GoodLife Fitness Mount Pearl Richard Nolan and Merchant Drive

Negative experience: Called regarding over 300$ they’ve charged my girlfriend over the past two months. They refuse to refund as of yet. When I got ahold of an employee working the night shift I told him I was calling on my gfs behalf, told him her name and he instantly hung up on me. 7 calls later kept getting hung up on without answer each time I called back.

Negative experience: I have been a member for several years. They just hired a new manger and the gym is ran poorly.

Negative experience: Very very loud music. Average 90db and over 100db at times. Not healthy for your hearing. GM states this is normal here. Lol. Get strong and deaf at this gym. Today we are at 88.8db and peak 102db. A very slight improvement. Get strong get deaf.

Positive experience: I love the gym but very poor service on the weekends

Fantastic experience: Great environment while working out. The staff are super friendly and immediately make you feel welcome and comfortable. They always greet you and they motivate everyone to keep pushing for greater outcomes.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to GoodLife, Mount Pearl, since 2011. Staff have always been and are professional, friendly, and willing to help at a moment’s notice. Personally, I’ve dealt with Brett with regard to my membership and Brett has shared that if I have any concerns, not to hesitate to contact one of the GoodLife, team members. This is what a great, health club’s all about.

Fantastic experience: Friendly staff, clean facility with ample equipment to exercise any muscle group, or for an aerobic workout. The locker, showers and sauna are well maintained.

Negative experience: I had to pay an extra $25 " service fees" because their system failed to withdraw money from my account, although I had money. I just canceled my membership. Trash service

Fantastic experience: My favorite Goodlife in the St. John's area. The free weight space is a little cramped but has a nice sized artificial turf area for conditioning workouts in the winter.

Positive experience: Not sure what changed in last two weeks, but nothing better than driving over hr in to gym to find out they starting making bookings again.

Negative experience: I am traveling and needed a quick place to workout. They were doing day passes but when they told me 30 dollars for a one day drop in... at 9pm and they close at 10...I was floored and they couldn't give me a reason for the insane price. I have been to huge citys and independent gyms from Canada to America and never that insane for a day pass. This is why good life gets its shady rep from.

Negative experience: So frustrating dealing with this company. I had a membership here for several years. Over that time I realized the borderline scam tactics that Goodlife uses to squeeze every dollar it can out of it's members. On top of the premium cost they charge for membership, they require tangly 1 year contracts, before which you'll have to pay a $100 cancellation fee. The equipment at this location gets very heavy use, it's not uncommon to have multiple people lined up to use machines and not a single treadmill available for use. The same equipment has been run-down for the whole time I've been a member there(years). Equipment with adjustable parts have the holes for various positions reamed out and will slip between positions when under strain. Mix-matched equipment parts that do not properly fit the benches/cable machines. My girlfriend also cancelled her membership due to the high volume of people there and state of the equipment, but this was not a reasonable excuse to cancel according to goodlife so she was charged a $100 cancellation fee, AND her next payment which would not be charged for several weeks. On top of that, they will not allow you to cancel over the phone so you have to physically visit a goodlife location to provide the exact same information that you could over the phone. Just another way to extend your membership a little longer and charge you more money. When I visited a location to cancel I was informed that even though my membership would be cancelled, on top of the payment that was being charged that day, they would still be charging me for the NEXT payment in 2 weeks time. There was no manager on staff that I could argue this with so I tried calling their 1-800 number... due to high call volumes, they are not accepting any more calls...?! This is a national company and you can't get someone on the phone. Do yourself and your community a favor and support local, get a membership at a locally operated gym that actually cares about it's members more than lining their pockets. That's what I did and I have no complaints.

Fantastic experience: Love the stretching area right outside of group fitness so that you can stretch out before classes, I appreciate the more private stretching area just upstairs if your a bit anxious or shy and love the womens only section with cardio equipment where you only have to walk in through the double doors to access. It's awesome that they lock the doors at nights which helps me feel safer during my midnight workouts and I would highly recommend talking to the motivators and management for alternative workouts when the equipment is being maintained they are all so insightful.

Fantastic experience: Love the women’s only section, and the fact that it’s 24 hours means you can workout whenever you want. This gym can be rather busy at times since it’s the only one in Mount Pearl so people from all over go there.

Positive experience: Great gym and a lot of space. Can be busy at peak hours, though, because the are a lot of classes offered. Seldom enough parking.

Positive experience: It's gone a little downhill the past couple years with new management. They keep moving everything around. The stretching equipment is in the middle of the elliptical and other cardio equipment instead of the upstairs part of the gym, making it more uncomfortable to use, which is terrible for people with anxiety or low self-esteem. I still enjoy going there at times but I don't go as much as I used to and I'm looking for other gyms to go to eventually.

Positive experience: Great gym but they have a min of a year contract. I prefer the summit centre for this reason.
