The staff are always friendly and make an effort to know my family and I. Definitely love the local, more intimate personal vibes at this gym. love it. Big thanks to Doug and the team!

Fantastic experience: Very fond of this gym. It gives a homey, kinda bodybuilder style because of the worn-in equipment — all of which work very effectively, smoothly, and with a variety too ! Not my usual gym but very tempted to switch because of how peaceful this spot is. Great choice if you live in the area and are looking for a proper weightlifting gym. Waled was super helpful and friendly as well!

Negative experience: This gym is almost an outright scam. They have a cancellation policy that insists you can only cancel membership at the front desk, and not through phone or email, even if you're already two time zones away. This policy is NOT disclosed anywhere on their website. The disclosure is hidden away as a few lines in a document that is multiple pages long that you get to sign at the front desk at start of membership and have give back to them right away. There is a very deliberate lack of conspicuous disclosure. If someone is trying very hard to scam you in one way, it's best to stay away from them in every way, because they are probably scamming you elsewhere. Another issue I ran into more than once in the gym is that the cleaning sprays were sometimes just water. I'm not sure if those were just some of the employees being sloppy or a practice encouraged by the management. The company is just not trustworthy. EDIT: The owner is playing dumb in their response. I had to make several phone calls to the front desk and engaged in long frustrating arguments. They eventually referred me to contact the business owner to get around the cancellation policy, and that's what I did. That behaviour is too scammy.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to gym for almost a decade and found this gym very reasonable with standard equipment that works great. Some put reviews about old equipment! If you are a gym person, old or new doesn’t matter! Standard equipment is the utmost importance. This business is a locally owned business and the owners care their business with love. They treat the clients with respect however they have rules so if you think you are an exception to the rules you might be selfish so don’t blame others! The gym has also a martial arts salon, stretching salon and Sauna plus very good trainers if you are a newbie!

Negative experience: I initially signed up for this gym because it's a few blocks from my house, knowing that it was for a lack of a better description 'a little rough around the edges'... But it's truly disgusting. The equipment is so old and some of it falling apart...one of two stairmasters are often out of service.. all the while charging similar rates as a brand new good life location. It's worth it to pay a few extra dollars at your local good life or MNP centre to at least get new, clean equipment so you don't have to worry...

Fantastic experience: Great gym, I have been coming to this location for many years, from back when it was ProBodies. They have continually made improvements with new equipment and features. Friendly and diverse clientelle. Everything is kept clean and machine repairs are done quickly. My only wish would be adding another full squat rack, as these are in high demand, and I find there are some pieces of equipment in the middle area that are under-used and/or redundant. Keep up the good work!

Fantastic experience: Great staff, location and facilities. I work out in the morning before work and appreciate how friendly the staff is. Vinny greets me by name every day and tidies up the facilities several times during my workout. Coupled with a morning crowd that doesn't sit around on machines b/c they have somewhere to go, it's a great way to start my day.

Negative experience: strange policy of the gym, I had no way of knowing that I needed to cancel my membership in the club, since I had to leave, after the termination of my membership I did not visit the gym, but the money was withdrawn from my bank account. money down the drain!

Fantastic experience: My son have attended this gym and only have great things to say about it. The facilities always clean, and well-maintained. The staff at the gym has always been great. They're friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to help or offer advice. The owner Doug is particularly noteworthy—very nice, accommodating, and always helpful. They go above and beyond to ensure members have the best experience possible. Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: I am in town for a few weeks and needed a place to lift. Gym is clean and has every machine you need. Price is nice at $80/month. Overall a solid gym, nothing fancy but gets the job done with a clean facility and good equipment.

Fantastic experience: Was able to use my buddies guest pass and this gym is one of the cleanest and nicest gyms I’ve been to while traveling for work. For sure a 5 out of 5 and the front desk attendant was super helpful and friendly. Will for sure have to come back when in Calgary.

Negative experience: Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever had. Front staff made my family and I very uncomfortable and unwelcome, to the point we chose to cancel our membership. Very unfortunate as the gym itself was good.

Positive experience: Great gym overall. The only reason I gave 4.5 stars instead of five is for a few small things. There are too many air fresheners going off all the time for my taste. Personally, I’m not a big fan of bathroom and locker room air fresheners because I prefer natural products (Or just regular non perfumed air), and would prefer that these were not used or much less. Also, I do think that there need to be more signs in the locker rooms asking people not to text and use their phones in that space for privacy reasons. The only other small thing is that the showers could use a third hook for towels, as well as some little shelves for toiletries. Overall though, it’s a very good gym for serious fitness enthusiasts. :-)

Positive experience: Great gym, sneaky business practices. I wanted to freeze my membership for $10/month. I got an email saying I was going to be charged $60 for the freeze, even though it was supposed to be month by month. I went in to clarify with the associate that it was going to be billed at $10/month, which he confirmed. Of course my card was charged the full $60 AND my regular gym fees. So either he didn’t know or lied to my face, which is worse?

Fantastic experience: Had a great experience with Chad, one of the personal trainers, today. Asked him casually about some problems Id been having with training plateaus and he took 30 minutes to talk with me about goals, workouts, solutions etc. Super friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to help, very impressed. Didn't feel pressured to buy a session at all but still felt like he cared. The rest of the staff is also super friendly and professional and the gym itself is very well equipped

Fantastic experience: I have been a member of this gym for years, they constantly upgrade equipment and keep the facility clean and the equipment functioning as intended. Above all else is the customer service: they provide top notch support to all their members and are incredibly fair. I would highly recommend this gym.

Positive experience: Been going here for 6 weeks now. The gym is great. Some equipment is dated or not working, but they have everything that one should need. What I really want to talk about is the semi-private training that they offer. This is a very affordable (and I mean very) package they have put together where they provide semi-private training for a group of maximum 4 people. This is still catered to your individual needs but the time is split to make it more affordable. And you have access to the gym on your off days too! I have been enjoying working with Dani, one of the many trainers they have. She knows her stuff, cares about your progress within and outside the gym and actually *listens* to your needs and goals and helps you achieve them. Thank you Dani!

Fantastic experience: So far very happy with my decision to sign up for this gym! It's clean, well maintained with no shortage of equipment. I can count on one hand the number of times I've had to wait for a machine even at busy times. Beyond that, the prices and cancellation policy are more than reasonable!

Fantastic experience: My son attended their marshal art classes and had good experience and learning. They just increased their monthly submission a bit, but still affordable compared to other similar programs.

Fantastic experience: Love my gym! I've been a member for 3 years. Great energy, friendly staff and very well equipped. I just finished a couple of coaching sessions with Aris which will really help kickstart my new bulking session. Apparently you can teach an old dog new tricks!

Negative experience: Insane amount of fees. The reality your paying 5 times the amount advertised a month But somehow the gym is a constant a mess never anyone cleaning equipment or organizing it. Closes an hour earlier then advertised on weekends. Showers and bathrooms out of soap 9/10 times. The parking situation is terrible and indigo will give you a ticket for being over 2 minutes of the 2 hour maximum. Front desk Staff were decently friendly and could hold conversation. Allot of broken and worn down equipment. half the treadmills won’t turn on or they just crash or freeze.

Fantastic experience: Best gym I have been to in the city. It is constantly being cleaned, there is tons of equipment, and it is all spectacularly maintained. There is not even a light out in the bathrooms. This is the type of gym you look forward to working out at.

Fantastic experience: I've gone to this gym for +8 years. It's got a great workout area and everything you need, plus the majority of people that use the facility are dedicated. I had to cancel my membership recently due to a move. There was no issue whatsoever in cancelling the membership.

Fantastic experience: I have gone to Go Performance for 3 and a half years now. I love going to this gym. They have great weight equipment and boxing bags, the prices are reasonable and the hours are good. I have also done some personal training with Arek who is super friendly and talented. I would highly recommend checking this gym out.

Negative experience: I would not recommend this gym. VERY difficult to end a "no contract" membership.

Negative experience: AVOID THIS GYM Signed up with them for a month to month (no commitment) membership which was around $80. After 6 months I found out that they put me on some kind of contract, and the most ridiculous thing is during lockdown on December 12,2020 I called them in to cancel my membership, they did not cancel it. Today in July 2021 I found out they have been charging me every month up until now. They are scammers.

Additionally, they have been clear on their fees, and any additional charges. Super happy to have a gym open, that's close by - It's a necessity during COVID!

Furthermore, all the staff have been super nice and accommodating throughout Covid. Recently, as the result of a job change, I looked to cancel my membership as the gym was no longer on my commute. Doug (the owner) was very understanding of my situation and worked with me to find the best cancellation solution. He was very professional throughout all our dealings and I would highly recommend this gym to anyone in the southwest who is looking for a gym to call home.

Fantastic experience: I can't say enough about how amazing this gym is. It has everything and more that you could want in terms of free weights, machines, cardio, and then the added bonus of the martial arts areas; where there are longer bags for muay thai, punching bags, a speed bag, etc. You literally can't ask for more in a gym. Great price, great members, friendly staff, and an all around motivational place. Puts big box gyms to shame! If you're looking for a gym, definitely give them a try. You won't be disappointed.

Fantastic experience: Firstly I would like to say SHAME ON YOU for being so negative towards a local business trying to stay afloat during this terrible time. I was taught at a very young age if you have nothing nice to say just don't say it at all. Go Performance is doing what is required and recommended to keep their members safe. There are signs, cleaning supplies and sanitizer for all of us to use BEFORE AND AFTER use of the machines/equipment. GO PERFORMANCE is not a day care it is a gym. If adults are unable to do their part in cleaning their own equipment that is a YOU problem and not a management issue (maybe stay home) - they are not there to police and be your babysitter. I read that there is no cleaner on site - that is a flat out lie as I see the cleaner at least 2-3 times during my 1 hour workout every time I am there. I am happy to say that I feel that GO has done a great job keeping the gym clean and safe for the members. They are always there to hear feedback or concerns. THANK YOU FOR STAYING OPEN AND CLEAN AND BEING THERE FOR THE COMMUNITY - ESPECIALLY DURING THIS TIME

Fantastic experience: This gym is awesome! I moved to Calgary about 9 years ago and since then have been a member of a few different gyms around the city. This is it, I love GoPerformance! The staff are friendly, parking is included, the hours work great for me and it is the cleanest gym around, I promise! These guys clearly take pride in keeping their gym clean and I appreciate that so much. I also, participate in the Silverback Martial Arts program a few times a week. This is something I’ve always been interested in but never had the nerve to try it out. Nothing to be scared of here, this program is awesome! You can do kickboxing, jiu jitsu, karate, or all 3. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly and the coaches are knowledgeable and patient. Only regret is not joining sooner!

Fantastic experience: Just wanted to give a huge shoutout and thank you to GoPerformance/Doug Gill and Paul Sukys. Thank you so much to GoPerformance owner Doug Gill for always working hard and pushing forward to keep the gym at the highest class of standards. GoPerformance offers a great workout facility with an Olympic squat platform and a wide variety of workout equipment. Thanks to Doug, this equipment is kept in great working condition and consistently changed out if needed. GoPerformance also has a spectacular martial arts instructor with curriculum for all ages and levels. Paul Sukys has a karate program for kids as young as four, while mom and dad can get a workout in close by. He also teaches adult karate, beginner, intermediate, and advanced Muay Thai kickboxing. Paul Sukys goes above and beyond for the effort he puts into his students and martial arts programs. New students are welcomed and get the benefit of one-on-one time with Paul during class. Thanks to Paul, Doug, and GoPerformance, I have been given a healthy life as a martial artist.

Fantastic experience: With smaller, family run fitness facilities slowly becoming an thing of a the past, this place is truly a gem that really highlights all the things you love about fitness therapy. The staff are friendly and welcoming, its a huge space that has every variety of fitness equipment you could ask for, tons of space and multiple rooms to change up your workout scene - including a legitimate DOJO if you want to turn it up to 11 and take your COVID lockdown anger out on a wide assortment of hitting bags, a Finnish style sauna (sadly closed right now) and an owner who personally makes it his mission to connect with every member who trains there. It is not surprising to see how quickly people have caught on to the advantages of this place and are sick of the "shopping mall anxiety" fitness experience at large franchise facilities. I've also been incredibly impressed with how compliant the facility and the members have been at respecting the new COVID safety guidelines, while also keeping it a really fun experience to look forward to after long days at work with continuous negative news cycles trying to bring you down. Places like Go are a god send during these times, keep up the great work!

Fantastic experience: I came back to this gym for many reasons. The equipment is excellent, the staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable, the hours are great and it's a local business which is wonderful. Ever since I came back I've noticed that ownership has done a magnificent job of keeping the gym clean. They've been able to follow AHS protocols during these difficult and stressful times. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the staff and ownership at GoPerformance for all the hard work they've done and continue to do through these difficult times.

Fantastic experience: I have tried a lot of gyms in the city and this one is hands down the best. The staff are great and equipment is high quality and well maintained. The owner Doug took the time to make sure it was a great experience and an easy transition to the new club. I really enjoy the BJJ classes there as well. The instructor Paul is very knowledgeable and friendly. I won’t work out anywhere else.

Since COVID-19 restrictions started, the owners and staff have gone above and beyond to provide the highest quality of service. The people are amazing. The gym is absolutely spotless. Their martial arts school, "Silverback Martial Arts." has various disciplines led by highly experienced coaches Paul and Arek. The goperformance team has built a strong community which makes going to the gym that much better. I highly recommend this gym.
