Negative experience: Your gym is an absolute disaster, and I give it 1 star—if negative stars were possible, I’d choose that. This is by far the worst gym I’ve ever experienced, and I’m furious about how I was treated. The staff are incredibly rude, acting like members are a burden. Managers, like Jasmine and others, are completely useless, refusing to help or listen to complaints. They just shove a contract in your face and dismiss you like you don’t matter. I was forced to pay nearly $500 for no reason, which feels like outright theft. When I tried to explain my side, they wouldn’t even try to understand, showing zero care for members. This gym is a total scam, prioritizing money over people. It’s filthy, poorly managed, and a complete waste of time. I joined hoping for a welcoming place to work out, but instead, I got stress, anger, and a huge bill. This place is a nightmare that no one should endure. Management, you should be ashamed of running such a terrible, money-grabbing operation. I strongly warn everyone to stay far away from this awful gym.

Negative experience: Horrible customer service. I moved provinces so I cancelled my membership. I was told this wasn’t a problem. I then realized after a few months I was still being charged. I called again and they told me I needed to pay a cancellation fee. The girl I originally spoke with purposely scammed me into thinking my membership was cancelled. I then payed to have my gym membership cancelled. A few months later, I realized they RENEWED my membership even though I payed the cancellation fee. Don’t give them your money. Scammers. You will never be able to quit this horribly un-kept gym.

Negative experience: Been a member now for over year. I wouldn’t suggest it to anyone, men’s change rooms are trash, showers don’t let you choose the temperature of the water( if they even have hot water which isn’t often) sauna breaks and doesn’t get repaired for 3+ months,if you go in the morning be prepared to wait an hour or so with other members for it to open. And to top it off if you plan to shower don’t the amount of times they make the showers unavailable without updating members is crazy .. people go in the morning before work and expect to shower after and they consistently have stopped the use of showers for “repairs” if I could give them a negative stars I would. Spend the extra 20-30$ and go to any other gym near by .. again absolute trash gym

Negative experience: 5:50am no staff showed up to open the gym and no hot water for past 2 weeks. staff clearly don’t care about members time. memberships are cheap for a reason be aware

Positive experience: Been waiting for the sauna to reopen for what seems like 6 months absolutely terrible service they never fix stuff. This establishment should be ashamed to even be open in this state. Edit: owner has responded and is working on problem, do you have a timeline I really enjoy this gym but a sauna is a must for me!

Negative experience: waited an hour for the gym to be opened this morning.. the girl that opened it casually walked in with no explanation or anything. More then 20 members were waiting at the doors at 5:30 and ended up leaving. Should hire someone who actually cares about punctuality especially for some of us who workout before work. Unacceptable behaviour/ also water pressure for shower is super low with super cold water for past 2 weeks

Negative experience: sauna been down for over 2 months no update on when it will be fixed

Negative experience: The sauna has been broken for two months already. I am Thinking to Cancel and move out.

Negative experience: I cancelled my membership in Feb 2022 and they have been charging $46/month since that month. They have acknowledged that I have not used the service since that date and they refuse to provide a refund. I was on month to month with no contract and they are claiming they cannot refund because no admin form was filled out. Very frustrating and not very honest.

Negative experience: I canceled my membership back in 2021 and since then they have been charging me $6.29 a WEEK. I’ve called many times and never anyone can help me. I live in Ontario now and can not go in person to cancel.

Negative experience: Refuses to process a cancellation. Front desk staff just tells you to email, emails go unreturned. Zero "management" of facility.

Negative experience: One of the WORST unprofessional mismanaged gyms out there. Not only does the gym close 4pm on weekends, the staff will call security to ESCORT you if you do not make it 30 minutes BEFORE closing time. The staff on duty was not able to show me this "rule" anywhere and kept on saying that he does not have time for this as he has other things to do. I think that as a paying member of the gym this rule has to be written somewhere around the gym or in our contract to which the staff said that this is just the rule and he called security to escort me out.

Negative experience: I have been going here for a few months and I’m a VIP Plus member meaning I have access to the downstairs area (lifting platforms and CrossFit-like equipment and rig). I’m pretty disappointed at the price we pay that management is being very neglectful of maintaining the space. My biggest grievance is the chalk (which is essential for any successful technical lifts) has not been replaced for several months! Further, the damaged lifting platform has not been repaired for as long as I’ve been here. Despite leaving a detailed email, nothing has been done. It is quite frustrating.

Negative experience: Management has gotten lazy. The cable machine has been out of order for 2 months. A simple fix and they can’t be bothered to deal with it.

Negative experience: Not even one star is worth it. It was a 12 o'clock class, so I arrived at 11:45 and waited for a coach. The class wasn't ready until after 12 o'clock, so I asked what the problem was going on. They just told me to keep waiting and no action. After that, I went to the front desk again and they finally called a coach. It was already 12:10, 10 minutes later than original time. When I asked a coach why you were late, he said he didn't know somebody was there, I already let informed we arrived. Coach and the person at the front desk not only avoided each other's responsibility, but also responded as if it was no big deal. I think if they feel a customers are bothered, they shouldn't receive it. Time was wasted and there was no proper follow-up action. It's the worst experience

Fantastic experience: Right downtown, easy to find, this gym is very well equipped and clean. They also have a Olympic lifting/crossfit area, separately. Very quite, respectful environment.

Fantastic experience: Well I was there for a very short time since I was traveling but it's a really nice gym. I'm a world's gym member of Quebec so it was nice to use this gym. Friendly staff and very great equipment. Love the idea of using rags instead of paper towels to clean the equipment. The only downside was that during my time there the sauna was out of order but other than that everything was fine. Definitely would go back when I travel again to Alberta

Fantastic experience: It's a simple but well equipped, affordable gym that I haven't experienced being too busy at any time. I don't care about fancy amenities that I usually pay for but don't end up using. They have a 10 session pass for $100 which is great if your visiting. I witnessed it getting cleaned and sanitized frequently!

Fantastic experience: I switched over to this gym after being a good life member for 5 years . It’s clean and never to crowded the times I go . Front desk girl Ashley is very sweet and helpful. My only complaint is the trainers I have told them numerous times I have a coach/trainer already but still bug me to do a fitness Consultation I have said millions of times I’m not Interested . One of the reasons I left GoodLife was being bullied by trainers and management to get me to sign up for personal training when I already have one. Other then that great gym .

Fantastic experience: I switched to this gym from GoodLife. I really enjoy it here. Less busy and they still have most of the regular machines you need. Good free weight section. Friendly staff. Love my new gym

Fantastic experience: Recently transferred to this gym and man all I can say is it is outstanding, from the new equipment to the really friendly and personable front desk staff that will always make you feel welcome. Unreal pricing with all the amenities that you get. 10/10 would recommend to anyone that lives/works in the downtown area

Fantastic experience: Signed up this week online without having to go in and talk to anyone about "My Goals". Membership rates clearly posted on the website, another huge plus. The club and equipment is new and it's not super busy at 7:15am when I arrive. Any staff I have dealt with have been excellent. Club is spotless clean.

Fantastic experience: This is a great facility - I signed up here instead of GoodLife because they have an awesome weight lifting area and their equipment is top notch. Took one their Foundations classes this morning the athletics coach (certified) was approachable, encouraging and helpful, and she provided an excellent introduction into proper form for weightlifting. Membership prices are competitive and affordable.

Fantastic experience: This gym is hands down the best gym in the downtown area! Everything is brand new and so clean. They have Hot Yoga, Spin & Classes with your very own coach for only $20 a week. You can’t beat it! Would highly recommend.

I love the layout of the gym the people working here are always super friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend for anyone who is looking to switch gyms in the downtown area.

Fantastic experience: Just signed up to this gym and i can't be more excited. I had one of the managers (Morgan) assist me and she did an over the top job. She was easy going, nice to talk to and helped me with all my questions i had about the facility. Not only was she nice, but experience in the fitness industry as well. Asking me which machines i was looking for and showing me some i have never seen before. Thanks again Morgan and i will be seeing you around! :)

Fantastic experience: Worth the switch from Bankers Hall Club (for me). Read further if you are considering switching yourself. My conclusion is world gym is 25% worse than bankers, but 66% cheaper therefore it is worth the move for me…. BUT if you like to do classes then you might as well stay at Bankers because the membership with classes and towel service at World is only 20% cheaper ($20 a week + $5 towel service) and it’s is just not as good of a gym. I’m on the most basic membership for $5 a week but I added the towel service for an additional $5 a week. World Gym: • NO TEMP ADJUST ON SHOWERS. It’s like the old school gym locker room push button shower with no temp control. This is the worst part of the gym I would say. It’s also on kind of a lukewarm setting right now. • Only plain old soap is available in locker room sinks and showers, no other products • Equipment is all brand new, but it’s a bit cheaper quality than Bankers • More equipment selection and tons of cardio equipment • Water fountain is at far end of gym near change rooms instead of central • No small towels for out on the gym floor • If you get higher tier memberships you get free tanning and hydro massage. Tanning part is really strange to me, how is this healthy? • Not at all busy during lunch, but maybe just because it is new? • Music is pretty loud and aggressive, sometimes it’s hard to drown out with my headphones depending where I am in the gym. • Sauna instead of steam room • No laundry service • No squash Overall I can get pretty much the same workouts in at World Gym as I can at Bankers Hall club, so the significantly cheaper price makes it totally worth it. Fantastic experience: Signing up with World Gym +15 was one of the best things I have ever done, clean, not crowded, unreal pricing and very friendly staff! Minoo my personal trainer helped me achieve my goals so far and I love our sessions! What I really like about her is that she knows how to motivate me, she makes each of my training sessions challenging but rewarding. I would have no hesitation in recommending her as your personal trainer if you want to achieve your fitness and health goals.
