Negative experience: BEWARE - I signed a 1 year agreement with this gym like many others, I even referred 3 people to this gym, however when my time was up, and I cancelled my contract as outlined in the contract I was charged a $200 cancelation fee with no proper explanation, even after being told that they would investigate I’ve attached my communication with their billing team, and when I’m back in the country I will be taking this to the media. I’ve also attached the email I have composed to the Calgary email address and their billing email.

Negative experience: i thought golds gym was a good gym! i was extremely wrong the gym is way over packed they give out way to many memberships. you can not get on any machines child minding is terrible your child should feel comfortable to be left with this stranger/worker but the person was miserable didn’t even look at her, all they want is you to sign the membership and take your money. all they care about. they don’t tell you most of the time there packed you can’t get on any machines

Negative experience: I’m quite disappointed with this Gold’s Gym. I come from a country where there were no Gold’s Gyms, and I’ve always wanted to train at one. I was very excited, but unfortunately, disappointment took over. For the price, I expected to find high-quality brand-name machines, but many of the machines under the Gold’s Gym brand are of poor quality, and maintenance isn’t always well taken care of. For half the price, in other cities and countries, I’ve trained in brand-new gyms with brands like Hammer Strength and Nautilus, Atlantis, Precor etc… I took a 1-year membership because it’s close to my work, but I won’t be renewing. It’s a shame.
Positive experience: If all you care about is working out, gold's isn't terrible. There's plenty of variety in weights and machines. My 3* however is more from the community. I've heard cancelling is a nightmare but I'm not quite there yet. Nobody reracks their weights, and quite a few people seem to have no concept of hygiene (walking around barefoot, notable odours etc). There's a woman's section, which is also good as my girlfriend has had to use it several times due to being leered at uncomfortably from other patrons. Overall when my contract expires I probably won't be coming back.

Fantastic experience: Breeanna has been my trainer for a couple years and she’s great to work with. She keeps me motivated and the workouts are fun, which makes me look forward to our next session together. I’ve met my goals of losing weight and getting stronger with her knowledge and guidance. She celebrates my achievements, big or small, and encourages me to keep working at it. I highly recommend Bree; she’s amazing.
Negative experience: Absolutely terrible service I canceled my membership and asked the staff if I had to do anything from my part and 2 people at the front desk said they could cancel it from their side and was still charged 3 times after and when I called to ask why they said I have to send an email so from I sent an email and have still been getting charged this place is ridiculous with untrained staff and managers and no one is helpful what so ever absolutely worst gym in the world
Negative experience: PLEASE RENOVATE THE WOMEN’S AREA! It looks dirty, disorganized, and is not aesthetically pleasing. It’s not worth paying $30 biweekly! Cheaper gyms are honestly better than this. So disappointing! I’M BEGGING YOU, PLEASEE!!! RENOVATE IT. MAKE THIS PART OF THE GYM WORTH WHAT WE’RE PAYING FOR.
Fantastic experience: Great place for workout . A very big gym but is comparatively busy during peak time . Well Kept equipment and clean facilities.
Negative experience: Joined the gym with their premium membership and guess what most of the time it’s either Sona is under maintenance or pool is under maintenance. On the top was given multiple different answers to the reason for this. Many times in the past had experience like that but nobody delivers the message to the operations. I was told that there is no point of talking to the manager or the owner. It actually feels like no one cares what their clients are suffering, specially this country hills location. Had to put in review in a hope to get a response

Negative experience: Be very weary cautious of the Personal Training contracts. The manager (Joel) did not print out the contract for reviews and was not sincere in letting me and my brother know that that any and all commitments are for 1 year. We were deceived into believing we were having a 1-month personal trainer trial contract only to be forced to pay out on a one year plan. There is absolutely no communication pathway to reach their parent organization (ABC Fitness) for an escalation so you're left at the mercy of the same manager. Plus even after a renegotiation and new contracts, the manger did not cancel the first contract and my CC got debited with over $1000 in 1 day based on the old contract. Other than that, they have good equipment and very friendly front desk staff that are unable to help with anything else besides member clock-in. PS: The only positive is the personal trainer, Breane, who is very professional in her duties.

Negative experience: I am very disappointed in this gym and the way they treat their staff. They seem to care more about money than they do their staff or members. This facility has so much potential, but they simply do not care about the people working for them or the members. I’m not one to normally write negative reviews but it’s disappointing to say the least, as I’ve been going to gyms for 10 years and never seen a gym treat their staff so poorly. I do not recommend this gym.

Positive experience: [UPDATED] I've been a member of this gym for four years, and I previously wrote a review about two years ago highlighting significant hygiene issues. At that time, the equipment was quite filthy, and users had to wash their hands extensively after using it. However, I am pleased to report a remarkable transformation in the hygiene standards of the gym. Over the past two years, there has been a significant improvement in cleanliness. The equipment is now much cleaner, and the overall environment feels more hygienic. Additionally, the gym has added more equipment, which has enhanced the variety of workouts available. I was recently approached by a staff member named Philip, who encouraged me to write an updated review. I mentioned my previous concerns, and he was very receptive and appreciative of the feedback. This demonstrates the gym's commitment to continuous improvement and customer satisfaction. The layout of the gym has also improved, with equipment now more strategically placed, making it easier to navigate and find what you need. The staff and customer support have become more attentive and supportive, which adds to the positive atmosphere of the gym. That said, I want to emphasize that this gym is not perfect and there is still room for improvement. While the progress made is commendable, there are always opportunities to further enhance the experience for members. Continuous efforts in maintaining cleanliness, updating equipment, and improving customer service are crucial. I genuinely appreciate the steps the gym has taken to address past issues and their willingness to seek feedback from members. Overall, I am very satisfied with the progress and improvements made, but I encourage the gym to keep striving for excellence. [PREVIOUS] The staff here is friendly and somewhat responsive. The staff members are also willing to hear out the complaints which is a nice add. I have never had a problem with staff or customer service which is why I am giving some stars to begin with. As stated in prior reviews, this gym’s management is very money oriented and they’re best interest is clearly making as much money as possible. You can tell. From there extremely long wait times to ask to even cancel to the extremely unresponsive emails for canceling, you’re going to have a hard time dealing with any sort of cancellation related matter. Aside from that, I would like to emphasize in this review about the quality of hygiene and cleanliness of this facility. Ladies and gentlemen, this gym is filthy. Absolutely filthy. If you want to pick up some plates or equipment, I can promise you that your hands are going to be filled with dirt and grime not even after finishing your first workout - you can even just look at the plates and see streaks of built-up dirt over the years. Although they encourage there members to clean up after themselves, they hardly enforce any sort of cleanliness themselves. And it really shows. I (like many others) have been trapped in one of their classic contracts. You can rest assure that once my contract finishes, I will be looking for other, much cleaner, gyms. I would like to say one last thing before I finish, the culture at golds is definitely unmatched. Everyone in the staff is friendly and they truly want you to achieve your fitness goals! They’re caring and helpful. Thats why this is 3 stars and not 2. If you don’t care about getting your hands dirty (literally) and getting busy, this is for you. Otherwise, don’t come here!

I would specially like to thank Breeanna as she helped me to overcome PCOD, thyroid and muscle loss last year. Her training is very well planned and professional when it comes to training according to ones need. I would highly recommend her if you are looking for guidance.

Positive experience: This is a huge gym with tons of equipment - I like the variety especially some of the specialized ones that cater to helping me recover from past injuries. Cardio equipment could use some updating and TLC but everything else is in decent shape. I usually go later at night, the overnight staff is super helpful and friendly (Komal, Manvir & Daman).
