Fantastic experience: Nice family center with good gym equipment and nice pool

Positive experience: Staff was very helpful answering my questions during registration. Facilities are kept clean. Lane swims are plentiful. The sauna should be hotter. It was hotter in the past so maybe it was just an anomaly today.

Negative experience: Very very rude and cold front desk. I make an appointment but ignored all the time. Very bad experience and never to there.

Fantastic experience: Love the new gym equipments here Plus the Adult changing room’s steam room is a definite plus Very friendly staff!

Positive experience: I've only recently started going to the YMCA to get in better shape. I've never had any issues with the equipment or needing to wait to use anything. My only complaint is that the gym area feels super super hot every time I'm there. It honestly doesn't feel like the AC is on high. There's 1 industrial fan that I've seen, so if you're able to face that towards yourself, it's not too bad.

Negative experience: I bring my daughter here for swimming classes Saturdays in the morning. I noticed the staff has gotten ruder and has no common manners. This goes for all the morning staff. I said hello to one girl who has blonde hair at reception and she just stared back no hello back with a weird smirk on her face and she just waited for me to ask the question. Weird and rude.

Negative experience: All the comments Make Sense here. Going to this place is really Hard too much toxic and they really have to tell employee the people coming from different color are also human. Its a small commmunity within Welland , i really had to make this id. So they do not target my friend. I had better swimming places in GTA. This is really unsafe and uncalled behaviour from their young employee. They really need to educate their young employee Human Rights, Canadian Value and so on. I dont want to target any employee He or She But they really need some Lesson from People to People Connections. Thank you.

Negative experience: This is really unacceptable they dont teach their staff, how to treat disable, people of color.. may be their young staff untrained for not starring at people of color..very discriminated.. the way staff sit on desk that they have infinite power..talk very agressively and rudely.. and talk back right away to colleagues. Also their young staff working in pool area stares like that why you guys arr coming for swimming ? Even asking is hard for hours ? They stare at ya.... really horrible feeling to be there..wish there are more swimming area in niagara region...

Negative experience: This place is full of the nastiest and most hateful employees, clients and customers more than anything, i was in Busiprone crisis in 2007-2012 and this place made it nastier. It is a good that my passport funding is used for Bell Canada Bills and Sensory items only. Good riddance YMCA Welland.

Negative experience: I don’t understand , why should the swimming pool have to be reserved for the birthday, what about the other kids, it is not fair. We had to wait 1 hour today to swim, and they didn’t tell us it is reserved when I purchased the ticket.

Fantastic experience: This place is great, my only complaint would be the hot tub being more of a lukewarm tub.

Negative experience: The facility is great, I have no issues with that. Kids safety is my issue. My family and I have been members for close to 3 years now. Within the last year, my daughter has been getting bullied and beat up there, by two sisters. I've tried speaking to the mom, who only drops off and never stays. I've spoken to various different staff members, managers and leads, no one will help. My daughter, who enjoyed going to the YMCA, will no longer go. We heard through the grapevine, the sisters stopped going. I thought to myself, thank you for not making the victim pay the price, the bullies have been dealt with. My daughter tried going again, and had a blast. A few weeks past and my daughter felt comfortable enough, that I could just watch. Instead of me being with her, because she was scared. Of course that is the time, the sisters made their appearance again. This time they came with their brother. It doesn't matter where my daughter is, they seek her out. Why won't you do something about this YMCA

Positive experience: I like this gym. Pretty easy going and really worth it if you can dodge busy times. Lots of good equipment that’s always well maintained. Mainly an older crowd which is expected knowing that the younger folks are likely at World Gym or Fit4Less. No complaints with the Y

Positive experience: It's a decent gym. The only issue is that there are a lot of teens under the age of 16 using free weights and machines without guidance. Also, they all bunch up together and make it difficult to work out comfortably. I feel there should be no one under 16 around the exercise equipment. Need more staff to patrol the area.

Positive experience: Perfect if you're looking for an affordable gym with no year-long commitment, no joining fee and everything under one roof, this is the place. However, you get what you pay for. The machines are old and the variety isn't that good.

Fantastic experience: Very nice facility. Not a huge weight lifting area, but 3 times I’ve been there it hasn’t been crowded. Lots of cardio equipment and it seems to be well maintained. Pool is nice, it has a very warm small shallow pool and a larger pool (still warm but not as warm) for lane swimming. There is a walking/ running track that circles the gym below…all in all, I would recommend for families.

Positive experience: Great positive vibes. Healthy atmosphere. Other than the lifeguard who consistently nods off while on duty , it's a great place to get healthy

Positive experience: The swimming experience was absolutely thrilling for the kids, who had a blast splashing around. The exceptional attentiveness shown by the lifeguards was really reassuring, allowing me to have complete peace of mind while I enjoyed my time outside the poolside. It was fantastic to witness my 12-year-old boys confidently swimming on their own, showcasing their independence and enjoying every moment of their time in the water.

Negative experience: Went to inquire about swimming and was offered to pay $22 bi weekly to use the pool, $572 annually, 5x more than what I was paying in Hamilton just for swimming. Welland needs a proper recreation center, this is robbery.

Fantastic experience: Five stars go to Juliellen , YMCA fitness instructor! I am very new to Niagara region; moved recently from Toronto. Joined Welland YMCA just a few weeks ago. My experience confirms the simple fact that great people make a huge difference. It is not always necessary about the most luxurious environment or the most advanced equipment. It is about how you do feel and do you move towards your goals ( fitness goals, in this case). Juliellen's level of professionalism and commitment are truly impressive. Her energy, positiveness , her strength and beautifully sculptured silhouette , I am sure , can serve as an example and inspiration for every woman.

Negative experience: I have been a member for decades. This ymca is even dirtier than the grimsby one. Sadly, the staff spend a lot of time on their phones and chatting rather than working. Please tour the change rooms hourly and tidy them. Mop the floors. Dust the tops of the lockers. Fill the sanitize. Monitor the teens for making videos in the locker room. Thanks.

Fantastic experience: I recently became a member and I have to say I love it here, the gym is always clean and not over crowded and the pool is a huge plus as well. Definitely worth the cost! Staff always friendly as well! However do wish they had later hours :(

Positive experience: The pool is kinda exspenisve it’s $15 for 2 people. Its also a bit wired how the do there public swim because they have lanes and only one lane is for public swimming. The staff are nice tho

Negative experience: They need a better payment system for use of the pool. $10 for my toddler and I to swim for less than an hour is a huge rip off. We don’t need day passes for 30 minutes in the pool. They used to charge $2.50 each. I understand inflation but 200% markup on price is ridiculous.

Positive experience: Love this spot. Always pretty clean and decent equipment. The pool and sauna are why I go. Unfortunately they don't have later hours and I hope that changes. Staff are always pretty friendly and helpful.

Fantastic experience: Staff are fabulous and so helpful, i hear complaints about the cost, remember, the building and equipment need maintained, it does not come free, for the monthly cost in my opinion it is well worth the money, keep it up guys

Positive experience: This was my first workout visit here and the utensils were in good shape and clean. Wish the machine cleaning system was a little more efficient and environmentally friendly as the wipes dried up too fast and were hard to use on the larger areas; recyclable paper towels and squirt bottles would be better but I guess in this age of viruses commonly touched items need to be reduced although that is the norm of gym equipment anyhow so...? Love the warm water pool, can't wait to jump in. Use of the gym for bball was fun. The individual changerooms were nice but there were complaints by some about the family room showers gushing out burning water intermittently that needs fixing. They are renovating here so the air may not be the clearest upstairs right now but koodos for the upgrade. The staff are very nice, friendly and helpful with greetings and goodbyes so overall it was a nice experience

Negative experience: Went to the ymca this morning, on my way out. I was greeted by the general manager waiting by my car, on the phone with someone, likely the police to have my car towed. Typical "karen" . she portrays herself as a super nice woman but that is infact, far from the case. I had specifically asked if I could park in the shaded area behind the dumpsters. Employees had given me permission. As I have my dog in the car for another week and it's hot out.. I walk up to my car. She walks out. And says "who are you?!" With a very aggressive tone. I tell her, your employees have given me permission to park here. She continues to tell me in a very aggressive manner that I cannot park here, despite the fact I am complying and only simply letting her know I had been given permission as she was asking about the details of the conversation of me and her employees from last week. The best part is , as I was canceling my membership, she tried to ask me to go back to the car to get my card, which is not necessary, being that they've signed me in without it ,offering to do so when I forgot my card. Even better. After being a total karen to me, as someone is walking out , just after mentioning that she's likely the reason this place is currently dead and that they'd likely end up closing down like st Catharines, she puts the biggest fake smile on her face and says " have a great day!" To the next person leaving, in the very moment she's being a total b****. Doesn't get much more fake then that.... It's one thing to act like a good person. It's another to be a good person. Wish you guys were there to see her demeanor .... Enjoy the read karen :) Hope you wake up on the right side of the bed tomorrow , although I'm not sure you even have a "good side" to wake up on. Positive experience: Frequent here with my daughter for swim lessons. Staff is friendly, water is on the cool side for age group, but great for swimming laps. Wish the change rooms (family ones) were larger and more spacious. Find it is always a scramble to get a locker, change too and everyone is crowded like crazy.

Negative experience: You do not want to swim here unless you are rich!! They charge you by the hour. Our family of 4 made reservations ( as you have to call ahead and book a time ) it cost $15 for ONE HOUR!! Oh how I miss the local Niagara Falls YMCA where I would take the children for the afternoon and it would cost us $15 and we would swim for 2-3 hours. The pool in Welland is considerably smaller and they do not have a slide.

Fantastic experience: At the Port Colborne branch, participate in Group fitness classes and volunteer instructor of the Muscle Fit program. All great classes and friendly, engaged participants. Instructors well qualified and attentive to participants needs.

Positive experience: Clean facility with friendly staff. Price for fitness membership is good, but the all inclusive membership gets a bit steep. Business week schedule No Sundays. Comfortable for those new to fitness centers.
