Fantastic experience: Very friendly, highly professional people on a desk,

Negative experience: This planet fitness upon joining and it was clearly written over the offer that I have received that it will be free till December 17,2024. When I cancel the membership the advisor who cancelled also assured me that I will not be charged but still they have charged me $31. Now the justification is that it is clearly mentioned in the contract that there has to be 7 days notice which they did not bother to pinpoint when I joined the planet fitness. It's heads-up to those people who are planning to join carefully ready the contract there are hidden costs and they will shed the light when you leave the planet fitness.

Negative experience: My only complaint is that there are always people sitting on equipment scrolling on their phones . I'm left to walk around waiting to use the equipment. Wasting my time . ... Planet Fitness should enforce that phones be left in a locker before entering the gym floor

Negative experience: Black card = unlimited use of whatever you wish to use. Maybe when questioning your members write notes on the ones you’ve already harassed.

Negative experience: Don't waste your time or money unless you work a regular Monday-Friday job. The hours on weekends or holidays make it so restrictive that if you work anything outside of a 9-5, you'll be very disappointed with the availability of the gym. The machines available are nice, but you are extremely limited in free weights. Nobody who works here seems to really care all that much. If you are even the tiniest bit serious about going to the gym, go somewhere else. This isn't a gym for serious people. It's also apparently totally acceptable to wear outdoor shoes in this gym. I watched 3 guys in a row wear their outdoor shoes into the locker room, and only 1 of those 3 guys changed from his outdoor shoes into a pair of gym shoes. When I complained to a staff member about it they said Planet Fitness doesn't have an official policy on shoes except that they can't be open toed.

Fantastic experience: Clean gym. However, when I tried to take a shower, I was amazed that it was old and not comfortable at all.

Positive experience: This is my first experience at the gym, and I am amazed at how great it is to start here at Planet Fitness. The equipment available meets my needs, and they offer bonus classes for free when you are a Black PF member. Additionally, you can enjoy 10 minutes of unlimited chair massage, 10 minutes of hydromassage, 10 minutes of total body enhancement, and 8 minutes or more for tanning. The washrooms are spacious and well-maintained, and the staff is friendly. To extend your chair massage by an additional 10 minutes, you need to make a request at the front desk. However, I have noticed that the staff sometimes appear hesitant or uncomfortable when accommodating these requests, which can feel a bit awkward. Despite this concern, I would recommend this gym to anyone looking for a great place to start their fitness journey.

Negative experience: Goodlife IS WAY BETTER! Planet Fitness is great if ur a beginner or only do cardio, but if you want to do some serious lifting then go to a real gym that has squat racks and bumper plates. Also they don't offer personal training only poor quality fitness training which Is small group sessions that no one really does. Also they have no professional cleaners, so the poor minimum wage staff have to clean the WHOLE gym by hand, and membership prices isnt even worth it, when you can even go to fit 4 less, for $26 a month and get better quality equipment and heavier weights. I can see why everyone is cancelling their memberships with PF!

Fantastic experience: I LOVE that this LARGE and NEW fitness facility is closeby and completely AFFORDABLE for everyone! Fitness is fundamental for a healthy lifestyle and I'm glad I'm able to utilize this nearby facility! Tonnes of equipment so that one is usually always available! I love all their relaxation and revitalizing equipment such as massage chairs, water massage table and Red light Therapy (they also have tanning). The staff are pleasant and helpful! Hope everyone in the neighborhood joins to enjoy this great facility and asset to our community!

Fantastic experience: The regulars that go here are normal people, very friendly atmosphere, no one's staring giving that alpha look. The cardio equipment is never fully taken up even at peak busy hours. There is 4 smith machines, and 2 multi gym cable machines, 2 of each leg machine, one leg press, and 2 of each body part machine. The average age seems to be 30s. Just as much females as males so it's comfortable for both sexes. The best tanning bed is number 3 as they just recently switched the bulbs out, i spent 30 days in a row tanning here and showed my barely tanned skin to the staff one day then a week later they fixed bed 3 and ive seen major results. The massage and hydro massage always clean and smells fresh. The manager is very efficient and runs his crew very well to keep a very smooth running gym and atmosphere. Bring an extra pair of shoes so you don't bring in the snow/mud/dirt. The lockers require a lock in the change rooms.

Fantastic experience: The cost benefit rewards are huge. Lot's of equipment so no waiting, staff are excellent, and the extra benefits of the black card make the price of admission worth it alone!

Positive experience: Pros: Lots of equipment available, so I rarely have to wait for a machine, even at busy times. The staff are always polite and helpful. The music is at a comfortable volume, not too loud. The change rooms are clean and spacious, which is always a plus. Cons: Several machines need maintenance: the seated row has loose handles, the leg press has a loose weight increment knob, and the ab cruncher has warped handles. The hand dryer in the bathroom blows freezing cold air, which is uncomfortable and dysfunctional. The main workout area could use better lighting—it's a bit dim. There aren’t enough mats in the functional training area (only about five), and the space is a bit cramped. Creating gaps between equipment would allow for more space to work out. Overall, it's okay. Given the low membership cost, it's understandable to encounter a few drawbacks. However, with a few repairs and small improvements, this gym could easily be much better!

Fantastic experience: Amazing staff, gym was immaculate in terms of cleanliness.

Positive experience: Pros: - cheap Cons: -Water machine has been broken the entire summer (3+ months). -Bathrooms don't have any Kleenex -30 min yellow machine section is never used. Complete waste of space. -people have no idea to use equipment

Positive experience: Neat and clean but good for beginners. Not enough equipment for advanced athletes

Negative experience: If I could give less than 1 star, I would. The staff at the White Oaks PF location is by far the worst staff I have ever had to encounter while trying to go to the gym. Every time I’ve tried to go here, I have regretted it. The staff is rarely accessible, every time I have had to wait at least 3-4 minutes before someone even shows up to check me in, I’ve had nothing but issues while trying to bring any guests with me to work out, despite the fact that I have a black card membership. Often if there is multiple young staff members present they will be too occupied chit chatting to assist you. The young, short, Pakistani/ Hindu girl in particular is the most consistently unhelpful and displeasing person to deal with especially considering she’s in a job where she’s working in customer service. My experience today has made me strongly consider cancelling my membership and switching gyms, if not I at the very least will not ever return to this location. If you live north side and are considering a planet fitness membership- don’t. Go with any other gym or be willing to travel to a further location.

Fantastic experience: Love this place

Negative experience: Customer service was terrible , on the app it says AMENITIES; not BLACK CARD AMENITIES. The English I speak AMENITIES is something I can use or do or available to me. Manager was rude so was the workers. Was going to get an actual membership to this place once the summer is done but nope GoodLife WAY BETTER guys trust. Never coming back to this place again. False advertising.

Negative experience: Had stopped by on June 19th to cancel my membership since I have not used it even once since signing up.(my check in on my app says June 19, 12:03pm) There were 3 employees chatting behind the front desk, and one was leaving but was around the front desk area. I remember the girl who was leaving specifically because we had walked out at the same time but they were all prioritizing their conversations. Told the girl helping me that I was in to cancel my membership, she asked to take my photo which I found odd because I was in to cancel. She took my photo, I stood there as she did something on the computer and then she didn’t say much after that, she looked up and I asked if that was everything and she yes and I left. And a month later I have another charge, checked my account and seen that there is another payment set to come out in august. Called the location and the front desk had said there was nothing stating I had cancelled. I told her the situation, I asked her about a refund and she told me that I most likely won’t be getting a refund because there’s no proof that I went in to cancel and there was a miscommunication. I would encourage management to look at the camera footage. This was not a miscommunication, this was carelessness. I had never used my membership, this was my first time actually walking into a planet fitness and I specifically went in to cancel and left immediately after speaking to the front desk. Today, I had also asked the front desk to ask management to give me a call once they were in regarding this situation to get a refund but she said since I will be going to another location to cancel she said I could speak to that manager to put in my complaint, which I don’t find appropriate because my home location is the location that did not process my cancellation when asked Update: the difference in atmospheres from the Sherwood Park location compared to White Oaks is day and night. 100% recommend going to the Sherwood Park location.

Fantastic experience: Awesome gym they also offer tanning with the black card it's affordable and you get use of massage bed and massage chairs to relax post workout. Gym is quiet big has lots of equipment for strength training and lots of cardio options

Fantastic experience: The atmosphere is very pleasant because the temperature is always good. The staff is very friendly and helpful when I have a question.

Negative experience: There is little supervision by staff to ensure rules are being followed. The 30m workout is constantly being used randomly when those same machines are on the floor. I’ve noticed an influx of young teenagers that just come to hang out being loud texting while sitting on machines. People are there to workout not play around.

Fantastic experience: I live in Vancouver now and visiting family and it’s so great that the policy is flexible and I can just pay for a month and cancel with no obligations. I wish we had one in downtown Vancouver. They have plenty of equipment for everyone and it’s very clean. Friendly staff as well

Fantastic experience: Gym is Clean and unlimited tanning and black card is at a great membership price. No hidden fees or contracts .I will definitely recommend Planet fitness to friends.

Negative experience: Today I visited at this location with my husband here, Worst experience, poor communication, lack of knowledge that’s why the lady at the reception she was showing us the contract of the gym that was ridiculous, because she said you are not allowed for full access. We went at this location first time because it’s near to my workplace, but we never experience worst service at another locations other locations are better than this. I will not recommend anyone for this location. They should have to choose another location for planet fitness instead of this location.

Fantastic experience: The gym is always clean and the staffs are friendly and welcoming. The guy also has enough space and equipments to accommodate everyone. I would sure recommend this location. It's my best so far.

Fantastic experience: Excellent facility

Negative experience: Don't advertise a free day pass to try out the gym and then rescind the offer when people actually come in to try, and make them pay $23.99 for a day pass. I was batting back & forth to switch gyms and now I'm not interested at all. It's pretty basic to allow people to try it out to ensure they like it before paying all the enrollment fees etc. Edit: The girl at the desk on 04/28 at 10am told me that this location does not do or honor free trials, no exceptions as per her manager.

Fantastic experience: Aa compare to there monthly plan. Gym environment is really great. They have mostly machine in the gym plus it not much crowded. I don’t have to wait for machine too much. And plus for premium membership they do have massage chair and special fitness area. They even have special training class with trainer to whom anyone can book from there app.

Positive experience: Please change your sanitizer wipes and cleaning products ( I feel it just like water mostly) as it doesn't strong enough to get rid of some sticky smells from the gym chairs and equipment. I have been to millennium place in Sherwood park gym , they used much better sanitizer wipe that get clean better the chair.

Fantastic experience: Staff are great. Equipment is easy to use. Lots of regular people young and older. Have trainers available if you so choose.

Fantastic experience: Great gym. Lots of equipment, great floor work area, clean change rooms. It can get busy, but what gym doesn't. Sometimes equipment isn't put away, but again that happens at any gym. As a whole, for the price of a basic membership, it's worth 5 stars.

Fantastic experience: I just recently started thinking about going back to a gym, and after looking at a few options, I made the great decision to join PF. * The gym is kept immaculate, with constant cleaning going on. * The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, always ready to answer any questions I had. * The services available, from the equipment to the tanning rooms, the red light therapy, and bring a friend option, etc included in the membership, are unbeatable for the price. * The free classes are varied, hitting on different points. Something for everyone! * Awesome music * Last but not least..Training with Fatimah. Went in for my first class, and she was amazing. Encouraging, fun, but still pushed me to try my best with various exercises, and a great plan to keep me moving forward. Awesome place.

Fantastic experience: I have been a member at Planet Fitness for almost 2 months now. The number one reason for my 5-star rating is the facility's cleanliness - every time I'm at the gym, staff are mopping the floor, dusting the machines and refilling the paper towel dispensers. There are plenty of cardio machines available, so there is never a wait for those. The app has a crowd meter feature, which tells you approximately how busy it is at any given time in the day. I have to say that this doesn't influence my decision to go/not go though! This location recently added some metal shoe racks at the front entrance, which is great. I would recommend adding some benches so that people can sit down when they are changing their shoes.

Positive experience: Mostly a great gym. Staff are friendly. I'm rating 3 due to a few things that I hope will change. 1- the dumbells only go up to 75lbs I believe it it. So my friend won't even come to the gym with me for this reason. PF is missing out on potential memberships cause of this. 2- they should start using wipes instead of stupid paper towel that just absorbs what I spray anyways and barely cleans machine. 3- waaaaaay too many cardio machines. We can use a few more different machines like a lying down hamstring curl or squat machine with the strap (dunno the proper name) but no it's filled with cardio machines that are not even a quarter filled anytime I'm there. Fantastic experience: Just joined on jan 30 with my son that is the first time for him to join a gym .i like the machines how there engineered and set up and my son loves coming here with me .its clean and staff are very freindly .Just one thing I'd like to add the calf machine they have is not safe .I'd suggest them removing it and getting a standing up type or the seated type .it's very awkward the one they have

Negative experience: Worst gym ever. Not clean at all. Horrible staff. Their cancelation policy sucks. They dont accept an email but want a letter. By the time the letter makes it i still will get charged. So stupid

Negative experience: This is NOT a gym I would recommend for anyone with higher physical fitness levels. Staff does not know how to properly address issues and concerns. The other commercial gyms are better and they don't run the place with stupid rules that they can't even properly communicate.

Fantastic experience: I have been so scared and full of anxiety about joining a gym after 20 years. My health struggles with fibromyalgia and poor lung function after COVID kept me too embarrassed to go to the gym. I was referred by a friend and did some research on Planet Fitness and joined a few weeks ago. The staff is very friendly and the other members have been very pleasant. I have only started with the treadmill trying to coax my body into cooperating with the gym. Slow and steady for this girl! I have been doing red light therapy and hydromassage and it has made such a huge difference already in my pain levels. I cannot do regular massage as my fibromyalgia makes it painful. With the hydromassage I can set the pressure and site and it has been a game changer! Hopefully this is just the beginning to taking my body back!

Fantastic experience: I've been a customer at this PF location for almost a year now since they opened and it it's great! The early morning staff: Zain and her colleagues are welcoming and will answer any questions you have and they help to create a friendly environment. The gym itself has a lot of equipment and majority of them have a QR code that you can scan just for simple instructions on how to use. The gym use area and the women's locker room is also kept clean, tidy, and free from any tripping hazards, and clutter. Thanks!

Fantastic experience: Great gym, chill environment and clean.

Positive experience: I like this location, it's got just what you need to workout, free weights, smith machines, cable machines and is relatively clean. The only area that I think needs more attention for cleaning is the showers. Too much hair on the walls constantly. But otherwise happy with it all around. It's usually least busy in the mornings after 9 am, but always gets packed in the evening after 4pm so be prepared for that.

Positive experience: Average location compared to Sherwood Park and Bonnie Doon. Lingering smell of unpleasant body odour and musk going into the men's change room. They need to do something about that.

Positive experience: First time after years of moving in to Edmonton from a bigger city that I finally found a beautifully clean well maintained modern type gym! Up to date equipment and very clean not to mention the amount of each equipment so no wait to just jump right in! Great environment with super clean and spacious locker room with clean showers. Management and front desk team on Tuesday May 23rd was super friendly and professional and actually offered a free day pass when I was actually planning to pay for it. Honestly nothing negative to say! Will definitely return when in the area.
