Fantastic experience: I live in the area and train here frequently. The gym is always really clean, organized (no weights laying around) and I rarely have to wait for equipment because they have so many options. I want to specifically praise the staff, they are super friendly and very helpful (shout out to the staff member who literally helped me take apart a stair climber to retrieve my air pod that fell into it).

They made assumptions without taking the time to hear both sides of the story, showing a complete lack of professionalism. Negative experience: No I am never joining this gym I wasn't happy with my overall visit I went there to support a friend at her Zumba class. Don’t get me wrong the class was great. My issue is with the front staff who lacks professionalism and interpersonal skills that the admin should have. Remember, these people should be the face of the company. That day, I tried to get there early but got in the class late because I was held up by these 2 unfriendly rude admin staffs. I was a drop in and my friend already paid for me but I had to stay a while to give so much information ie filled out the form, was asked to provide drivers license and my photo was also taken. After giving them my drivers license with my current address, they still have to ask for my address and other questions which already in the form and my drivers license. It was just too much just to go for one day/one hour class. It Would have been ok if the front staffs were not rude and provided information like “we take these data because….” Front end Experience was horrendous. And if before I was thinking of joining this gym, then that quickly changed after that short experience with these ladies A HUGE NO and I do not recommend to go near this facility. I'll stay with my other 2 gyms vivo and edgemont club. They are all friendly, courteous and patient, and processional, totally opposite of what I was welcomed with. Front staffs need better training and need a better interpersonal skills . Funny how next day… surprise!surprise! I was of course got a text to join their gym so I expressed my experience but she replied with no accountability at all. She even said that she was one the two who was there at the front. Well no wonder she’s biased. Instead of apologizing or saying positives, she just dismissed what I said and basically they have to do it for safety. No professionalism at all. Lacking leadership skills. Just one more thing that I giggled here about was… she said that professional ring of criminals targeting gyms in Alberta. Ok sure. Tell me what the crime they did at your facility. Paid an expensive drop in fee and work out? lol Sure for safety, but We all know you took peoples info as well in order to contact them to join your gym and get membership . Really? People are not stupid
Fantastic experience: I work with Enoch on a weekly basis and im very glad i decided to join! Enoch has a background in physiotherapy which is perfect for me as i have an old injury that requires me to modify my workouts. The entire staff is amazing! I've never had anything but positive vibes, great workouts and great communication. They are very dedicated to helping people achieve their goals in whatever capacity that looks like for each individual. I'm very glad that I decided to change! Thank you, Jesse and Enoch!
Negative experience: The worst experience at this Gym, from the front desk to magement. Stacey is very bias and did not support any of the concerns or handle any of them in fact her approach with ultimatums did not resolve anything and not only that I hear from other members the staff turn over the years has been a on going thing which I can see why, they say they are a "tight knit community" but lack perfessional communication from the get go I was never told, no drop ins were allowed but yet they accept on conditions that we sign up with a membership - which they harass you to sign. I am not pleased with this location nor will recommend it to anyone especially when they have passive aggressive staff.

Fantastic experience: I have been using gmvt for about 3 years now and I was travelling back and forth to my hometown for months on end. Through out the process Aleeya was super helpful in pausing my membership until I returned. Aleeya also made cancelling my membership quick and easy without any confusion on what was going to happen with my payments etc. I would recommend Aleeya for any assistance at North Hill GMVT.

Honestly such a friendly face, amazing for the gym where I’ve had some bad encounters with rude employees at other places
Fantastic experience: Risky to post this review because I wouldn’t want this place to get too popular haha but it’s such a great space to work out! The gym is fully equipped, and the machines are well-kept. If something does break, it’s usually repaired within a few business days (based on my observations). The entire facility is always clean, and there are plenty of amenities, including a steam room! Sunday playlists are pretty solid. I’ve even added a few of their songs to my personal playlist. The staff is helpful and responds promptly to inquiries. I’ve been to several gyms, and this one doesn’t get crowded at all during peak hours; I rarely have to wait more than five minutes for a machine, if at all. The members are generally respectful, creating good energy all around. My only wish is that they stayed open until at least 8 p.m. on the weekends. I sometimes get busy on weekends and end up rushing my afternoon workouts. Otherwise, I highly recommend this gym!

Negative experience: High pressure sales to make you take sessions with personal trainer.Terrible! The gym is darrk, no windows and as you going down the stairs, it smells.
Negative experience: I rarely write reviews but it seems others share my experience so this is a warning for others to read the fine print before signing anything, as the manager was absolutely firm on their no refund policy. After enjoying great fitness classes for several months, I asked to put a hold on payments as I would be away. The front desk staff was not certain on how to handle this. They asked me to digitally sign the agreement but I was verbally told that it lasted up to six months and if I did not return to the fitness club then payment would not resume. I recall asking for a printed document but they don’t have a printer, only check your e-mail later. This was my fault that I trusted their verbal response and signed away. I decided not to return as the location is somewhat far for me. Seven months later I saw that a pre-authorized payment was put through for the month without any warning from Gymvmt. I returned to the club asking about this. They said I would need to sign another contract to terminate. Again, they asked for a digital signature first without being able to see the contract! A printer would be a good investment. I asked to speak to the manager Jesse. There was no good will as he said I should read the document (which they don’t provide before you sign), firmly no refunds, nor would he cancel the next payment due to requirement for 30 days notice. As someone else commented, this is an attempt to deceive. Please be cautious.
Negative experience: Please be cautious of this company. This was my experience and management hid behind corporate policy in order to enact bad faith business. I signed up for a trial for 7 days but instead they entered me into a 12 month agreement (Which I wasn't aware of). There was definitely an intent to deceive because the guy who signed me up, Brandon, said he would upgrade me to a 14 day trial. They also had me sign for it which was my fault for not reading the fine print which they didnt let me read. I returned the next day saying if this was legitimate and I'm in a trial period, why am I being charged? Management said it was an oversight. I then said, so can I get refunded? They said nope, company policy no refunds at any time. Look, they may come up with excuses but the resolution is "We to keep your money even if services are not offered." There is no good will there and I would of continued if they put me back on trial as they should of. I also had to be present and ask them to remove my credit card/banking details which they said their system couldn't remove, really? I then demanded they change all my information to zeros because that's how uncomfortable I felt.
Positive experience: I love the gym how they have the BEST classes with Jumana she plays bomb music and hypes everyone up! Her classes are by FAR the best and more fun than any boutique fitness club I have been to 10/10! The management there is always super friendly and available to help when needed. Jesse and ELI so nice and friendly make it very welcoming!!! It’s nice how they have a steam room and sauna also! I think an area of improvement would be the towel service. I don’t think this should be an extra charge. I would say include this in the membership! Other than that 1 thing I highly recommend GYMVMT to all my friends and family and will continue to enjoy this amazing gym!
Positive experience: A clean well-lit and spacious gym. It is located in the basement of the mall so there is no natural light but the mirrors really open up the space. The change room is clean and not malodorous. I wish the times it was open were longer on the weekends but weekday hours are great.

Fantastic experience: As someone who recently started their fitness journey, I was initially intimidated by gyms. GYMVMT completely changed that for me. The facility is always clean, and the positive culture here stands out – members actually encourage each other, and you won't find people filming content for social media. The staff is genuinely friendly and welcoming. Shout out to my personal trainer Josh, who helped me build both confidence and strength. If you're hesitant about starting your fitness journey, this is the perfect place to begin. ⭐⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Negative experience: The worst gym I was member in. I won't tell you about busy hours when you have to be like 3rs or 4th in the line to use equipment, I believe each gym has this issues. I will tell you how they scam you each step, they make you feel like you are not customer there, like you are obligated them. So when I signed contract in October last year, I informed gym representative, that I will travel in the end of January for 3 weeks, would it be possible to freeze my membership, the answer was "of course no problem". When I came to do it, I was informed that rules changed and I still have to pay even I'll be outside of country. The nutritionist session which they offer absolutely useless, and you have to get for it to another gym in downtown. Once I sent email to customer support (maybe in the spring this year), still waiting the answer. The last thing, which blown my mind, that they charged me annual fee after I told them that I canceled my membership. Guys I understand you have auto pay, but you also should have common sense for it. So, I highly would not recommend this gym for anyone.

Negative experience: Dont fall for these fake reviews. This gym is extremely busy at most times. Even the lady at reception said “the only time it’s not busy is at 6am” when we were cancelling our membership. The smell is rancid in the actual gym and worse in the change rooms. I reached out to management to let them know it’s hard to work out when it smells so badly and I did not see any improvements. To be fair to them it’s in a stinky, dingy basement of a mall. Also the equipment needs a revamp for sure… many treadmills/stairclimbers out of order, ripped benches, old and rusted equipment. Super disappointed that we signed onto a 1 year gym membership and spent so much money at this location :/

Fantastic experience: I’m very happy with my experience at this gym! I was surprised by how young the staff is, they’re all very friendly and easy to talk to. In my experience, the gym culture is warm and the regulars are helpful. I had been out of my gym routine for a couple years and eating out often so I decided to sign up with a personal trainer and nutritionist for a few months to get my goals back on track. Eli Voykin was my personal trainer and he was exceptional to work with. Most of my life I had kept fit by working out with the boys semi-casually. Eli’s knowledge and focus on tailoring my workout’s to the goals I had set really helped me optimize my recomposition period and take my form to the next level to make sure I get solid hypertrophy with my gym time. He’s also just a really nice dude and cares about people. Matt Rohe was my nutritionist and was essential to helping me transform my diet and eating habits. To be honest, at first I was a little embarrassed to use a nutritionist. We all think we know the basics about eating: 1) if you have more calories than you use, gain weight 2) eat 1g of protein for every pound of weight daily. It’s not that simple! Personally, I struggle maintaining my appetite for bulking and making sure I eat enough protein. Matt was great at finding ways to tweak my grocery list and pace my eating habits. He taught me a lot about protein synthesis and improving lifestyle changes to lower my stress levels and sleep better. It was really useful to have weekly check-ins to transition from the discipline to motivation stages. Now I have more energy, my mood is lighter, and I have gained 15 pounds in 4 months on a clean bulk while looking slimmer and more muscular. Peak hours can be crazy busy at times, but it makes sense why this gym is so popular. Just make sure to have alternative work outs in your back pocket to hit those same muscle groups and you won’t have any issues!
Fantastic experience: I am so thankful for GYMVT and Marcel. I would 100% recommend Marcel as a personal trainer, well worth the money. I was so scared of the gym a year ago but needed to go to decrease my diabetes risk factors. If it wasnt for Marcel i know I would have stopped going. Marcel is so patient and upbeat it immediately eased my anxiety around the mean gym bro fear. He patiently walked me through excersies and always respected when I said I was done and checked in if I was feeling any pain. He would text and make sure I was coming in and push me little by little each session. He has so much knowledge and shares it with me every session! He always respected my personal space, which as a woman in the gym matters alot to me. Slowly my anxiety faded and now I look forward to my sessions. My most recent lab work my risk for diabetes is MUCH lower. Something that I 100% contribute to the gym, and Marcel keeping me accountable. Now I look forward to the gym and i feel better every day and am healthier in so many ways i didnt expect. So thankful for GYMVTs awesome welcoming culture and Marcel for bettering my life!

Fantastic experience: Great experience a north hill. I initially visited the Calgary place location and received some of the worst customer service in regards to a trial pass. I called North hill location afterwards and immediately felt welcomed, the person on the phone was friendly and helpful. Adam helped set up my trial, super efficient! I signed up for a membership not long after the trial ended and have been going frequently for about a month now.
Negative experience: The worst gym ive ever been to! Not talking about the staff! They’re super friendly and helpful! But it’s like a trap once you sign that contract it’s basically impossible to get out! And every possible move you want to take they will make you pay! I don’t recommend at all

What impressed me the most was Wari—He informed me of all the cancellation policies and thoroughly explained the fees. Wari was also very polite and even reminded me to enter through Gate 2 at 5 AM.

Negative experience: This gym is a scam. First of all, the cleanliness of the bathrooms and locker rooms is disastrous, the smell is unbearable. On the other hand, they say they’ll charge you a certain amount, but they end up charging more than what was agreed upon. They literally rob people with false payment information. A disaster.

Negative experience: Potential customers, please exercise caution with this gym. Their cancellation policies are unreliable. It’s a scam. Ensure you document any verbal agreements made with sale representatives. I canceled membership within the specified timeframe and was still charged. Customer service is terrible. I would not recommend this gym.

The facilities are modern, well-equipped, and maintained to the highest standards, creating a welcoming and motivating environment for all members. The variety of classes and training options ensures that there's something for everyone, no matter your fitness level or goals. A significant part of my positive experience at GMYMVT is due to my incredible trainer, Marcel.
Negative experience: Filthy place, you can smell it from the mall. Its super busy and packed with ppl all the time. Will not be able to find any machine.
Negative experience: I used to like this gym until I find out that all of their salesman are scammers and lie about the contract you are signing, they say it’s 75$ to cancel in reality it’s over 150$ to cancel and they lie by not showing the fine prints of the contract after convincing you they are not like other gyms, I know this because I am a sales manger at a well known firm, I told them my earlier my pain points with other gyms but they used that to manipulate me after reassuring me that it’s not going to be the same experience, good thing I am a well known figure in the sales industry of Calgary and I have all of your employees names and as well as the scummy manger and make sure you don’t get more business from the city’s finest sales people and figures. You know who you are sitting in the big glass office lying to thousands, I hope you can sleep at night. You will be seeing me later to sign papers of cancellation. I wish I was joking cause I gave you a 5 star before and I am not going to be held accountable and responsible for you team being scummy and by name it’s goes James, Hani and if not mistaken the mixed Asian male named alex or something along those lines. These are the employees that have lied to multiple of my friends after referrals given by me, it’s disappointing that I have to write this. You give salesmen the rep that we have and it’s sad cause I help families and businesses succeed while you pray on people’s bank accounts with all the little micro transactions that are in the fine print, people who are dealing with self Esteem and confidence issues coming to a place to fit in but here you are being the scums of the earth. This is not even the surface of the iceberg, don’t even get me started on the process of trying freeze my account then being lied to about to just end up with collections bill that your team made no effort in reaching out to me, no emails, no mail, no call but one call from cgi credit after being under the impression that my account was frozen for period of time. I don’t want or expect any response or apology, this is what call a penalty or I guess a consequence. Avoid this gym and the salesman inside that I mentioned, please notice that gym itself as a gym is good but for an environment to be good it has to be built on trust and clearly you don’t know what that means as a team and company, we trust you when we go in there cause it’s a vulnerable space for us, a place where we are facing the darkest and deepest of insecurities, sure some are there for fitness, but we know why we all go there and for it to be predatory pushes people from wanting to be fit or even going to another gym as now they associate with this, for myself now I am going to work towards a home gym because you don’t need no scummy contract to just get fit and be healthy.
Negative experience: I do not recommend getting a membership in this gym. All rules work against you. For everything, they charge you money, e.g. membership freeze costs $50. Now I canceled the membership, but before that I asked if I had paid everything. In an email, the manager confirmed that yes, also when signing canceling the contract. Despite this, they are withdrawing additional money without authorization from me. I found on google that there are more clients with a similar case as mine. Be careful. If anyone is reading this and has a similar case as me and wants or has already started to deal with it through a lawyer / authorities / police, please contact me.
Negative experience: I started with gymvmt through a friend. They had a promotion thing where if you sign up, your friends get a two week free trail. That is how I got my two week free trail before I could join their 1 year training program. Firstly, there were conditions that were not made explicit by my consultant. Nevertheless, when signing on the first day of my free trail, I confirmed more than 5 times that I have two weeks before I can confirm whether or not I want join, and the consultant assured me that was the case. My other friend had also joined the same way and had the same perception. After a week (on Saturday, 20th July 2024), I wanted to cancel my free trial so I called the receptionist. She told me "I can not cancel" and that I will be charged for a year (but the free trial period was still valid). Then the receptionist told me to come in person. At this point, I was worried i will be charged $650 for services I had not utilized. I was frazzled as I am an international student, I live on a tight budget. When I started I made this clear that I would have to figure stuff out coz it is a big cost for me and I was assured multiple time that I had 2 weeks for that very reason. Within 5 minutes, the receptionist calls me back and informs me that she talked to the manger, and since I am on the two week free trail I can cancel with no fees, she told me I would have to be there is person to sign the cancellation form. I go in-person, just for them her to tell me I will be charged for two bills ($200) but I can still cancel. She went back on her words. I asked if I could speak to the manager and she told me "you can't because our manager is not in", which was understandable, so I confront her, that it is not fair to frazzle customers like that and would rather that she will get back to me with confirmed information, than that telling me things she is not sure about. I told her I appreciate clarity. Then she unprofessionally (in a very rude tone) proceeds to tell me "I know what I am talking about". immediately after saying my manager just gave the green light and you can actually cancel without a charge. She seemed to be assuming information and constantly changing her statements after "speaking to the manager", she was completely unprofessional and rude. It might not be a big deal for some, but for me that means I have to figure out costs that were not supposed to be there. I was promised something but then given something else. Even during my first consultation, I was given a list of benefits of why i should join and all the things that will go bad if i don't join, but I wasn't given clarity about terms and conditions. I had to keep asking because the answers I was given were not convincing enough. I prefer honesty and professionalism, that is what customer service is to me. The emotions I went through today were ridiculous and sincerely hope no else has to experience the same. I was even considering joining them after two months because their training plan is nice and my friends talk amazing things about their fitness trainers, but this experience was not nice and completely threw me off. I don't think I can recommend this gym to anyone due to their lack of professionality of dealing with customers and their lack of clarity in their consultations regarding their fees. I am still scared I will be charged because of how confused and unbothered the receptionist was. I hope they integrate professionality in the way they deal with customers from now on.
Negative experience: Today my friend had a really horrible experience at this North Hill location. I recommended her for the free fitness consultation session, because I personally really enjoyed my first personal training session with Marcel. However, in her consultation with a employee there, there was a lack of clarity regarding the financial fees. She had asked them multiple times weather she could cancel during the free trial and the fitness consultant has confirmed this. From my own experience, there was definitely a lack of clarity regarding all the fees, even within the written contract. I had also been told I could cancel anytime within my free trial. However, this morning when she called to cancel her free trial, the lady at the reception (at 12:30pm, 7/20/2024), she said to my friend that she signed a year long contract and she couldn't cancel it, although she was still in the free trial period WHERE SHE WAS FREE TO CANCEL IT WHENEVER SHE WISHED TO. after 10 minutes she returned the call saying her manager said they will cancel the free trial, but she would have to go to the gym to sign a cancellation contract. So my friend and I both went to the gym, where when my friend asked her she said yes it will be cancelled by you will get charged for two cycles, at which we asked to speak to the manager. Immediately she changed her statement to "oh I just got the clear light from my assistant manager saying you won't be charged and she will personally cancel the account". My friend then just asked that they be clear and honest and know what they're talking about before they frazzle their customers. The lady rudely replied "I know what I'm talking about". This behavior has to be unacceptable as customer service. If you don't know how to treat your customers I don't think you should try to get them. I even feel embarrassed for recommending the Gym to anyone now. If you can get help from the personal trainers out of the gym that would be best! The stars are literally only because I appreciate Marcel!
Negative experience: Extremely rude receptionist, with an intent to scam customers. My friends recommended my sister and I to this place for a promotional period with 2 free personal training sessions followed by a financed contract. I realized their money leeching tactic and did not go to the so called free sessions. However, my sister ended up going and had the worst experience ever. After her two free sessions, she decided to not go with it since she already gets free membership with the university. When calling the reception, the lady on the phone clearly denied cancelling the membership and said that you're in a one year contract which was throwing off when my sister clearly asked 3 to 4 times about the contract on her first day. The receptionist then asks to meet in person. After going in person, the rudest service was experienced and she asked for $200 to be paid for the so called free sessions. The GYMVMT staff clearly have no respect for their customers and the sales guys are clearly trying to trap you as you can see with other reviews on here. Personal trainers are a gem since they are not GYMVMT employees. However, the lady at the reception needs an attitude check and most likely an orientation of what she is talking about. Sincerely, A frustrated customer like many others.
