Positive experience: One suggestion - the Asian lady who works weekday mornings, she’s very nice and friendly, but she put the music on SO LOUD. I’m pretty sure most people at the gym prefer to listen to their own music while working out, so having the background music blasting is kind of distracting. For this very reason I even bought some expensive noise cancelling headphones on Black Friday, but to my disappointment, I can still hear the gym music through my own music even with noise cancelling on. I haven’t noticed this issue with any other staff, so if the owner can kindly pass the message to the sweet lady, I’ll happily change my rating to 5 stars.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to this gym for just a 4month, and can say it is good gym. A good assortment of machines/weights. And stuff so friendly and help you if you have problem. I recommend this gym

Negative experience: So many things suck about this gym. First off they never have the AC on, it’s so hot. Secondly, majority of their machines don’t work! There’s so much equipment everywhere and half of them don’t work. Lastly, it’s dirty.

Fantastic experience: Lovely and spacious gym with convenient layout and beautiful big windows! Not super busy, even at peak time, and the staff are all enormously kind. Parking is convenient, the rates are good, and staff are attentive to equipment that isn't working. I love Olympus!

Fantastic experience: I have been going to this gym for just under a year, and can say it is one of my favorite gyms I've been to. A good assortment of machines/weights, and even when busy always seems to be something that you can use to get your workout done. Staff is very friendly as well, and gym always seems to be pretty clean! Love this place

Fantastic experience: This gym is pretty underrated! They have so many great machine’s including smith machine, leg press, lots of upper and lower. Only thing I would say is that the cardio machines are a little old and feel a bit wobbly sometimes but everything works nonetheless. Prices are extremely reasonable! Free parking is a bonus too

Negative experience: The abductor machine has had the issue since the first day I signed up a couple months ago, it won’t go into the first hole no matter how hard I tried, resulting in users not being able to exercise in full range of motion. I’ve reported this problem to the front desk people multiple times over the past months, and nothing has been done about it. I’m honestly a little disappointed, feels like they don’t take my feedback seriously. Just because it’s not completely broken down, they don’t bother fixing it…

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to the gym for about a month now, I injured my shoulder during my workouts, Lisa was really helpful in understanding my situation and helped us out with pausing/transferring my membership, would definitely recommend the centre as is economical and Lisa is a great personal trainer to have if you’re looking to get that!

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Olympus Fitness Centre for a few months now. Good and ample machines, good staff, napkins and spray provided for you to clean the equipment before and after use! If you’re looking for a great gym on commercial drive, this is it!

Fantastic experience: Got a gym membership here recently, and I already feel like I got my money’s worth! Gym is relatively quiet and all the employees and members are respectful. For $40/month (cheaper than basically every other gym in Vancouver) I feel like it is well worth the cost; sign-up was seamless, and the gym is straightforward. The gym itself is a little worn down but is very functional and well-maintained. The huge skylight and separate areas make the gym feel more open and expanded despite being inner-city in an older building. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a local gym that doesn’t want to pay $80/month just to work out. The hours also work well, being open as early as 5:30am and usually closing around 10pm.

Fantastic experience: I went to the Gym here during my semester abroad and loved it! The staff is super chill & friendly, the vibe in the gym is great and everyone is very respectful to each other. Other than that you have all the equipment you need, I also love the little room in the back with the squat rack. Big recommendation!

Fantastic experience: I spent a few months in Vancouver and chose Olympus as my gym while here. Staff are always willing to help and the manager was friendly and flexible with my situation. There are lots of free weights and they make good use of the space with a variety of machines. I had everything I needed while here and really enjoyed the gym.

Fantastic experience: Olympus has been a fantastic fitness centre with all the needed equipment for every type of training. The lower level is great for stretching, warming up, and all sorts of exercises. I really enjoyed using all the different equipment they have to offer! Not to mention the gym is very clean and well organized with great staff!

Positive experience: Old machines and some of them are almost never working. Good thing is the front desk staff is very friendly and the place is not at all crowded.

Fantastic experience: Just signed up to this gym and I am loving it! Has everything you need and sign up was effortless. Lots of space and the staff put in a lot of effort to ensure the place is clean which I really appreciate. Most importantly for me, friendly community where I'm comfortable working out and make friends. 5 stars.

Positive experience: Great vibe, everyone working out here is friendly, no egos or weirdos. Lots of free weights, has a squat rack and multiple benches. Lately noticed a few machines were broken for a bit, but have since been repaired. Price is right, and vibe is too.

Negative experience: I was working out here for over a year. Staff were very friendly, good vibes from everyone. I was so happy until someone stole my wallet from my locker and started making huge purchases until my credit card company notified me and locked the card. Even though the entrance to the locker room is cover by CCTV, staff were unable to help me, not even querying the people on the CCTV footage if they noticed any suspicious activity. I’m pretty sure it isn't the first time that someone’s belong were stolen and no action was taken. :’(

Negative experience: Haven’t been here since before the pandemic and just noticed they rebranded, increased their price from 20.99 to 40.99 without notice and as such charged my account for the past 17 months. Went to cancel in person and was given the run-around. The manager refused to give any refund or take accountability. Was offered a “new”rate of 20.99 but I don’t trust these people and their unethical business practices! Avoid this place!

Negative experience: Was pretty good until there was more broken/ outdated machines and that ones that worked. Seems like every day a machine breaks down. The front desk attendant says the owner doesn't care until it's completely unusable. My leg caught stuck in the machine because the pin is broken. Loose bolts on the new benches. Pathetic

Fantastic experience: This gym is a gem in East Vancouver, it's right off of commercial drive, kind of tucked away behind a grocery store. I've worked out here many times, through using classpass for gym sessions. This is a real gym, not one of those fake community center gyms where there is absolutely no gym energy. There's 3 levels, upstairs cardio, main floor weights, botttom floor fitness room and lockers. I like this gym because there's a big variety of weights and it's not too packed when I go in the mornings. Also, the staff here is sooo friendly, and I'm new so I appreciate that. THe gym is clean, and organized. Definitely plan to come back here again again.

Fantastic experience: Amazing gym with three floors split into cardio, weights and yoga. I've been going to this gym for 5+ years and love it – the new management have made it such a welcoming space! Convenient location, friendly staff, never crowded, great price and a relaxed atmosphere. The southern-facing wall is floor-to-ceiling windows that let in lots of natural light. Great gym!

Fantastic experience: Great little gym that covers all the essentials of weightlifting and cardio equipment. Even has a studio downstairs for boxing, yoga, etc. Staff are friendly and proactive in keeping the gym clean. The equipment is a bit old but they do the job. Not an issue with me but may be for others. Best thing is it doesnt get super busy in the mornings and nights like at other gyms.

Fantastic experience: There’s a lack of gyms in the East Van area. Olympus is a well placed fitness center- right at Commercial Dr and 1st Ave. It’s got a decent selection of free weights and machines. The staff is very nice and the protein shake station is reasonably priced. AJ who works the main desk is always upbeat and positive. I’ve been a regular of this gym for about 10 years and I recommend this gym.

Positive experience: I have been working out at this gym for a couple decades now, through various owners and management regimes. I have been doing the gym thing for over 40 years, so have a lot of experience to draw from, in making comments about Olympus. I have to say that I love working out here. The staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful. There is a lot of equipment; a good mix of free weights, squat racks, machines, etc.There is lots of space, so not often crowded or waiting for equipment. The new team is diligent about keeping the gym clean, which I am very appreciative for. The location and price are great too. In closing, I highly recommend Olympus Fitness Centre.
