Positive experience: The gym seems to finally be getting its stuff together. Broken equipment is fixed. Amenities are 24/7. Everything is great. However, I know it’s unstaffed at night - but maybe it shouldn’t be? Last winter, there was a guy who was definitely sleeping there at night, and he would mean mug anybody else who was in there. As if we were invading his space. Just a few weeks ago, I saw a guy sleeping in there again. This doesn’t seem safe. Please do something about it.

Fantastic experience: I love this gym. I have a black card membership and the free tanning and massage chairs are awesome. There's a location closer to my house but I travel the extra distance to go to this one because it's set out so nicely. It just feels right, great lighting and tons of room. Bathrooms are always clean, water fountain is great, and lots of cleaning stations. They're constantly restocking paper towels and emptying the garbages. Yeah there's usually out of order machines, but that's what happens when tons of newbies pile in and smash the machines to bits by using them completely wrong. I've seen the staff correct people several times when they're basically letting go of the cable machines and letting the weights free fall. I go either morning or night time. If you go at peak times then expect to have to shuffle your workout around to not have a lot of waiting time, like every commerical gym ever in the history of gyms... I'm not sure what people expect for 10 bucks a month? Don't like it, pay more money or get a home gym. The entitlement is unreal.

If you read through the reviews, every review which has under 3 stars has the exact same template reply which goes like this: "Hi {UserName}. We’re sorry to see you have not had a great experience. Positive experience: Such a great price for what you get out of it. I really miss the GoodLife that used to be here, because the community around fit for less is much less inclusive. Realistically though, if all you need is a spot to quickly work out and then leave, this will do the job for quite cheap.

Negative experience: The worst customer service I’ve ever seen not just from a gym but a business in general. Only concerned about collecting as much money as they can from you before cutting you loose without any reason, proof, or reasoning. Do yourself a favour and DO NOT sign up to this gym. Your better off doing push-ups because all the machines are always out of order anyways. Huge thumbs down for fit for less

Negative experience: If I could give negative stars I would. This gym is a scam, they take your money against your own will. I signed up a year ago and I’ve moved countries so I don’t need their service. I don’t mind paying the rest of the month out but to pay the annual fee for something I want to cancel is absurd. Their manager Alexandra was extremely rude, she also refused to show me the contract with the fine print that I signed off and asked me to leave when I kept asking to see the documentation as any professional establishment should have those records on file if your that confident to take money and hold it hostage. All in all horrible gym, customer service, half the machines are broken, no shower and it’s packed with a younger audience. But hey what can you expect from a gym that’s called Fitforless. Learn from my mistake and if you respect yourself and your gymming career, DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS FAMBOOZALMENT of a business.

Fantastic experience: I have been in many gyms in the Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa areas and have been a member at fit4less for 4 years, cannot compare prices anywhere hands down the best rates on the market, staff are very friendly and helpful, Riverside has showers, tanning rooms, and hydro beds with regular massage chairs!! What are you waiting for, as well I am a health coach and personal trainer but not for the gym:)

Negative experience: I had an absolutely terrible experience with Fit4Less. They charged me seven payments in one month when I was only supposed to pay only twice a month! Despite having cancelled my membership, they still continued to charge me without any explanation or attempt to resolve the issue. I won’t blame their customer service staff, because they are just employees and don’t have the power to make any decisions but It felt like they were more interested in taking my money than providing any sort of customer care. To anyone considering joining Fit4Less, STAY AWAY. They are completely unprofessional and unreliable. This gym is a nightmare, and I regret ever signing up. Save yourself the headache and find a gym that actually values its members and doesn’t scam them out of their hard-earned money.

Positive experience: This review is for Fit4less location at Walkley road Ottawa. I would give 5 star when I see staff cleaning the areas and equipment like at riverside south location. But compared to my earlier review I edited it now as I see improvement after repairs.

Negative experience: Those machine take forever to fix, I have wait for someone to finish the machine I use , whenever I go I'm the afternoon, if want to ot wait I have to go in the morning. I spoke to stuff about they try blame people for it, why would you blame people for broken machine, people broke a machine. It has bee like 3 month, me too I ordered think from China, it doesn't take 3 months.

Negative experience: I was a member for 5 years and I can say this is the worst gym in history WORST STAFF when I went to sign up for a membership, they referred me to the website when I wanted to change personal information they referred me to the website when I wanted to inquire about charges they asked me to wait a few days for the manager and they didn’t have any of their contact information When I wanted to cancel my membership they seriously did not open the door for me and asked me to do it through their machine Although it is a 24/7 gym, the staff aren’t there all the time so if you lose your card, you’re just gonna have to come during staffed hours EQUIPMENT You can expect a minimum 20% of equipment being damaged/not working At least 40% of their treadmills either do not work or insanely shake at medium speeds The massagers can only be turned on by staff making it frustrating given they are only in 11 am - 4 pm on weekends and 7 am - 10 pm on weekdays FEES FEES FEES When you lose your card, they charge you a fee for replacement which is outrageous considering it’s free in most gyms There’s a $25 charge for missing one payment. The charge is more than the cost of the payment missed. There’s an annual fee that you get charged with no heads up OVERALL If you’re just starting out, are in high school, or are working with a budget, this may be a fit for you. However, if you are serious about lifting, are an athlete, looking for a PT, want to achieve your goals by using FUNCTIONAL machines, I strongly suggest you spend a few extra dollars and go to GOODLIFE. The managers there will give you a tour and walk you through all the memberships they have while answering any questions. They have personal trainers who can charge either per session or per month Replacing a lost card is FREE and takes less than 30 seconds. The staff are there 24/7 and will help you locate and show you how to use the machines. The place is double the size of fit4less The changing rooms are HUGE, they have group fitness, there’s never a machine that isn’t working, They have a Sauna, turf zone, functional showers, a towel service, and group cycling While the two companies are owned by the same parent company, they are COMPLETE opposites of each other

Positive experience: This gym gets too much unnecessary hate. It has everything you need to meet your fitness goals. The workers are extremely polite and warm. The membership is one of, if not the cheapest in the city. The biggest downsides are the ”Currently in Maintenance” broken machines and the lack of variety in machines (would be amazing if they had a standing calve raise machine, or incline chest press machine).

Negative experience: Cancelled our memberships. Not for semi serious lifters. No Chalk. No platforms. No rubber plates. Deadlifts are okay until you hit 4 plates then it gets really loud. Staffs are awesome though.

Negative experience: Honestly if I could give them zero stars I would, been a member since 2015 and since moving to Ottawa this is by far the worst gym I've ever been to. it's dirty and some of the equipment has been out of order since I've been going to this location since (2017) not to mention the lack of available equipment and the fact lockers are so small you can't even fit a proper duffel bag. happy to say I canceled my membership and going to pay more to not deal with there garbage.

Fantastic experience: Alissa was phenomenal! I’m very impressed by how eager and willing she was to provide me with a tour. She didn’t make me feel like I was bothering her and she went above and beyond in explaining the amenities! She is an asset to the company for sure and really I’m so impressed with her level of client service! Additionally, this facility is fantastic! I was at GoodLife down the road but did not feel I was getting my money’s worth. This location has way more to offer at a much lower price and is extremely clean!!! I’m very happy I made the switch! Positive experience: My experience at Fit4Less was decent overall. Mornings tend to be less crowded, and the staff are responsive, ensuring the common areas are kept clean. Negative experience: Some rude staff. Machines are always broken down but take 6 months to one year to fix.
Positive experience: The equipment isn't maintained very well. There is a lot of out of order signs on the same equipment for months.

Negative experience: Not a bad gym to start off with in terms of accessing machines and starting your gym journey based on the price of the membership. However, their staff members are not exactly friendly and they don't see to go above and beyond for clients if their staff makes an error which is disappointing. I recently called in to cancel my membership and was told that I would still need to pay 2 payments in January as they needed 30 days notice to cancel which was fine. I ended up signing up at another gym because I moved and cannot come to this location anymore. To my surprise, it seems that person that "cancelled" my membership didn't do that because I got charged for February! When I called in to see if I could be refunded for February and show proof of a 10 minute phone call from January they said "there's nothing we can do and it won't make a difference" and would need to be charged for February until my membership is cancelled in 30 days.

Negative experience: Broken machines keep piling up with no repair in site. Moving the machines around and creating a "black card only" area doesn't help when the rest of the gym can't be used. A maintenance sign is not a substitute for actual maintenance, it's been months!

Negative experience: Not as good as the Kanata location. Rude front staff on entering. Change rooms just a stall without a mirror, not connected to bathroom or showers. Lockers outside in the common area and too small to hold anything. Large amount of broken equipment. No gym courtesy - Lots of entitled gym goers trying to reserve multiple pieces of equipment at one time and no one wiping down their machines after use (although this might have had something to do with the lack of paper towels in the dispensers)

Positive experience: The staff is extremely friendly, but the weight lifting machines are generally in a state of disrepair. The latest changes to the layout in the gym just do not flow as well and it seems like everything is in a perpetual state of maintenance.
Negative experience: I've been trying to cancel my membership for so long and I'm so Fed up. I wanted to avoid the annual charge since I moved and I just got charged yesterday. So great. Every time I call, no one answers or I get "User Busy". Every single time. One time someone answered then hung up on me. I can't physically go to the gym because I moved to the country. My last hope at a cancellation and refund is leaving this review. If nothing happens then this really is the worst place.

Negative experience: Just cancelled my membership after about 2 years. Same complaint as some I've seen below... very very very poor maintenance of broken machines. Pec decks are always broken for some reason. Mostly decent customer service, but a few staff and manager could work on their customer service skills (immediate past and present manager). Want you to upgrade to black membership just to have access to a basic squat rack. Black member section and tiny and not worth the upgrade (unless you really need a squat rack)

Fantastic experience: I was working out at this Fit4Less pre-pandemic and my main complaint at the time was that the dumbbells only went up to 75lbs. Otherwise, the gym is clean, the staff are friendly, and it's always easy to park. Recently, they added a Black Card Workout Area, which was a black card perk available at certain locations but not here. At long last, the dumbbells get a little heavier! My main complaint now is that machine maintenance and repair is a little on the slow side. Some machines sit with those annoying pink "Maintenance in Progress" signs for months, and it's more than a little frustrating. That said, a repair sweep was done recently that fixed several problems. Overall, I recommend this gym and I suggest paying for the black card annually to mitigate any sudden price increase.

Negative experience: Crustiest gym in Ottawa. I know it’s called “Fit4Less” but you’re really getting LESS compared to other locations for the same price. There’s at least 12 broken machines at all times. There’s no stairmaster. People don’t ever wipe their equipment or put away their weights. Oh and the men to women ratio is ridiculously high. Do yourself a favour and join a nicer Fit4Less.

Negative experience: I ended up cancelling my membership to switch gyms. Although this Fit4Less has showers and water fountains it is the WORST for equipment. The one at Blair is way better. Sadly it's too far for me. This gym needs a serious renovation. You are paying the same price as other Fit4Less gyms but this one has very limited/broken equipment and stuff doesn't get fixed for months. I gave it 2.5 stars because it has a water fountain and showers.
Positive experience: I love this gym, but I wish that the upkeep was a little better. The leg press machine has been broken for months. It's inexcusable. As with all the cable machines that have the cables disconnected, and wrapped around the machine to let you know they're not working. Fix that. Please. The black card benefits are not even the same as they were when I signed up, they are less. What the hell am I paying for?
Negative experience: 1/4 of the equipment is broken at any given day. If you commute to the gym, you're way better going off to the Ogilvie fit4less location. Does have some useful equipment such as a hip-thrust station but no other luxuries such as a standing calf station (only in black card area for ogilvie). Also, no black card section. Overall, it's alright but better off going to another location if you can.

Positive experience: You can’t beat the pricing. So, you get what you pay for. At one location I’m pressing 100 and at this location 150. Machines are not in the greatest of shape and maintenance signs are normally on a few machines. I even overheard an employee (NOT AT THIS LOCATION) that “everything is broken”. Not a good look, but you get what you pay for and I think that 2nd/3rd generation Good Life equipment is what’s in use at F4L. Friendly enough employees and this location has showers for use again; 6/8 one person shower rooms I think (they were closed during COVID). If it were a little more convenient I’d probably use this location more often.

Negative experience: The Lebanese girl that was working on the date of June 28-2023,at the time 5:20 was really rude and disrespectful and she was talking in unprofessional way and the reason is because I forgot the physical card of the membership and I gave her the phone number for the verification and she wasn’t accepting to solve the situation, honestly I’m gonna cancel this membership ship because I’m not going to this gym for free I’m paying and I’d like to be treated in respectful way .

Negative experience: There are alot of machines which are broken and they got showers with no temperature control. Imagine you had an intense workout but you gotta shower with hot water and also there is no need to get black membership because you can’t use the massage machine until they turn on for you and most of the times there is no one the front desk. Also you can’t leave gym before half an hour and come back because your card wont work!! I don’t recommend this gym go to anytime fitness its way better than this!

Negative experience: This is a great facility with lots of space but there are many machines that have been broken for months. Two thirds of the treadmills have “under maintenance” signs on them. Update: 4 months after posting this review; there are even less functional treadmills. Seriously, they are all broken or unusable in some way. Update: contacted company through social media 10 days ago as instructed. Message hasn’t been opened.

Fantastic experience: It's a gym, u get what u expect. If u want a spa, look elsewhere. That being said, there is still a lot you get with this gym that blows my mind. For the monthly price it's awesome. Massage chairs, hydro beds, tanning beds, resistance machines, free weights whatever workout u want to do you can do here. AMPLE parking, tons of changing rooms, and showers, lockers....you literally can't expect any more. Plus the staff is fantastic. I see tons of reviews saying the standard of cleanliness is subpar, I've been going for 2 months now and I can say they took those reviews seriously. The staff are always cleaning now and there are always tons of paper towels

Negative experience: most of the treadmills are broken. many other machines are broken since world war 2. they re still in the progress of being fixed. squat racks are crooked, needs to be aligned. unnecessary people are there, they hug a machine and play on their phones. otherwise staff are great.

Negative experience: Simply filthy. Trash all over the places. Washroom don't get cleaned for weeks if not months. Staff just sits in the back and "hangout" . Been a member for over 12 years. It's kinda getting sad
Negative experience: Budget gym, you get what you pay for. Some of the machines are alright, however the gym isn’t the cleanest. Staff is lackadaisical in their duties, and when it gets dark, some questionable people come here. I personally drive to another Fit4Less most of the time because it’s better maintained & gives me a peace of mind. A clean, safe environment to exercise in is key. This location needs to revamp the lighting and improve its cleanliness standard if it wants to be more welcoming. I only come here if I have to.

Negative experience: Sadly, this gym becomes dirtier and dirtier every month. There are times when it is so dusty that I have difficulty breathing. There are literally layers of dust and hair in every corner. There are pieces of paper and old masks lying around everywhere. In the past year, it seems that this place has not been vacuumed even once. The staff are always chatting and laughing, at least when I am present, so I am not sure what they are paid for. In addition, they are almost always out of paper for wiping down the equipment. As a result, you sweat on a thread mill, but there is no paper available to clean it after use. Hopefully the management will take action very soon in order to resolve this issue.
Negative experience: I’ve been going to this gym for years now. I feel like recently the gym is going downhill… there are no more tissues to clean your machine, and there is one cloth per spray bottle, but no one wants to touch it. The gym is now filthy, and some machines are broken. It’s very unfortunate.
Positive experience: It's good for what it is and for the price. Spacious, enough equipment for all the users I find there at 6am. It's clean and tidy. There are a few broken machines, but not enough to be problematic, and if you go early in the morning before staffed hours, sometimes there's no paper towels to wipe down machines with. I bring a cloth. The water fountain works well. I like the 30 minute circuit and the 24 hour access. It's not Movati, but for 24 dollars per month, I'm super satisfied.

Negative experience: Lots of good equipment and well organized. Giving 2 stars because it is disgusting and the staff clearly don’t care. They were sitting around chatting and looking at their phones while EVERY paper towel dispenser was empty. I was unable to clean my machine and I think this is a regular occurrence because from what I saw no one was bothering to clean theirs either. I’ll be bringing my own towel next time to clean my machine before and after I use. Unfortunate.
Negative experience: Tonight 930 before staff gone, there was only paper towel in 1 dispenser i could find. Guess no one uses it anymore? Also i counted 5 machines broken. Chest machine, and many cardio machines
Negative experience: Decent Gym has all the basics. I wasn't pleased with the process of cancelling my membership. I called and was on the phone with someone who claimed to be the "regional manager" IMO she handled the cancellation process unprofessionally. When the process was complete and I asked for her name; instead of providing it she hung up quickly...
Negative experience: This place is awesome for equipment, but horrible staff. I'll pay more for better staff that actually show up on time for work
Positive experience: Since previous issues, nothing further has happened, only had good run ins since them getting new management, staff has been pleasant!

Negative experience: I lost my car to get in and they saying you should pay $25 to getting car new I was memberships 7 years and It was not the contract I sign please do not go for this gym it’s useless people front desk
Fantastic experience: I love this gym. It's always clean and when I've been never too crowded or busy. There are plenty of machines and the staff are always happy and helpful.

Negative experience: I go to this gym in Toronto, but visit this location when in Ottawa to see my parents. This gym is not clean, the showers are filthy, the floor has visible dirt and the garbage is litterly overflowing. The members attending this location are sketchy at best. I clean the machines before and after using it because I don't think they are cleaned regularly.

Negative experience: I have been coming here for a long time… Never seen a that kind of attitude from the employees . They are here to help to customers but they are always mean especially the lady who works here . Moreover , nobody cleans this place ! It is disgusting . They need to hire professionals to service this place . Complete mess .

Positive experience: Great gym, I'm removing a star because the cleaning standard went way down since the restrictions dropped. I believe that tanning beds should be cleaned by staff after every use. It makes it hard for clients to clean before and after they use it when it's just with napkins and spray solution. If the previous person didn't wipe after they used it, there's a buildup of dried products to clean and this takes away from our tanning time.

Negative experience: Price is right. The showers are rarely clean and the staff is next to impossible to find.
Negative experience: I'm disappointed that many times equipment has broken & it has taken a long time to fix. 3 cable machines have been broken for well over a month n still not fixed, paper towel holders at stations are constantly out as well as the disinfectant spray...yet i c staff behind the counters on there phones etc.
Positive experience: Wish they would replace the tanning bed bulbs. But nice big facility

Fantastic experience: The facility is always clean and well looked afterby the staff ,but I feel sorry for staff constantly having to field questions about equipment thatare quite often broken for long periods of time, I understand some equipment requires special parts but haven't been in the repair business for the city of Ottawa gym the replacement of cables Is quite straightforward and broken cable should not take weeks to fix.... These constant issues are not a problem at the main Life fitness do not understand why the same quality of service cannot apply to fit for Less

Positive experience: It has polite and helpful staff, a couple of showers, 3 massage chairs, 2 water beds, and plenty of weight and cardio equipment. This location also boasts a fitness room separate from the main room for those who want to workout with bar bells and mats. The downside is that it's generally smaller than their other locations
Negative experience: The guy staffs are horrible they got a bad I asked for help and they just looked at me and walked away
Negative experience: Don't go here. It is disgusting. Go to other gym. Members smell. Talk loud on phone. Most of staff are very rude. I mostly night and from what I see the staff never put out filled bottle or clean machine. The men's washroom gross. I understand cheap membership but it's awful. I seen maybe one staff member clean. She clean by vacuum and cloth in workout room. I asked for new card. It cost $17.
Positive experience: Kept clean and is never too busy, would be nice if there were power racks and more calf machines.
Negative experience: Decent assortment of equipment for cardio and getting into shape. It's a cheap membership so you get what you pay for. Alot of broken equipment that isn't being fixed. Staff are disinterested youth who clearly don't care about enforcing COVID protocols. They all just sit in the office and no one checks vax passports. Maskless people everywhere and a lot of empty paper towel stations so its annoying to wipe down the equipment. Basically it's a discount gym with a lot of people who don't care about COVID or professionalism. Start here then upgrade to a better gym.
