Omega Fit Club

Positive experience: Staff is friendly. But the equipment is not kept up and can sometimes be dangerous. Even when expressing concerns to staff or owners they do not seem to care and do not make any changes. Maintenance in terms of cleaning the facility itself is poor. Lights will not work in change rooms for a long period of time without being fixed, or period blood will be on the stall wall for days at a time. Or a pair of shoes or a water bottle in the same place in the change room for days. For the price of the membership I had higher standards. I also injured myself on the back squat machine because it was broken and there was no sign. Improvements could easily be made but again the staff do not seem to care. Simply things like replacing the worn out grip tape on the floor at the hip trust machine would be amazing, but after bringing it up to management and being told they would do something about it even though they didn’t after 2 months made me switch gyms. The atmosphere and people are nice.

Positive experience: None of the equipment is bolted down which is straight up dangerous especially for people moving weight on machines, two examples of this: the t bar row, as soon as you have 4 or more plates the back starts to lift up and that’s a terrifying thing flipping forward, second things is the pendulum squat, as soon as you have 4 plates or more on it the whole front lifts up when you’re coming out of the hole. The gym itself has a pretty good variety of equipment with dumbbells up to 120, plus a good variety of cable attachements only really missing cable cuffs. Has a sauna and clean change rooms. Great gym in the Kingston area. Update: Owner/Staff went out of his way to talk to me about my concern, he understood for the machines I mentioned and he mentioned fixing the problem with the pendulum. Great guy and definitely cares about his space.

Fantastic experience: Amazing experience from the beginning. Even though staff were not supposed to work at new years they happen to answer phone while being around and sign me up. they are very sweet and caring. Moreover very welcoming and smiling. All the important machines are there. People who also go there are very friendly and there to work out. It’s definitely my happy place. Highly recommended. Another aspect I like is that You get a key fob which is very handy to use rather than huge plastic card and it’s 24/7 access !!!. I’ve tried all the gyms and so far this one has my heart.

Fantastic experience: Switched over to Omega after (too) many years with the big box gyms and could not be happier. The gym has a huge variety of equipment, the staff, management and owners could not be more welcoming and they are truly 24/7 - 365 (want to burn off Christmas day turkey at 3am? you can do that here). Highly recommend to anyone looking to make a switch! Best of all, THEY ARE LOCAL!

Positive experience: I was in town for the week and found it an enjoyable experience. The rates are compariable or better to other commercial gyms and the enviorment with people and overall vibes is encouraging. I have some recommendations for owners. I found it hard to get into the gym without a fob on some days even though 10-7 is the staffed hours, i found that the doors were still locked and some staff weren't at the front desk. The other thing is that since i was there for a weeki got a week pass. However, there was no way to really show that(more of an honour system). I think it would work if there was a card that got punched every day you went in to show how often youve been in, or have a card that shows the start and end date. Overall, good gym. I'd go back again and would tell people to go too. Just some things i noticed that could be improved.

Fantastic experience: I don't live in Kingston but have family here, so I used a day-pass. Was absolutely amazed how great the equipment is. Everything works well, maintained properly, and the gym itself is not overly crowded. If you're committed to the gym then this is the perfect place to work out.

Negative experience: They rope you in to paying for 3 months after you cancel and the membership is like 50$ a month.

Fantastic experience: I rarely write reviews but after reading the only review listed here, and it being so negative, I had to write about my experience. I've probably belonged to every gym in Kingston over the past 20 years and this one is the best I've been too. It's a perfect size and not full of muscle heads. Members are focused on what they are doing, and not so much what everybody else is doing. It's very clean and I can't say one bad thing about the owners, or the staff. I was ready to walk out, only because I felt I wasn't using it enough to warrant my membership. But one of the trainers offered a few free training sessions to help me utilize the gym more efficiently. I'm so pleased she did, because since then, I go 3 to 4 times a week, and participate in the classes as well. You can't please everyone, that's a given. But in all fairness, judge for yourself. You won't be disappointed.

Fantastic experience: I must say that I have been going to Omega for a short time, but I am really impressed. I like the classes and the staff seem very nice. They recognize people and have always been helpful. I don't see anything posh about the place, which is one of the reasons I am thinking about joining for the year (I have a one month free membership, that was actually from a couple years ago, but they honoured so that pleased me). NEVER imagined I would say that I like spin class, but I do! Don't know what the other guy was talking about as it doesn't seem on the verge of closing at all. Great that it is open 24 hours.

Negative experience: I am very upset with omega fitness, recently there was a Covid issue with the gym. A member tested positive at their gym, my Husband received a text msg by owner stating the issue and that the member attended an indoor function, they reviewed the gym video footage and it was deemed as low risk by the gym owner. When my husband questions what would happen with this member, he was told in a nonchalant manner that they member was self isolation, what else should they do? after that my husband received a call by public health stating this incident was indeed high risk and that all gym members present that day would have to go into self isolation, it was then that we found out this gym member attended a queens university indoor party where they contracted the disease..! I am worried now for my husband as he loves going to the gym and Omega fitness could not even have the decency to it members by revoking this persons gym membership. this member was truly negligant in their covid protocols and have endangered all members and their families at omega fitness. I believe the minimal the gym could do is revoke this members gym membership. I am very disappointed how they have handled this situation.

Fantastic experience: I've been coming to Omega since 2013. I have to say, it is by far the best gym in town. The new owners are very friendly and welcoming to everyone. This is a real gym, no lunk alarm, noise, grunting, chalk, etc are all allowed.

Fantastic experience: Everyone who goes to this gym is 10 , girls & guys. It's refreshing to be in a gym atmosphere where people aren't wandering aimlessly and using equipment improperly .

Fantastic experience: I've been a member of omega for close to a year. It recently came under new ownership and the new owners are constantly upgrading or add new equipment the gym is always clean and organized and has a great atmosphere. The gym is open 24hr and has the equipment to accommodate any training style, I'd say it's the best gym in Kingston.

Fantastic experience: 24 hour access, clean facilities, good equipment. TechnoGym machines, bumper plates, rubber coated plates, Olympic bars, benches, dumb bells, Astro turf, sleds, kettle bells, battle ropes, stair climber, treadmills. It's been under new management for over a year now and the new owners are good guys. I would classify it as a middle range gym; lower rates than GoodLife but higher than Planet Fitness.

Fantastic experience: Omega Fit Club is just that, a club. It has a neighborhood feel that other gyms I've trained in fall short on. The majority of the gyms in my area feel corporate and impersonal. The staff at Omega actually cares that I am feeling comfortable and motivated. They’re simply incredible - they know me by name and often go out of their way to make me feel welcome. They have made fitness/workout recommendations which have been integral and indispensable to my fitness progress. The proprietors of the gym, Mike and Michelle, are two of the most genuine individuals I've ever had the pleasure of meeting; both with levels of fitness becoming of persons who own and manage a quality fitness establishment. The facility is eminently immaculate and well maintained and the members are respectful, orderly and diverse. I've been a member for 5 years now and I will remain a loyal member for as long as I physically can.

Fantastic experience: Where to start..... I have been a member at Omega Fit Club off and on for about 4 years now and have had not one problem with the gym. As far as the gym itself goes it has everything you need and more. It is always well maintained and super clean, not to mention open 24 hours 365. You would think that with all the benefits this gym has to offer its the reason I keep coming back between school breaks or travelling but its not. What sets this gym above the rest is the customer service. Friendly, helpful and understanding staff. I cant tell you how many times this gym has helped me out, whether it was losing a fob or by helping me with finding a great membership price when I am only home for 18 days. Highly recommend this club.

Negative experience: I had a police officer show up at my door because the owner (who I can't even remember her name) thought I was writing bad reviews about her on facebook. Can you believe someone gets the police involved for a facebook review? I was a member there years ago and thought she really needed to understand how to run a business and we had words and two or three years later she suspects its me So if she is that off about reviews ummmm do I need to say more??? I wonder if anyone else had this problem with her?

Negative experience: I think the positive reviews on here are probably fake profiles from the owners. This place really needs to step it up, they are going to be out of business as soon as planet fitness shows up. They really need to sell the business. The people that own it are their own worst enemy and the run it extremely poorly. I will be high fiving it when I see a sold sign!

Negative experience: I have been a member for the past six months. Unfortunately I will not be renewing my membership. I signed up with Omega for two reasons. First they offered a 06:15 spin class two days a week and secondly the close proximity to my home. Unexpectedly it was announced that the two spin classes were cancelled and we could use the "fitness on demand" big screen TV option. No doubt the decision was based on a very low turnout, never more than 6 people on any given morning. Fitness centers have to understand that attendance should not be the driving factor when offering a scheduled class. My belief is I joined your facility with an expectation of the club providing the service regardless of the number of people attending. Goodlife and Progress Fitness(now YMCA west) were guilty of the same behavior. So I will be moving on to my fourth facility realizing that I should just buy in to my self directed "fitness on my own" for a lot less money.

Fantastic experience: I am new to Kingston more importantly an avid gymer. I wanted a membership that would cover my basic workout needs free weights, cardio machines, adequate space, clean facility. I decided to conduct a large experiment trying every recognized gym in kingston. The end result omega came out on top although I wish the gym provided WIFI, but other than that I can not complain. The facility was well maintained the weights in good shape and the prices fair.

The owners and staff are wonderful, the equipment is top of the line, classes are a blast (especially spin), the facility is always clean and the members are awesome too! I highly recommend Omega Fit Club for any age group, male or female. :)
