Negative experience: Drove all the way from Rocky Mountain House only to find that it's closed. Wasted so much gas for nothing - please update when you're setting or whenever the walls are closed.

Positive experience: Great place for kids to burn some energy

Fantastic experience: Booked the fun zone and climbing for my kiddo's birthday party and it was a blast. The staff were super awesome and really help in making it a fun day. The custom 'Happy Birthday" poster was the cherry on top. You guys ROCK!

Fantastic experience: Best birthday party ever! We didn’t book a package but just a 1 hr slot for 5 kids at the fun zone. The staff were professional and very helpful, especially when one of our girls was scared to come down- she gave great advice and managed to make a scary moment an empowering one. The fun zone has 9 different areas, some easier and some very difficult. I would advise coming 10 minutes early so you have time to get everything stowed away, harnesses on and a quick tutorial so you can start right on time. The zone had approx 11 kids and we found that typically there wasn’t much of a wait with that many. The favourite climbing areas would sometimes be a wait of about 5 minutes but there was always something open, with 15 kids I don’t think it would seem too crowded either. Also, you can rent shoes if needed! But bring non marking shoes to save some money.

Fantastic experience: The staff are really helpful and nice. They change the walls often so it's always a challenge. They have a very relaxed feel to the place. I really enjoy hanging out there climbing and visiting with people.

Positive experience: Great place with top of the line equipment, easy to self navigate. Only complaint is the entrance is not obvious, the east side with the Large sign facing the highway is the gymnastics entrance, and the climbing entrance is on the west side with a small sign above the door.

Fantastic experience: Very friendly and welcoming staff. Always very clean and well kept. My young child took climbing lessons and absolutely loved it. The fun zone is great for all ages and an exciting place for birthday parties. The party area is very spacious and conveniently located near the fun zone.

Fantastic experience: Pretty neat place. My daughter loved the fun zone. I think the fun zone price could be a few bucks cheaper in my opinion but still a great experience overall.

Negative experience: Call to see if spots open gets put on hold for 20 minutes. Get there basically get denied service because of Bday party. Would have been nice if could have told us that over the phone. Pretty big let down and waste of time.

Fantastic experience: Great staff, very welcoming, good route setting and a large variety of routes for all levels. They update/add new routes all the time so it doesn't get stale. Glad to have this place in Red Deer.

Positive experience: Though the kids did have fun in the “fun zone” for my sons 9th birthday…. as a solo parent who showed up with the 1/4 ratio of kids to adults…. I would recommend that being reduced or more informed. Do not expect to be able to climb too (glad I didn’t pay to climb though they asked when checking in) if you are the only one clipping and unclipping kids from each obstacle. It was excessively overwhelming and not one of the 4/5 staff members I seen on their phones or talking up front were around to help me (except once when the fella who harnessed them in and did the rule talk was walking by to quick check the area and maybe one occasion helped when asked by one of the “braver” kids who was waiting for me to help them). Not enough assistance or care. I was sweating just running from kid to kid.

Negative experience: Was suppose to have the whole kids zone to our selfs for a birthday paid extra and they started letting people in 15 min early. So we had to wait to do some of the climbs.

Fantastic experience: My girlfriend and I came here for our first experience climbing/bouldering and had a blast. It's a smaller gym but has a lot for its size. The staff were amazing and made us feel very welcome, especially as beginners. They gave us a very thorough tour of the gym and simply explained the equipment we were going to be using. They went out of their way to check in with us about an hour into our session to make sure everything was going good. We were very impressed and will definitely be back

They have 2 different areas regular rock climbing with different walls and then a fun zone area which is a must try for all. Plus they have 1 big party area with a foosball table to play with to have birthday parties.

Fantastic experience: When I walked in I was underwhelmed by the size (edmontons bouldering gym is very large) and thought I spent $18 for maybe an hours climbing. I was pleasantly surprised with what was done with the small bouldering section. I spent almost 3h here and didn't do all I wanted to. Great gym, I will be back again.

Negative experience: Truly disappointed…I expected more from the website and since Red Deer is so big. My sister and I took our kids on spring break. They are all new climbers…4 kids in total, there are only 3 spots with carabiner ability since we are not certified climbers. One wall!!! We paid $100 in total and they only had 3 spots they could climb….in the website it states the fun zone has a drop in….nope we were told it didn’t open till 4. This has limited “fun” for groups of people who are not certified and limited fun for kids.

Positive experience: Went in on family day Monday and it was very busy (not their fault). What was a little disheartening was they offered a tour around to explain the facility and then staff was busy with a large group and we ended up just figuring a few things out ourselves. We finally had someone explain the auto belay systems and our harnesses. They explained there were three auto belay systems (3 sections of wall = 3 climbers) and that we were allowed to use them but not the other wall routs where you would need to belay a friend (many open and unused the entire time we were there). In order to use the other walls you must take a $75 - 2 hour belay course on a Monday in order to learn to belay your partner. Due to this we were limited to the three walls in which a family of 6 rotated their kids through while we were stuck standing and watching them. My boyfriend luckily enjoyed the free climbing wall in which you are not hooked up to the belay rope system- but for myself who is less comfortable without the system I paid $28 to watch others climb. They should explain that you are unable to use the majority of the walls before purchasing and consider installing more auto-belay systems. The fun zone looked cool but was fully booked and books far in advance we hear. Just disappointed that I spent so much time and got to climb the wall halfway 2 times. Looks like a cool facility I wish I could have used and enjoyed.

Positive experience: A nice little climbing gym in Red Deer. I’m no expert climber but it seemed well put together. My only complaints were that the bouldering section is a bit small compared to other gyms I’ve been to. Also, I would say the runs are fairly challenging compared to some other gyms I’ve been to, so this may not be a great place to learn.
