’s insanely hard the first time but it’s also incredibly addictive.
Fantastic experience: One of the best studios in the city.
Negative experience: Studio is clean, nice amenities, really friendly helpful staff. This just is not my kind of spin class/ride style. I’m an avid Flywheel spinner (4-6x a week) and I’m someone who appreciates stats, data, and pushing myself further with each class. Ride is more similar to Soul Cycle, in that you’re riding to the beat, sort of dancing around, etc. This is appealing to many people, but I prefer straightforward instructions while knowing how hard I’m pushing. Spinning in complete darkness with no idea how hard my torq should be is not what motivates me, personally. I did get a good sweat, but started doing my own thing especially since I couldn’t hear instructions too well with the music. Again, this vibe of class is perfect for many people, but if you’re someone who likes competition and more preciseness, you may not enjoy as much.
Fantastic experience: Good music, fun ride. Loud but you can grab ear plugs if needed.
Fantastic experience: Great place. Great spacious change rooms...awesome classes. If you need a place to go and sweat out the toxins, Ride is hard d to beat
Fantastic experience: Easily one of the most anticipated reviews we've done in a while (bc some of the coolest people in our lives speak insanely highly of this place) and it did not disappoint. The classes are similar to other spin studios that are killing it in Toronto, like 6ix Cycle, SoulCycle, Spokehaus etc. in that they're set in a dark room, include choreography for a full-body workout that stresses "riding as one", and a playlist that's just as important as the bikes themselves. But what sets Ride apart is how they've combined these ingredients. The result is an addictive, super loud, heavy beat, hardcore AF, serious-about-sweating ride that will, more often than not, be in total blackness. We get it, now. We'll be back...after we buy a new all-black outfit and google SahBabii. Cool, cool.
Fantastic experience: Really awesome vibe in this studio, very trendy/hipster clientele. The staff is really nice and the instructors I have taken have all done a great job. The sound quality isn't the best and can be a little muffled when the instructor is speaking. But still one of the best studios in toronto hands down.
Fantastic experience: This place is fantastic. The class schedule is awesome, even if the only time you can attend is 6am. Classes fill up fast, but it's nice that you can reserve your bike up to a week in advance. The instructors are great. Sometimes the music can get a bit too loud to hear the instructor, but it depends on the class. The facilities are exceptionally clean; shampoo, face wash, styling products, hair dryers and fresh towels are all provided. The staff are always friendly and available to answer any questions you have. Thumbs up.
Fantastic experience: Hands down my favourite spin studio in the City. The music coupled with the energy from every instructor is intoxicating.
Fantastic experience: Great spot for a workout!
Fantastic experience: Great crowd and even better instructors it is well worth the money if you want a seriously intense work out.
Positive experience: The staff are all very welcoming and helpful, and the facilities were very clean and modern- it definitely felt like a high- end fitness experience! My only constructive feedback would be to turn the music down a bit, and turn up the mic for the instructor. :)
Fantastic experience: Love this place! Great instructors and fantastic facilities! I'm hooked!
Fantastic experience: Awesome classes, atmosphere and amenities.
Fantastic experience: Ride Cycle Club challenges you both mentally and physically. Amazing workout. I leave every class feeling unbelievable! Thanks Ride!
Fantastic experience: Best cycle club in town. Clean, great atmosphere and the trainers are awesome. Highly recommend.
Fantastic experience: Instruction and music are top notch! Friendly and helpful front desk staff. Can't wait to see permanent location!
