Negative experience: I have been a member for a few years now and regularly go workout. On birthdays they offer a free personal training session, so I booked a session to see where I stood with my fitness levels. When I got there, I was disappointed to hear by Prabh that they didnt expect me to come for the session, so we rescheduled for a couple days later. I arrived that day on time to wait 20 minutes to be told that they were in a meeting during our booked session and did not even come to reschedule. However Yousef at the front desk was super helpful and allowed me to atleast do an inbody assessment. Disappointed by the experience and lack of accountability by some of the trainers.

Negative experience: The two girls at the reception have been giving me the disgust look. I find that very funny how people with those types of attitudes- are hired.

Negative experience: 3/4 of the stair masters were out of service, don’t expect them to fix it anytime soon. This gym is very lazy with their maintenance with machines

Fantastic experience: Been coming to this gym for about two years, have to say the team here is very friendly and always helps with any questions i have. Shauna and Prab, the managers are always friendly and keep a great environment and always listen to any concerns i have.

Positive experience: Been coming to this gym for almost 2 years, switched over from Marine & Richmond location. Both other gyms were clean and equipment was well in order. I've been a FW member for years and kingsway location feel absolutely trash compared to any other locations I've been to. They really need to do a major renovations/relocation. Parking is a huge challenge. Equipment is always out of order, machines are run down and squeeze everytime, washrooms are just a shit shoe, worse than night club washrooms. I love FW but PLEASE do something about the metrotown kingsway location. It gives all FW a bad name.

Negative experience: Had 2 credit cards on file, one of them was expired and the other one was working fine, they tried charging my expired card which obviously did not work, and charged me 30$ as « late fees » tried talking to the manager politely to get these charges refunded but she refused, they will just do anything to charge you extra fees, be careful with them

Negative experience: When canceling my membership, i asked the person in front of 3 times. Whether there is anything i have to pay, he replied no. After a couple of days, they charged me with the maintenance fee. Ridiculous and scam

Positive experience: I really like the fitness world gyms and I primarily use the Kingsway facility but the level of service and attentiveness compared to the Camby location is night and day. The front desk staff don’t even look up or say hello when you come in. The sanitize wipes are constantly empty. The. Bathrooms/change rooms are often dirty. 4/5 TVs in the cardio area aren’t even on right now. I would love to see the level of commitment from the staff higher. I do understand this isn’t a high end gym but the Camby location is next level compared to Kingsway. Some consistency would be nice. You can’t beat the monthly cost for everything you get access to though. So I will stay loyal.

Negative experience: DO NOT JOIN FITNESS WORLD I just got an e-mail saying that they will increase the already agreed contract bi-weekly fee! Also, after I cancel a previous contract that has ended, I upgraded to a better plan, I used a different payment option for the new plan and asked them to delete the last payment information since I was no longer gonna use it. They said the system didn't let them delete the credit card info, and they would simply block the card, so nobody charges it, and the employee even showed me the screen of the computer so I could see that. They never cancel the last plan, and about 2 months, they charged the credit card that I told them not to use without my consent. When I spoke with an employee on the phone, he said the manager wasn't there and that they would call me back. They never call me back. I called again, spoke with the manager, and gave me excuses, saying the person who made the mistake was already fired. I told the manager I didn't want to keep doing business with them, and she just said that I couldn't cancel the contract. The customer service with management was unpleasant. I WISH I NEVER SIGNED UP, specially now that they are increasing the fees on an already agreed plan! Look for another Gym

Positive experience: Been coming here for a year or more and I do enjoy the sweat sessions. The people/gym goers are great and it does have the feel of a community gym. There is always place to workout and generally the equipment is okay in comparisons to the membership fees. There is a great sense/feeling of community and people working out to stay active and fit. The age distribution is from 15 to 75! I feel comfortable and relaxed working out here! The studio, gym racks and benches are plentiful. The overall reason for the 3 stars is; - the bad maintenance of items and fixtures (even after raising concerns, things haven’t been repaired for 3 months), - the trainers are good but do a terrible if not horrific job of cleaning up after their training sessions. Seen trainers move station to station without having people return weights/equipment and wipe down things. I have seen a members walking around cleaning up after gym goers, which the staff is busy chatting at the reception/office/room. - lack of cleaning generally and enforcement of good cleanliness. - more air circulation and odor reduction in the weight area

Also extremely spacious. They have wonderful events here every month, contests, prizes, etc. Great low prices on memberships prices that you can’t beat. Fantastic experience: I’d say the best location to workout in Metrotown , kingway and Highgate area. I mean this is the best gym for value and it’s price. I am glad that motivated and friendly people come to this gym and if I’m talking about people I have to talk about the staff. People at the front are always welcoming and open to help and provide solutions. This gym also provides personal training at a reasonable price especially for someone buying their package for the first time. I have tried my PT session with Justin. He’s aa knowledgeable and friendly person. His detail oriented approach and a customized workout plan help me gain 13 kg’s in 4 months. For anyone wondering which gym to join in this area. I’d say fitness workout kingsway.

Fantastic experience: Love this gym. Lots of good old school equipment and tons of variety. Lots of good spaces to do different types of workouts and if one area is a bit crowded generally another area is ready to swap to. Usually the mornings is when I go and the staff are usually friendly. Caitlin at the front desk always has a smile and welcomes you in, which doesn’t usually happen at most gyms I go to. Definitely a good location if you’re looking for a gym to get comfortable in.

Positive experience: 8pm on Saturday night and the gym is half full and they shut it down and kick everyone out ‍♂️ pay for what? Gym is not bad…it’s always pretty busy. Don’t think I renew here mostly cuz it closes early on weekends.

Negative experience: So, I am writing this review as I reached home now. This has happened second time with me, that I have entered gym and it is jam packed. There were no equipment free, not any dumbbell available. Just for you information this happened at 2:45 p.m. on a weekday, not even a weekend to excuse you. Whenever someone comes to the gym, he/she enters the gym with a mindset to do certain exercises. But this gym, when it comes to dumbbells, people treat as if it is their own dumbbell. People just take 3-4 pairs of dumbbell from the rack and keep it for their usage. So, others have just to wait. There are more dumbbells available but their weights are 80lbs, 90lbs etc. I understand that it is an affordable gym, but people around this gym should have basic etiquettes. Unfortunately, the people have zero gym manners here. Just everything is soo crowded that you cannot perform the determined exercises that you have in your mind. You always have to substitute it with something else. This compromised situation can be understood by only those who do gym whole-heartedly. Poor crowd management. Please it is a request that increase the more number of pairs of dumbbells especially in the range of 20lbs,30lbs,40lbs. This is because, it happens to be the most used weight scale for the people who come to this gym. Overall, quite unsatisfactory review for this gym. I really urge the people of this area, that if you want to perform exercises in peace please select a bit of higher end gym like Anytime fitness, or Goodlife fitness. This gym has reached its saturation point and will die down among gym lovers soon.

Fantastic experience: Love coming here! Usually go first thing in the morning to start my day off and the staff are always super friendly. The front desk girl Caitlin is always friendly and offers a warm smile which makes being there early much better, and the gym goers feel like a small community with the friendliness and camaraderie they bring to the table. The equipment they have here is great especially compared with competitive gyms around. I always have variation with my workouts and can workout exactly how I plan to. If you’re looking for a good gym to improve your fitness and get strong, with a friendly inclusive environment, fitness world Kingsway is an excellent choice!

Negative experience: Major shady and secretive practices at this gym. I live further away and workout on the weekends with my friend, he unfortunately had to move so we both canceled our membership. The major issue came in when we cancelled on the 27th of September and everything was fine, but on October 1 were charged 50 dollars for the yearly membership fee despite cancelling and to not go here again. This was NEVER told by anyone during the cancellation process and seems extremely unfair to be charged a yearly fee for a membership cancelled. Likewise the GM Shauna was very unhelpful and said there is nothing we can do, I have contacted the district manager and am waiting for a refund. Please be extremely aware of the hidden fees you will be charged when cancelling and always ask because they will not tell you. This experience has been very negative and outrageously shady. 0 Stars

Negative experience: I was exercising at this company for summer and I was satisfied with their services. But when I wanted to cancel my contract due to moving to another city for school, they suddenly turned into an irresponsible company and manager. Before I cancel my contract I went and talk to the front desk, paid my maintenance fee, and the payment of the month that was only two days overdue because of the error in their system. I showed them the proof that I am moving to another city, they accepted and and canceled my contract. Almost three days after that, they again charged me online with the same amount that I paid before canceling my contract. I called the front desk and they told me to email the manager. I reached out to the manager at Aug 14th and she emailed me back and requested a proof of double charging. I provided the proof for them, they told me it's all good, I waited for almost few week they didn't reach out to me so I emailed them again the manager told me she is waiting on another answer and everything is ok. Now it's Oct 1st, it's been a months I followed up one more time around Aug 21st but they didn't even respond to me. This is so shameful and shows the lack of communication and responsibility of this company. When you are trying to sign up and get on the contract to them they are spoiling you with everything they can offer, but when you need them to correct their mistake, they get disappear. I am so disappointed at your management. I hope you can make an improvement.

Negative experience: We went to this location on Sept 25 around 7pm to cancel our gym memberships, and the experience was terrible from the start. When we were asked to give our phone numbers, the front desk employee, Yolsef, turned around mid-conversation to chat with his coworkers, completely ignoring us. It felt like he was pretending not to hear us. When we asked if we could just scan our memberships instead, he didn’t seem happy but reluctantly allowed it. Throughout the interaction, Yolsef kept chatting with his coworkers and even started singing, making the whole situation awkward and unprofessional. He excused his behavior by claiming he was "practicing his vocals," which didn’t feel like a valid reason for such poor service. To make things worse, when we received the cancellation email, the employee name listed was "Chris." It seems like he might have used a different name, possibly because he knew how unprofessional his behavior had been. As someone with years of customer service experience, here’s a piece of advice for Yolsef: if you can’t treat customers properly, maybe this job isn’t for you. And to Fitness World management, please train your employees better. It seems like we aren’t the only ones upset with the customer service here.

Fantastic experience: I like coming to this location as it is convenient to get to and parking is decent. I also enjoy using the 3 different floors of the gym and I usually do not have to wait long to use the equipments. My personal trainer Molly is awesome! I have been working with her for a few months now and each session with her is engaging, educational and challenging in the right way. With her help I am getting closer to reaching my fitness goals. She is also patient, friendly, encouraging and adjusts our training as needed in relation to my body's condition so that I do not get injured. Thanks to her I have been more motivated in going to the gym and working on strengthening my body compared to before.

Negative experience: Worst gym services ever! They don’t care about the customers, they just care about PAYMENTS! I signed up for monthly membership as I knew I was going to move after two months. Their sales rep. tried his best to convince me for annual membership. The reason I paid extra for monthly membership just avoid annual charges of $52. Then after 1 month I went there to cancel my membership and the same rep told me to give one month notice which is fair. At the time of cancellation, he got my signature on the blank screen for authorisation of cancellation.The main part is they charged me for that one month and also $52 as the annual charges which I avoided since joining. I tried to asked them the reason, they mentioned that if it is more than one month then they charge for annual fees. I asked them to mention it before joining, to which they replied that you signed on a document which mentioned that point (blank screen). All of their competitors are far more better, you can chose them instead! They might not provide additional services but atleast they are trustworthy!

Negative experience: The worst gym services provider. Ridiculous rules and complete disregard for their customers situation/condition. I signed for monthly membership, which after a month I wanted to cancel. They say that you have to give one month notice, which is fair if you can plan that ahead. What if there's an emergency situation where you had a medical reason or to travel or move to a different place or just cannot use their services anymore? They dont care and will still charge you for the one month regardless you use their services or not. They charge $52 for 'yearly maintenance' fee and they will not tell you while you are signing up for their membership. I requested both in person and through their 'contact us' forum, they dont care about you. All they care about is the payment. All of their advertising is fake.

Negative experience: One of the staff member named Chris was rude. Being myself in customer service sector, being empathetic is what is important which he might needs to learn more as he ended up bluntly speaking with awkward face gesture that someone else needs to use the massage chair so you need to get up as I was just getting finished with my massage so was somehow going to get up. Hopefully, can embolden himself with more of a service skills.

Fantastic experience: Despite experiencing very poor customer service , I am giving 5 stars because I believe the employees are not adequately trained in business practices. I sincerely hope their managers will provide proper training in customer relations. After undergoing surgery, I needed to temporarily freeze my membership. My email request went unanswered, and when I visited in person, I was asked for a letter from the doctor. They refused to accept other documents proving I had surgery. During the time it took to get the doctor’s letter, they continued to charge me, even though I was unable to use the gym. Additionally, I was treated with great disrespect. Although I felt very disappointed, I want the staff to understand that they can improve their customer service skills and be better in dealing with their clients.

Negative experience: The equipment here are so old. Most of the time half of the machines are not functioning and on the top of it when you cancel your membership these guys charge an extra month. Be careful I would not recommend them at all

Negative experience: Scammers. My membership was non-contract and when I decided to cancel it, they'll make you sign another contract to charge for an extra month or they will not go through with the cancel. Additionally I was also charged the annual fee because they kept delaying my cancellation until after the annual fees was charged. Reasons given were things like broken printer, managers not around, has to cancel in person etc. The best advice I can give is It's easier to just revoke their rights to charge you with your credit card company than attempting to cancel your membership with these crooks.

Negative experience: I was in a contract with them and for some reasons I had to cancel my contract . They didn’t let me do that even after I offer them cancellation fee and all. They kept me in contract for two year and I thought finally my contract is over and they are not gonna charge me anymore but that was not the case they continued to charge me and after I talked to them they said that you haven’t canceled it and it goes to monthly pass after contract I asked to cancel it right there but they said no you have to wait for one more month and now they deduct annual fees. Honestly this gym is all about your money and they don’t care how long you were with them or what type of membership you have . Also Ive noticed that anybody from minimum membership to Gold membership have access to hydro massage chair and all . They basically don’t care about their members.

Upgrading the lighting system could significantly enhance the gym's appeal, potentially attracting more members. 2. An odd placement choice is the inclusion of the abduction and adduction machine within the women's change room. The reason behind this decision is unclear and is an inconvenience for male members.
