Positive experience: It's pretty good for the most part. There are some few individuals that obviously don't know how to drop their weights slowly. In my own opinion, if you slam the weights, you probably need a lighter set cuz it's about control, not how heavy you can lift. Just ahead, even though I don't feel like I should have to say this. If you can't put the weights down gently, you're trying to lift heavier than you need at your training level.

Negative experience: Only making money and not caring about members’ health. This gym is outdated and far from modern. It’s clear they’re only interested in making money, not in providing quality training or caring about members’ health. Personal training sessions? Forget about it—they don’t offer them. Want to train online with your own coach? Not allowed. The website states you can film your workouts as long as no one else is in the frame or with permission, but in reality, I spent three months being harassed about this. They monitored me through security cameras, constantly checked in person, waved their hands around, and told me I wasn’t breaking any privacy rules—but still decided to ban me from filming. It’s 2024, the era of online, yet a camera in the gym is somehow a catastrophe for them. Instead of focusing on members’ progress and health, they let people perform exercises with poor form, potentially ruining their bodies. But why would they care? As long as you pay, they’re satisfied. If you value your health and a professional environment, look elsewhere. This gym is stuck in the past.

Positive experience: Чудовий спортивний комплекс, який має: сауну, тренажерний зал в 2 поверхи, басейн, джакузі, корт тенісу, зал зі стіною для тенісу скошу, пінг-понг, боксерська груша, кімната для персональних тренувань, TRX, круг для бігу по периметру будівлі, зала для баскетболу, тенісу та футболу, хороша ціна абонементу за весь пакет занять Єдине питання: Чому тільки один із адміністраторів не дозволяє фотографуватися в дзеркалі ? Адже фотографую своє тіло, яке вибудував в цьому залі, а тому і роблю Вам рекламу.

Positive experience: The gym is good... It's a little spicy smelling but it a gym. As for the male steam room... It's creepy.... Like Aquarius bathhouse creepy....

Fantastic experience: nice pool and great staff, only problem is the people that go there and complain about lane sharing (you know who you are)

Negative experience: The cleaner assaulted and kept harassing me while I was naked in the shower. The customer service person did not do anything about it. Never coming back and I’m ending my membership and my friends and families membership. We don’t support unprofessional and poor customer service

Negative experience: don't get me wrong, it is a nice place but the price they charge you for membership ever 2 weeks is a little too high and I remember some of my old rude instructors that still work here

Positive experience: This is an excellent gym for its equipment and pool and staff. but it sucks in the summer when the weather gets hot . If you think you re going to get out of the heat and humidity into a lovely cool gym to do an intense workout, forget it. The air conditioning does not work. The change rooms are hot and humid and so are the gyms. I wish they could fix it then maybe more people would come in out of the heat outside to use it.

Negative experience: Every time I come on my day off to rest, I cannot get everything in full, because at the time when everything is written, everything is open. Something is definitely not working for them. I pay for everything and choose my time to come to get everything. Why can't I get everything I paid for? Return my money if you cannot provide all the conditions for which you take the money. Moreover, there is very frequent dirt on the walls, there is a lot of mold. Especially between the tile seams. Where do you need to get Liquid Soap? You can also see mold, why is it so unsanitary? There is also a lot of mold in the steam room, a lot of dirt and mold, no supervision is carried out

Positive experience: Great gym, it's a little inconvenient that you can't access the gym from the portage place parkade immediately after they open... But otherwise really nice.

Positive experience: Low price for gym. A lot of people there with a small amount of popular equipments. Most of the equipments no one uses. Stuff is unfriendly, changing rooms are uncomfortable, showers look bad, I didn’t want to use it.

Positive experience: This is one of the best facilities and the dirtiest I’ve ever seen. Why you may ask, let me tell you: There is no other sauna and whirlpool as good as the one in this location; however, the hygiene is very poor, and it’s all on us. Underwear contains whole bunch of stuff and should not be worn under bathing suits to hot tub and pool, outdoor shoes(indoor is not outdoor)

Negative experience: It has become increasingly time-consuming for members like myself to register for parking on a daily basis. I strongly suggest the implementation of a separate line or dedicated staff to streamline the parking registration process. This adjustment would not only save time for members but also help prevent potential parking fines.I appreciate your attention to this matter and hope for a prompt resolution.

Negative experience: It's not a friendly place for first-time users. If it's your first time in a gym, you might feel lost. Even if you're experienced, find by yourself how everything works can be a challenge. Be cautious about parking and elevator schedules; they don't provide information, assuming you already know the routine after a few visits to that branch. After my second visit, I decided to cancel my membership due to the frustrating situation. The staff lacks empathy and doesn't offer support.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing daycare with caring, responsible, highly-qualified staff. We have had two kids attending for 2+ years. Through various ups and downs, the staff have always handled things with incredible professionalism and care. Children are carefully and properly supervised. Diverse cultures and backgrounds are honored and reflected among staff and students. Kids learn conflict management and respect for one another. We feel very lucky to have found this daycare! It is extremely well-managed and the YMCA Creative Play philosophy serves the program well.

Positive experience: A really good place where everyone can do something useful for their health. One small request, there is very little chlorine in the pool in the morning and a lot in the evening.

Fantastic experience: This facility is great for beginners all the way to Elite bodybuilders. Easy to use equipment, all the universal gear has instructions on how to use it properly and free weights of course. If you have not been for a year or more they'll give you a free pass as long as you have ID to try out the facility.

Fantastic experience: Great space, lots of options, classes daily, can’t beat the price, especially having a pool, sauna and hot tub, it’s never crazy busy, staff are very friendly, I have been going here since 2010, it’s honestly the best gym for the price.

Negative experience: Prices have gone up so much. YMCA suppose to be a non profit organization. But every year membership fees keeps rising.Gym staff are rude, Sales department have no knowledge how to do their job (C. Walker), Gym floor is showing wear, location is dangerous for members,( mugged, theft, harassed, vehicles being damaged).No free parking.

Negative experience: Reduced hours, Saturday and Sunday are now closed. Limited equipment to use. Can't even use basketball court. Increased their membership and admission fees. Ymca is lame now.

Fantastic experience: I have been going regularly for 5 years, after shopping around for a new gym when my last one closed. The equipment is updated fairly frequently to reflect current fitness trends, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable, the facility clean.

Fantastic experience: My go to gym. We have a family pass so everybody gets to benefit from one membership. The downtown Y allows us to use a swimming pool, there's a walking/running track lots of great equipment. they also have lots of free classes where I can join in to get my motivation or work on my own.and of course the Y has multiple locations so I can go to any Y and work out there as convenient for me.

Fantastic experience: Very diverse gym and the best equipped gym in Winnipeg. It has a trx area, kettlebells, free weights , turf field with push sleds, cardio and resistance machines, large running track upstairs, squash courts and 2 basketball courts. Also has a multiple person hot tub, male and female steam rooms, kids pool and pool with lanes for swimming. Helpful staff from the time you walk in to the moment you leave.

Negative experience: I don’t recommend this place! There are lots of stuff at front desk but I was standing there for long time no one call me or help me. 2 front desk CSR was talking with their colleagues about the game. Not happy at all! I was there for the first time. There is no stuff who shows me where to go for swimming pool, gym section and other places. I was lost in middle of hallway. I didn’t knw how to enter to gym workout place. The stuff was not helpful at all. I was so dissatisfied with customer service. I wanted to register membership for biweekly. The guy refused me because he needs direct deposit form. I told him I have all the account information with my name on my phone. He refused then I paid $10 for one time member. My plan was to go register biweekly so I could save but couldn’t register because I didn’t have direct deposit form. I will never go that place again! 100% dissatisfied and NOT RECOMMENDED

Negative experience: I'm not at all impressed with the services of a front desk clerk names Juan. He didn't seem to know what he was doing. Perhaps the managerial staff should look into coaching him to be well versed in his role at this location. The saunas are in the WORST shape they have ever have every been in and I wouldn't set foot in the whirlpool or swimming pool. Standards are not what they used to be at the downtown YMCA.

Positive experience: Amazing gym to go. Lots of machines, classes and space. They have many activities for kids which is a plus for me as I do have kids. As a family with kids, this is the only gym that design it's facilities to includes everyone!

Positive experience: I've had mixed experiences here, my frustrating experiences were with front desk staff being unhelpful with information beyond check ins and towels. The services here are good though. The daycare staff are nice and the facility is alright, it's a good gym overall. I do recommend this place.
