Negative experience: I would not recommend this gym to anyone. I signed up for the 7 day free trial. Upon doing this, it was required to have a meeting with a sales associate. This associate was very pushy and made me uncomfortable with talking about my weight and why I wanted to lose weight. This was not my focus, I just wanted to workout and try a new gym. They also make you sign up for free personal training sessions but the trainer, although lovely, was very hard to book in with and cancelled my appointment 40 minutes prior. I was told this was my fault because I didn’t want to continue after my free trial even though I told them I was not interested in continuing after my scheduled appointment. Either way, I ended up getting charged for my time there and was told there was nothing they could do but I could at least continue to use the facilities. I refuse to go back into these gyms so it was a waste of money. The workers often stand around and chat so when you have a question for the front desk, you often need to wait until they are done their conversations to get a word in. The workers also like to use the leg massage machine so they are tough to get a time in to use. I did not feel welcomed here and as for a gym, it was not inclusive. I will never recommend this experience to anyone. Please do better as the gym is a sensitive place for some.

Negative experience: Started this GYM a few months after surgery and realized wasn’t ready to start exercising so paused membership which was at a cost of $50 that wasn’t disclosed when I signed up. Then called over the phone to just cancel since I wasn’t able to continue only to be told had to come in person to cancel and that there was another fee of $100 to cancel. If that wasn’t bad enough, even after cancellation they need a 30-day notice so they still continue to take money from your account even after you already paid the $100 and came in person as they requested. If that wasn’t bad enough they also took $61 for annual fee from my account on Jan 3, 2026 which is the day I came in to cancel membership and am being told they can’t waive. This is such a rip off.

Fantastic experience: I've been going to this location for years now, before it was rebranded. It's a spacious location with everything you need to get a good workout in. They have two power racks, two squat racks, and three deadlifting platforms. Tons of benches, free weights, plate loaded and weight selector machines, and many cardio machines. Friendly staff and the locker rooms are neat and tidy.

Negative experience: I previously left a positive review for this gym because, at the time, my experience was genuinely good. I signed up on December 27th and for most of my membership I genuinely enjoyed the environment. Unfortunately, things changed significantly in the last several months, and I feel it is only fair to update my review to reflect what I have personally experienced more recently. Most of the staff I knew from earlier in the year have been replaced over the last eight months. The new staff have been friendly, but I do not know them as well. They mostly know me because I am sociable and I try to create a welcoming community atmosphere as a member. That used to be one of the best parts of coming here. Recently, though, the energy shifted and the environment started to feel more uncomfortable, especially once I began treating my membership strictly as a business transaction after several incidents. Things changed after an employee contacted me from their personal phone during work hours asking me for alcohol. Shortly after, management accused me of trying to get staff drunk, which was not true. I raised my concerns about that situation along with safety issues in the men’s change room, repeated dirty towels, and peeling tiles in the steam room. These were all things I personally witnessed and reported. I escalated these concerns to the General Manager in writing, and she forwarded them to the Regional Manager. Before I received any response from regional, my membership was suddenly terminated without explanation, without evidence, and without specifying what rule I supposedly violated. The termination letter quoted a generic contract clause and stated that the matter was closed, which felt extremely dismissive considering the concerns I raised. To make matters worse, I had already paid my membership in full up to my last day. They cancelled my membership immediately and told me a refund would be mailed to me. I informed them that I no longer have a Canadian mailing address because I am preparing to go overseas for an extended period. I requested that the refund be returned electronically, the same way payments were taken from my account, and received no response. Throughout this time, employees told me they had been instructed not to interact with me, and none of the issues I raised were ever acknowledged or addressed. As someone who referred multiple people to this gym, including two new sign-ups in November, it was disappointing to be treated this way after being a loyal and positive member since December. My earlier positive review reflected how things used to be, but my recent experience has been extremely disappointing. This update reflects only my firsthand experience and how things changed after I attempted to responsibly bring concerns to management’s attention. What makes the situation even more concerning is that the company never acknowledged the misuse of my personal information, nor did they acknowledge their responsibilities under PIPA and the privacy terms outlined in the same contract they used to cancel my membership. For transparency, I will be filing formal complaints with the Alberta Privacy Commissioner, Consumer Protection Alberta, and the Better Business Bureau so that the appropriate departments can review how this situation was handled. I am mentioning this here because other members who feel their concerns were not taken seriously should know where they can submit their own complaints if they choose to. I truly hope the company takes accountability and improves how member concerns, staff conduct, privacy obligations, and refunds are handled moving forward.

Negative experience: one of the worst gyms in yeg, AWFUL customer service ever since the new manager and her new employees. Dont recommend one bit stay away from this gym.

Negative experience: Train your front desk staff to be courteous. Don’t hire people who have zero customer service skills. That’s bad business practice. When people have never been to your gym and want to tour to see the facility, I believe it’s utterly ignorant for your staff to tell them that they have to book an appointment with a trainer and pay for the tour. That’s utter nonsense.

Negative experience: I visited GYMVMT to try their advertised “7-day free trial,” but was told it’s only available to people they deem likely to sign up for a membership this was not disclosed in their advertisement. When I asked questions about this, the staff falsely accused me of being hostile and refused service, all in front of my friend, which was humiliating. I found this experience misleading and unprofessional. Be cautious if you’re considering their offers.

Fantastic experience: This gym is fantastic! I’ve been training here for years and it has always been excellent…they have everything you need for all types of training, whether you’re an amateur or pro. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a gym.

Negative experience: Me and my sister have been coming here for 4 years, and we have always loved how welcoming everyone was. However, in the past year we have noticed changes in the staff as well as in their hospitality. We smile and try to engage with the people at the front desk, and half of the time we are ignored. We are lucky if we even get a “hello” or “goodbye.” It sucks that a place we love to go to lacks basic costumer service.

Negative experience: There’s literally mice and cockroaches in the gym. Absolutely disgusting

Positive experience: Only thing that annoys me is there’s no mirrors in the powerlifting room. Which would be amazing to watch your own form while squating/deadlifting. Which can be very dangerous lifts, mirrors can be used to progress in lifts and correct bad form you can’t see. Witch is impossible with a gym that dosnt have mirrors. Gyms should be focused on helping you improve. Thats why we pay for memberships. Additionally it gets hot in the summer here they could add more large fans and actually turn them on so we don’t faint while working out. Also wish they had a couple more back machines.Besides that clean area, good machines, Friendly staff/members good for the average gym go’er

Negative experience: I really liked the facility itself and the general manager was very kind and professional. General manager also helped clarify a previous incident. However Unfortunately, my experiences with the staff made me decide to cancel my membership. Aisha created an even worse experience. My boyfriend has severe anxiety, so when she asked him questions, he tapped me to help answer. She looked at me and said, “Ya, I’m talking to him, asking HIM.” After I explained politely that he has anxiety, she dismissed it with, “Not tryna overstep but it can come off that way to other people since he’s a grown adult.” Instead of empathy, we got attitude — which is unacceptable from the first person guests interact with. We tried to continue our workout, but mid-way my boyfriend told me he didn’t like the vibes and wanted to leave. At that point, I decided to cancel my membership too. A gym should feel supportive and welcoming, and unfortunately the staff interactions made it clear this wasn’t the right environment. The facility and general manager are excellent, but the staff’s lack of maturity and kindness brings the experience down. Staff interactions should match the professionalism and care the management sets.

Positive experience: There are some excellent instructors at this gym. In Dana’s classes you get a real workout. She makes sure that you are doing your exercises correctly and is very enthusiastic about fitness, health and wellness. I’m glad they have added more classes as her classes are always full. Chelsea is an excellent Zumba instructor. You can see she absolutely loves teaching Zumba. She has a lot of energy and always has a huge smile on her face. I absolutely love her Saturday classes. Erin’s Thursday class is wonderful if you need that stretch and adaptive yoga moves this is the class. It’s very beneficial for your body. The reason I’ve given this gym a four is because there is sometimes a lack of equipment and at times due to the building the toilets break down and there needs to be better air circulation. It tends to be very hot downstairs and upstairs. It would benefit if there were ceiling fans upstairs and extra fans mounted downstairs. We’ve made several friends there of various nationalities and everyone look out for each other.

Negative experience: Came in looking to sign up for a membership. Just wanted to walk around the gym and see what they had. I was told I had to pay a 20$ drop in just to look at the gym, or come back in 3 hours. Person at front didn’t bother telling me anything they offer or even what amenities they had. Went to another gym and was happily given a tour. Save yourself the time and money and go somewhere they actually care.

Negative experience: I would NEVER recommend this gym. When I signed up, I was NEVER told about a $99 cancellation fee. If I had known, I wouldn’t have joined in the first place. Now when I tried to cancel, they tried to charge me and acted like it was my fault. The staff on the phone basically called me a liar, saying “all their workers always tell customers” — which is simply not true in my case. Very unprofessional, dismissive, and shady business practices. They care more about squeezing money out of people than being honest and transparent. Do yourself a favor and take your business somewhere that actually respects its members.

Negative experience: Sure is a lot of nice FAKE reviews written lately! If you think you're being greeted by anything other than a bossy woman ready to hassle you at the front counter, you're in for a surprise. Did she ignore you? Don't worry, she was belating someone else at the time but she'll come find you during your work out. Ready to share your banking information with her several times and still not have her enter it into their system properly on your next visit? Paid up to date and she's still a nightmare. It's clear there is no data security for customer information. No wonder this place has such high turn over (customers and staff). I keep trying every few months because the location is ideal but this attitude from the desk girl is unreasonable and unrelenting.

Negative experience: Canceled my membership approximately 2 months ago and they have still been taking out the 28 dollars every two weeks, had to put a stop payment on them for my bank, and they reached out to me a week ago again saying my balance is overdue, I emailed them back saying that I had canceled the membership and that they've taken out enough payments to cover the cancelation fee, they told me that the cancelation wasn't input properly even though I had to go back to cancel two separate times, they then emailed me back saying it was canceled and that I still have to pay the cancelation fee even though they've taken approximately 112 dollars from my bank since the cancelation. On top of that to begin with I wanted to subscribe monthly so that if I wanted to cancel there wouldn't be a fee no commitment, but was pressured by employees at this location to do the year plan and that's where they get you. Be very careful of charges with this gym and keep a close eye on your bank account after cancelation.

Fantastic experience: I have registered in GYMVMT on April. There was a really really pleasant lady named “Sarah Gabramaskal“ who is a really supportive lady at the gym. She is so kind, supportive, honest, and reliable staff at the gym. If you get any issues or even if you have any concerns, I would recommend talking to her only. She is the best and the reason I'm still at the gym movement is because of her nice behaviour. If I want to write a good review I would love to write a letter to the main office managers that they have to look at these staff. They deserve to be granted and get a good award. Negative experience: While the gym space and equipment were top-notch, my experience took a frustrating turn after spinal surgery. Trying to quit the gym became a complete nightmare. Despite my medical condition, they insisted I had to show up in person to cancel my membership, making an already difficult situation even worse. Why is it so hard to cancel a gym membership? This lack of flexibility and customer care overshadowed what could have been a positive experience.
