Fantastic experience: Very clean, cleaning staff does very good work on keeping the place tidy

Fantastic experience: I love coming to the YMCA gym at Don Wheaton, always clean and the staff and other members are friendly. The classes are great, the bootcamps are awesome. I love that I don't need to remember to bring a lock and the cleaning staff are so wonderful.

Fantastic experience: I wanted to drop in but one staff who works at thr reception suggested about vistor membership. It can be used three times visiting if you visit the first time. I used the gym as well due to her kindness. Thank you

Positive experience: I’ve been a member of the mens’ plus for 25+ years and the accessibility has been good in those years. Now the hours are restricted and they are closed on Sundays! Why? I’m still paying the same membership fee but now get less service. Does the Y plan on extending hours and opening on Sunday again?

Fantastic experience: Been going here for over 15 years and seen this place through all the changes. Pre-covid staff are definitely missed. Some of the new staff aren't as well customer service trained as the old staff but the equipment is maintained, they keep it clean and hopefully things go back to how it was because this is the best YMCA of them all!

Positive experience: I cancelled my account 2 years ago, and they just started charging me again for membership? I didn't put the account on hold, I called and cancelled my account. That did not happen apparently, and they would not offer a refund at first. I called back, and they issued 1/2 of the amount. This is acceptable to me. Online Tool/App: I went to cancel/change my online account and the site doesn't allow you to do this! It's completely non-functional when it comes to cancelling or changing membership status. Very shady site functionality. Nice facility downtown Edmonton, but will likely not return. If so, I won't use the automatic withdrawal process.

Fantastic experience: Does anyone else think that fitness facilities are essential, if so the people need to demand that they reopen. Liqour stores are open , malls are open but the gyms are closed. The owners of all facilities need to grow a spine and demand that they be open. Asap!

Fantastic experience: Wheelchair accessibility is great. The facility is set-up for easy access. They offer FES therapy with the RT-300 cycle machines which is ideal for wheelchair users. Helpful staff.

Fantastic experience: Great place to play basketball...everyone gets along well while playing and the gyms on top there are really spacious you can even run and sprint in their mini oval track...great place highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: The group training sessions are amazing in morning .Variety of classes are offered . The Community Canvas hallways is refreshing . Parking is underground which is a relief in Winters . I am attending Allison’s LIFT morning sessions and she is really a nice trainer, she will come forward to give individual tips to improve posture .

Fantastic experience: I love the Don Wheaton YMCA! It is always so clean and the staff are so friendly. When I worked downtown, it was so convenient to swim in the morning and/or do classes at lunch. Almost everybody there is working downtown as well, so it's a good peer demographic. My work has now moved and I've since tried other YMCAs in the city, but they don't quite have the same atmosphere or cleanliness. I miss you Don Wheaton YMCA!

Fantastic experience: My family and I love the Don Wheaton YMCA! It is always so clean and the staff are so friendly. My son loves it for his CIT program and the staff, my wife for the swimming pool and I for group classes. It is so convenient to swim in the morning and/or late in the evening. Our Thank you to the management team and staff of YMCA Don Wheaton for giving us this opportunity for using such a clean and beautiful environment.

Fantastic experience: The Y is an amazing place. At first you join just to work out. But then you discover new friends in a great environment. There are lots of drop in fitness classes. The busy times are before work, at noon hour and after work. Otherwise it is quiet. If you join the plus locker rooms you get towels, steam room and a hot tub. There is a nice lounge. Eventually you learn that the YMCA is a charity. Nobody is turned away because families need fitness opportunities and kids need summer camp. I have been a Y member for over 10 years. I wouldn’t belong to any other fitness centre even though the Y costs a little more. Try the Maka Eatery in the main lobby. They offer very delicious lunch items and smoothies. They do a good job on the coffee as well.

Fantastic experience: Great gym. Perfect for me since I work downtown. Very clean and modern facility. Men's plus is well-equipped with really nice steam room. Friendly and helpful staff and reasonable parking rates. If only they had a salt-water pool it would be perfect.

Fantastic experience: I've been at this gym for the past year, and then some when ever I visited Edmonton from England. I've been a member on and off since 2013. The staff at the reception and floor (Crystalle, Andy, Boris, Joe, Evin, Faith, AJ, Derrick, Claudia, Kate, Tim, Clement, Damien) have been absolutely helpful in welcoming me ever single day I arrive and with anything else I need. The equipment is regularly cleaned. The are a plethora of group classes for a variety of age groups and skill level. I do not have any issues with the gym asides from that I wish to a see a pendulum squat apparatus installed, a fixed position chest supported t-bar row, a seated leg curl, a sled to push, and another smith machine. Your staff do an amazing job. The clients that come to the gym do vary and are from all walks of life. It's a good community feel. The STRIVE equipment, chains, available bands and basketball court are few of the many reasons why I joined the YMCA versus World Health in City Centre. Anyone reading this review MUST know that the customer service at the Don Wheaton YMCA is phenomenal. The service FAR surpasses any other downtown gym in a 6km vicinity. Yes, it is a first come and first serve basis, but all that one has to do is plan ahead! Every member, for the most part, wipes down the equipment after their use (unlike at a certain other gym downtown *cough cough*).

Fantastic experience: Great place! Everything seems clean and tidy. Not being scammed by cancellation fees or changing prices. Atmosphere and people are great. I got an express pass because I often don't get off work until later, so it's easily affordable. Only complaint is that I can't make it on weekends because they close rather early (7:00pm).
