Negative experience: Another Goodlife location that does not supply towels even though they charge for it in our bi weekly subscription payment. 75% of the TVs were on football and the rest on the GoodLife marketing station so I asked the attendant if he could switch one to another station but he said no. To the manager, you are in the service industry so if you want to be in that line of work you should start by showing your agent how to change a tv station instead of playing on there phones. Not impressed with this location.

Positive experience: I just joined. Candice is amazing, very friendly. I had a sample run at gym. It's relatively clean. Soap was missing in shower. The one thing that almost didn't make me join is that this gym has no towels service. They need to get it. If I leave this will be one of main reasons. Parking is also a problem here depending on when you come. Will be starting on October. I will see.

Fantastic experience: Went today for the first time and had an amazing experience! The facility is really nice with lots of different equipment. I tried the spin class and was greeted warmly by the staff, which made me feel really welcome and included as a newcomer. I’ll definitely be joining the spin class regularly from now on. The only small downside was that I didn’t receive a gym bag when signing up—I thought that was a pretty standard part of joining.

Fantastic experience: This is a great gym. The best in the city in my opinion. Lots of equipment with a focus on weights, but still plenty of cardio for people who like that. Love the separate women's area. Can get busy during rush hour, but you can still get a good workout in if you're okay with switching up your routine if the machine you need isn't free. I've got my membership on hold right now, because the location isn't very convenient for me. Would love to see a Good Life in the North end. I tried the competition located in North and South end, but it wasn't the same. Joined a cheap gym for now to get workouts in closer to home, but it sucks that I can't get to Good Life. I really don't want to cancel, but paying for multiple memberships doesn't make sense long term:(

Positive experience: This is an amazing gym and it’s probably my favourite out of all the GoodLifes I’ve been to. The staff, equipment and general vibe are amazing! The only thing they are missing is TOWEL SERVICE! I pay for this premium so it’s strange not to have it in one of the largest GoodLife gyms with about 27,000 square feet. They give out small hand towels, but we need body towels for the showers and saunas, please. If this gym had towel service, I would change this review to 5 stars. Thanks!

Fantastic experience: Just wanted to write that it was a delight to hit up this gym. We’re in town for an event and needed to squeeze in our workout tonight. Fully expected to head in there and pay for our day passes but the lovely Candice helped set us up for a free pass tonight….much appreciated. She was patient, super personable and approachable, funny, and made the whole process of getting checked in seamless and enjoyable. We really appreciated the exceptional customer service! Also, the gym had everything we needed for weights and cardio - lots of free weights, racks, barbells, benches, machines, and cardio options. Nice clean modern facility. Will def go back again!

Negative experience: The worst location of goodlife. The guy at front desk is rude and giving alot of problems. Never going to this location again. I hope there will be some kind of solution regarding staff and gym itself. I have been to other locations and they are perfectly fine. There is something wrpmg with this location and i hope.they change their front desk as they are rude and doesnt knkw what they are doing.

Fantastic experience: Goodlife Fitness is easily the best gym in Barrie. My experience over the past year has been wonderful. The facility is always clean, well-kept and modern. I always have a variety of equipment to choose from regardless of the time of day. It's enabled me to go above and beyond my personal fitness goals. The staff is easily the best part of this gym. Absolutely everyone who works here is wonderful and knowledgeable in this industry. They have always been there to provide support and advice to ensure my workouts are continuously challenging and help me hit new goals. The other wonderful thing about joining Goodlife is the people. I've met some incredible friends and made connections that I cherish and hold dear. It has become a place where I feel included and accepted. If you're ever wondering about this gym, I can happily recommend it. The support and guidance from everyone is one of a kind and a great place to get in shape!

Negative experience: I’ve been a member of GoodLife Fitness for some time and generally appreciate the facilities and classes. However, I recently had a deeply disappointing and unacceptable experience with one of the elderly front desk staff members that needs to be addressed. As a person of color, I felt I was treated differently and unfairly during my interactions with a specific front desk lady. Her tone, attitude, and unwillingness to offer the same level of courtesy and assistance that I saw extended to other (non-colored) members was disheartening. The dismissiveness and clear discomfort she showed when engaging with me made me feel unwelcome and judged. This is not only unprofessional but also reflects poorly on GoodLife’s values of inclusivity and respect. Every member deserves to be treated with dignity and equality, regardless of their background or skin color. I hope this matter is taken seriously by management. A gym should be a place of community and support for all. Staff training on diversity, equity, and inclusion is clearly needed, and I urge GoodLife to look into this specific individual’s behavior and take appropriate action.

Positive experience: Great gym, pretty clean but limited parking. Giving 3 stars because the class times are all before 5 which is unrealistic for people working. Would be much better if there were more classes after 5pm like yoga, pilates and body pump. Hope the times change in the future.

Positive experience: Lock up your belongings!!! My wife's first time at this location and her shoes were stolen from the change room!! They were a simple pair of Berkinstock slippers. People must be really desperate these days. We understand that it's not Goodlife's fault and that members are responsible for their belongings. This post is more of a reflection on the members who feel they can take whatever they want. Go buy your own damn shoes!!

Fantastic experience: Outstanding Personal Trainer and a Great Reminder of Why GoodLife Stands Out I’ve been a regular GoodLife fitness gym-goer for years, but recently felt like my progress had plateaued. That’s when I met Michael, a personal trainer at GoodLife Barrie. He approached me one day with a genuinely kind and welcoming energy, and offered a free fitness assessment. That short conversation turned into a real turning point for me. Michael helped me realize there’s so much more to proper health than I had considered. His knowledge, encouragement, and willingness to listen made a big difference, and reminded me why I originally chose GoodLife. I had been exploring other gyms in Barrie lately, but Michael reminded me that what makes GoodLife truly special is the people. Now, every time I walk into the gym, I look forward to seeing him and sharing my progress. He’s been incredibly supportive, and I can’t thank him enough for that. If you’re thinking about taking the next step in your fitness journey, I highly recommend asking for Michael. He’s the kind of trainer who truly cares. Big thanks as well to the rest of the staff for keeping the Barrie location running smoothly.

Negative experience: Please fix the equipment. Bicep curl machine has been broken for two months. Unacceptable.

Fantastic experience: I just finished 6 months of personal training with Karan and I can't say enough good things. He's super knowledgeable and always a great time to hang around with. He helped me reach and even exceed my goals, and was a lifesaver with my shoulder and back mobility issues. He really knows his stuff and he's constantly learning new things to benefit his clients. He's basically a personal trainer, physiotherapist, and chiropractor all in one. He's able to create great workouts that were challenging and fun, and was always introducing new exercises to keep things different. Anytime I went to him with a new issue regarding pain or mobility, we would do some rehab sessions and get me back to 100 percent. I also can't say enough good things about the rest of the staff at this location. I've never had any issues and everybody is so nice and welcoming.

Fantastic experience: Ex LA Fitness customer, switched to goodlife because who closes a gym at 8 PM on weekends. The flexibility in gym operation timing helps to stay on track of your fitness journey.

Positive experience: One of the better Barrie gyms to workout at. Not perfect but definitely better than places like LA fitness. Pros: Open 24/7 Super friendly staff and knowledgeable trainers. Relatively spacious workout areas for cardio, weight training & stretching. Classes they offer are good. They have a sauna that allows temp control and it actually works!!! For now anyways Women only section for the women that care about that. Cons: Borderline premium prices for a membership when they don't have most amenities that the other GoodLife locations have. Sauna doesn't have adequate draining or a drain at all. Liquid on the floor in there looks like a mix of garbage can juices and Venom from Spiderman. People walk in it with bare toes all the time lol Equipment cleanliness and maintenance is subpar Parking is pretty bad but is manageable unless you come at a bad time (4-9pm is the busiest) The mens locker room lockers and the space itself is too small. In conclusion, if you compare this gym to other Barrie gyms it does stand out as one of the better options especially as a 24/7 gym. GoodLife is the best gym in Barrie by far in that specific category.

Negative experience: I pay for access to all clubs and pay extra for towel service. This location tells me that they don’t offer towel service. Unacceptable in 2025. How am I supposed to shower and go to work?

Positive experience: This Goodlife became my main gym for about 8 months while I lived in Innisfil. This location by far has some of the best selection of equipment of any location. Huge variety of plate loaded machines, multiple smith machines, squat racks, deadlift platforms, cables, hack squats etc. This location remains undefeated for its variety of equipment and size. Even coming at 5-6pm, never had to wait long due to the variety of machines. Never seen another GoodLife with 4 chest fly machines. Staff are also friendly and the location is for the most part clean. The cons: unfortunately this location is held back by factors outside of staff control. The place itself (and specifically the change-rooms) are in desperate need of renovation and the lack of towel service is a huge disservice. Still my favourite GoodLife location all things considered. Will be the only thing I miss from Barrie.

Fantastic experience: I don’t visit this gym often since it’s a bit out of my way, but every time I do, I wish it were closer to home. Its location is incredibly convenient for those nearby—tucked just off a main road with ample parking, making it easy to pop in for a session. The gym gets busy, especially during peak evening hours, but it’s manageable; I’ve rarely waited more than a minute for a machine. The staff are a standout—warm, welcoming, and always ready to assist with a smile, which makes the atmosphere inviting. What really impresses me is the vast selection of equipment. From cutting-edge cardio machines to an extensive range of free weights and functional fitness gear, there’s something for every workout style, whether you’re into bodybuilding, CrossFit, or just staying active. The facility is clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully laid out, so it never feels chaotic despite the crowd. If this gym were closer, I’d be here all the time—it’s that good. For anyone in the area, it’s a fantastic spot to train.

Negative experience: Normally go to the Bradford location , and was shocked at the difference in condition of this place. The gym and staff itself are fine. However, the men’s change room was very dirty and unsanitary. Floors were absolutely filthy, garbage throughout. The sauna is disgusting (smell, dirty floors, mold, rotting wood behind the tiles). And the showers were the worst part. There is black mold on all of the shower curtains and throughout the ceiling of the entries shower area. I’m surprised it has not been shut down by the health unit.

A special shout-out to the managers, Steph and Alanna, and to Dorothy, whose warmth and positivity brighten every visit. I genuinely look forward to visiting this GoodLife whenever I'm in the area.

Negative experience: Gym itself is well equipped with great parking options. Equipment is reasonably maintained for a commercial high traffic gym. Where the negative lay is in the front desk staff (which seems to be the source of all negative reviews at this location) Wife and I are an interracial couple and the front desk staff immediately treated us horribly as a result. I've had zero incidents at GoodLife since becoming a member 15 years ago. We work out daily together at various locations in the GTA and take turns holding our baby in the seating area while the other works out. This has helped my postpartum wife get back into working out, and has done wonders for her self-image. After dealing with the visibly upset racist woman who left for the day, the other front desk staff member (a male with a beard) working at the time indicated that "she's like that" and that I shouldn't take it personally. Very strange to deal with and the only explanation I had was a follow up call from a manager letting me know being interracial wasn't an issue. Happy this isn't my home gym. I recommend retraining the elderly lady who works the front desk on proper etiquette?

Fantastic experience: I have been going to this year for a year now and I have to this service is completely fantastic. Everyday I am welcomed with a smile and wished a good workout. Everytime I leave I get wished a good day. I come in the mornings and my days are set with greatest! This lovely gentleman names Andy that works here is always rocking a smile and great energy. Fantastic experience: I have been a Goodlife member for 4 years, primarily training at the Newmarket location, but after moving to Alcona and giving this location a shot, I fell in love. This gym is perfect, spacious, well equipped, and has a really cool vibe. The staff is wonderful, I've had interaction with mostly Stephanie and she is a doll, very approachable and sweet and never pushy in any way! Fantastic gym that has become my new home!

Fantastic experience: I have been a member here for almost 2 years, and going 5-6 days a week. I have not once had a bad experience with any staff member or fellow gym members. All of the staff, trainers, management and front desk staff are happy, positive, encouraging and knowledgeable. I have done training sessions with Stephanie and she was excellent, her knowledge for helping improve lifts, movements and rehabilitation of bad joint is incredible she has helped me recover from shoulder and elbow injuries. My daughter has done training with Brandon and he was fantastic with her and helped her learn how to use the equipment and find training programs suitable for a 12yo. Yes they try to sell you more training, but that is their job they want to see you continue to improve yourself. That's how both of them came off to me, more worried about helping myself and my daughter become healthier and improving our lifestyle then making a buck ( as some reviewers have stated recently). If you are clear with them that you are not interested in buying they fully understand. I have participated in fundraising events (Lift for Kids) they have held and the staff that where involved where very enthusiastic and cheering everyone on. The training staff is a great team that's been assembled be Leigh and Steph.

They tag team on you saying whatever needed just to get you to sign up for training. It is shameful!!!! NEVER WOULD RECOMMEND THIS GYM TO ANYONE THE MANAGEMENT CARES MORE ABOUT SALES NOT PEOPLE!

Fantastic experience: I had surgery 5 weeks ago and started at goodlife about 3 weeks ago . I also got a wonderful knowledgeable trainer victoria. She is helped me along the way. She is great at encouraging you when you feel your not able to do the routine. I am grateful for her and enjoy going to Goodlife for my new challenging transformation and new healthy way.

Fantastic experience: Great gym! There's lots of space and plenty of equipment to choose from. The staff are also very friendly on a day-to-day basis. John in particular was incredibly helpful with getting me signed up for my membership, getting me started, and showing me around. The instructors that lead, motivate, and teach the classes that I take (Christa, Carrie, Angela, Anza, Christine, and Anne are phenomenal). Fantastic experience: Only been to this location a few times, and let me tell you the staff is absolutely lovely, some of the best customer service I’ve experienced at any gym. Although the gym itself is a little older, they have a good amount of equipment and keep the gym nice and clean. The atmosphere is great, it’s never been too crowded and is well lit.

Fantastic experience: Awesome GoodLife location. It’s huge! Like 3-4x larger than my home gym. Absolutely love the dedicated women’s space. The Yoga instructor is lovely also.
