Negative experience: Used to be good as I was a member for many years, then they jacked up my fees by over 25% a month, saying it would be no more than $2.75. No loyalty to members. They also charged me an equipment enhancement fee after I had cancelled my membership and management doesn't return calls. One of the shower change rooms smells bad all the time from the drain and at least one piece of equipment always seems to be broken, which is an issue when there is only 1 of each for strength training. Would not go back there again nor refer anyone to. Went downhill very quickly.

Negative experience: Very rude people who work here, totally scammers, they just need your money. Zero star, not recommend to anyone

Fantastic experience: I went for a day pass workout with my friend and the lady working was so helpful showing me around. Her name was Katelynn! Helpful and jolly. I’d recommend this gym and the friendly staff!

Positive experience: 4.5/5 stars Just started going to this gym for the past 2 weeks. Nice, quiet gym that is conveniently open 24/7 365 days. Equipment is constantly being cleaned and maintained in the evenings. Everyone is super friendly - coach Jay is awesome. Fees are a little high and I wish there was a deadlift platform at this location, but overall I’m a satisfied customer and will continue coming here!

Fantastic experience: When it comes to fitness, I take it very seriously and have been burned in the past by other local gyms. I was very hesitant to join a gym, but I needed to for my health. My experience has been nothing but unexpected and in a good way as I was expecting to be forced and thrown programs and hustled into buying things I didn't need or worse having a trainer trying throw products and services at me that I do not require. I can confidently say after the last, well, 3 months of going here, this has been one of the best gym experiences I've had in Winnipeg and in my travels across Canada for a few reasons. The first one is that they're genuine. Everyone here is nice they actually care about their their customers and clients, and most importantly, they're on a fitness journey themselves, so there's that genuine connection there. I'm m not lying when I say Luke probably saved my life. He is at the front door he's your main doorman, so generally, when you come in, he's the first face you meet. I came down for a free trial and Luke continued to help me out through the free trial, and eventually convince me to sign on I shared with Luke I have zero trust with gyms because of getting past burned and he understood that he shared his own experiences and he actually cared he listened it wasn't your typical I'm here to listen business talk but he actually listened to what I had to say and he was 'real' I say that Luke saved my life because at the time I was pushing 350 lb That's not healthy and since going to the gym I've lost 45 lb so I'm down to 305 now with Luke's help I was able to trust the gym again and by trusting the gym again I was able to actually sign on with a personal trainer. I started working with Coach Jay, who's been nothing but incredible. guiding me through the workout process taught me the right way to lift and the right way to eat. The workout programs that they provide here are insanely detailed and Incredibly easy to follow and most importantly, as I keep saying, they're genuine and authentic Coach Jay genuinely cares about everyone that comes through that door he wants to see you achieve your fitness goals, and he wants to be part of your journey. I've never met a coach in my entire life of going to the gym we're a coach has been so dedicated to his clients. Without Luke and Coach Jay, I probably would be in a worse health space than I've ever been in my life. And I'm so thankful that they well are part of my health journey so far. You are doing yourself a disservice by not checking this place out at least for the free trial, and I highly recommend it.

Fantastic experience: Incredible gym with lovely staff and great atmosphere. It’s always very clean and well taken care of. My favourite gym I’ve been to so far!!

Positive experience: Dope place, just got a membership recently because my previous gym shut down. Pros: • New building • clean • Doesn't seem to smell like wet socks like my previous gym did • lots of space • not many people (although so far I have only gone after 8pm) • staff was nice during the sign up process • inexpensive • staffed usually 11-7, open to members 24/7 • showers are quality Cons: • contract only (not sure if this applies to everyone, but my signup fee was $1, while my previous gym charged $20 day 1; similar to the charge I would get if I broke the contract) • small lockers • only 1, single person change room, but there's 2 single person bathrooms too so ‍♂️ • showers currently not operational; Covid-19 All in all, better than my previous gym, and only a dollar or so more bi-weekly.

Negative experience: Gym stinks. Literally has a weird smell. Half the treadmills don't work. Has 1 set of handles for the cable machine and they don't even match and the weight racks and dirty.

Fantastic experience: Great gym, nice equipment. Only negative is the ventilation in the bathroom is pretty lackluster, so after a workout and changing in to a suit is uncomfortable. BUT the facility is always incredibly clean.

Positive experience: Very clean facility. Generally quiet, machine you need is almost always available. Rates are a little high, but overall it's a very nice location

Positive experience: Well I joined anytime for a year membership (as I believe they didn’t offer bi-weekly memberships). I did this during Covid peak as my previous gym (which I froze) had severely limited hours and with shift work I needed more access. Overall the course of a year I was quite pleased with the establishment. It was relatively clean, albeit sometimes the showers a little worse for wear and the gym area floor maybe need a sweep /mop a little more often as it often had some bits of gravel/dirt (noticed this during planks or push ups). As it is a much smaller facility the machine variety is limited (makes sense) and overall the cable cross over machine is sufficient and two leg presses a bonus, along with a squat plate loaded machine. I was glad they had one squat/power rack (which is my go to) and one smith (not for me good but for variety). My only issue was when a machine broke down (two had during the course of the membership) it had been weeks-months with no repair. Given the smaller space and limited variety when a machine (if the only for a body part) breaks it’s quite a bummer if not repaired with haste. Cardio is decent (except when the only stair climber they had broke) and the ability to stare off into the distance through the window pleasing. People watching! Anytime is within the strip mall of Plesis and it’s very convenient for post workout shopping, errands, coffee - etc. I’ve gone back to my old gym for more access to deadlift platforms, squat racks, stair climbers, etc. however I can’t say for sure if I’d never try anytime again in the future or if they offered a smaller contract membership. Staff are friendly enough and seem to have a good rapport with customers and I have seen a positive environment between other clients as well. Overall rating I gave is 4/5 (minus one star for machine repairs in a timely manner)

Fantastic experience: Amazing Gym

Negative experience: I signed up for a year membership at AF plessis last august while i was planned to enrol my daughter as well to work out with me but the attendant doesnt want to accpet my credit card and requires debit card instead. She said it was her own policy. Eventhough most of the members pay credit card. What i did was, i enrolled my daughter at riverbend branch so she could work out together at any AF branch.

Negative experience: Very nice gym but do not feel safe at all when I’m the only one wearing a mask. Yes we all sanitize the equipment before and after using but the fact that so many are close without using any masks, it’s very uncomfortable to me. Besides that equipment is great and location is lovely.

Fantastic experience: It's nice to see AT back in Transcona! One of the cleanest facilities in Winnipeg. The only thing I would add are towels for cleaning the equipment after use. Please add more of these towels.

Fantastic experience: The managing staff at this location is a married couple that are incredibly nice and personable. They really do try to get to know you and make you feel welcome. It's a bit smaller than other gyms but their customer service and cleanliness is unrivalled. I would definitely recommend this gym to everyone, but especially those who are shy since this gym is small and relatively not busy before 3 pm.

Fantastic experience: Have gone to this gym for months, is extremely clean at all times and usually not many people there (which is important to me). Only downside really is the staffs hours are very low so it is tough to get in contact with them.

Fantastic experience: Very clean. Friendly helpful staff. I personally struggled with getting an appointment to sign up for the gym in the beginning, the staffed hours really did not fit my schedule. No matter what time of day or night I visit the gym, its always clean and usually there's only a few other people there with you, and they have a wide variety of machines to fit all your needs.They also have a few free classes for memberships. Ex) Zumba, Yoga, Boot Camp, strength training. And when the classes aren't going on you can use the classroom for any floor work you may need space for.
